Hello everyone!

I haven't been on-line for a while, and it is always exciting to catch up on everyone's news.

Good luck to Prissy for EC today and to Beth too for starting stimms. We are all rooting for you both.

Daniella - I'm so excited for you. It must be way harder for you to wait for the official results, but please let us know asap. You will be a good omen for the rest of us.

Vessi - where in Bulgaria are you from? We have been living here for a couple of years, and it actually seems to be a great place for IVF treatment - lots of up-to-date private clinics with no waiting lists.

Heather - yes, husbands can be tricky! I am blessed with a very loving and supportive one, luckily, which is so important to me, I wouldn't have married him if he hadn't been 100% in that department. I find that if I explain to him that my emotions are actually as biological, or chemically-triggered as say, a headache, or a fever, it helps him understand. Whoever heard of anyone controlling a high temperature or any other symtom of bodily function or change just by 'trying to be nice' or 'behaving themselves'?

Prissy, I too am wondering whether these chemicals are having any effect as AF arrived yesterday with a vengence - agony. I'm not taking any pain killers (ibuprofen) this time, because I read that if used around the time of conception, it has been implicated in m/s. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in having 'normal' (rather than unusually light) AF this month, together with Cyot and Dania.

Tanya - how great to find that someone else in our group is on the one-shot regime for down regging - me too! I was beginning to wonder whether my treatment was for real. How long before you start stimming? Why do you think some people have our option, and others have to have injections everyday? You would think that everyone would opt for the easier one time only option.

Wendy - we are still cycling closely together - AF at the same time, and baseline scans on the same day (27th April). Lets hope the BFPs will coincide too! We are also both MF and first timers to ICSI.

Brenda - I loved how you summarised the whole IVF treatment as 'one little poke'. It's good to think if it like that, as it puts the daily grind into perspective.

Here's to a great week ahead of more successful poking for all of us!

Hello everyone! Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers! Well, the ER went really well today. I had NINE eggs, just on one side!! :D My left ovary decided not to play, but we kind of figured as much. Tomorrow I receive the "fert call" to let me know how many fertilised!! Keep me in you thoughts!

Danielle: You were on my mind as soon as I walked in the door from my ER. My DH was trying to rush me to bed for rest but I told him that I needed to make sure your little fat positive was now a big fat positive! That is such wonderful news!

Sofia: HELLO!! You hadn't logged on for awhile and I was worried about you! :( I'm glad that everything is going well. It's almost time to start your stimmies! During my AF I was told to only take Tylenol for pain, but I totally understand wanting to stay away from anything that would cause any harm to our little ones.

Brenjamie: 10 more days!! Your exactly right about the little poke. Those "stinging stimmies" helped make 9 eggs, so it was all worth it! I'll have to see if I feel the same after the progesterone in oil shots that I start tonight! I heard those are HORRIBLE!

Tiffichels: You're doing your subQ shots in the rear? SubQ shots are normally given in the abdomen, tops of thighs, or the back of the arm. Intramuscular shots (IM) are normally reserved for the butt and thighs. The size of the needle is really what counts though, subQ needles are small as to deliver the medicine to the subcutaneous tissue and IM needles are longer to reach in the muscles, so I guess no matter where you give it as long as you have the correct needle it's okay. Hope you have a safe trip!

Wendyw: April 27th will be here before you know it! Downregging does seem to last forever, but your ovaires need time to rest because once you start your stimmies they'll be working overtime!

DaniaBB: When I first started my stimmies I went through a couple of REALLY LOW days too! But, logging on definitely helps!! We're all here for eachother through the good and bad.

Sammys: Are you going to have all 3 embies put back in?? I pray that all goes well for you tomorrow! Please get plenty of rest, but keep us posted on how well things go!

Well, everyone I'm starting to feel a little lightheaded and need to get some rest.

LOVE,
Prissy

Hi everyone,

CONGRATULATIONS DANIELLE!!! So happy to hear you a BFP!!!!YEAH!!

PRISSY- Thanks for the support- it really helps to know that you too had some down days. Congrats on nine eggs!!! That's amazing. I'll keep you in my prayers that many get fertilized. GEt a lot of rest.

Cyot- yes I'd be curious to know what causes such bleeding. I have my first U/S on thursday to see how the down regging has been going so I'll ask what the difference is bwtn Buserelin & Lupron.

I'm supposed to start FSH meds on that day too. Is that the Gonal F medication? Is is better to get the pen injection(if I can choose)?

All the best!

Hi Ladies

A few quick posts as absolutely knackered. Work seemed a real drag after a lovely Easter weekend. I just counted up and am now on Injection 24 of Buserlin and Injection 6 of stimmie so starting to run out of new areas to inject! Well as Brenda says think of the end prize and then the little poke seems not so bad.

Firstly - CONGRATULATIONS ON BFP - Danielle. I am so pleased for you.      You have got this thread off to a great start. Take good care and enjoy!

Mitzy - keep thinking of you and hoping that your little beanie is hanging on in there and fighting. Let us know how you are feeling.

Prissy - Terrific news on 9 eggs. You give the one side only ladies such hope! Both my sides are hurting so not sure what they are up to!!! Hope that you are resting well. Fingers crossed that the report is good news tomorrow and that you will be all set for EC. Go girl!

Brenda - thinking of you also and hoping that the time will speed by during your 2ww. Will add your test date tomorrow if somebody does not beat me to it.

Lucy - really hoping for you that cyst is going to be ancient history by Saturday.

Sally - good luck with all the prep for your trip to London. Not long to wait now.

Cyot - hope that bloods & scan tomorrow show that down regs have done their job for you. That will be the first tmt hurdle cleared for you.

Natalie - Hope that you are doing ok on the down regs. It is hard going but let us know how you are doing.

Sofia - would have been lovely to have a choice of 1 down reg injection but I had no choice at all. All our hospitals seem to use different drugs, timings and numbers of days. I guess that they use what they think will suit each of us best.

Dania - I felt a bit low during down regs and at the start of stimmies but other days I felt on top of the world. Think that it is the hormone rollercoaster that we are all riding. DR went on for 18 days before I even got to a first baseline scan. I think that they put me on a long protocol as I have PCOS on one side so they are worried that they might overstimulate. So I am on the marathon protocol! I am using an injection pen for my stimmies. Quite easy to use and does not hurt much.

WendyW - good to hear from you. It is boring when you are on down regs but it is going to be worth it in the end. It all seems to speed up a bit when you start on the stimmies.

Heather - good to hear that your dh can go out on the boat and chill out. Sounds great. Make sure that you are doing some nice things whilst he is out enjoying himself!

Tanya - it is exciting when finally you can get started. Even if it means injections - at least it is good to think that you are doing something proactive. Good luck for all your tmt.

Sammy - good luck for ET tomorrow. I wonder if you are having all 3 put back. Sure that you will let us know how you get on.

Lots of luck to those who I have missed. Gone 9.30pm, In pyjamas already and absolutely shattered so going to get an early night.

Take good care.

Hello Ladies

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Danielle - Well Done, here's to a happy and healthy 9 months :D :D :D :D :D :D

Prissy - Congratulations on the 9 eggs, fingers crossed for an excellent fert report tomorrow, make sure you keep us all updated.

Sammys - Good Luck with the ET tomorrow, hope all goes smoothly.

Cyot - I too found that my tummy was becoming tender with the injections so switched to the legs a couple of days ago and have found this better. I use an ice pack on the area to be injected first and find that this also makes things less painful. Might have to alternate between my tummy and my legs once I get going on the stimms though as I'm starting to resemble a pin cushion

Sofia - My cycle buddy :D How are you finding the down reggs? I'm feeling a lot more positive since AF started but I'm still counting the days down to the baseline scan! In fact I'm quite glad to be back at work after the Easter weekend as it at least gives me something else to think about!

Mitzy and Brenda - Hope you ladies are doing ok on the 2WW, hang in there, not too much longer to wait!

Carolyn - Thanks for the encouragement, it does sound as though things start to move a lot faster once the stimms start! Not long now until your first stimms scan, fingers crosed that the meds are doing their job :D

Hope everyone else is doing well, catch up with you all soon.

Oh, will one of you lovely ladies please update the list with the date of my baseline scan - 27 April - thanks

Hi Girls,

I posted some time back and will like to join you guys again. I started my Buserlin injection on the 9th of April and have my scan on the 3rd of May. The meds have made me really tired but I am also having acupuncture to build up my energy.

I really feel I have mood swings and feel irritable. Do you any of your feel this ?

Danielle, congratulations !! It is always nice to have a FIRST BFP to this thread. Hope the trend continues for the rest of us.

Good luck to all of you who are also going through the same journey as me. Hope we get lots of BFPs like Danielle :) :)

Until next time ..take care.

Hi girls!!

WOW!!! CONGRATULATIONS DANIELLE!!! You've got us off to a great start. I am so happy for you!! Don't worry too much about the ultrasound in a few weeks and how many. The important thing right now, is that you are pregnant!!

My 2ww is going Ok. I find the first week is not so bad, but I know next week it will get unbearable. I have been busy with work and that helps keep my mind occupied as much as possible. It's rough though.

Dania -- I used the Gonal F pen and it is wonderful. No mixing, just dial in your dose and you are ready. I would recommend this!!

Prissy -- Great number of eggs!! I hope you get a good number back after fertilization. And good luck with the progesterone shots. I am not using them this time. My Dr. changed his protocol and I am using progeterone vaginal suppositories. A bit messy!! I have done the shots though a couple years ago when I had my daughter. I was on them for 12 weeks. They are a big needle shot, so yeah they hurt a bit. But the faster the needle goes in the better it is. Is your DH giving them to you? Mine did them for me and he did a great job!! Good luck, your rear will get a bit sore. Remember, keep your eye on the prize!!

Hello to everyone else and good luck with the injections. They will be over before you know it. I'm sorry I can't say HI to the rest of you, but I am wiped out and I'm off to bed.

Hi everyone

Danielle - i replied to your own test thread, but can i just congratulate you again? fantastic news, well done, your news is keeping us all going.

AF started this morning which is amazingly normal timing compared to the nightmare my cycle has been for the last 2 years since i started ivf treatment. i'm taking it as a good sign that my body's had a good rest now and is ready for this go.

Heavy and painful though. i usually take feminax but don't want to as it's not just a painkiller, it actually blocks the prostaglandins that make your uterus contract and hurt so i thought i'd better stay off anything like that.

time is really dragging though and seems like i've been on Buserelin and waiting for my baseline scan forever.

Hope everyone is doing ok today.

THANKS GUYS!

Post by TansRN »

First of all thank you for making me feel so welcomed here! I have to wait for AF and then I guess on day 10 I give myself the depo-lupron. I am excited!

Danielle-Good luck to you and I agree that you are getting us off on the right foot.

Sofia-I was wondering about the one shot deal as well and why some of the doctors use it. It seems like it would be easier. When are you getting it or did you get it? Are you on the depo lupron?

Carolyn-Thank you so much for the warm welcome and I just want to tell you Good Luck on your stimmies!!! lots of precious eggs!!!

Natalie-good deal on watching the pain meds/prostaglandins with the meds. Make a great little home for your embies!!!

This is so exciting and I love it that we can kind of go through this together. This is really neat to have a support group that I can access anytime!!! Good luck!
