I did not take a HPT but felt like a former crack addict in recovery trying to resist a relapse. I would take out my HPT and look at it. I would hold in and read the directions, put it back, talk myself into it, talk myself out of it, foundle it, hide it, etc. It took everything I had to resist it and I went through those motions about 4 X's a day. I am so glad I resisted.

I was told by my doctor, only walking. Our ovaries are too swollen to be lifting stuff or bouncing them around. I really did not do anything for the two weeks except walk. I did not want to do anything I regreted. Take it easy and keep us posted.

BTW- The sex thing. I was also told not to have sex after transfer. They really want me to stay away from it until my first ultra sound. DH is bummed but comes with the territory.

Shapooh- I'm glad to hear from you. I was getting worried! Try to enjoy the bed rest as much as possible. When are you testing?

Sam--Who have you told about your BFP? Have you had any pregnancy symptoms yet?

Suzhan--Now that you are up and around, how are you feeling today?

Lola- I am so glad to hear that you are good to go! Waiting must have been driving you nuts!

I'm waiting to hear from my nurse to tell me if I can take the trigger shot tonight. This means that I stop all other injections. I'm glad because that ganirelix was brutal last night. I'm glad I only had to take one of those. Low dose and follistim I could tolerate! That also means I start taking back shots (as my DH puts it....he is such a pig!) tonight. Can I have honest feedback about the full strength HCG injection?

One of the nurses said that in order for DH to produce a fresh specimen on Friday, he would need to ejaculate today (TMI) and she assured me that sex was ok! I have to yet shed that bit of news with my DH, but I KNOW HE WILL BE EXCITED (in more ways than one)! Have any of you had sex while you were taking stims? Was it uncomfortable?

For those of you who were on bedrest--did you count the day of your transfer as day 1 of bed rest or was the following day, day 1?

Hope all is well--we are really moving along. I'm glad we are doing this together! :)

Hi all - yes, I'm up and around from 3 days bed rest and feeling good. A little crampy and up to the restroom all night , so very tired, but otherwise, okay.

Good luck with the bed rest, Shapooh!

Wannababy - the HCG shot was about double the size of the stim shots - it's IM, so in the bum and pretty much like all the other shots in the bum. I got the preggo symptoms the next day after the shot, but that goes away quick. And, yes, it's VERY important that DH 'clear' 2-3 days prior to his 'donation to the cause'. Sex is fine but can be a bit sore with the size of the ovaries, so just go slow.... Also, regarding bed rest, I had the ET on a Friday morning and the doc said I could start getting up slowly Sunday night, but I waited until Monday noontime to be sure (a full 36 hours after ET). During bed rest, I only got up for the potty and that is it - no more than 45 degree angle up for eating and then back down. I had a lot of back aches, though, but nurses said I could take 2 tylenol every 6 hours if needed for this.

Post ET, I got the same answer on the sex thing - none for many weeks. For me the first time, it was after 2nd ultrasound (which was 4 weeks after BFP!) Poor DH......

Hey there everyone! Sorry I have not checked in for a couple of days. Monday and Tuedays are our weekend and DH and I we're out and about and doing stuff around the house.

Wow! :o let me see if I can catch up here.

Welcome suzhan!

Shapooh, I'm so excited for you! I'm sending lots of sticky baby dust to you! :D How is bed rest. Do you have stuff to keep you busy while in bed. I've increased my netflix total for this month so I'll have plenty of movies to watch. I've got 2 novels I've been wanting to read and, I know it's jumping the gun, but I bought some yarn and I'm going to start a crocheting a baby blanket. Did you say you're from AZ? DH and I would like to do a AZ road trip someday soon. I have never seen the Grand Canyon or Sedona.

Lola, I'm so glad you got the go ahead! everything seems to be moving fast at this point. Shots are already routine for me and don't bother me as much. I think they might be just as painful for DH at this point.

Wannababy, It's so close for you now. good luck! You only took 1 Ganirellix? I will have to take that one too, but I have 6 of them. I hope I don't need them all. Does it sting?

Champa, are we on the same schedule? how long are you supposed to take your stims? Next monday should be my last day if all is normal. I'm not more emotional than normal, I don't think. I was a little light headed on Sunday and on Monday and Tuesday felt very drowsy during the afternoon. I told DH I can feel a little business going on in the ovary department. Nothing painful or crampy.... just something. :?:

Hope you're all having a great day. Sorry if i'm too out of touch.

Hi Hopeful--Welcome back! I was asking where you have been! Although I had 4 boxes of ganirelix, I only needed to take one. The injection itself didn't hurt, but it stung like mad for about an hour afterwards!

Lola- thanks for taking over the chart.

I took my first booty shot early this morning. We were instructed to take the full strength HCG at exactly 1:30am  I was so afraid that we would oversleep or the alarm wouldn't go off that I barely slept. I took it on time and icing first was a blessing! Today I am sore, but didn't even feel it go in. My retrieval is scheduled for 1:30 tomorrow afternoon. I can't eat or drink anything after midnight or before the retrieval. This means no food or drink for approximately 15 hours! I had my final acupuncture session this morning prior to the retrieval. I'm ready to get this going! My pregnancy test will be on September 1.

Hope all of you are progressingly nicely and taking care of yourselves!

I'M BACK!!!

Its so good to be home again. The hotel bed was so uncomfortable. I'm still on bedrest, but I'm cheating real quick to come write to you all.

Wannababy - I am so excited for you. I can't believe we were just starting injections not to long ago, and look at us now. It blows my mind that your having your ER tomorrow. Keep us posted.

Mia - Bedrest is tough, I have watched enough movies to last me the rest of the year. :) I have netflix too (thank goodness). We live in Yuma Arizona and boy is it hot!!! If you ever come through let me know, it would be so much fun to meet someone in person from this board.

Lola - I appreciate you taking over the chart for me! :D My Beta will be Aug 29th. And I'm from Yuma, Arizona.

Sam - How are you feeling? Are you taking it easy still? I sure hope I follow suit. Trying to stay positive, but this waiting thing is very frustrating. One minute I think "hey this could really happen" and then the next minute "it probably won't happen for me". Very emotional rollercoaster huh? I had a question for you, this morning I had to take a progesterone bloodtest to see my levels. Did you have to do this? My RE called me and said the levels were great and in fact I could reduce my injection to twice a week instead of every other day! Have any clues what this might mean? good or bad?

Welcome Suzhan! Looks like your a few days ahead of me. Good luck and I wish you lots of baby dust.

Welcome Haylie! You will love this group of girls, they are the best support group in the world. :D

Well I better get back to bed before DH sees me on the computer. He has been such a good waiter the past few days. I don't want to blow it. :D

Love you all,
Alicia

Alicia

I absolutly HATED bed rest. By far the worst part for me. The day before testing is also hard so make sure you prepare for that. I think I cried (the ugly cry) for 24 hours straight but then regrouped and stayed positive.

The progesterone thing is a good thing. You were probably high so that means that your body is kicking in its own. I do not know if that means a pregnancy but I do know that a good level of progesterone means it is able to hold the embryos in better which increases your chances of a positive. It also means that if you get pregnant than you are probably likely to not have to d the shots for the whole first trimester.

Mine is so stable (i Know that is a good thing) but it also means I keep doing the injections for a long time : ( ALL WORTH IT THOUGH!!!

Best of luck and really have been thinking of you tons this week. Hang in there with bedrest, it is also worth it!

Hello girls!!! 8)

I am updating our dates again, please let me know if there are any changes or news :D

Sam (Denver, Colorado) Aug 13 BFP!!
Alicia (Yuma, Arizona) Aug 29 Beta - bed rest now
Champa Aug 12 Stims
Wannababy ( New Jersey) Aug 18 ER
Lola (California) Aug 18 Stims
Mia (Las Vegas, NE) Aug 12 Stims
Suzhan (California) Aug 11 ET - after bed rest now

Alicia - it is so good to hear from you, I missed you a lot  !!!
Looks like everything is working out for you. I understand the emotional rollercoaster, I have the same feelings and I have not even started my stims (tomorrow is my first date). My cyst is not producing estrogen anymore and I am finally good to go. I want to be positive but I also want to be ready if it does not work out. So I try not to think about it, or at least not to think past August, but that's hard to do as well!

Ladies, I am sending tons of luck and baby dust to all of you!!!!!
