Ninde,
I am working today and made plans already for Tuesday to spend the whole day with my neighbor's little girl, Belles... Completed her sundress last week with matching flip flops done in teal and brown. I used to work in retail banking before I got back into fashion merchandising/marketing so I've been counting or working with numbers most of my life.
LongtimeIVF,
Nope no poasing, promised dh already.

6/21 Found out we are having a BOY!
Hi ladies I know I haven't posted for awhile, but I have been reading everyone's posts and been silently cheering everyone's good news on and my heart has been breaking with the bad. I had been allowing IVF to consume my live, so I decided to focus on my DS and not let this cycle overtake me. I am taking each day as it comes. At my first u/s after starting stims I had one huge follicle and my RE was afraid that it would spoil the other few. She wanted me to continue the meds a few more days and then decide if we would cancel. At the next appt the same thing. So last Sunday we had one huge follicle and 4 measuring on track, so we decided to go for it. That night I triggered and took 400U of follistim(never took follistim with the trigger before?) On Tuesday we retrieved 6 eggs, 5 which were mature and 4 fertilized. Friday morning we transferred 3 (2 grade 2 and 1 grade 3) the fourth didn't make it. I am now cautiously optimistic and my beta is Monday 22nd.
longtimerivf- I'm so sorry about baby B! Prayers that baby A is strong & continues to grow, so you & DH can hold him/her in your arms next year. Also, praying that your niece gets the care she needs soon.
Ninde- I probably won't have 20 eggs; although, I did during my 1st cycle. A follicle has to be at about 18 in order for it to contain a mature egg. I'm guessing I'll have about 12-15 mature eggs. I believe my transfer will be a 5dt as long as my embabies continue to grow & divide. Good luck tomorrow!!! I'm actually nervous & anxious about my upcoming ER. During my 1st 4 cycles, I was at a different clinic & there I was completely out...I believe it was called twilight sedation. The clinic I'm at now, I had my 5th cycle there & ER was not fun. They are not equipped to do twilight sedation b/c it has to be done by an actual anesthesiologist & they don't have one. Although, that baffles me b/c it's freakin YALE....1 of the most powerful & world-known medical establishments. So, they use conscious sedation, which can be administered by a nurse, in addition to IV pain medicine. Needless to say, I felt everything & was awake....kind of like in & out...I was snapping at the RE & nurses (I felt bad afterwards) & I was in tears. My recovery was awful. I don't know if it was awful b/c of the ER experience or just by coincidence. I had great recoveries when I had ERs at the other clinic when I was completely knocked out. Last time, I couldn't walk, pee, bend over for like 2 days after the ER. It sucked! So, during today's SnS, I explained all of this to the RE doing the u/s (not my actual RE), & she gave my a script for Atavan, so I can at least be a little calmer right before the ER. Don't know how much or if it'll help, but I guess the ER needs to be done, so I don't really have a choice.
Lydia- Thinking of you today!
Alwaysangel- I've been thinking of you all weekend. I think you have an u/s today. Praying for you!
Christy- Wow, you have it down to the minute, lol! You have a fantastic chance of this working! I've got everything crossed for you!
sunshine.12- I'm good...thanks! How are you feeling? You're almost done w/ the 1st trimester, right?
Lauren- WOW!!! That's so disrespectful & unprofessional! Have you called to complain? I definitely would! Is this clinic the only one in-network for you?
Lauren319- Good luck today! Thinking about you girl.
Kiminish- Let us know how tomorrow's appointment goes.
miyaya- I'm looking at the list & it says that AF is due to mid-month. Keep us posted.
mandarae- How are you? Are you starting stims today?
MadameX- Good luck tomorrow on your u/s. Let us know how everything goes.
22yearslater- How are the stims?
Prayersnpies- That's great news! The 23rd will be here soon!

Ha...I wish I could! I'm not sure what the purpose of conscious sedation is if you can pretty much feel everything?!

Ester ~ this added to the stress of the ER, so sorry. Praying you get lots of mature eggs.

I was wondering how many clinics use medrol. I was prescribed it for all my cycles. I started taking it the night of the ER and stop the night of the ET. I read that it is to stop your body from rejecting the embryos. Anyone else using it during their cycle?
I have used it with all of m cycles. I think it is pretty commonly used. It is actualy a steroid medication and it is used to reduce swelling which could prevent rejection.

I trigger TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ER scheduled for Wednesday. I have to be there at 8:30am. DH is taking that day off (obviously) & the next day since I did not have a good recovery last time. So, transfer will be either on Saturday (3dt) or Monday (5dt).
Ester - good luck! 20 folicles is fantastic!
Ninde - good luck!
so much action on here - i love it!
longertimer - i am sorry about losing one of the babies. wishing you an uneventful pregnancy frm here on out!
Nicks - congrats on being PUPO! and i also use medrol. that's to supress your immune system a bit so it doesnt reject the embryos.
Lauren319 - hope your surgery went well
Lauren - the clinic does have very bad manners. so what are your plans from here on out?
AFM - i went for my beta late today - cause i just didnt have time in teh morning. and when i was there i found out that my doc has two procedures this afternoon ( for which he goes offsite - since my doc is an obgyn, he has to go a few blocks down to the reproductive clinic that they use). so i am not even expecting him to call today frankly. i am thinking most likely tomorrow i'll hear from him. So because of that i asked my hubby to pick me up some more HPTs from teh dollar tree store and if i dont hear from the doc tonight i will just POAs again and see if the line is still around - and if its lighter or what. i remember what my line looked like the night before i got 66. so i have a reference point so to speak. and these will be the same type of tests. i love dollar tree HPTs they are very sensitive.

My one and only friend who knows about what I am going through with Fragile X and IVF sent me this today. I thought I would share it with you. I am not super religous, but I did like this story. Hope you do too!
Maybe one day we can tell our own children this.... It's called "God's Cake"
We all wonder WHY?
Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or
"Why did God have to do this to me?"
Here is a wonderful explanation:
A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong,
she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.
Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake."
"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers.
"Yuck" says her daughter.
"How about a couple of raw eggs?"
"Gross, Mom!"
"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?"
"Mom, those are all yucky!"
To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! "
God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!
God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.
He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

Lyd-thinking of you today. Is there anyone on call that you could call later today to get you results. My RE's office had a phone tree. You call into the line with your patient ID # and theresult are always left on the recording for you, however there is always someone in call who returns calls after hours and has access to your file and results. I am praying for you.

I think calls like this my doc likes to do himself. Also his regular nurse is not here today - so i think he will call himself. Now he is usually very good about calling the same day, even if its at 5:30 or 6pm. but since i did the test late i may not hear till tomorrow. that's ok - i'll do the hpt.
