Kaylie

I was bottle fed as was my husband we both have graduate degrees and IQ over 140 (members of mensa) I agree there is benefit to breast milk but if there are health concerns (we were both allergic to milk) you have to do what is best for you and stress and fatigue are not best. Also my son who is now 11 was also lactose intolerant and was formula fed since he was a few weeks old and he turned out very bright, intelligent and healthy (never any ear infections and only an occasional cold) he is very athletic plays multiple sports and has always had exceptional grades in school. Please do not worry or read too much into these studies your son will be just fine.

Mamaboo- so very happy you are doing okay. I was worried about you! Get some rest and take care of yourself and the LO.

Leora- We are praying so hard for you and your little baby boys. I can't believe it and I am so sad that your fear has been realized. It doesn't seem right or fair! I don't know what to say except I am sending you so much love. I hope in my heart that God shows you the mercy that you so deserve after all you have been through. May He protect those beautiful new souls and bring peace to yours.

Quick note:

Leora - I am SO sorry to hear such shocking news!! I'm praying for the best outcome for your little boys. So sorry you have to go through such a difficult time, yet again. Sending positive thoughts and vibes your way.

Rio - Good luck with your c-sec tomorrow! I'm hoping your precious little one is born without any complications and that you have a speedy recovery. Will be thinking of you all day.

AFM - thanks everyone for checking in on me. My knee is beat up real good with a huge abrasion and swelling all around, but I'm happy to say that my little Athena was unharmed. She weighed in at 2 lbs and my cervix length was measuring over 4cm. I just have to be a lot more careful out there. No texting while walking for me, that's for sure. More to be discussed later. Hopefully tomorrow I can get to some more personals. Keeping Leora, her boys, Rio and her girl in my thoughts for now.

Rio- Thinking of you and your little princess today!! I love all the names but would say I am a big fan of Giselle and Elizabeth (Elizabeth happens to be my middle name). I cant wait to hear how it all goes today. Hoping for a smooth delivery and cannot wait to see pictures! Good luck.

Leora- I hope that you and your boys are doing ok. I am so sorry to hear that they decided to come very early but hopefully they can show you just how strong they really are. Just know you and your family are in all of our thoughts!!!

Ashley- Im glad to hear that little Athena is doing well and is weighing in at 2 lbs already. Sounds like your cervix is still pretty long- mine is already 3.5 but my doctor said anything over 3 is normal. She assured me that there was a patient of hers with a cervix measuring 0.7 who was able to stay on bedrest and keep her baby safe and sound.

Anna- Glad you got a chance to clean and sterilize all of Pauls stuff. It wont be too much longer before you finally get to meet your little guy.

Margi- Thanks for letting us know about Leora. It brought tears to my eyes reading your post.

Mamaboo- Sorry to hear you had some contractions and ended up on bedrest. Glad to hear things are ok now though. Put your feet up and get some rest!

Kaylie- I have known tons of people who were bottle fed and turned out better than breastfed babies. My husband for example is a doctor now and was bottlefed as a baby…and id like to think he turned out ok. I think if its making you miserable you gave it your best shot so you should do what you feel comfortable with. I just read an article last night in I think American Baby- August 2011 edition, about the 10 things about Breastfeeding that no one ever tells you. One of the things was that not everyone feels like doing it which is perfectly fine. I would read the article if I were you but I am sure you would be perfectly fine in switching over to formula. Good luck with your decision though.

Alisa- OMG that little one is getting sooo big!!! When I saw your little ticker I started to tear up. After going through our cycles together I am just sooo excited for you. I am thinking girl but who knows really. Just another 7 wks and you will know for sure!! Congrats again and glad that little one is doing well in there.

Sonya- Brogan is too cute!! Love that picture of him all snuggled in the basket.

AFM- Hit 18 weeks yesterday but other than that nothing too exciting. Bought a maternity support belt finally but when I try to wear it both girls get a little crazy. I guess they aren’t used to the pressure down there. Busy weekend ahead but hoping to find some down time to rest and relax some.

Leora - Prayers for your family.. Hope those little ones know how much they are loved and will thrive and grow.

Rio - Good Luck!!

Hope - glad everything is OK with you and the baby. NO more texting and walking!!!

Kaylie - Like previous posts pointed out, not everyone is cut out to breastfeed. the most important part of being a mom is doing the best you can do and if bottle feeding leads to less stress but better care for your babies then i say go for that formula.

AFM - nothing really new. I finally ditched my regular clothes. The regular clothes fit fine but i have been really uncomfortable lately so i decided to switch to maternity just for the added comfort. Now just to find maternity stuff that fits right. If I get a size XL in pants then they are a little snug, i go up to 1x then they are huge. Did i mention that i hate maternity clothes to begin with. O'well, only 17 more weeks.

Annashope - The first day or two in the hospital I wore the super light & stretchy disposable panties they give you in the hospital (really comfy & like boy shorts.) After that I switched to my regular bikini/hipsters underwear. Many people had suggested wearing big granny panties so I brought some of those too, but those felt horrible in my opinion. They landed right in the middle of my stomach which was a bit sore whereas the hipsters fell much lower but still landed above my incision. I say bring a 2-3 different styles if you can so you have some options in case one doesn't feel comfortable.
