Hi clemo-- I haven't actually got to use a donor yet--I started a cylce about the same time as Sabi but my donor didn't stem well and thye cancelled the cycle which sucks! So I am waiting for the new donor to return her contract to the RE so I can begin--hopefully in the next few days. My clinic has you get ready first then the donor stems--so that I can be ready at a moments notice rather than have the donor ready and you aren't. I haven't been the most patient person--but my new donor is proven so I should do better or at least I hope so!

How is everyone else doing? JDC good luck with your transfer you are offically PUPO!!!! Woo-Hoo!

JDC - hope all went well today with your transfer! Welcome to the 2WW, hope it goes by quickly for you and ends with a positive result! Sending you lots of PMA and baby dust!

Gigi - Good luck with stims. Let's hope for lots of lovely eggies. I'm sorry to hear about your DS, I hope you get nothing but good news from the mri.

JDC - I hope transfer went well. I hope the 2ww doesn't drive you too crazy.

Poohgirl - Bugger about your 1st donor, that would have been very disappointing. Let's hope your new donor puts that contract in asap so you can start. You've been very patient waiting this long.

AFM - Had my 1st FS app with my cousin yesterday. It went really well. My cousin and I are like sisters so she requested that I come to every app with her. My fs did a scan and her ovaries look normal so that's a good start!
So that's one thing crossed off the list. Next is our 1st counselling session on 1 Sept.

I really hope I don't end up in tears at the counselling. When we 1st started IVF we had the compulsary counselling and I ended up in tears. Those counsellors always know the right things to say to get me welling up!

Can anyone share their DE counselling session experience with me? Just so I'm prepared.... :?

Beta #2 came in at 484 and progesterone was >40!!

So far so good. I have been so tired since I have upped my progesterone, but I am happy that my numbers look good.

JDC, Let us know how ET goes we all have our fingers crossed for you.

Thanks everyone for your good thoughts.

Clemo:

What a wonderful you and cuz must have to be doing this together.

I can tell you what mine counseling was about....

1. Are you prepared to have a child that doesn't have your traits?
2. Can you raise a child that may surprise you with traits that you don't have? (same question but asked differently this time)
3. Have you grieved the child you could have with your dh?

and then, the disclosing question. I thought I was totally prepared and wasn't going to disclose. Boy, did she take me by surprise. Others have not had this really come up other than asking what they plan to do. My counselor (who is very educated about current research) really encouraged us to disclose. Be careful though. If this isn't where you want to go, I suggest stopping him/her from the beginning. I am a counselor so I wanted to hear all of it.

Other than answering questions I had about the donor, that was it. Pretty harmless and nice to know there are other women dealing with this issue. I suggested starting a support group with parents of children conceived with ED at some point. They are strongly considering it.

So happy you are going forward. Tears are a great way to heal through this journey. Cheers to you.

Congratulations Stef! That's great news. Have you booked in for your 1st scan?

Gigi - Thank you. Yes I am very lucky to have my cuz. She is a gorgeous woman. We're 9 wks apart in age and very similar. We've spent our whole lives being close: went to school together, do everything together etc.

Re: disclosing. Because of our close relationship I will definately be explaining as soon as they can understand that "Aunty A helped mummy and Daddy". There's a book called 'Sometimes it takes 3 to make a baby' which I think I will utilize in helping to explain.
I personally think that the burden of carrying such a huge secret especially when so many people know already would be too much. My Mum, my cuz's mum & dad, my dh's family all know what stage we're at. The only people that don't know are friends and extended family.
I would also be too scared of the secret getting out and the child/ren resenting me for hiding it.

I think I should be right with the rest of the questions. I'll try and put on my tough exterior!!!!!

Steph - Congrats on a great second beta and your progesterone going up.

Gigi - Good luck with your sons MRI, keep us updated on the little guy. Also good luck with your cycle starting.

Poohgirl - I'm sorry about your 1st cycle, I can totally relate as our doctor didn't cancel our first donor cycle and the eggs turned out to be worse than my own! Good Luck with your upcoming cycle!

Clemo - That is awesome that you and your cuz are so close and she is willing to do this for you. Our psych evaluation was pretty painless, I think she simply wanted to make sure my DH and I were on the same page and we truly both wanted this.

Happy Friday to everyone!

Hey Everyone, TGIF!! This has been a week that I would like to forget. My job, the whole beta & prog levels, my kids...just everything.

Hopeful, glad that things seem to be going well for you.

Gigi, I hope the best for your son. How old is he? I am sure this is all very stressful for you on top of getting ready to cycle.

Clemo, it is awesome that you have such a good relationship with your cousin and she is willing to give you this gift.

JDC, I hope things went well with your ET.

Pooh, I can relate with not being a patient person. Hopefully you will be cycling soon.

Sabi, if you are researching docs and hospitals what sites are you going to? I would like to do the same thing. I use to know how to look them up by rankings in different specialties and how many malpractice lawsuits have been made against the hospital or practicing physicians but cannot seem to find the same info now.

Stef - that is great that your levels have risen nicely. Looks like you are on your way!

Clemo - your situation sounds really ideal with your cousin. Does she already have children of her own? Wishing you all the best!

gigi - fingers crossed for good results with your son's MRI, that you'll get the clarification you are looking for and will be one step closer to his successful surgery in January.

poohgirl - happy to have you back and looking forward to your upcoming BFP! :D

JDC - hope your transfer went well!! You are now officially PUPO! Take it easy as much as you can and I hope the wait goes by quickly.

Hopeful, chriss, carolyn, sabi - hope all is going well with you!

All is fine with me. I'm now going to the ob/gyn 2x/week for NSTs (non-stress tests) where they measure the HB and check for contractions and I have a u/s every 2 weeks to check on the baby's growth. Next scan is on Monday. We'll also be taking a tour of the hospital next week.
I have just over 7 weeks to go till the big day! Can't believe it. Time has flown by for me.

To everyone - have a nice weekend!

Ok, so we went in for our second u/s to hear the heartbeats. We heard the heartbeats alright ... all 3 of them!!! We have an identical set and then a singleton. We were in shock, as you can imagine and then the doctor asked us to go to his office once I got dressed. He is very concerned about me carrying triplets, I'm 5"2 and weigh about 105 pounds. He said t the identical twins on their own are considered high risk, then when you add in the 3rd and my size it is very high risk. He wants to talk to my OB and he wants us to talk to some perintalogists as to the risks and options. We are excited an scared at the same time

I hope everyone is doing well ... I will write personals when I calm down a little. Wow!!!

I just got the call I can start today!!! :D I am sure they are tired of me begging to start, Lupron tonight my first scan is Sept 2nd then I get to add estrogen then scan 12 to 14 days after that, then donor gets to start stemming 14 days for that (give or take) 5 day transfer so I am looking at the first week in Oct. for my transfer!! unless I did my math wrong! i am going to celebrate with a nice dinner out!

How is everyone else feeling? (except for Hopeful she is still in shock of course).

OMG Hopeful I can't believe you have trips!! I am also 5'2" and would be freaking out if it were me, actually I am freaking out since my betas were pretty close to yours.

If I was you I would listen to what your doc and peri have to say but also do a lot of research including scoping out the Triplet Connections thread and IVF Connections Triplet thread as well as S/R so you can make the best decision for all of you. Wishing you the best and thinking about you,
