Hi Carolyn,
Happy to hear your NHS referral came through and you can see your IVF doctor without the extra cost! That is great. Aside from the tiredness, how are you feeling otherwise? I hope well. Will you continue with accupuncture throughout your pregnancy?

We did a bit of work on the nursery -- have all the furniture, but the room still has things in it that have to be cleared out, and until that happens, we are at a bit of a standstill. DH just has to call in some extra help and we will be on our way...We'll be on holiday next week and will then be rested and ready for the homestretch --

Hello to chriss, jenB, sabi, gigi, stef and poohgirl!
Hope everyone has a great week,
xx summer

Hey Ladies,

Mind if I join your thread? I was on here a while back and now trying our last IVF with DE. This will be our third try with DE. We have just had really bad luck with our last two donors.

Appears there are several BFPs on here. And several twins! I wish we could have multiples. You all seem like a great bunch of ladies.

Welcome baby,
Where are you in your cycle? Do you have a new donor? Sorry about the bad luck w/the donors. We really rely on them. Are you from the states or across the pond?

Hi Ladies,

Is there room for yet another? I was also on the boards about a year ago, but had to take time to heal after a miscarriage. We did one cycle of DE at our previous clinic, but like Babyblue we also had bad luck with our donor. Our ER appears to be this Thursday with ET next Tuesday, but we will know for sure tomorrow morning.

welcome hopeful and babyblue - sorry to hear about your previous failed attempts - this IVF is certainly one huge emotional roller coaster.

There are a great bunch of ladies on this thread and various stages - we have a mummy of twins who are 10 months old - Kelly, summer who is due in October, Chris - who is just over 12 weeks with twins, I am nearly nine weeks with one, Sabi is 7 and a bit weeks with twins - stef, pooh, gigi, jen are all waiting for treatment - we all try to support one another though !!

Good luck with your cyclesxx

Welcome Kim, Hopeful & babyblue,

Did anyone have nausea & diarrhea side effects with prednisone or estrofem? I have been on tham since Friday and have had almost uncontrollable diarrhea since. My stomache is very unsettled.

I know it's a gross subject but would like to hear if you had the same. Both drugs list nausea as a side effect.

Wishful, Summer, and Evergreen - Thank you! I was trying to read back a few pages and catch up with how all of you are doing and Wishful you laid it all out for us. Seeing all of you being successful really helps with the PMA!

Evergreen, sorry about the nausea and such. Hopefully you are feeling better soon ... how long are you on those meds?

We found out the ER will be Friday. I have a question about acupuncture for any of you who have done it. I have been given the option of going the day prior for a session or having acupuncture right before the transfer, at the clinic. A regular session is $75 with the session at the clinic being $250. We are paying for everything out of pocket, so I'm wondering if it is really worth the extra $$$

Hi Hopeful,
I know that Carolyn has been doing acupuncture regularly and will probably be able to give you a good answer! During my regular IVF cycles, I had it at my clinic on the day of ET, both before and after the transfer. We also paid for everything out of pocket, but this service was included and not extra. I found it to be very relaxing, unfortunately nothing came of it because I was using my old eggs at that time. I didn't use any acupuncture during my DE cycle.

Good luck with your donors ER on Friday and hopefully there will be a big fertilization party over the weekend! Sending you lots of baby dust for your transfer next week!

Stef - hope you are feeling better and that the side effects of the meds aren't taking too much of a toll on you! When things don't improve, I would suggest that you talk to your clinic to get some advice.

Thank you Summer and Chris!

Evergreen, you haven't posted ... I hope you are feeling better. I start prednisone tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it goes. Are you and Stef the same person, sorry just trying to get everyone straight

Today was an emotional roller coaster for me. I had an appt with the Dr. to check my lining. He said our donor is doing great, but then my lining was only at 7mm. He said they really would prefer it was at least 8mm, but that the pattern looked good. This stressed me out the entire ride home so I emailed my nurse and she said not to worry, if they thought there was a problem they would cancel for this month. I did ask my Dr about the acupuncture and he suggested I have it day of. Our donor has her ER tomorrow so I'll update everyone on how many eggs we get ... I'm really hoping we get enough to freeze some this time, as the last 3 cycles (2 my own eggs) we never did.

Hope everyone is doing well and has a great Friday!

Hi Hopeful,
to answer your question, evergreen and stef are the same person. It can get confusing, not to worry..

Do your best to keep up your PMA and not to fret over your lining -- 7mm at this point is really great! You still have a few days for it to reach 8mm and I am sure you will get there!! If they didn't up your dosage of meds to try to help compensate, then they can't be too worried themselves. Sometimes, I think the doctors don't think much before saying something and not taking into account how it might affect their patients emotionally -- thus putting a negative stress on them, when they should really be there to help build them up at that point and keep that positive energy flowing!!!! Sending you lots of PMA and I would suggest to limit your exercise this weekend and until transfer to keep the blood flow situated around your uterus and not unnecessarily making it flow out to the extremities --

Keeping my fingers crossed that you will get some frosties to keep on hand as well. I also never had them till this last cycle - and I must say it was a very comforting feeling to have that "back up plan". That isn't to say, that without frosties it won't work for you. Kelly now has twins, and didn't have any frosties -- so success happens when you least expect it!

chriss - hope you are doing well and are feeling good! Has the nausea subsided? Are you getting your old energy back? Hope the sun comes out again, the vitamin D and fresh sea air are very good for you and those little beans! Take good care of yourself!

Wishing all the egg-heads a very good weekend!

Hey Summer,

How's it going? How are you feeling these days?

My queasiness seems to be sticking around... just not as intensely. My relationship with food is just different now. I'm hungry all the time, I eat tons, but I always feel kinda unsettled after I eat. Yet when i don't eat, I feel queasy. I feel good at the exact time that I am eating. Before and after... not so much. WIERD!!!

It rained like mad yesterday. I went to my friend's house, she's teaching me and another friend how to knit. So that was a good thing to do on a rainy day. Hoping to get to the beach today, but it looks very windy out there. Hopefully it slows down and warms up. It's still early.

What have you been up to lately? Fill me in. I hope you are doing well. We sure have come a long way:) I am very excited for you:)
