Amanda~ So glad you know the HCG is out of your system. Good luck on your HPT and your beta as well. Since I just rejoined I'm not sure of your mom's cancer. What type? My mom just lived with us for a year with ovarian cancer. Tough year but she's in remission now. What a relief. I was so busy with her chemo, doctor appts, etc. on my last cycle. I hope your mom is OK. And a side note, I read the book first (loved it) and I still really enjoyed the movie. Really casted well.

Bodie~ So happy for you regarding the heartbeats. What a relieving sound.

Wehavehope~ Seriously love your board. It is so thoughtful and fun.

Sorry I only do a few personals at a time. It's hard for my hormone loaded brain to accomplish any more at this time.

Afm... wide awake on steroids while my house sleeps. These meds are trying on so many different levels. Ugh.

Jayne321- My mom has stage 2b Cervix cancer. She has done 6wks of chemo & radiation internal & external. Last check up the tumor was not gone but it has shrunk. We go back on Nov 9th for another PET scan to see if it has shrunk anymore or maybe gone. I am praying it is gone, but they may have to do surgery to get the rest.

Amanda- so frustrating laying here. I feel bad with dh having to get me everything. My clinic does recommend bedrest but even if they didn't I would do it. I feel like this while process is fragile as it is...

I just bought the book the help yesterday. Haven't started it yet tho. I also got one called The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven. Sounds good too. I'm itching to start it.
So I started cramping earlier, was really concerned as it awakened me from sleep. Called the on call dr to make sure about going to the er, my clinic charges 25 bucks if its a non emergent nature but at this point I dont really care, I just want these suckers to stick. He says hang in there I should be ok. I wish there was a way to find out if these guys are implanting. I'm very impatient right now. Dh won't let mw go get hpt's bc the clinic said don't use them as they are unreliable. Ugh, I don't care what they say lol. I wanna start testing in a few days! I don't have my pregnancy test till the 14th. Is that considered beta?

Julie- Yes a beta is the blood test :) The way I feel is that if it is negative I would rather know before the beta so I can get use to the idea & not be heart broken by the phone call from the nurse. Which still hurts since I have had that call 3 times but at least I was some what prepared for it. This time it will be a positive though :) My DH would like it if I waited too about testing, but I can't help it. I have to know :) Let me know if the book about the boy who came back from heaven is any good. We live in Alabama not even 15 mins from where one tornado went through during the tornado out breaks.

whew! A whole bunch happen since I last wrote. I read more often than I write - so I'm following everyone!

Jen - I'm so sorry you are in beta hell - I'm glad the number is going up, but I know how stressed you must be feeling about it. I hope for good news soon!

Blue-eyed - you are pregnant, of course you are exhausted! Only 9 days until your u/s! How far along will you be? I'm glad you had a good Halloween - your costumes sound cute! We have a holiday with costumes (in March, called Purim) - I need ideas for a good couples costume (that DH will agree too!)

Jayne - I have ghetto teeth too! I've had 18 teeth filled. More of my mouth is filling polymer than actual tooth! It's crazy because I'm so good about hygiene (DH never brushes his teeth regularly and has never had a cavity - I brush/floss daily and all my teeth are rotten!) My dentist says that it's very little to do with hygiene - if you have bad teeth, they'll rot no matter what you do. -- I never feel sexy while I'm bloated from the IVF :D

Maria - feel better! Migraines suck so much. I used to have chronic migraines as a child, but luckily, I 'out grew' them. Sorry the ex-wife is such a nightmare. I grew up in one of those situations with a HORRIBLE step-mother (my father is the nightmare parent) - so kudos to you for being a step-mom, I know it must be really hard.

Christy - ICKICKICK ICK ! I can't watch that tooth scene in Castaway without wanting to throw up! I can't imagine! My filling hurt enough with plenty of anesthesia! --- buy cheaper POAS sticks! I buy mine on eBay - I get 50 x 10miu test strips for about $20 shipped to me!

Blessed - thanks for adding perspective - "I'm not in prison or arrested, so today's a good day" - I think I'll borrow that sentiment when I talk to my mom! She always asks how I'm doing - I always say "fine" -- maybe I'll add some 'spice' to the conversation! --- Tomorrow is Thursday! GOOD LUCK!

Julia - are you using ICSI? That can lead to lower fertilization rates (our fert rate is about 50% and we do ICSI because of severe MFI) -- Good luck -- I have a less than ideal embryo to transfer now, and it's so disappointing that I'm not going to get the best chance I can -- but there are plenty of people who have babies from less than ideal transfers. Fingers crossed for you!

kerpupples - Vegas? I'm so jealous! I've always wanted to go to Vegas - I'm not into gambling, but I want to go see all the other sights. I told DH that for our 10th anniversary (or 15th, or whenever we can get away) that I want to go to Vegas and re-new our wedding vows in a drive-thru chapel with Elvis :D --- have you found out if you are part of the trial or not (ie, transferring now or doing PGD)?

Rosie - good luck on Friday! I'll be stalking to hear news about how many eggs you got! (do you want me to make you food for Shabbat so you don't have to worry about it?)

Ninde - glad to hear you had a good time in London! We took a vacation to Greece for a weekend in January last year and it was soooo nice to relax and take a short break.

Pink boots - welcome! Sorry to hear about your losses. Fingers crossed for your beta on Monady - will you be taking a home pregnancy test (HPT) first? -- don't worry about catching up - just jump on in!

Bodie - CONGRATS! That's amazing! Good luck! When's your next appt/us?

Amanda - I love that you POAS to test out the trigger - I like when I'm not the only POAS-crazy person on the board :D 10 years is a long time! Congrats. DH and I are coming up on the 8th anniversary of our first date!

AFM - I'm a BAD BAD BAD girl. Don't tell DH (or Ghost) who told me that my plan is a terrible idea.... I've always taken 2mg of Estrofem three times a day for my FETs and it always takes forever to get my lining thick enough -- so I asked my doctor. He said that the dosage is fine and that 20days until starting progesterone is normal. So, I've decided to secretly add a dose - I'm taking a fourth pill before bed, and I'm taking it vaginally. From what I understand, taking it vaginally can help my lining more without making my e2 blood levels rise too much. I'm worried that too much of the oral dose is getting filtered out by my kidneys or whatever. We'll see... I have my next SnS on Monday. What's the worst that can happen? I wasn't optimistic about this cycle anyways. I've wanted to switch up my FET protocol (since I've never had a FET work), but my doctor said that the protocol was fine and all the FETs failing was just 'luck'. So I'm switching it up by myself - either it works and I get my transfer sooner, or it doesn't work and the transfer goes as planned, or it doesn't work and I've ruined my cycle - in which case maybe they'll change the protocol for the next FET. I don't think this will ruin my transfer, but I'm more anxious for my SnS on Monday than ever!

We also have a meeting with the government adoption ministry on Sunday - I know they won't have good things to tell us (basically, the wait for a healthy baby is impossibly long) - but we really want to start pursuing that. I can't imagine doing the whole IVF/pregnancy thing more than a few more times - and we want more than one kid, ideally. So we'll see.

GAAAH I'm so antsy! I don't remember feeling THIS antsy in previous cycles. I think that the more I go through, the more desperate and crazy I become.

Anton - where are you, honey? Are you okay?

I'm SO behind! I've had all of you on my mind! Our internet was out for 2 days! We had no phone either. They came today and fixed it. Something about a splitter going bad. Kinda glad it did because everything is even better now! Internet would randomly go up and down in signal. It's too early but have to call home and see about my Grandmother. Hope things aren't worse. It's horrible when you can't call or be called!

Gina, sNs means "stick and stir" is most famous from the Fall 2010 board. I loved it so much I wanted to keep calling it sNs. stick- meaning bloodwork and my favorite is stir- the ultrasound (with that wand that always makes my husband jealous).

Leoria, hope your tooth is feeling better, I'm like a kid too never wanting to go to the dentist. When I was little it was lollypops never understood why, and now today it's toothbrushes and dental floss we get upon every visit. haha my doctor had a sign out front which is close to the college campus that said "Candy BuyBack" how cute is that!

Anton, yes we are missing you! I need some recipe swappping going on around here. Mom is coming tomorrow and I'm wanting to make her a stuffed turkey with all the fixxings.

Gina, I pray your grandmother is okay too, I worry so much about these precious grandmothers. My granny practically raised me while my dad worked overtime to provide for the 3 of us. Never understanding why my mother even asked for child support, but those days are now behind us. My grandmother, 92 lives in my hometown Gadsden, AL and is currently adjusting to a nursing home and I would give anything if we lived closer so I could visit more often. She has very fragile bones and loses her balance quite often. I'm praying too that she makes some friends there who she can play dominos, scrabble or rummy with.
So many warm memories of our precious grandmothers, truly they are God's special people.

Amanda, I'm thinking and praying about your mom too that Monday brings you good news. Please keep us posted. Btw, I don't know if the "quickie" worked but it never hurts either, be finding out in about a week. Monday will be your beta! Did you say you live in Tuscaloosa? I heard so many things about this tornado storm. My relatives were getting postmarked mail flying in their backyard and another thing I often think about is all those poor pets. My best friend's sister did try to find the owner of one lost dog that landed on their lot, missing fur and pitiful looking. Sadly nobody ever claimed her, so she adopted Chloe.

Bodie, I'm so thrilled you got to hear two strong heartbeats, that is so exciting! What are your next steps?

Julia, my husband hide my sticks form me too, but he doesn't know I have one in the bottom drawer. :D I have been trying to not overthink this cycle and relax some but it's so hard. I'm waiting until after the beta to apply for the IVF Attain Program, figured it better this way b/c I'm not throwing in the towel just yet.

kerpuppies, I'm with Leorira let's renew our wedding vows with Elvis on the 15th annniversary, which reminds me of "The Hangover"- a very funny must see flix!

AFM: must get more cleaning done, but first it's the messy progesterone tablets. Don't like taking anything vaginally! I wake up in the middle of the night thinking I wet the bed and I use panty liners but I guess Depends might be a good investment. Suddenly I feel so old!

Sunshine- haha I love it!

Thank you! Well during the two days I had no internet or phone my Grandmother was put into the hospital due to dehydration and having hallucinations. That's because she goes to the bathroom too many times a day!! She will probably be out Friday or Saturday then to a nursing home. Maybe she'll get that extra help and do much better! My Mom's brother and sister are highly jealous of my mom and dad and are so rude and mean to them and even others, so we just hope he doesn't go in and try getting rid of my Grandmothers things. Cause she can go home or anywhere 8 days a year. Not a lot IMO :( My Uncle has treated her the worst many times but yet she baby's him and gave him the Power of Attorney. His WIFE already got all over my Aunt for not helping on Sundays...They go to a church that has beliefs like don't cut your hair or you won't go to heaven if you miss a Sunday. They are just a mess. This isn't a time for hurting one another esp if front of the one that is sick. :(

My mom called. My Grandmother now has another block in her bile duct. Before she couldn't stop going to the bathroom and now this. There really needs to be a medium! She may be too weak to make it through surgery.

Ninde - I really hope you are not like me. It took 12 weeks after my m/c for AF to finally show up. Personally I think I needed that long to heal anyway, but it's nice to have the option to start another cycle if you are ready.

Jayne - Good luck enduring the 2ww! I know my clinic used to do bedrest, but they haven't said anything to me about it yet so maybe they have stopped. We read The Help for our book club and I loved loved loved it! I think I'm the only one who hasn't seen the movie yet. Hmmm.....maybe if it's still playing around here somewhere I can go see it after ER since I'm off all day.

LauraN - LOL @ the no sex! I think I can handle that part better than DH. Luckily I can take care of that for him if need be. :)

Bodie - thanks, your trigger dust did the trick! Congrats on hearing 2 hb. I don't think I heard DD's hb at 6 weeks so I'd agree, sounds like great equipment. Isn't it an amazing sound?

Julia - Positive thoughts! And FWIW, I have done 4 cycles and POAS always gave me the correct result.

Maria - hang in there until next week. It's too bad there's no such thing as an HcG cleanse for your body.

Amanda - I too am a POAS addict. I've already ordered a pack of 15 from early-pregnancy-tests.com. And congrats on the anniversary!

Leora - That's a great idea for your anniversary! Vegas is a spectacle everyone should experience at least once. I play some poker but am not much of a gambler either. I think we'll be going to see the Village People. Should be a fun time! Good luck with your plan. Doesn't seem like it could do any harm to me, but hey what do I know. And whe don't find out until tomorrow which part of the trial we will fall into. I hate waiting!

I have to thank you all for your trigger dust, because it worked! I triggered last night for a retrieval at 10 tomorrow morning. My e2 yesterday was slightly lower than the day before. I hope that didn't have a negative effect on my little eggies.
