Summer, thank you so much for all of your positive energy and advice. You must be getting so excited, 26 weeks. I'm definitely going to take it easy ... I'm a runner and decided after the appointments that yesterday morning would be my last day, hopefully for 10 months!

Chris, hope your relationship with food gets better.

I did find out our donor ended up with 12 mature eggs today, so we are hoping there is a lot of fertilization going on. We'll get an update on how many fertilized tomorrow, so I'll update tomorrow.

I hope everyone is doing well and has a great weekend!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Yeah!!! We got our fertilization report. We had 14 fertilize ... we are sooo excited!!! We were told yesterday we had 12 mature, 2 intermediate, 2 immature, and 1 non-viable. The report was given to my DH when he went in to give his donation and I thought that meant we only had 12 possible, but I guess they give the mature and intermediate a chance to fertilize. I'd never been given a report like this.

They have already scheduled us for a 5 day transfer, so it will be Wednesday. They told me I need to pee before leaving the house and then drink 16oz of water on the way. I've never heard this, have any of you done this?

Carolyn, thank you so much for your words of wisdom. I spoke with my acupuncturist and I'm going to get it done the day of. We truly need to know we tried everything :)

Again, I hope you are all doing well and enjoying your weekend!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I watched Baby Mama last night after wanting to see it for a while; it was not nearly as good as I thought it would be.

Hopeful, that is a fantastic fert report. Do you know how many embies you will transfer? I was leaning towards 3 but am scared of triplets. Maybe they are just trying to keep your bladder partially full but not so uncomfortable that you are laying there after ET praying for the minutes to go by quickly so you can get up and pee!

Chris, sorry you are not feeling so hot. I am envious of you hanging out at the beach.

Sabi, how are you feeling?

Summer, getting the nursery together must be fun. There are some really things to choose from.

Kelly, gigi, pooh and jen, I hope things are going well.

I have been checking in quickly but too busy to post. I am feeling a little better, but still have a super sensitive stomach. We leave in one week I can't believe it!

Can someone help me with planning travel dates around a donor's AF and possible ER/ET dates? Gennet is planning on having donor stop bcp's 7/28. I have asked them for more exact dates and the nurse just tells me she will not know until donor starts AF. I have been told there is a range from 7-10 days standard stim. My previous 2 OE cycles I had to stim longer- 11-12 days. We leave next Sunday 8/2 and are trying to put together our trip. Do most people start AF after stopping the pill 1 or 2 days after? I start 1 day after.

Does this scenario make since:
7/28 Donor stops pill
7/29 Donor starts AF & starts Day 1 of Stimms
8/4 Donor triggers
8/6 ER
8/9 3 day ET
8/10 5 day ET

I know it is a fairly simple math process but would appreciate your thoughts. My last 2 cycles never went as planned so it is difficult for me to gauge.

My doc ordered a MRI on my brain and pituitary gland since I can secrete milk out of my breast during self breast exams (have been able to since the birth of my 2 kids 14 & 20). My prolactin level is always within normal limits though. The endocrinologist has me taking bromacriptine to stop it, however it hasn't yet. He said it could possibly cause some implantation issues. The MRI came back normal- So that is good.

Hopeful, I am... was a runner too. But after transfer... no more running!!! Now I walk on the treadmill and keep up with my yoga. One day we will run again, but we have more important things to do now. Great Fert. report!!! About the water... they like a fullish bladder when doing transfer, helps them get to where they need to get.

Evergreen, glad MRI came back normal. Sorry I can't help you with the travel dates, etc. My RE set up everything for us and timed it all accordingly. I never knew the details of the donor's cycle. I think everyone is different and they can't predict how long someone will be on stimms. Good luck with plans.

Carolyn, I am so tired too. It can be hard to post sometimes, but I am always so glad to read everyone's updates. How are you doing? Has it sunk in yet? Yes, I told my beach friends... they are very excited. Two of them are trying right now to get pregnant. One it will be her first child and the other has a two year old. It sure would be nice if they were pregnant soon, it would really make future summers a lot of fun at the beach.

Hey Summer, how are you? How are you feeling? I'm thinking of you.

Hi to all of you... hope all is well. I think of you all the time but just don't get to post that often. Be well.
XOXO

Hopeful
was just looking back through my diary to see if i could help you with dates - I know that when I got my Af they told ED to stop BCP and it was like 6 days later that she started AF - that was a friday and she had ER 12 days later - I then had 5 day transfer - I know it is so difficult to get everything coordinated - think i went for lining check on the friday and emailed clinic to tell them all was ok and they emailed back to say ER would be the tuesday so just booked my flights from there - we flew out the sunday and stayed till following monday.

Hope that helps a bit - i know how frustrating it is - if like me you are a control freak its just so frustrating when everything is sooo out of your control

Good luck honey xxx

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing, hope all is well.

Stef, I think we are leaning towards putting 2 in, as we are also scared of triplets. It will all depend on how the embryos are doing. We are hoping with 14 fertilized we'll at least have 2 high quality blasts. With our first DE cycle we only had 5 embryos at transfer time and they weren't that great, so we really wanted 3 but our doctor talked us out of it, saying there was a high possibility of triplets using a donor ... uh-huh, when it ended up a chemical he wrote a letter (form letter) saying he was sorry it didn't work but the embryos just weren't that high of quality. We were sooo mad. Needless to say, we are with a new doctor. Glad to hear your MRI came out normal. As far as your schedule, I looked back at our time table and they had our donor stop BCP on 7/7 and they had the tentative retrieval date for 7/24. 7/24 turned out to be the day, so just over 2 weeks from end of pills to retrieval for us and then a 5 day transfer. Hope that helps!

Chris, did you walk on the treadmill after the transfer? I've been told I should at least wait until our first beta test. Did you do yoga before, or did you start with the pregnancy? I've never done it and wonder if that would be ok to start? Sounds like you are keeping yourself healthy, even if you can't run ... good for you!

Carolyn, thank you for all of the information and support. You are correct that it is difficult when you have no control over things. My DH kept asking me what day the transfer was going to be, so he knew what day to take off. I kept telling him I had to wait for the clinic to tell me and they couldn't tell me until after the retrieval ... he asked everyday last week and the transfer wasn't until Friday

This has been one long post, so I hope everyone is doing well!

Hopeful,
I stopped all exercise after transfer. I was doing yoga before, but not for too long. I did not start the treadmill or yoga again until 10weeks under the advise of RE. Even now I walk at a pretty slow pace and I do the gentle yoga classes. Take it slow.

Chris, thanks for the info. Yes, with my first cycle they told me I could walk following the 3 days of bedrest. However, my 2nd and 3rd I didn't do anything. Well, after I got my positive on my second cycle they said I could walk my dog slowly around the block, but then we never got a heartbeat, so I'm taking it very easy this time.

We did get an update on the eggs. Of the 14 that fertilized, 12 are rated good and 2 fair. They rate on a good, fair, poor scale. This was really helpful in keeping a PMA for this cycle :D

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Hopeful,
that report sounds great. It's QUALITY. Remember... we had a shared cycle. We got 5 mature eggs, four fertilized and they transfered 2. Now I am pregnant with twins!!! You have a very good chance here!!! Stay positive.

My husband asked me earlier if I was getting prepared for morning sickness as I am sitting here cupping my ginger tea hoping the nausea will subside. He did laugh and sympathize with what we go through to have a baby. My body is not tolerating the prednisone and estrofem well.

I am waiting on info about donor's AF- she should go off the pill today, so hopefully it will show up soon.

I read another board where a lady that was expecting twins was standing on the scale and could not believe her eyes that she had gained 55 lbs in one week until her husband and nurse burst out laughing; her husband had his foot on the scale as well! Men can be so stupid

Steph, sorry to hear you are still feeling the nausea ... any word on ED's AF yet? We are suppose to stay stress free but all this waiting can drive one crazy.

So, we had the transfer today ... we ended up transferring 2 blasts, one was a beginning blast and one was an intermediate. Being at a different clinic this time it is interesting to see how different the protocol is for bed rest and what you can and can't do. I'm suppose to be laying down for 48 hours. I can prop up my back with pillows, but no sitting in a chair. I'm only allowed up to use the restroom. They also said no guests or phone calls ... it is to be my quiet time. They asked my DH if he was going to be home for the entire 48 hours and when he said no, they looked at him like he was abandoning me. Last time I was told I could get up to eat, make a snack, take a shower.

Chris and Carolyn, hope you are both doing well and that I'll be right behind you with a positive test!

My DH is chopping up pineapple as I type ...
