I got my 2nd hcg 720, nurse told this is higher than what RE expected in a 2 day but is ok. They took 4 tubes of blood to do some other tests also, like glucose level etc. I don't know the details. She will call me on 12/22 with results. She told me to call office if i have any spotting or severe cramping and I can stop by anytime to do another b/w if i want to see hcg is raising. Other wise, i just want to continue my medications. An u/s is scheduled for 01/12. For me it looks soooooo long wait. 24 looooong days.

praying for all you guys and sending lots of baby dust on your way.

hi detroit. congratulations! it's rising. and don't worry about it rising too much- as mine did too and i was very worried....but researched it, checked it out with dr....and it's fine. dr.'s only worry if it rises ridiculously high(which yours isn't), as then it could be a molar. but yours is absolutely in the range of normal, just on the high side.

check out betabase.info if you're interested in seeing some ranges. i've learned through my pregnancy experiences that i'm just one of those women who produce alot of hcg,, it just happens to some of us. and if anything- you want to produce MORE, not less, as this is more predictive (but not absolute) of a viable pregnancy.

thanks to everyone who expressed concerns, i'm still spotting but not as much as last night, and now is back to old, brown blood.. i've thought about the whole bedrest thing, my OB was very clear that if i'm going to m/c, there's nothing that can stop it. he said do bedrest if it'll help my anxiety, but don't think it'll fix me physically. he just said to listen to my body and take it easy at work, which i did.. so i sure hope he's right. i do trust him and have been taking it easy.

best to all...we're off to my mom's for an early xmas.. ttys karen

Karen Thats great news that the blood is back to the 'old brown' and i'm glad you will be taking it easy even if you are not on bedrest. I know you really like this OB and that must really help. Have a great time at your moms and let her spoil you!! thats what moms are for!!!!

Detroit Great news about your beta, its nice to see a strong number like that, very reassuring, although i know the next step (U/S) must seem like forever away!!! Your job right now is to relax, take it easy and enjoy being pregnant :)

Dippenj Welcome to the board! You will be having your beta test the day before me! I am 14 dpo today and i started to have the same brown spotting on day 12. I am still getting it on and off. Usually i have been getting it slightly heavier mid morning, and it tapers off by lunchtime but there are one or two spots throughout the day and always when i wipe (if TMI, sorry). Lots of the ladies on this board have spent the last few days reassuring me that this is ok and that they have had the same thing.... I hope that can encourage ou as well. Have you had any other symptoms yet?

JDC Maybe a new clinic would offer a new perspective/protocol that might produce more eggs? Also have you looked at DHEA? Last cycle both Karen and myself were poor responders (on high doses I struggled to get 4 eggs, 3 embies) and we both took DHEA alleged to improve eggs in us older ladies. I took it for 2 1/2 months. (They say you need to take it at least 2 months). Now maybe its co-incidence, and i did try a different protocol, but both of us did the best ever regarding numbers of eggs. I produced 9, 8 of which fertilised and 5 of which were grade 1. I, a poor responder had some to freeze which i NEVER expected. I strongly believe the DHEA had a hand in this, so my 2 cents is DHEA...

As for me, still getting the brownish/blackish spotting. I realised i miscounted by a day so my beta will be 17dpo as ER was 5th. Wow no wonder this 2ww has felt like an eternity - it has been!!! Today i am 14dpo....3 more days......

to those who took DHEA - how much/often did you take it? Did you take other supplements as well?

JDC I took 75mg DHEA daily. They came is 25mg pills so i kind of spread them out throughout the day. I got them from GNC and Walmart.

I did take some other supplements based on an article i read.

Vit C & Vit E (enriches fluid which surrounds and nourishes egg)
Zinc (essential for hormone production)
Magnesium & Vit A (aids egg production)
Iron and Co-enzyme Q-10 (enriches womb lining)
Also fish oils/flax seed oil (general ovarian health)
The article also said too little protein = less eggs, and to ensure you eat at least 60mg of protein daily.

I also took a pre-natal multi-vitamin with folic acid, and baby asprin.

This is what i took during stims and up to ER. After this i switched to

1000mg of Vit E daily (advised by RE) as its an anti-oxidant and helps protect your embies on the uterus
Folgard (a high dose vit B & folic acid)

Now, obviously i am still lingering in the 2WW so whether this worked or not i really dont know, but i did get a great jump in the number of eggs and i got (visually) great quality embies, but only time will tell the real outcome....

hi jdc, yes like kas i took 75mg of DHEA daily, i did 25 mg in morning, 50 at dinner/night. this is the way the NYCHR advises...but i'm sure 25 3x daily is fine too. i took it for 8 weeks before my stims started. i did no other supplements, not because i didn't think them valuable, moreso i ran out of energy after my endless research of DHEA. i considered royaljelly and wheatgrass.. i strongly think you should look into the DHEA. i believe it was a gift. my first cycle was cancelled cause i LITERALLY- didn't respond AT ALL. the RE"s were shocked. my second cycle, on the highest dose of meds they EVER do, with the flare protocal, i only produced 2 mature follies.. after i m/c'd that one, they recommended egg donor. my 3rd cycle (this one on DHEA) i produced 6 mature follies, 1 that was close to mature, and 3 others. got 5 eggs- 4 fertilized, 2 were good enough to freeze. used the SAME flare protocal as last cycle....so, i think it's more than fluke.

so i had a nice early xmas with my family. except last night at midnight i started bleeding again. terrifying. for about 30 mins, probably a cup or 2 of bright red blood. then some more at 5 am. since just spotting old brown blood, but this is soooohard. i was so dejected and scared today. it's so horrible to think about m/c over xmas.. or i imagine this is similar to those who got negative results before xmas..i've been hoping for about 5 years to be pregnant at xmas....i just want it to come true.

even though the dr's said there's no point going back to the ER again if i start bleeding (unless it's super heavy- as it puts my life in jeopardy), as if i'm going to m/c, i guess they'd prefer me do it at home. the ER is so unpleasant...but i will go back cause i know they'll do an u/s and i can know what's happening...even though they can't stop it if it's bad. in some ways i'd rather be oblivious and not know i'm about to m/c..

hope everyone's doing ok. i'm struggling tonight but hopeful. much love karen

Karen and Kas Thanks for the info on DHEA....I will probably take it (if I'm able to go for a fourth try)

Karen - I am really keeping you in my prayers right now.

As far as my situation - I went for u/s this morning and they are still unwilling to diagnose miscarriage. The sac is so hard to see because of it's location, and they did vaginal and abdominal u/s. I think they are still considering that it is ectopic because they did blood tests that they do before giving someone methytextrate (I can't remember what it's called!!!)? So, I continue being quasi pregnant for another week!! I do still feel so pregnant and that makes it harder.

Good Morning Ladies - Wow only two days of work this week - yeah!!!

KAS - I hope you are feeling better about spotting - this may be a good sign for you since some of the other ladies also had that and have their BCP. Just one more day!

Karen - my thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope everything is going to be okay.

Detroit - congrats on the high beta!

DippenJ - I believe you stated you find out today if you are PG - wishing you tons of luck and send tons of baby dust your way.

JDC - I am thinking about you and praying for you!

Chris - I am sure you are getting excited to meet with you doctor - wishing you the best of luck!!!

Well nothing so far, tomorrow is the big day to find out. I have had some minor cramping over the weekend, like aunt flow cramps, but that is about it. No spotting or anything - yet. I have been so nervous every time I go to the bathroom. I am wishing today goes fast.

Karen Sorry to hear about the new bleeding, I know this must be really scary... Please take it easy and let DH look after you for a few days and keep us updated...

Dippenj Good luck, i hope you get a great beta result!!! Hoping this will be a lucky week with it being Christmas!!

Chris I konw you have your big apointment with the new RE tomorrow, so GOOD LUCK, i really hope they have a great new plan for you!!!! Please let me know how they will be moving you forward!!! I bet you cant wait :)

Foreverlove & Annie Good luck to all of us for tomorrow's beta!!
Froeverlove i notice from your sig that we had transfer on the same day as well. I think we have had a very long 2WW as many people test 14dpo. Just seems like extra torture.... I am also trying to stay positive but i have been down this road before and i dont 'feel' pregnant. Its scary that Christmas could either be the best ever or a total cry-fest. Either way i am proud that we both resisted the call of the HPT. I will be thinking of you as i get my blood drawn!!

Well guys went for ultrasound at 5.6 weeks today. No fetal pole. There was a yolk sac, but the gest sac was measuring a couple of days too early. I am pretty distressed. Dunno if the baby just stopped developing on me or not. I can not stand this stress. You think you finally made it with the BFP then this happens.

KAS - I know the last two weeks have felt like a year. I am getting really nervous for tomorrow. Luckily I will be busy tonight getting the rest of my Christmas stuff done so I wont have time to think about it, but I am sure tomorrow will go by so slow as I am coming to work after the doctors appt tomorrow as my appt is at 7:00 a.m. - good luck to you tomorrow, I will be thinking of you. I would assume they just draw blood - is that correct? I am new to this so I dont know how this all works.

lynniecat - I am so sorry, did the doctor say that this might be too early for the fetal pole? You are in my thoughts and prayers.

lynniecat - ((((HUGGGSSS)))), I don't know what to say. I know "sorry" won't cover what you are feeling. This just sucks. I was so hoping this was your time. This board has woken me up that nothing with a pregnancy is for sure, until a healthy baby is born. My prayers are with you.

JDC - I know you are going through torture now. Is your HCG still rising? I wish they could let you know one way or the other. That way you can get on with your life and find some way to enjoy your Christmas. My prayers are also with you.

Foreverlove - Yep, they will draw blood for you beta test. Good Luck. Less then 24 more hours to go.

Dippenj - Good Luck on your Beta test.

Kas101 - Sorry you are down. Has your spotting stopped? You can't go buy the fact that " you don't feel pregnant" or "you do feel pregnant". I know last cycle I really felt like I was pregnant but of course I wasn't. The fat lady isn't signing yet so please keep your hopes up.

I am ready to find out what my next step will be. I thought waiting for a couple of months would be good but now I am tired of waiting. I just want for either IVF to work, or get on with my life. I hate being in limbo. I am tired of wanting to make plans but don't know if I will be pregnant or in a IVF cycle. The last 4 years of my life I have been dealing with this crap of infertility and it is really getting old.
Sorry about my rant.
