hello everyone,
I am 9 weeks 5 days today. I rented a doppler and it came in the mail last night. I used it last night and this morning and couldn't hear a heartbeat. I am so nervous. Is it too soon? I hope I didnt' miscarry.

Donna

Happy Holidays!!!

Lyly good luck tomorrow! My Chinese doc said that m/s at night is the sign of a boy...he was right.
I think we should do a poll when everyone finds out the sex to see if all these myths hold true. The other one is that no m/s also means a boy.

Doddo I don't know what to tell you...i think you would know if you'd had a miscarriage. I didn't hear the heartbeat until the 11 week U/S & I'm assuming a home doppler isn't going to be very strong. Remember...it's a tiny tiny thing at this point. I thought that home dopplers were more for the end of pregnancy to make sure there was no fetal distress in certain people.
I'm sure everything is fine!!

hi,
I rented the doppler through www.babybeat.com It is the same as what Dr's use.
So how many of you are telling friends and family the good news on Christmas?

Donna- I definitely think it is just too early. My ob wouldn't even listen to the hb by doppler in the office the other day and I was one day shy of 12 weeks. She told me they can hear it after 12 weeks so don't lose hope.

AFM- I had my nt scan today and the u/s tech said the baby looks perfect. The baby measured one day ahead of schedule (12 wks 5d) and the neck fold was fine. Now I just have to wait for the results of my blood work and hopefully that will come back negative.

Rinnie- Night m/s a boy huh? Interesting. I guess we will see how right the chinese doc is with me

Rinnie, congratulations on finding out you're having a boy! Now you can really start planning what to buy, how to decorate, etc. I can't wait to find out myself. And looking forward to the 12 week u/s. I don't know if anyone ever saw that episode of Friends where Rachel couldn't see her baby, but that's sort of how I feel!

Jerseygal, glad to hear your b/w came back fine. Good luck on Friday and keep us posted. BTW, no offense here. Hope you have a merry Christmas too!

Marina, I know, I figured they would have seen if there was more than one by now. I'm just glad I have a healthy one. Let us know how your next u/s goes on Monday.

Lyly, that's totally understandable about not adding another med to your list. I have taken them sparingly. Congrats on good nt results. When will you get the b/w results? I'm wondering how long I might have to wait after my appt next week.

Doddo, I'm still holding out for my 12 week marker so won't be telling everyone until then. I can't believe I've held out this long. What about you?

Hi guys!
Lyly-very happy for you! :D

Donna-it is definately too early, last time I was PG they didn't even listen until 12 weeks and even then it takes some time and experience to find the heartbeat. It took them quite long time ,which made me nervous every time.

About m/s and baby's sex-when I was PG very first time,I was sick all day long for 7 months-it was a girl,second time-sick in the morning,sometimes until 2 p/m for 4 months-boy,last time-no m/s-boy,this time no m/s,twins and we will see! So,go figure!

Praying for a miracle baby to stay with us!
It's a girl!

lyly congrats on the scan, that's great news. Fingers are crossed for the b/w!

Now with Marina's info, it'll be interesting. She did have wicked m/s with a girl though & they say it's always worse with a girl. Tough to judge though if it's your first :)

wonderce hopefully you can tell at 12weeks. It is so nice to have a couple less things to wonder about :)

hi everyone!
Rinnie-so happy you are having a boy and everything looks wonderful!

Donna-that is so great you were able to pick up the heartrate on the doppler-early too!
We thought about renting one-but i think it would worry us too much if we didn't hear it. also with 2 I think it might be hard to hear two different distinct heartbeats. I feel like we are already so worried that would be just another thing to add to the list!

Lyly-so glad all looks good! praying your BW does as well.

bridget and I are doing well-bridget still gets very worried we are going to have a repeat of last time. I think with her not having any symptoms of m/c last time-that is what worries her mostly. I am trying to reassure her and tell her we are much further along than last time and the further along the better our chances are of not miscarrying. it's such a delicate thing and we are doing our best to stay positive. :D We almost are happy when she has a wave of nausea which i know may sound weird but it gives her alot of reassurance!

Our next US is January 5th-I think we have decided not to do BW or CVS as it will not change what we do.

Rinnie-you made a good point about percentages-we all get so worried but when it comes down to it-it's still only 1-5% depending on age which is small.

so glad everyone is doing well!
we are moving right along ladies!

Marina, that's interesting about the m/s and genders. It might be fun to make some guesses!

Rinnie, yes it will be nice to have a better look at my little one next week, and hopefully will be able to see a lot more this time. It's still so exciting that you know you're having a boy already!

Doddo, I'm wondering now if we should invest in a doppler. I'd love to be able to hear my baby's heartbeat in between OB visits. Did you order your's online?

KB, glad to hear you and Bridget are feeling good. I think with each week we make it through, we should all feel reassured that hopefully there won't be any problems. I wish we had the option of getting u/s more frequently though. The waiting is so hard! I know you're looking forward to your next u/s after the New Year.

So has anyone had problems with constipation? I know, gross question. But seriously, I've had 2 instances, one of which was yesterday where I thought I was going to have to go to the ER for the pain. It's like I have to go really bad and can't, and it lasted a good 24 hours. I've been taking stool softeners, but not everyday because I didn't want to get dependant on them. Anyway, after that didn't work, DH went to the pharmacy and picked up some Milk of Magnesia. Still nothing. I was in tears last night from the pain. I tried a suppository. Finally I had some relief this morning but of course was the opposite of what I had yesterday. Sorry TMI. I just worry about my poor little baby feeling the effects of this and hope he/she is safe in there. Any thoughts?

Wondercare,I'm having the same ugly problem for a few days now.Today I was able to go-what a relief! I had this in the begining, right after the transfer and now again!
Here is what I found on constipation

http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/e ... moves.aspx

I felt like overfilled baloon last night.Got some prune juice and dry prunes, but last night after that cocktail was not fun-it was a revolution in my stomach without a relief :(
Drinking tons of water didn't help much-only running to the bathroom a million times a day.But today is my day! :D
Ask your doc what med. is safe to take if nothing else helps.

Marina, sorry to hear we are both sharing this problem. At least we both got some relief today! Thanks for the website link. It was actually really helpful and had some other interesting links at the bottom on the same topic. I'm going to pick up some prune juice the next time I'm in the grocery store. I hear it's an acquired taste, but I'll try anything to keep this from happening again! I also plan to talk to my doctor later this week so hopefully she'll have some advice too. I'll let you know if she recommends anything helpful that you might benefit from too. :D

Great news!!!
I had testing done on Friday.
First you meet with the genetics person and they are so doom and gloom. I guess it's their job to tell you everything that is possible.
Then we met with the ultrasound people and the Doctor doing the CVS.
First they did the Nuchal test and that came back normal. We went ahead and did the CVS anyway because of the background of the Doctor and his work will multiples.
He was just wonderful. And it was very quick and not painful at all.
The hospital called today after 3:00 and told us that everything is normal.
It was like being on the 2WW once again. The feeling was just terrible even though we were given good prospects before getting the offical results.
Anyway, I am sorry that I just keep going on about myself.

You are all in my thoughts and everything is going to work out well for all of us on the board here.

Talk to you all soon,

S.

jerseygal I'm so glad everything went well! Are you going to get the sex of the babies? It was like the 2WW all over again, but the relief of knowing everything is ok is so worth it.

Marina & Wonderce Yep...I'm suffering a bit too. Not excrutiating pain but definately uncomfortable. I made some poop paste  Yes...not terribly appealing but it did help. Just mix pure bran, prune juice & apple sauce together to a paste. Take a couple tablespoons twice a day. Start out slowly in case you're sensitive. Prunes or prune juice alone is good but the bran gives it an extra kick.
My OB also said right now I could take a different pre-natal that didn't have as much iron.

kb Glad all is well. I'm still feeling the nausea...hoping it starts calming down soon. Some days will be ok & some it's all day and night. Yuck!

Going in tomorrow for another U/S....can't wait to see it really looking like a baby :)

hi all! we had an US today-they wanted to check on the cyst/pain on right side bridget had. all is great! both babies are measuring right along-baby a 2 days ahead at 11w1d and the other right on target at 10w6days!
we are so excited and a huge weight feels like it has been lifted off of our shoulders. We feel more confident now and it's a great feeling :)
we also got to hear their heartsbeat which was a wonderful sound!
so glad to hear everyone is doing well!
