Carol, thank you SOO much! I think the same, which is a bummer when I really think about it. But in all honesty, after that whole rollercoaster, I'm just really glad I have one healthy baby baking in me *fingers crossed*. My ultrasound is scheduled for this Friday at 10:30 AM PST. My nurse will try to reschedule me for this Thursday, but it doesn't look like they have any slots available at this time. I will be 6 weeks this Friday, so it may still be early to see a heartbeat, but boy would it be great if it were actually there!

Kerri -- I'm so sorry. It just sucks. My RE told me that they have to be careful not to touch or invade the lining with the catheter that they implant the embies with. If they do, then implantation cannot take place naturally. My FET was a medicated cycle... BCP's, lupron, estrogen, lining check, trigger shot to mimic a real cycle, and transfer the same as a fresh cycle with estrogen and PIO.

Tammy -- A road trip sounds perfect! Have a wonderful time.

jkulab -- Yeah, for AF and getting started again!

Tiger -- Yay, your IUI's are just around the corner! I'm sooo excited for you. Your tubes are all blown wide open and greased up from the HSG... like a waterslide for those eggs/embies to glide into place in your uterus. Just keep picturing that.

longtimerivf -- 16 eggs! That's fantastic! Congrats.

Sunshine -- I'm really sorry. I hate how hard this process is. I wish it could be BFP's for everyone every time.

Leora -- You are PUPO my friend!!! Soon you will be able to test and see that glorious line! And by the way, my IVF meds are a small fortune. Each day I use two vials of menopur ($90 each = $180)plus 450 units of follistim ($1 per unit or $450) plus ganirelix ($100 per syringe) for the last 5-6 days. So for stimming for 10 days I can easily spend $6,500 - $7000 just on meds alone. Thank God some women did give me their left over meds or sold them to me cheap + shipping. IVF at my clinic with ICSI is $10,700 and that doesn't include the beta tests or first couple of u/s which tack on an additional $1000. You don't even want to know what we spent on 4 fresh and 2 frozen cycles! Let me put it this way, we weren't poor when we started, but we are now...lol. Worse yet, the state we live in has mandated infertility insurance with one exception: if the company is self insured they can opt out. Both DH and I work for companies which are self insured. My company is also Catholic and they don't believe in fertility treatments. Dumb! Dumb! Dumb! How many times will the government cover IVF for you? Is it unlimited?

Hopeisallihave -- Hooray!!! That's fantastic news. You ARE most definitely pregnant!!!!! :D

SD -- Hawaii?!?!?! Really??? You lucky pregnant woman you!

Margi -- Stim away my friend! Praying for a nice crop of follies at your SnS tomorrow.

Kat -- Nice to hear from you. I feel pretty good most of the time. A little heartburn here and there though. I miss the gym a lot! Are you planning to cycle again soon?

nwquiz -- Wishing you lots of baby dust for this 2ww.

Carol -- I hope you don't get AF and instead get a surprise BFP in a few days...hehe.

Samantha -- I wouldn't POAS until you are 12-13 days post retrieval. Anything earlier is likely just too soon. So caution if you do, don't let it get you down.

Rio -- Yes, I will post as soon as I can after my u/s tomorrow. I admit, I'm quite worried.

AFM -- I'm an absolute wreck today. My u/s is tomorrow when I will be 6w4d. I haven't had many symptoms and don't feel pregnant so I'm very worried that I'm NOT pregnant. Does that sound stupid? I hope so. Although, after lunch today, I did develop indigestion/heartburn. I don't know if it was the crappy food they fed me at work or a real symptom...lol. I'm really worried. I haven't been peeing during the night and my boobs aren't tender at all anymore. I also have plenty of energy. Tomorrow morning will be the moment of truth for me. Gosh, I hope my intuition is wrong. :?

hopeisallihave - congratulations!!! Glad your beta is growing tremendously!!! keep us informed and let us know when you get your US!!!

Lou- one more day!!! best of luck!!! try to keep the PMA!!!

AFM- I'm really dissapointed... out of the 16 eggs... only 7 fertilized... soooo... dr said that on wednesday they will call if I have to leave work and run to the clinic for a transfer or if we can wait until friday... truly sad... I usually get a very high fertilization rate... but this time... urgh... should have anticipated this... my estrogen stopped increasing and I had that event with ganirelix... (estrogen first then ganirelix)... so that should've clued me!!!... As my dr said... all we want is a BFP... it does not matter how many fertilize... and I guess he's right... but I just want to cry... I'm not even sure how I'll leave work and drive to the office and halfway meet dh to take only one car... I'm being dramatic I know... but I'm dissapointed at my eggs...
Hope your mondays have been nice!

lou- girl you should stop stressing or you will never enjoy being pregnant. your baby is just fine and growing. try to relax. as for the meds cost its a bamma. i would say you are lucky in a mandate state but hey not everyone is covered. well nc is a non mandate state so you may as well forget it. so we all feel the pinch in the pocket and will be paying for a very long time. am with you thanks for the kind ladies on our board. ithelps alot.
Longtime- rememeber it only takes one. i know you are dissapointed but take heart. there is a strong figter among them.
Caro- Oh gorl go buy another stick and pee on it. you know its a surpirse BFP. girl doctors leave all the dirty work to nurses. When i first started ivf the docs would do all my sns and the nurse draw blood. well this last 2 cycles after a long break i go a rude awaking on them standing in the hallway and the nurse do everything. i was lucky to get one in today to do the procesure. i know that sucks considering how much we pay. i had to stop on sunday to get the doctors attention coz the nurse had taken all control to tell me what to do. but guess what happend. she never ran my blood even after drawing it. so i refused to pay today for that coz i never got the call. will fight it with them i know.
Margi- thanks my friend.you always lighten up the mood with those blinkies. follies grow grow for ca.
hope- fantastic news. yeeeeeeh you are so pregnant.wait you transfered 3 so maybe two mad it
anton/jkulab- all the best with the next cycle
Tiger- oh hsg has cleaned the cobwebs, soyou are good to go. i just dont understand why you do two iui. my doc says there is no increased success with two vs one. but is what you feel comfortable with.
kerri- am so sorry. wish i had better words to say . please take time and come back on the tough journey. your time is round the corner.
am so sore and crampy today. that ovidril this time got the better of me, then the nurse made it no better. just need prayers at this point for success.

Lou... I think not feeling much is a good thing. Think about it... if you were feeling any cramps or pains you would be worried about that too! LOL Besides, how many stories of pregnancies start out "I had no idea I was already 3 months pregnant!" I think its a good sign that everything is working great! Enjoy and I can't wait to hear about the u/s!

Carol: No stock in HPTs..but not a bad idea ;-) I’m heading to California on Thursday...no family out there. I went once to San Fransisco, but this is my first time in the LA area.Image

Tiger: Yeah!! IUI in just a few days now! With your newly “cleaned” out tubes, I hope that you are ready for a big huge BFP!! Can’t wait to hear your SnS report tomorrow. Grow follies grow! They love that veggies and rice, even if not your favorite.LOL. All worth it in the end.Image

HopeisAllIHave/Ashley: I am so very happy for you!!!!! Wooohooo!!!!!! You are so wonderfully pregnant my friend. U/S is Friday...keep realistic expectations...that is an early u/s so not too much to see...oh., I am so, so happy for you!!Image

Lou: Hang in there...thanks for well wishes with my SnS. I am worried...gosh..there is a worry at every single step, isn’t there? Can’t wait to hear about your u/s. I am sure that everything is A-OK, but I will say a prayer tonight anyway.Image

Longtimerivf: 7 fertilized is terrific! No, you aren’t being dramatic. There is a lot of planning and coordinating and freting. Try to take some deep slow breaths. Get a good few night’s sleep before your embies come back to momma. You did great!!!Image

Anton: Hope that you had a great Monday...it was beautiful here in the "South". Unseasonably warm--72 and breezy. Very delightful!

NWQuiz: Glad that I can lighten the mood a bit. This is such a stressful process and every twist and turn on the rollercoaster. Now get to bed and let those boys find their marks!!Image

AFM: Getting nervous about SnS tomorrow....hope they are cooking up a storm! I want to keep up my PMA all the way!!
Everyone have a great night.

Margi - good luck on SnS tomorrow. California is so close!

Hope - that's fantastic news! just goes to show you how things work out for us sometimes afterall! yey!

Leora - enjoying PUPOland?! movies and relaxation sounds great!
I wanted to ask you about your dog. I've been wanting to get a small dog for my boy to play with. But i am worried about everyone being out of the house from 8:30 to 5pm everyday. When you and David where working full time how did your dog handle it? Is there a breed that is more tolerant of being alone during the work week?
we have a cat now and he is great but i thought a dog might be more interactive. i was thinking a small dog so that my cat is not scared. my cat is 17lb - thre is plenty of dogs smaller than that.
I dont know, maybe i am just making life too complicated - a cat and a dog? My DH is not sold on the idea. What do you guys think?

As a matter of fact, our garage side door does have a doggie door! let over from the previous owners! it's a sign :)

Samantha- sorry hon - but it's way too early to be feeling any pregnancy symptoms (like fatigue). Maybe it's just the stress that is knocking you out. I was laid off from my job during the stimming - so my sleep/work schedule right now is a bit off - so I can't tell. I know I'm sleeping more than usual - but then again, I finally have time to catch up on my sleep!

Longtime - I know it's disappointing when you don't get as many embryos as you expect - but your numbers sound good to me. This time, I had 17 eggs and had 7 fertilize (6 on day 3 - 3 on day 5). I had 7 fertilize and had 2 to transfer on day 5 - I doubt you'll have to run in for an emergency ET because there aren't any embryos left. Keep us updated and try to relax (although - if you remember - I *freaked* out the entire time I had embryos in the lab!)

Kat - hi!

nwquiz - We can buy donor sperm from the USA - but it's much more expensive. For now, we are waiting to be approved for the ds program here. Married women using donor sperm is part of the religious problem (the children are considered by some to be 'bastards' because they are concieved by a married woman and a man who isn't her husband. WTF?) We'll see.

Carol- Patience is definitely not a virtue! People keep saying to relax, because stress makes it less likely to concieve..... well - they've never done IVF! Relaxing isn't exactly easy at this point!

Kerri - I'm so sorry for your BFN. There are a ton of different FET protocols. Meet with your doc and see what she has to say. Let us know.

Margi - if you only knew how much your blinkie made me laugh -- I'm super allergic to pineapple (like - anaphylactic shock if I eat it) So hopefully no pineapple for me! -- amazing how we freak out at every turn. I hope your SnS is everything you want it to be and MORE!

Tiger - how was your SnS? estradiol should really help your lining. Tomorrow still the big day?

Jeib - good luck on your baseline!

Ashley - WHAT? THAT'S AMAZING! I really think the first number was just a lab error. Of course, we all freaked out about it for a week. 6 weeks might be a bit early to see a heartbeat, but hopefully.

Lou - if you qualify for IVF under the system (which we do), then you get unlimited IVF until you have 2 children (we actually had to fight it - our twins were born alive.... so we had to get an exception to have them not counted as our 2 kids - that was painful... but bureaucratically necessary). If you have twins, you can get a special discount for another pregnancy (ie, the third kid). Also, I hear that IVF is much cheaper here anyways (right, Margi?). I hope your u/s today is GREAT! We are all waiting to hear - so update soon! Post a cute little pic of your bean! (btw, it's 11am here.... if you lived here, you would already have had it! too bad that you live so far away!)

LYD - I knew NOTHING about dogs when we got ours. David always wanted a dog (he grew up with dogs) but I had never even been near one. We adopted a cute little puppy from the shelter. David was working, but I was home (semester break from school). All of a sudden, I was puppy training! I did a lot of internet reading - and housetraining was my first priority. Now, our dog is amazing. He waits until we get home to go out to potty (we live in an apartment, so a doggy door isn't an option). He also is a super-sleeper. He doesn't MOVE from our bed before about 1pm. When we wake up to go to work or whatever, he glares at us until we turn the bedroom light off, then he steals our pillows and snuggles in for his nap. He doesn't even want to go out for potty in the morning. If you try to drag him out to the yard, he just shivers and stares at you until you let him back in the house :D He usually goes out potty twice a day - once when we get home from work (6pm) and once before bed (11pm). We also excersize him once a day (either a long walk or a trip to the doggie park). If it's raining/cold/etc, we give him a special toy/treat to occupy him in the evening. He basically sleeps 18 hours a day. I'm home now (unemployed) and he STILL doesn't move before noon. I'm awake and walking around now - and he is still in bed. Cute, but LAZY! We really lucked out. Some dogs will destroy things if bored. I'm not sure at all about breeds, since we adopted a shelter mutt. Try doing some internet research. (btw - we don't want another dog, but we keep talking about getting a cat now!)

Image
the day we got him! how cute!

Image
his favorite place! can you spot the doggie nose?

Nicole - I also talk to DH about you ladies! He thinks I'm a little weird -but understands why I'm so invested here as more and more of our real life friends say the darndest things about the IVF/losses. Y'all are the only ones who really understand.

AFM - 7"dpo" and no POAS yet. David is bribing me to wait. Yes. Seriously. He brings home a gift for me every day I don't use a pee stick. He wants me to wait until at least Sunday, and more likely Tuesday. oy - just one more week! I think I can do it!

I was a bit crampy yesterday (in my lower back - where my period cramps and labor contractions come from). I'm not sure, but I'm hoping that's a good thing. (it could also have been the chili I had for dinner.... I'm just paying waaaaaay too much attention to that area!)

okay okay - don't tell David!

I took a HPT with SMU.... definitely BFN - so no trigger!

Hopefully I'll get my BFP in a few days.

Hi everyone! :)

HopeisallIhave- Image I am so happy for you and I feel your excitment all the way to my living room! :D I know is still early but I hope you a bonus heartbeat on the upcoming u/s!!! Enjoy being pregnant my friend!!! you deserve it!! Image

SDTrying- your story with your 2year old (Boy or girl?) is adorable! :P hope add another member to your family soon! :) I admire your courage on POAS!

Lou- How was your u/s? I am excited for you! Everything is goint to be just fine! stop worrying! I am praying that you are just a crazy pregnant woman that wants to vomit and have back pains all the time just to make sure she is pregnant still! I am sure that you are just one of those blessed women whom feel nothing during pregnancy and have the energy and feeling happy all the time enjoying their pregnancies! You are SO pregnant my friend! Enjoy it! Image

Margi-Can't wait to hear how grown your follies are!!! Keep up that PMA! PMA! PMA! 3 more days to Cali!!! I am so excited for you its like I am the one that is going!

CjinNC-Thank you for praying for me! I appreciate it a lot! :D Dealing with infertility is damn hard alright! far away from easy! I feel that if I let my self go down with the BFN's it will only do me wrong. I dont like messing with my PMA. Infertility and IVF is such a stressfull procedure and I dont want to add to it by being more stressed and have a non positive attitute towards it. I am by nature a very happy and positive person. I always try to find the positive in the negative. And Iam not saying I always find it but I definatelly give it a good try. Especially in this IVF rollercoaster, every time I get a BFN I am crashed, I cry I feel angry that it didn't happened AGAIN but I get right back on the truck asap. Every time I start a cycle I am thinking this is IT! We are bringing home a baby this time. I dont want to stay behind from achieving my goal! and that ofcourse is to become parents my DH and have healthy baby/babies. I believe I am getting there soon! this cycle is going to work! :) We are alive! and that is a very good reason to be happy! don't you think! :D Image

Tiger- I hope your sns goes really well! :D I am sure you will see improvement in your lining the meds help. Enjoy your skiing trip! :) ...I just love French fries!!!! yummy!! Image I can have them for breakfast, lunch and dinner! But, there's always a but, ever since we've started IVF, a year and 7 months, i have stop eating junk food. I am trying to prepare me self being pregnant and I have a healthy diet. Once a month I treat my self with french fries! I cherish the day!! :D by this we get to appreciate things/specific food more! when we dont get it all the time. You know the saying "we are what we eat", Healthy diet = healthy pregnancy = healthy babies! Just think of that and you will start loving eating rice and veggies! Image

Jeib-I wish you a great start! and I hope those cramps go away soon!

Nicole-I also talk to DH about my cyber buddies :) He is happy that I am happy. He totally understands that I am "investing" so much in this board and he is glad that I have found people that speak the IVF language! None of our friends speaks IVF so its very hard to make them understand what we are going through. so I dont spent my energy in talking to people that won't get it. And to be honest, in a way I am glad they don't speak IVF so that they don't have to get through all the ivf rollercoaster shit to become a family. they are all blessed with having babies as easy as to conceive from the first time they loose that condom!

Rio- Everytime I see your name on this board I am thinking "Rio de janeiro"!! :D I would love to visit that place! I am picturing you as a lively person ready for adventure!...just a guess  :) ...btw my friend, I am glad I am your Joker and I make you laugh! Its good to have someone to cheer you up. like you do to so many women on this board..aka cheerleader! Image

Kerri- I am SO sorry. I hope your doctor has something really good to say in your appt. This whole IVF procedure is more or less a trial & error thing. so after doing it a couple of times your doctor can learn from them and hopefully at the end gives you the winning protocol. I pray good news for you. as for FET like Leorira said there are so many procedures that is best to ask your RE gives you info. All the best! :)

Nwquiz- Congratulations on being a PUPO!!!! :D ..."Sorry that the nurse was a mess and I hope it doesn't still hurts!" This was so unprofessional! your RE should be doing that from the beginning! You should have told them that on this board you are a V.I.P and you should be treated like one! No matter what, those embies are doing great in there!!! stick embies stick! and grow!! Image

Leorira- Your dog is adorable!! I had a cocker spaniel ages ago!!!!"CRAZY DOG" when I was living with my mom and when i had to move to my apartment I couldn't take her with me so I decided to give her to a cousin of mine that had children and they loved her (Kimi) and I knew she will be having a great time with them. Now me and my DH we leave in a big house with a big yard and we said from day one that we definitelly want a dog. preferably a yellow Labrador. we had this dilema though, since we want a puppy, wait until we have a baby first and then get a dog when the baby is a todler? or get the puppy now and when the baby is born we deal with it. thing is puppies are very sensitive and get jealous like humans when another comes and steals their "shine" and we dont want that to happen. so we just wait and see. but definitelly we see a dog in our family picture! :) ...I hope those back cramps mean something good! this will be your 7dpo so is likely those embies are sticking!! i am crossing my fingers for you pupo girl! :D

Longtimerivf- 7 fertilized eggs sound pretty good to me!! Your DR is right! all you want is a BFP! and you know that too. And I am wishing you a super BFP! :D the number of eggs that you had retrieved and the number fertilized is not an issue to be worry about now. there are so many women out there that can't even produce one! and others that make only one! you should feel lucky and privileged instead of feeling dissapointment my friend. I am praying for you that Friday everything will be fine! and you are going to be a PUPO!! have faith in your embies! ...btw, my friend, I havent even started stimming yet! so why POAS! On friday I am going for blood test as a result of a therapy I 've been doing with my DH gene. Long story!! :) its been more than 2 months I am on this therapy and we hope this is going to give us BFP! on Monday 28th we have an RE appt to give us the results of the blood test and the green light to start stimming! Yey!!!... As for POAS, I am far far away from being a POAS addict! In all my 4 IVF's I have POAS only one time and that was at my very first ivf and it was BFN of course so I decided never to POAS again. It felt horrible and I was devastated! I promised to my self and my DH that I will not mess up my PMA ever again and so I did. My DH told me the well known, (and so true) quote "if you can't stand the heat, get our of the Kitchen!"....that doesn't mean that I am not tempted to! I say bravo to all the brave women that POAS!!! I am supporting you all from a distance! :D

Sorry if I left anyone behind! I am posting while making veloute (creamy texture) pumking soup... yummy!!! Image Image

I hope everyone is doing great and enjoy life :D 2011 is going to bring lots of baby dust to all of us! I feel it! Those with BFN's be strong and have faith! one of these days you will have your baby miracle! Those in the ivf process, I hope your follies grow and give u a storm of eggs and excellent fertility reports! U are getting there! Almost to the finish line! Those in the 2ww believe it and it will happen! may you have healthy pregnancies all the way and deliver healthy babies! And to those of us that are waiting to start their cycle I wish patience and faith that this is IT! this is our time to jump on the mommy train! and live the parenthood journey....and to all of us, I wish PMA! PMA! PMA! Image

Hi girls...we're back from our mini vacation trip to Pittsburgh. Leora...your mom said "Hi". lol  We had fun...but the drive home was torture. We got caught in a white out blizzard and a 2 hr drive turned into 5 hrs. It was pretty scary, but Bill wanted to keep going...because he had to be at work early this morning. But, of course they got a snow day...and we could've extended our trip...had we known what we were in for.

I have some reading and catching up to do...but in the meantime...

Anton...What kind of shot were you taking and why? Looking for a list of things to talk to my doc about when I call him today...since I never heard from them since I got my beta results on Saturday. I'm kinda pissed at this point...unless they tried and it didnt go through...which is possible.
