Hi ladies, I have a question for you. My girl - still in my belly - seems to be measuring on the small size. 30% in leg and abnomen size and 12% in head size from what I could tell on the us machine today. She is 21 weeks estational age today. I am waiting for the doc to call me. My first DS was over 50% all during pregnancy so I never head to worry about it.

I think, in general, girls tend to be smaller than boys at birth. However, my first son was always 90 percentile for height and 75 percentile for weight. Yet, my younger son always measured smaller. Even now, he stays at or below 50 percentile for weight and 40 percentile for height. It just depends on the genes, I think. My dad is about 6'2", but my mom is about 5'1". My husband is 6', but his dad is about 5'10". He gets his height from his mom's side of the family. His older brother is shorter like their father. If they have not detected a problem, I would try not to worry about it. Don't borrow trouble, the price of interest is too high.

Lyd, I've got the opposite issue... Mr. Baby is really big and has excessive amniotic fluid. What they are doing for me is having me do my GD testing early (passed 1 hour, still have to do 3 hour) and they are going to rescan him in two weeks. From what the doctor said, if I don't have GD, he might just have had a growth spurt or he might just be a big guy.
Perhaps your baby is just about to have a growth spurt. Are they going to rescan you soon?

Happy Bunny -- I love the picture of Brooke standing up on her own. I can't believe she's walking! How time goes by. Chloé can stand if she holds on to something. She can *almost* crawl. She sits up well and rolls like a log wherever she wants to go. I try to get her to crawl by putting toys out of reach on a blanket but the smart little thing just pulls the blanket to bring them closer!
Glad to see this thread moving again!

Barbara-I can believe Brooke is walking! That's awesome!
My little Isabella started really crawling yesterday, then once she got the hang of that she decided to go for pulling up on furniture. I'm I'm big trouble with that one. She's attitude and diva to the zillionth degree!
Dylan went to the pediatric orthopedic doc who said he's perfectly fine, just lazy. Good news!
I was supposed to go to Mexico with DH on Saturday (we never took a honeymoon because of the IVF and we booked the trip before I got pregnant) but I couldn't get on the plane. The twins were going to be at home with MIL and I just couldn't go. DH was great and even though we are out the money he isn't too mad at me We are still staying home from work and hanging it with the kids
Hope all you ladies are doing well!

Jake will be 6 mo tomorrow. I can't believe how fast he has grown.. The little guy is probably 24lbs and who knows how long. . I go for his 6mo checkup next monday so will find out for sure. The only real food we have given him so far is applesauce. He didn't like it too much but guess we have to give him time to get use to actual food. I must say that i love being a mother. I love having him smile at me and I love having toys laying all over my house. He does spoil us so I might be in the new mother honeymoon stage. We are doing a FET in July, i am trying not to get my hopes up that it will work. Think i have PTSD from my former IVF experiences.
Tohavefun...crazy how fast they grow, huh? What a big boy Jake is! Funny that you mention PTSD because my mom has mentioned that she wondered if I hadn't been suffering from it. Def not post partum...more fear of trying again, fear of another terrible pregnancy, fear of another preemie...just fear! I wish you the best of luck in July!

I don't check here often anymore because we have pretty much decided that we cannot do IVF again and that Chloé will be our only child. We don't have the funds for it and it took 6 transfers, 1 m/c, and two years to get her. I don't have that in me again. It makes us sad that the only reason we won't have another baby is financial and stress but it's the way it is. So I'm trying to stay away from as much talk about conceiving as I can. But good luck to everyone who can try again, I wish you success.
Chloé is amazing. Such a happy and healthy baby. She had her baptism a couple weeks ago and looked precious in a gown that has been in my family for three generations. We are also taking our first family vacation to the Florida Keys! We leave next Thursday for 10 days. We have a nanny hired at our resort to watch her while we do some scuba diving. I'm excited and nervous about that. Other than that, we are busy busy. I work full time still. Chloé goes to day care two days a week, my in-laws come over one day a week, and the other two DH or I am home with her since he works weekends and I am off every other Friday. I play tennis twice a week, Chloé has swimming lessons twice a week, and I work out with my trainer twice a week. I also bought a nice jogging stroller and she loves going out with me. I even rollerblade behind it.
Have a nice Mother's Day everyone!

Lou: I'm always happy to hear from you and I get why you kinda stay away. Just a word from an only child... I liked being an only child. There was something special about having my parents all to myself - being the center of attention as a child and now as an adult, having a really close relationship with my parents. My kids also get to be the first and only grandkids which makes them super special too.

Lou - Maribel will be our only one too. I have my 2 older kids but they're 23 & almost 20 and live 4 hours away so Maribel may feel more like an only child growing up. We were self-pay too and with only one aging ovary, we were lucky to get Maribel from the 5 eggs retrieved. We're just looking forward to her being the center of our world and therefore i dont check in here much except to check on a few past buddies - lauren, franny, and leora. Sometimes i mourn the thought of not having another little one but one benefit of having one - when I had my first two, I always felt like I could never give both kids enough time individually. Like I was torn in two directions at times for their activities, interests, and general care giving (think trying to care for a puking 4 year old while the 1 year old is screaming his head off.) With just Maribel, I don't have that torn feeling and I have to say it feels really good. Anywho, message me if you want to connect on FB. I keep up with stephanie & her boys on there since I don't come on here much anymore.

I just wanted to share the birth of my beautiful little girl on 5/24 via C-section. Raelyn Marie weighed 9 lbs 15 oz (holy cow), 21 inches long and scored a 9/9 on her apgar! She completes our family of 6 and we are all completely and utterly in love with her. I cycled in the summer of 2011 and had my transfer on 8/27. It was a rough road and a tough 1st trimester, but it was so worth it.

Amanda, congratulations on the birth of Raelyn! I know it's been forever since we PM'd and I've wondered how you were doing. Post a picture when you can and enjoy your little (well not so little) girl.
