Good evening ladies!
Ooooooh good to be home! I hate working Saturdays!

And come home with the groceries... and then have to write reports! EW! BUT! My day is now well over and I'm enjoying the time off with DH! We just could NOT decide what we wanted to do tonight, a real joke! We wanted to see The Good Shepherd, but the reviews are SO bad that we decided to wait and rent it instead. We want to see Perfume, but we have to drive downtown and didn't feel like it tonight... we'll go tomorrow instead... My DH suddenly developed a craving for Chinese Fondue, so he'll go and buy what we need, rend a DVD and we'll have a nice and cosy evening at home.
Still injecting myself with Lupron fine, though the needle hurt a little bit more the last two times. I manage. I'm not having any side effects except one...
TansRN, listen to that... I got
AF! Ain't that just perfect? LOL The nurse had warned us that I might do severe spotting, as heavy as AF... well, started spotting on Friday and by the time I was back home in the evening, I had to wear pads. Been wearing them since yesterday.
Oh, the irony! Can't have sex between transfer and blood test... not really inclined to have sex during Lupron because you have that bleeding (and let's face it, it's an unnatural bleeding so it's not... appealing at all)...
LOL my sweet DH joked the other day about that situation. "You know sweetie, the nurse did say that we can't have sex between the transfer and the test, but she said absolutely nothing about the use of your hands and mouth. So see? There's nothing to complain about!" Tee hee hee! He's silly! Men! As long as
they get
their orgasms, everything's just FINE!
Other than that, I've been to my first acupuncture appointment. It went very well, and I had a good contact with the man. He was very professional. I was very surprised, however, when he put the needles in... hey, that thing hurts! I never believed it would! I thought you felt really nothing! But when he put a needle on the inside of my elbow and then put my hand back on my tummy... eeeeek! And the one in my ear? re-eeeeek!

Don't get me wrong; it was not awful, I just went through it, but I thought it would be more zen than it was. Plus being 6 feet tall, my legs were longer than the table and I was not comfortable at all... more or less tense for those 20 minutes wait! Almost all the needles in my feet, ankles and calves only pinched a little when they went in and out, but that's it. And the elbow one did not hurt after a few minutes.
So... I have two more appointments; one next week, one the week after. He neither agreed nor disagreed about coming to the clinic on the transfer day (not that I even insist, but I found it was a plus). He first refused categorically given his busy schedule, but then I think we had a good contact and he reconsidered. He told me his plan was to really work on my uterus (blood flow) to prepare it for the transfer/implantation, and work on stress. He also said the intervention right before transfer is essentially emotional; he said he wants to make me very "zen" for that day. Then the one after transfer will probably focus on "zenness" and on uterine blood flow as well. That means about 5 appointments total. 325$CAN... ah, well. According to the studies, it's worth it. And in addition, the guy told me he worked in collaboration with several doctors from the clinic I go to, and for several years (he said the nurse's attitude was rubbish because of that). And he's been the "on call" acupuncturist for a very famous children's hospital here for years; he is now on call for two hospitals. So he has a very good reputation, and all that info made me trust him and his judgement (and his technique) even more. And you should have seen ALL the baby pics in the corridor of his cabinet...
bec WOW! 30K for cancer research?!?!

*bows* How nice of you! That's a wonderful gesture honey! You have my respect, and I'm sure you'll cheer daddy and hubby-bubby with your big belly in a couple of months! It'll be there before you know it!

And well,

thanks for what you said about my view of life and posts... I do my best!
shantala Ah, you reassure me! I tend to give much details but I'm glad you appreciate them!

About the constipation... the ladies here had a great series of posts about constipation not so long ago. They gave many tips about it... meds... non-meds... girls? Any tips? I know that eating flax seeds helps. A friend of mine used a handful of flax seeds in her morning cereal every morning when she was pregnant... and constipated. She said it won't make you go per se, but it will help you
as you go... see what I mean.
And about coke, well... two other funny facts! It can dissolve a whole T-Bone in no less than four days... a fingernail in 24 hours... and the pure coca-cola syrup, the one they later dilute to make the beverage... well, it's poisonous. The trucks that carry it are actually labelled accordingly. So please hunny, if you feel like drinking bubbles, opt for a good bottle of Perrier or San Pellegrino!
sassy you asked about my five jobs. I'm a clinical psychologist. So I do private practice in two offices I rent, plus in a clinic. That makes three. I also am the clinical psychologist of a lab at a university here (don't want to give too much personal info). Last but not least, I work as a medical psychologist in a hospital one day a week. That's the job I'm waiting for, as I wrote earlier. I should have a permanent position there, with research time as well, by June or something like that. And I'll work from 8am-3:30pm... and never worry about finding clients again... or working evenings... Oh... SWEEEEET!
tc thanks for the recipe! Sounds delicious!
jackie I'm really sorry to hear about the news...

I really hope things get better soon sweetie, and that you're getting all the support you need from the people around you. *hugs*
Good evening everybody!
Sophie
