Katie- I have heard the same thing about dry max. The reviews I have read are that they love the Pampers sensitive. My BFF swears by Pampers. I guess if they don't have the cut out you could fold it down or cut it out yourself???
I'm happy Savannah moved off that nerve! Phew..now dear baby girl..you stay off mommy's nerve. Er...lol.
DH is more than willing to help with my mom. She's the only family I have which is why we moved her here from KS. She only lives 1 mile from us. He already takes her to the Dr sometimes when I have to work. She loves him like the son she never had. :)

Natasha- How exciting to be so close to your anatomy scan. Mine is at 20w...so another month. I'm dying to know too. :)

Babyluv- Phooie for not being able to see both girls. Hopefully next week!

gi- LOL at your nephew. I remember thinking the exact same thing when I was a kid. Clothes are not presents...they are a requirement. I mean my mom had to put clothes on me...she didn't have to get me toys. LOL

AFM- I think I may give in and order a doppler. Any suggestions on which one to get I woke up today feeling like someone was stabbing me in the side. It literally took my breath away. It went away when I rolled to the other side but wowzer...that HURT!
me 34- PCOS
DH 35- perfect

Pa - I got a cheap doppler that worked just fine, so much so that my pg friends have been passing it around. lol I haven't seen it in weeks. Which is fine with me since I don't feel the need for it anymore. Not with as much as thse kids are kicking my arse! Anyway, I got the Baby Sound for $40 off of Amazon. It doesn't have the wand, but it is small, and has the digital lcd read out of the heartbeat. I found it easy to use at first... I say at first because soon after I got it my babies decided to become very active. I ended up just listening to them move all over the place and sometimes I would get the heartbeat. lol

Katie - To answer your diaper question... the cut out means nothing. lol Usually the baby is too small for the cut out to really do anything anyway and you have to fold in the top of the diaper. This is all you do with newborn diapers that don't have the hole cut out. Even an 8lb baby (my first) I had to fold it under because the newborn pamper with the hole cut out was still too big. Funny you mention this because I was just teaching Andrew how to fold the diaper down for the cord. We got the pampers swadlers and were putting them away when I decided to show him. All you do is fold under, not over, the top front of the diaper and then attach the tabs. This makes it so the tabs are not in the right place, but that's ok. The baby will grow fast and you won't have to keep this up for long. You will notice that even nurses in the hospital will use this technique. :) As far as brand. I have used them all... a decade ago. lol Not sure what is good now or not and haven't heard about the dri max causing rashes. I don't see it an issue to try it and just make sure that you use the needed measures to keep your baby from getting rashes. Properly cleaning and changing the diaper when it is needed, some people think when it says "upto 15lbs" that it means keep it on until there is 15lbs of poo in it. Also always use diaper rash protection cream like Desitin. It has to be put on thick enough to see, don't rub it in or it won't help baby's bottom. You won't believe how many mom's I see letting their kids run around in saggy full diapers. I wonder if some of these mom's are the one's blaming dri max? lol Seriously though, if you try the diapers with dri max and come to find it's an issue even with following all the proper diaper rash preventions, then maybe change. However, even with using precautions your baby can still get rashes. It is bound to happen every now and again. Hope all this helps. lol As for me, I am well! Still at home and no immediate signs of going into labor yet. lol It will remain hot here for a while yet, though it has broke out of the 100's lately. YAY! Thanks for the comment about my mom. You are right, her ring gave me twin juju. lol I took it off to paint the other night and forgot to put it back on so I almost freaked. Like something in my head tells me that if I don't wear it that something bad will happen. Silly me, but I went and put it back on anyway. lol Oh and those "wives meetings" I just don't go. I am a civilian, can't make me do shit. lol If my husband isn't forced to go drink coffee with his officers, then I don't have to go drink tea with their wives. :) Glad your pain is gone now. Hopefully she behaves and stays off that nerve!! Savannah... be a good girl and no hurt the mama! ;)

Babyluv - Sorry to hear the girls were not really cooperating today. I am sure it was still pretty cool to see them, what you did get to see that is, in 4D. I hope next week is much better for you. I have thought about getting the 4d, but I just can't bring myself to spend the money on it. lol I will get to meet them soon anyway right? If I had the extra cash though, I would. Alex is doing great her first week, thanks for asking. :) She says she is on track for straight A's and staying out of drama at school. lol

Gi - You almost made me start leaking from my face holes when you mentioned my mom watching down on me in the rocker. lol Had to fight the tears off, but it definately brought a smile to my face to think of her watching over me and being proud of me. This is actually not Alex's first boyfriend. Last year the whole BF/GF thing got huge at school and everyone was asking everyone to "go out with them". Makes no real difference, they don't go on dates or even call each other. lol This boy texts her though... a lot! I had to upgrade the text messaging package to unlimited to make sure I wasn't paying an arm and a leg on my bill. It was only an extra 5 a month and she agreed to do an extra chore to pay for it. lol Jason is your first boyfriend? How cute is that? That must make your relationship just that much more special! Cute story about your nephew!

Natasha - Yay for the scan coming up soon! I bet that will be exciting. I am just a little confused on your due date changing. Why did they change it considering you had IVF? Both my babies have been measuring a week or more ahead this whole time but no one ever changed my date because of the accuracy of the whole IVF process. lol Though the perinatologist that I go to tells me that because they are acting like they are farther along, they should act that way out of the whomb as well. So it is nice to know that say I go into labor today, that they should act like 31 or 32 week old babies. That helps ease my mind a bit. :) I don't get to enjoy my due date anyway since they will be taken early regardless.

Claudia - Ummm... where is this big toosh that everyone is noticing? lol Big belly, check... big arse... negetive. You look to be all belly to me. Adorable as ever! I think people should pause, insert foot and leave it there so they can't speak anymore. lol Your butt looks great. Maybe what they are seeing is more your new posture since the belly is getting heavy and causing you to arch your back, giving the illusion of a bigger toosh?

Angela - I am taking it easy, no worries. :) Yesterday I don't think I got up to do anything except go to the bathroom. lol It was a lazy day and between Andrew and Alex helping bring me things, it was even more lazy. I still had a lot of contractions though they were BH of course. I wonder if any of them are making cervical changes or not. I don't see my ob again until Sept 8th so we will see what he says then, but I don't see him ordering me the prog or anything else if he hasn't already. He just doesn't see me as a big risk for preterm labor I suppose?

AFM - I am doing well. Still having BH no matter what I do or don't do. Last night my belly was aching on top of a few contractions. I figured it was just the babies' positions since they decided to go sideways on me. Now Ethan like to play with mommy's pelvic and cervix area. I know the placenta is covering the cervix but I must feel him punching and kicking that sucker right through it. Owie! He is so ornery already! lol I kept whining under my breath over the belly pain last night and Andrew would ask if I was ok, I said yes of course. I also said, no worries, if it is true contractions I will be waking you up in a few hours when they start to hurt. lol The way my body was treating me last night I got (yet again) the overwhelming feeling like this is going to happen sooner rather than later. Just 5 more weeks though! Such a simple stretch of time seems almost out of reach. Only time will really tell though. Oh.. my subconscious didn't listen to some of you who told it not to have anymore bad dreams. lol Thanks to my BH and belly pain last night I am sure it triggered yet another one. Where I started bleeding and was stuck at a crappy hospital where they just put me in the waiting room while I bled. This is what happened to me when I thought I was miscarrying and went to the Army hospital so I am sure that is a fear of mine deep down. Why can't I dream about Jonathan Rhys Meyers naked or something? lol

Gah! That darn nerve pain has been threatening to start up full force again, so much for a good day yesterday, huh? Its making it really hard to get anything done when as soon as I feel it starting I have to drop whatever I was doing and go lay down for awhile. Whew, I have so much respect for anyone who is stuck on bed rest - its so hard to stay horizontal all day. Savannah has been super active all morning too - she's doing a good job of kicking me all over right now  I think she doesnt like all the leaning forward I do to when I'm on the computer either  I guess its like she 's thinking "if you keep leaning forward and squishing me, I'll just keep kicking you!" - haha

Pa - Yeah, I've heard good reviews on the Pampers sensitive also, I think thats what I'll try to find next. But I have found out that they only make them without the dri max for sizes newborn and 1, after that they all have this dri max stuff. Oh, it sounds like you're having those round ligament pains - they hurt, especially if you move too fast - like when you're getting up, turning ove, or bending too fast, and they're sharp too! It really took me awhile to learn the hard way that I have to move a little slower, oh and walking too fast brought them on too - loads of fun, yes?

Steph - Ah, thank you so much honey, that helped alot! - what would I do without you? Now this diaper situation was bugging me, I would have tried to fold it over, to keep the plastic part off of the skin, but I bet it wouldnt have held very well. I went to the pampers website and they say that this dri max is the best new technology that they've had in 25 years. And they said that there are so many other factors that contribute to diaper rash ( improper hygiene, baby on antibiotics, fever, teething) but its true that you dont know who writes these reviews, it can absolutely be the idiots that dont change & clean the baby properly every time. Just to err on the side of caution I'll try to avoid the dri max until size 2 when hopefully I wont feel so clueless anymore
I can imagine how you've been feeling, the skin on my belly feels so tight. like its stretched as much as it can - I know you've got to be feeling the same way
(and Hazel too! ) I guess its just hard to accept that my body has put the brakes on me running all over these past two weeks, I mean before 30 weeks, I felt great, energetic, and since hitting 30wks, what a difference! sort of like my body said "ok, thats it for you, you have to slow down" haha
You just wear your Mom's ring, nothing bad will happen if you dont, but it gives you peace of mind and thats what counts - especially when you're pregnant with 2 babies! Ummm, ok so no more dreams like that one, ok? You dont have to go to an Army hospital, so dont even waste your dream time on that - but hot naked guys? well thats worth dreaming about! - much love twin mama - xoxoxo

PA_FA – Lol… you are so right! These beds at the Marriott are soooo comfortable!

I did the same thing and asked the ladies which Doppler they order and ordered one around 16 weeks. I ended up ordering the Sonoline B Fetal Prenatal heart monitor from Amazon.com. The total cost including the gel was $57.80. It works very well but sometimes I have a hard time getting her to stay still to get a good reading!

Gi – I love the story about your 3 year old nephew. He sounds so very cute. I love kids around that age!

Babyluv – Sorry to hear about how your 4D turned out. There is a place that is just around the corner from our house called New Beginnings and we are going to have a 4D around 30+ weeks to see Gabriella up close. You are right though; they said that if she doesn’t cooperate when we do the u/s they will have us back at no charge. I am sure that next time will be much better!

Katie – I am trying to take your advice and take it easy but I think I overdid it last night. I will explain when I talk about myself below. But, I hope you are able to get some relief from Savannah pushing on that nerve. I saw were you posted the pain was threatening to come back again … I surely hope not!

Stephanie – I hope the BH aren’t too bad. You are so very close like you said just 5 more weeks and we will finally meet Angelina and Ethan!

AFM – My DH and I went to a very good restaurant/bar last night. They had very good food and a live band. Of course, I kept looking around saying I can’t believe I am sitting in here 6 months pregnant … lol. The chairs were pretty uncomfortable and I became sore pretty early but the music was good so we stayed a little longer. Well, we ended up coming back to hotel pretty late and then I finally took my nightly meds and went to sleep. Around 4 am, I woke up with a severe pain where I thought I was being stabbed in the stomach. I thought maybe the food didn’t agree with me so I tried to go to the bathroom with no luck! I finally figured out that this was a true contraction because it felt like bad menstrual cramps. Thank god it was finally relieved by Tylenol and some rest; all though it took well over an hour for that to happen. I have to tell you ladies that it was the scariest moment because I kept thinking, it is way too early! But, today I feel much better except for a little dizziness and upset stomach. We are planning to go to a nice steakhouse inside of a casino tonight but I will take it easy!

angela- yes we have names picked out. Andre jr or nataleah. the only weird thing is my sister found out she's having a girl and she told me she's thinking of naming her daughter talia which is the same name but abbeviated from natalia. but i thought we'd spell it nataleah so i can call her leah abbreviated lol. so now i have no idea what to do but wait and see what we're having and then go from there. i just cant believe that it seems we're going to fight about everything. first was the baby shower date and now names man o man. i so didnt think i would have to go thru this once i finally got pregnant. but i told her we had these names picked out since november and we're not going to change our minds so i guess the worse is they have almost the same name not a big deal. so i just registered and bought my stuff for school and im finally starting my first semester clinicals and im going to go full time this semester so i can take next semester off. i just hope it wont be too overwhelming but im excited too

gi- yeah i believe you'd remember the honey moon trip since you secured me i'd be ok and to relax and enjoy the trip. and look we had success. thanks

pa fa- they said at 16 weeks they would look and find out but i went for my 16 week check up and they said we'll do it at 18 weeks so i guess we'll just wait. no coice but its coming up soon already next week.

stephanie- the ivf dr went by the ivf calender at first and gave me the date of feb 7th then they went off the ultrasound and got feb 13th. but then when i saw the ob they said to stick with the feb 7th date becuz we did ivf an going by the procedure so i guess thats why they changed it. so i guess this anatamy scan will tell more os im excited to no for sure or more accurate.

thanks ladies and im so excited to find out the gender and beging to start my baby registry and stuff for the baby shower.
all of you have a nice weekend and great week.

Natasha - I am sorry that your pregnancy is becoming so difficult concerning your sister but don’t worry, you and your DH pick whatever name that you want to because you are supposed to enjoy this time.

Your story reminds me of my DH’s family. His sister is named Natalie and their first cousin is named Natalee. They are the exact same age and their mother’s are the same age. So when they were both pregnant with the Natalies they both wanted to name their baby the same name and they did but just spelled it differently. In time, their names didn’t mean anything and the Natalie’s became like sisters instead of first cousins.

So it will all work out you just wait and see! I can’t wait to hear about your anatomy scan!

Oh, by the way … congrats on starting your clinicals! Just remember to try not to overdo it. Your first semester shouldn’t be too bad so I think you will be fine. My first clinical in nursing was very general and not too stressful. Let me know what your area on study is in or if I can be of any assistance to you through your program.

I hope that you all had a good weekend. It seems a little quiet around here, I hope thats because all is well with everyone and no one has anything new going on... its funny how with pregnancy quiet is good!, isnt it? I seem to have spent most of the weekend laying down ( the nerve pain is back, but on & off) so as soon as I feel it starting, I get off my feet and hope that it passes quickly. I also notice that my lower belly is really tender if I'm on my feet for even an hour straight, so my body is definitely feeling this lately - I say ow, ow, ow more than I say anything else these days - anyone else having these issues? I hate to feel like a whiner, but its hard to think that this is how I'm going to feel for another 8 weeks???? eeeek! - much love to you all - xoxoxo

angela- ya i said the same thing its only a name not a big deal. its not like i see my sister everyday anyways so it'll be fine if we end up having a girl too. andre really wants DS but he also says a girl will be just as fine too you cant really be mad over gender at this point just be happy with either as long as we made it this far. maybe after a few yrs we'll do it all over again ivf anyways. i was with my brother and he was telling me thursday that my sister was ttelling him we were fighting i said absolutely not. i said she can do whatever she wants but so she knows we're not changing anything so you know just they'll have the same name. no biggie he just laughed. to me it whatever. im not making a huge deal about it anyways but he mentioned it to me. its funny cuz my mom asked us last month in july if we picked out any names and we told her nataleah and andre jr. so when she found out my sister picked talia she told her of course i did so she knew i didnt pick it to just make her mad i actually had the name picked out for a long time now. but anyways, yes i hope its not to bad this semester but i heard it'll be ok. i'll let you know if i need any assistance for anything thanks. im cant wait for next wednesday to go to that scan.

Hey girls, just wanted to check in quickly and say that I'm still here, no sign of labour yet but have just been busy making the most of a bank holiday with DH, so haven't had time to post. Promise to catch up on personals and be more active on the thread this week, Zorba permitting!

Katie - you should definitely speak to your OB about your pain. I know someone who suffered badly from sciatic pain through her pregnancy and was in excruciating pain. Her doctor sent her to an osteopath who made a big difference, although even that didn't make it pain free. Acupuncture can also help, I understand. So please do ask some questions, because the risk is that as you get bigger and your pelvis starts moving, things may get worse. Take care, sweetie.

Steph - all OK with you? Hope you're not suffering too much from your various aches/pains, and those babies are staying put!!

Hey girls,

Hazel your ticker is now at 8 days!!!! Its just a waiting game now, best of luck xxxx

Katie oh no the pain is back how uncomfortable i can only imagine how long 8 wks sounds when its really acting up!!!! Jason finished the nursery and its lovely, got a butterfly theme going on with subtle shades of pink my sis is to come and take pics and put them on here for me. I had to go check what diapers i have - so i have Pampers max dri i am so clueless when it comes to diapers i cant even give an opinion :?

Steph 5wks you can do it!! Ethan and Angelina sound like a lively pair and you are gonna have your hands full  Isnt it so cute that Alex is texting her boyfriends you are right to get better coverage or she will cost you a fortune!!

PA oh i remember those pains ouch!!! I still get the odd one if i turn over too quickly in bed its like a knife stabbing me in the sides though the 1st one was the worst and scariest!!

Angela i hope your pain went away, little Gabrielle needs to hang on for another while!! Glad to hear you are enjoying your break.

Natasha you are right to stick with your names its what you've always dreamed of and you had to go the long hard road to get here so enjoy every moment and dont let your sis get to you. Cant wait to hear what you are having.

AFM so tmi time  am i the only one or has anyone else suffered from piles/haemorrieds??? Never had i had them before but after washing meself in the shower the other night i was like wtf??? Uggh how disgusting but my pg book says very common in pregnancy esp. if constipated ( i am a little but nothing major), i will tell my OB on wed but i think they just clear up after birth i suppose if this is the worst that happens then so be it!!
So as i said above the nursery is complete, all her little clothes washed and hanging and her buggy is set up. My mam put a huge hamper together for me with all the things i would never have thought of...colic drops, cradle cap shampoo, thermometers etc all i need now is Kayla to arrive though not too soon!!!! I keep walking into the nursery and welling up....OMG i am having a baby

gi xxx
7th IVF finally our precious miracle girl Kayla born 24/11/10, 8th IVF FET Sept 2012 BFP!!!

Katie – Yes, you don’t have much longer either so I think we are reaching the uncomfortable stages now. I feel like a 90 year old woman now. I am waddling like a duck and moving slowly like a turtle … lol. I hope the next 8 weeks are enjoyable for you.

Natasha – I am glad that you aren’t letting your sister get to you. You just sit back and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. I forgot to ask, is your first semester really a quarter so just until December? My nursing school was set up in quarters but I know a lot of schools are semesters. My Master’s program was semester, which wasn’t too bad.

Hazel – I was hoping that when I read your post that you were telling us that Zorba was here. I am sure it will not be much longer.

Gi – I have feared hemorrhoids during this pregnancy. I had a lot of constipation early in my pregnancy but it has eased up since the first trimester. I would call your OB because they might authorize you to use the over the counter meds to help shrink it.

Yeah, for the nursery being completed! We will be starting very soon on Gabriella’s.

Stephanie, Sara, Babyluv, & Bei – Here are some internet articles (links) that I just received by email for twin mommies.

AFM – Well, we came back from our vacation yesterday evening because I had an early morning doctor’s appointment, which took about 2 plus hours. During my last appointment 3 weeks ago, I asked one of the doctors in the practice, who saw me that day, if I could come back for my next appointment in 3 weeks because my DH drives me and likes to be there but the next Monday is a holiday and of course she said no problem. Then she told me that since I have the clotting disorder that they are going to increase my Heparin dosage and I have to have every four week complete scans starting at 24 wks because after 20 weeks her growth can be slowed. But, I told her the next time that I would be at the main hospital that I would only be 23 weeks but turning 24 later in the week. She said no problem just go ahead and schedule it anyway. So I did … when we got there, the u/s tech refused to do the full scan because I am not officially 24 weeks. So we told her about our conversation w/ the doctor and she said I will ask … she came back and said you need to wait until next week. I immediately became furious because we were told something else and I explained that I didn’t have the time to do it next week because of work so she reluctantly did it and Gabriella is doing just fine and growing well! She weighs 1.5 pounds! No wonder I am feeling so winded lately ... lol. So, I guess that is all that matters.

Ladies - I forgot to tell everyone that while we were on vacation my manager sent me a text message to ask if it was ok that my co-workers threw my another baby shower. So it looks like I will be having another baby shower on Oct. 23rd. I think it will mostly be co-workers, etc. But, I think it is so very nice of them to do this for Gabriella.

Have a great night ladies!
