How is everyone doing today?

Looks like a lot of us are going to be having ET's around the same time!

I'm sitting here nervously waiting for my pharmacy to call and let me know if my prescription went through on my insurance. In the past, my meds have been covered but I'm worried it was by mistake!

Tonya,

I am feeling tired and hungry from the bcp's too, at least I'm assuming they are too blame. I'm usually one of those people who can't sit still for 10 minutes but lately I feel like I need a nap every hour...followed by a snack :? !

STACI :?

That is soooo funny. I'm waiting to hear from my insurance today. Get this how about I have a primary and secondary right. So check this out how about they told me with my primary I would have to pay out of pocket 2, 000 and with my secondary 150.00 she said I can choose. I'm like HELLLLOO I want to go with my secondary and pay the 150. That's crazy. I compared one more so I'm waiting to hear from that one too. My nurse recommend Freedomdrug.com and IVPcare.com. She said don't use the pharmarcy because if you need something at the last minute it may take forever to fill. Are you doing IVF and ICSI or just IVF? What was your situation if you don't mind me asking?

Tonya,

I would say the secondary ins. is a pretty obvious choice!

I did a IVF/ICSI last year (due to male factor infertility) and, after transferring 2 embryos, ended up having 7 left to freeze. I used 3 of them so far (with no luck) and am now using the last 4. For the FET, the focus is on getting the lining at the proper level for implantation. I take bcps then lupron then something called estrace (estradiol) then progesterone in oil. The time frame is similar to the IVF except during the time you're stimming I'll be popping estradiol pills 4 times a day. My transfer should be between Aug. 16-19 if everything goes well.

For the IVF/ICSI, I used Schrafts which is a mail order drug company like Freedom but this time around I tried to just go with Walgreens since they should have all this stuff. They had to order the generic form of lupron and said they should have it by today so I'm just waiting to hear back. That's the only expensive one and the one I'm worried my insurance company will want me to fill through their own specialty pharmacy....which I'm afraid would mean more research into what I'm actually using it for and a denial of payment or, worse, a demand for repayment of everything they've covered in the past. Not sure if they can do that but I am paranoid!

Where in MD are you? I actually went to college for my freshman year (many years ago!) in Baltimore at College of Notre Dame. I transferred after the first year though because I couldn't take being at an all womens school :) !

I am definately going with the secondary insurance! My doctor said to only transfer two but I want to transfer three because I want twins. If they transfer 3 maybe at least one will take. I'm one same schedule as your, HSG, Progestrone Oil, Lupron, Estrace, Docyclyclone, and some other stuff. I think doctor's should let you decide how many to transfer back because after all you're paying for it and you will be the one that has to take care of it. I'm sure you said it on here already but how old are you? How many eggs fertilized when you did ICSI? I live in Upper Malboro, MD and I'm going to a place called Shady Grove Fertility. What is the success rate at your place? I know where Baltimore is. That's like 40 minutes from where I live. We definately have to keep chatting because we have the same transfer dates. The egg retrieval is Aug 12 and transfer is the 15th. I have blocked tubes and my husband has poor moghogy. That's so crazy that both us have a issue.

I don't think insurance companies can bill you for past medication.

Injections

Post by sharont »

Hi, Sharon here,

Quite new - no advice to give anyone (yet!)

I am going for my baseline scan (first time IVF) in the morning, and a lesson in how to do my injections.

Little apprehensive - but reading through the posts is helping.

Looking forward to having more to say next week

Thanks
Sharon
