Hi Everyone!
Been away this weekend for Family Christmas, but just wanted to drop in and say I've been thinking of you all.
DH and I are talking about our second round of treatment happening sometime in Febuary...All depending if I can get my cycle back on track. Has anyone experienced irregular cycles after the first IVF attempt??? I mean my cycle days are normally every 28 days, last month was 35 days and for December I'm now 3 days late...Seriously I'm thinking it's the birth control they had me on might be throwing my cycle off course, but it's certainly playing with my mind too. I really don't want false hope, so may test tomorrow morning as opposed to waiting till Christmas Day (which is when Scrooge will probably show his face).

But wow what a weekend! My brother and his wife didn't get to make it home with the new baby since he hasn't had all his shots yet. My husband finally told someone everything we've been through, that someone being his dad. I told him this is why I have all of you here. We ALL need someone to talk to, but it's still strange that he was the one who originally wanted to keep this personal and private away from the family and now his dad knows! Make me feel a little uncomfortable around his dad with him knowing, but after the shock wears off, I'll we need to ask for is lots of prayers! Going back to my brother, my own mother suggested that my sister-in-law throw my other sister-in-law (who has the newborn) a surprise party. So you could say this was whether a wild weekend that could of only been better if I had gotten drunk. lol
Anyway I have alot of catching up to do with everyone once I recover, but Leorira will u please add me to the Winter Board?
:D Thanks- Sunshine

Anna - I have trouble keeping up when I'm not cycling.... sometimes I get really jealous of people who are doing betas and u/s when I'm dealing with super-sucky-post-BFN-AF and WTF appts (I'm so happy for you and Ryann, I just wish it could be me too).... I am following y'all though! As I always say to BFP girls - worst case scenario is a miscarriage rate of 20%.... that means an 80% chance you'll have a healthy baby in August/September! Those are great odds! Once you see that heartbeat, your odds of having a healthy baby go up to 95%+! Your beta numbers are great, try to relax.

Kelly - you are too early for symptoms! I never feel any symptoms until about 4.5/5 weeks pregnant! You transferred 3 day embryos? So then transfer day is 3dpo or 0dp3dt... if that was Thursday, today you are 4dp3dt or 7dpo. Are you going to POAS? :) I'm a POAS-pusher!

Rio - I am so sorry for the loss of your twin... :( I don't know what else I can say. Hopefully the other twin will remain healthy and safe.

katie - I'm so excited about your BFP!

Heather - wow, your daughter was really close to being my twins age - my water broke December 25 and they were born December 26 (22 weeks).... I had been due May 1. This is an incredibly hard time of the year.... I wish you peace as we draw closer to Aimee's birthday.

Welcome Jen! - I was also over in "fall".... this had better be it for both of us!

Lauren319 - hi, long time no see. How are you? What are you up to?

AFM - I used to be a big gym buff. Losing weight is extremely difficult for me (I'm now about 185 and 5'4"), but I used to be really in shape (if quite a bit fat). I used to be able to run for 30 minutes.... when we started our first IVF in July 2009, I was told I couldn't run anymore. I started walking/elliptical instead. Then I got pregnant with twins and really cooled off on the working out. I had HG and lost 30lb just by puking everything I ate! ... since then I've been super lazy/depressed. I haven't gained weight, but I definitely feel my stamina suffering. So this morning, I went swimming with 2 friends who swim twice a week before work. 50 laps kicked my butt! I'm going back with them on Thursday. I'll probably take it easy when I start my next cycle, but for now, I'm trying to get back up to where I was.

Taking my BCP and waiting for my appt, one week from today. People ask "why take the pill? isn't there a chance to get pregnant on your own before you start a new cycle?" HA! Our issue is severe MFI, so no. I'd rather be on the pill and control when I get AF rather than take a chance that we will have a miracle in the next 2 weeks! It may be the Christmas season and a time for joy/miracles (I watch too much TV!), but I'm JEWISH! :D

GINGER - Good luck at your ET! Let us know how it went! And don't worry about embryos 'falling out'. My first IVF, I really really filled my bladder and was DYING to pee after my ET.... I got up to pee only 15 minutes after the transfer. Then I spent my 2ww as regular (no bed rest at all - this was before I met you guys and my dr didn't recommend it at all). BOTH of my embryos took! So don't worry about it!

Mishell and Kbillsy - Good luck on betas today! Let us know!

Hi everyone!

I'm new here and am currently in my 2WW and am driving myself crazy. I figured it'd be a good idea to talk to some other lovely ladies who are in my shoes! I had 2 embryos transferred @ 3days on 12/10. We used ICSI and assisted hatching. I took my hCG trigger shot on the evening 12/5. I broke down and did a home pregnancy test which was positive at 8 and 9dp3dt. My beta isn't until 12/27 and I'm going insane thinking about whether or not it could be correct or maybe it is still the hCG trigger shot?
Me: 26, lean PCOS
Husband: 28 and perfect

IVF#1
11/26- Started stims (Bravelle and Menopur)
12/5- hCG trigger
12/7- ER: 22 eggs, 17 fertilized with ISCI
12/10- ET: 2 great embryos treated with assisted hatching
12/13- 6 embryos frozen
12/27- BETA

okay just an update today they were close to seeing that left shy ovary of mine. but ofcourse the doc was just guessing to make me happy. she say oh i think this is the left one but your bladder is full. hell i has just empited the bladder and has a dump to sorry for being gross before you came in. oh well she says there are maybe 2 or 3 but not very sure i cant see good. But on the right you have 3 good looking 19mm,18.5, 17 and a 15mm the rest small. so how about you take your ovidrel and return on wed.
Does it ever get any better than this? should i be happy or sad. i dont know at this point. just taking one day at a time.

Margy- where are you at? a confession i enjoy reading your posts and the flickers make uplift me when am down. so please keep and dont let what happened last week push you away.

Leorira- your turn is coming. remember this journey is one step at a time. we fall but have to pick ourself up and keep on going.
kariberry-congrats. looks like some good news to me. BFP

Katie: Congratulations on your +HPTs!!! As I said on my PM, it’s a good sign that you got one at 10dpo! Can’t wait to hear your beta. And regarding the donation. I think that is a beautiful idea, and I agree with Rio, when you are sure you are finished with your family, I think that would make a lovely gift to the right couple. What a generous heart you have.

Mishell: I am again, so sorry for what you are going through. Especially around the holidays. There is never a “good time” for a loss like that, but the holidays seem to make it especially difficult. ((HUGS)) I am in a similar situation to you—although a bit older—with only one tube and depleted $$ due to IVF so doing IUI. If you have any questions for me let me know.

SD: Thanks for the message and for understanding my intentions. I took a day “off” but I am back now.

Amanda79: Thanks for sharing that silly spoof. Laughter is always appreciated. :D

Tiger/LYD10/Kynlee: How are you ladies doing? I guess a bit early for AF dance for you?

Pauline: Welcome. So sorry for your BFN. It is harder than one could imagine, I know. Wishing you the best of luck with your frosties and with your appt tomorrow.

Ana (with one “n”): How are you doing/feeling in your wait for u/s? When is it scheduled?

Anna: So sorry to hear about your best friend. Please drive safely--especially in this crazy cold weather. I know how much your friend means to you—you are such a good friend, but please take care of yourself and try to keep some emotional distance so you can keep your PMA. I know that is hard when you are close to someone to not feel their pain. :( But, that is a lot of driving and you need your energy. (OK-enough of my lecture). And, yes, my POASing has begun! BFN this morning. Perfect. Trigger is out. Now watch out!

Lou: Glad that you are recovering well from surgery—sorry for that fever scare. Glad you are so vigilant about yourself. Continue to take it easy. And glad that all your #s are looking great! I hope that all moves along according to schedule now!

Kelly (BakersBaby): Chicken soup is the best! Especially this time of year—just what the “doc” ordered. As Rio said, you figure dpo with ER as day “0”.

Rio: I am now 6dpo and counting!! I POAS’d this morning after hearing that Annashope started at trigger!! I didn’t realize what a slacker I was. LOL. BFN which is exactly what I wanted to see. Trigger is gone—so now, watch out as I POAS like crazy. (And yes, I am drinking some Gatorade—although ever since my bout with OHSS, I HATE the stuff. Reminds me of unpleasant times. ) How are you hanging in there? This journey is so tough. I pray every day for your healthy strong bean. And for you.

Ginger: Congratulations on a great fert. report. Good luck today on ET!! No worries…all will be fine. The only tricky part is holding that full bladder! Please feel comfortable to ask any question…nothing is too “silly”. There is a wealth of information with all these smart, strong, educated women here. Your embies will not “fall out”. No worries there. Ok to sleep on your tummy (later in pregnancy they suggest you sleep on your side, but now you are fine however you are comfortable.) Every clinic has different recommendations following transfer. Everything from 3 days bedrest to just “taking it easy”. That is up to you and your RE. But take good care of yourself and let those embies snuggle in to momma! You will be PUPO in a matter of hours! I am praying for you.

Sunshine: Welcome! Sorry about your cycles being off. Glad to have you “over here!” :D

Lauren1171: How are you doing?

Heather: So sorry the weight of your loss from last year is upon you. It is so very difficult. I can’t even imagine your loss. You are truly a very strong woman. Regarding POAS, you and I are pretty close in timing….how “old” were your frosties when they were transferred? I tested today to test out my trigger, but if you didn’t have a trigger, then you can test anytime! Although, to be a bit realistic (which doesn’t really go along with being a true POAS addict. LOL) you might want to wait until at least 8/10dpo. But, you have to realize that it would be unusual to get a BFP that early—more typical would be around 12/13 dpo with some women not getting BFP until 14dpo or later!

Lauren319: I was just thinking about you the other day. How on earth are you? Prayers to you.

Jennifer: Good luck with new RE. Sometimes it really helps to get a new perspective and a better fit. It is definitely helping my PMA! Best of luck with your upcoming cycle!! And welcome (over here).

Leora: 50 laps?! For “first time back”?! I am impressed. BCP makes perfect sense to me. Wishing you a great appt next Monday. This fresh cycle coming up will be yours. I can feel it.

Kari: Welcome!! At 12dpo I would be really shocked it you had any trigger. Especially since you triggered on 12/5? So you are really, today, 15dptrigger? or 13dpo? I say you have yourself a BFP, girl!!! Did you test again today? Is the line nice and dark?! Any way that your clinic would let you go in early --like this week for sure, so you can know before Christmas?! That is what I would recommend.

Nwquiz: Despite the foolish nurse, looks like you have 5-7 possibly mature follies. I say it looks great! I think you are set--although I am mad they wouldn't get your blood levels. No E2? What is that about--ladies, ever hear of that? No level draw on day of trigger for IUI? But, regardless, I think all looks great for you. You will be PUPO in a few days and joining me in the madness of 2ww!

AFM: I am baaaaaaaack. Should be working at work, but look what I am doing? Just for a bit--then back to the grind. Ready to start the POAS battle! I got my BFN today (which for those non-addicts, it is a GOOD thing. Means trigger is out of my system) So there is no stopping me now. Just a matter of WHEN my BFP decides to show up, right?!

I am a Image who else is going to join me as...Image ??

Annas -- Great 2nd beta!!! Congrats to you. :D

Margi -- Ah... you POAS addict!!! LOL. Glad your trigger is out and now you can pee yourself silly watching that second line appear in the next few days. How many DPO are you? I"m optimistic for you this time!

nwquiz -- I've never had my ovary "disappear". That sounds frustrating. But keep positive, you have at least 4 good ones on the other side and once you are in for ER they will push around and likely locate the one that's hiding. It only takes one!

Rio -- Oh no... I'm so sorry you are losing a twin. You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers right now. I'm so glad the other one looks healthy thus far and pray it continues for you. Yes, I was encouraged that my FSH dropped 25% on DHEA... I"m hoping it wasn't coincidental. The plan is to not do BCP's this cycle IF AF comes on time. See my clinic only does ER's certain weeks of the month, based on when their ICSI embryologist is there. If AF comes late due to my surgery (I hope not!) then I will have to cancel and figure something else out because my ER will fall on an "off" week. I'll be doing an OPK to test for ovulation so that will give me a clue AF is on her way since she always comes 13 days post ovulation. I'm due to ovulate 12/25 or 12/26. Let's hope it happens on time!

jkulab -- Good luck on your polypectomy. Thinking of you.

SDtrying -- Thanks so much for your support. Your post brought tears to my eyes. It really means a lot.

txc-- Great fert report... and without ICSI! Good luck on ET! You should be able to also get some frosties too. I'm excited for you.

Lauren319 -- Nice to hear from you. Do you plan on cycling again? You have frosties too, right? I've been wondering about you.

Leora -- Thanks for keeping up the list. You're awesome!

Kariberri -- My guess is BFP! If your HPT's are getting darker and not lighter, then for sure it's a BFP!

Tiger -- Where are ya hun?

Lauren1171 -- I'm sure hoping January is our month!

AFM -- Did some Christmas shopping this weekend. Still have more to do tonight. I find this time of year totally stressful and hectic. I love the whole "Christmas spirit" part but it's the shopping in crowded stores for people whom I don't know what to buy that drives me nuts. I think I need a drink! LOL

I've got everything crossed that AF comes on time so I can cycle in Jan. She was due the day after my surgery, 12/14, but since I had a D&C there wasn't much of a period at all. I'm hoping the surgery doesn't throw off the cycle though. Anyone out there have a D&C before that wasn't after a m/c who knows the answer to that question? My OB said it shouldn't change it, but even 2 days would mean a cancellation for me because my clinic only does ER's certain weeks when one of the ICSI embryologist is there. I go to a small clinic, 2 doctors, which I love but I guess this is the trade off. ****.

Lou - I never thought I would be asked to pray for someones period to come - especially on this board! But here goes I am praying with every fiber of my being, my fingers, toes, legs & arms crossed that it comes perfectly on time so you can get in on this cycle! I am so hopeful!!!!!!!!! As for your surgery/D&C not messing up you cycle - I had a similar surgery a few years back actually I think like 5 years but anyways I do remember having some mild bleeding around the time of surgery but then my period coming on time - because it didn't change my hormone levels just took out a few things that didn't belong in there! Hope that helps!

Kariberri - Welcome to the 2WW - Sounds like you have a BFP - Keep POAS!!!! And post results!

Annshope - Excellent Beta Numbers!!!

Heather - Get to POAS Girl! Inquiring minds want to know :-) At first if you don't succeed try try again!!!

Margi - Welcome back - glad to have you back :)

Everyone else hope you are doing well and taking it one day at a time - one trick I use sometimes when I want time to move faster is whatever time of day it is I say to myself by this time tomorrow I will be that much closer to ...... or by this time tomorrow I will feel a little better or whatever - because 1 day never seems that long to me - so keep your chins up for whatever phase of this process you are moving through right now & take it one day at a time

AFM - Have my beta on Friday can't wait!! And a little giggle for everyone - thought this one was cute:

The Black Bra

I had lunch with 2 of my unmarried friends. One is engaged, one is a mistress, and I have been married for 20+ years.
We were chatting about our relationships and decided to amaze our men by greeting them at the door wearing a black bra, stiletto heels and a mask over our eyes. We agreed to meet in a few days to exchange notes.......

Here's how it all went.

My engaged friend:
The other night when my boyfriend came over he found me with a black leather bodice, tall stilettos and a mask.
He saw me and said, 'You are the woman of my dreams. I love you.' Then we made passionate love all night long.

The mistress:
Me too! The other night I met my lover at his office and I was wearing a raincoat, under it only the black bra, heels and
Mask over my eyes. When I opened the raincoat he didn't say a word, but he started to tremble and we had wild sex all night.

Then I had to share my story:
When my husband came home I was wearing the black bra, black stockings, stilettos and a mask over my eyes.
When he came in the door and saw me he said,

(you are going to love this…..)

WANTED TO SHARE NEW STUDY INFO

Have you had your Vitamin D levels checked? Study shows women with higher vitamin D levels doing IVF had higher clinical pregnancy rates. Mine came back a bit low at 25 (normal 30-80 but for IVF levels of 50-80 are recommended). My doc just put me on 50,000 units once a week plus 2,000 units daily. Read abstract below.
