Hi Everyone

Debra, the only side effects that I get from the Lupron is more like flu symptoms, runny eyes especially in the morning. Some days a fuzzy head as well, usually in the mornings. Pretty insignificant when I think about the later injections so not worth complaining about at this stage :) . Just that I had an exam this morning and wanted a clear head.

Lisa, this is our 4th visit to San Diego. We usually spend a little over two weeks at a time so manage to get some exploring in. Have visited San Diego and surrounding area's, Mexico, Solvang and surrounding area's and Julian. This time we are going to spend some time in Los Angeles. We really like the area as well. We almost feel local as we have special places and resturants to visit each time we are there.

Bev, the flight to Los Angeles is approx 12 to 13 hours from New Zealand. It is very difficult to get a non stop flight from Australia. They only leave on certain days which this time did not fit with us. The problem with flying is that we need to do the injections and it is not easy to find a place where we can do them. We usually have to get a staff member to get everyone out of a womens toilet block and stand guard whilts my DH gives my an injection. Not very pleasant at all. On one occassion one staff member (who was extremely unhelpful) suggested we do the injection almost in full view of the public - I had a problem exposing my behind in that sort of situation  But SHE could not see the problem and really did not care at all about our situation - it was very stressful and DH was very angry, I thought he was going to get us arrested at Los Angeles airport! Hopefully all goes well this trip.

Look after yourself Debra and good luck with your upcoming scan.

Keep positive.

Di,
Visions of you standing in a fully loaded 757 with your butt hanging out are truly thought provoking. hehehehe I had to do my injections on the plane when we went to Vegas but I do them myself so it was easy to slip into the disgusting pee all over the floor and walls bathroom and try to inject myself without touching anything. Hope you have better luck this time. Make sure you visit the Gaslamp District down by the naval base. There are some great restaurants there. If you like Italian and a nice ambiance there's a place called Croce's. As in Jim Croce.

Hi Lisa

We have driven down the Gaslamp district but thought it was a bit scary after dark - but will think about trying out that resturant. We generally visit Hillcrest as it has some great bookshops and places to eat - usually of a daytime.

I probaby could do the injections myself but I think it is great that DH can be involved. He is such a expert at it now, so why change :) .

Cheers Di

Hi all

Amazing to read everyone's (quite different) stories on here - and very comforting too - was feeling quite alone with all this before I stumbled upon this forum. Thanks everyone :D Feel so lucky to even have got as far as I have with my own eggs at this age...

Not feeling very positive about the outcome though, despite lots of implantation type pains a week after the transfer... my boobs, even though they are still mammoth, have even stopped hurting so much. But maybe that's just because I had my last pregnyl injection a week ago today... I just don't know. Who knows... and still another 5 days to wait until my HPT.

Kat - I still think Mr Riddle is quite lovely! You can keep your Dr Olivares. There's no accounting for taste is there!!! Still I wonder how come you have been on their list for such a long time? They told me their waiting list was now up to 9 months. I had to wait 7 months. Good luck with the TB next week, the things they can do now... amazing.

Debra - (my lucky star) how are you doing today? I bet you are still on cloud nine...

Anna & Tammy - how's it going ? Any sign of AF yet?

Bev - are there any league tables for ED you could check out to help you make up your mind?

Di - how are you getting on with your injections? Agreed so much better to let DH do them and feel involved! All we have to do then is lie back and think about anything else... How was your exam yesterday?

Good morning and very big hugs also to Caz, Lisa, Randa, Sandra, Lara, Caroline, Jules, Diane, and any other of us 40+s I've missed out.

Hello Ladies:

Debra: Great news!!!!!!! I knew one of us would have to join Jules soon.

Jo: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. AF is on its way. I just hope it holds off for a few days. I have to go to Chicago on Thursday and Friday for a funeral of a good friend's mother. If AF comes today, I may have to wait until next cycle, unless I can visit my doctor on the way to Chicago tomorrow morning. :(

Diane: Have a nice time in San Diego. I enjoyed my last visit there also. The weather is fabulous.

Lisa: Your post made me laugh. I am trying to get my drugs ordered for this cycle.

I was told by my online drug company, Freedom Drugs, that they were starting a new program. If you do 3 IVF's in an 18 month period, then the drugs from Serano are free for IVF #3 !! I use 2 of the Serano products, Gonal-f and Cetrotide. Gonal-f is by far my most expensive drug. It alone cost me $2280 last IVF cycle. If you use Serano products, you may want to check with your pharmacy. My problem is that they just started the program and will not count my Dec. IVF as #1. I really doubt if I will do 3 more IVF's, but you never know. It was not my intention to go for IVF#2 either.

Have a nice day,
Tammy

Jo, it's the blood test that some clinics do on test days. Others either ask you to do an hpt or do one at the clinic.

I get a bit confused with the readings as they seem to be measured differently across the world, but here, they look for HCG to above 50 to be a viable pregnancy. Although there are stories on here every month of a low number that slowly climbs and results in a healthy pgy.

I asked for another beta today as I want to know how the numbers are progressing. If doubling every 48hrs, like they are supposed to, we can relax. If they're slow then we might be looking at an other ectopic, which is our concern given the pains I have.

Debra.

Hello all

Debra - hope you're doing OK - would you get pain this early on if it was another ectopic? Sorry, I don't know as I haven't been through it, maybe that's a stupid question. Understand you're worried - can the clinic scan early just for position of the sac rather than heartbeat if you asked?

Hi Jools - nice to hear from you - can't believe how time is flying (and obviously trying not to think how far along I would be by now) are you expanding by the minute?

Went to GP today for smear test and got upset talking about being pg - just goes to show I'm not as 'over it' as I thought. The doc was funny with me again about going to Spain - they just don't understand so I shouldn't be too hard on her. She insisted on giving me the name of a new clinic set up by a gynae she knows & suggested I try there. Didn't have the energy to remind her I had donor eggs, although I had mentioned it about 5 mins beforehand, she obviously just was not listening to a word I was saying.

Apart from that, am enjoying being a lady of leisure this week. Went shopping today and it was so quiet compared to the weekend when I normally go, I could get used to this life! Back to work Monday though, to my new desk.... DH back Sunday :D , very quiet here without him.

Can you believe it's snowing? Doesn't happen often here. That'll upset the cat. Made cups of tea earlier for a couple of boys digging a hole in the road as they looked so cold.

Enough of this rambling
Hi to everyone else too
Lots of love

Anyway, please could I ask all you kind ladies to stop jigging for me! (I'm sure that will be a relief for you!) I am absolutely convinced AF will arrive this weekend :( Slight spotting and AF cramps are on their way in and PMA is on the way out. Looks like another month of waiting for me.
