Suga, sorry Mckenzie is crying a lot. Alyson also cried, more like screamed from 3 pm to about 5 pm everyday. She wouldn't even take formula. My doctor thought she has reflux and some kind of sensitivity to lactose and milk protein. So, we give her reflux medication and a special formula. Things have goteen much better after that. Maybe your doctor can suggest solutions... sorry I know it's hard. Yeah, it was a natural pregnancy and it is a singleton! Thank God for that.

Buckeye, I am sorry Ellie and Braeden have cold. My kids, too, have stuffy and runny nose. That makes evenings and nap time miserable. We have three humedifiers to keep little nose functioning. I hope they feel better soon. Luckily, I work from home and I have a nanny to care my twins at home and then Sean goes to a daycare. It gets expensive but this is the best arrangementfor us now. I don't know what we'll do when baby#4 arrives, but Sean will start preschool from next Sept, so I think we'll be ok.

Well, Alyson's no longer happy to be in the jumperoo, so I have to go.

Have a good weekend!

Thanks tolbee. The reflux meds are not working too well. On Monday I am going to talk to the doc. about switching them to soy. I know they do not want them off the preemie formula for awhile but I think that has something to do with it as well.

Ladies: I know a lot of you had full term with twins BUT I was wondering about the Enfamily AR (added rice) I know you are not supposed to do solids till 4 months but does this include that formula? I am going to ask the pedi on Monday about it. It is supposed to help reflux because it is heavier and not as easy to come up. Or I want to put them on soy. We shall see!

Mackenzie has not had her screaming fest yet tonight but we shall see! It is only 9PM lol. I think she stayed awake WAY too long today so she might just be exhausted.

Suga--I hope you can figure out something for the reflux! I know it takes a while to get some babies on the right meds/formula. I don't know anything about the AR. We didn't have reflux (thank GOD!)...but we did like Enfamil Gentlease...my kiddos had gas, and that formula seemed to help a lot.

Suga, I don't have experience with AR but I know babies with reflux that has no issues with cow's milk do fine with them. Alyson is on Nutramigen which has no lactose and cow's milk protein. We tried lactose-free one, too, but she was still fussy. Whenever she was fussy, we gave her gripe water. That helped, but it's not a long term solution... Hope your doctor can give you some advice. Aly is on a special compound medication for reflux. Zantac didn't help her at all. Hang in there. Once you find the magic combinatio of things, it gets way easier.

My DH left about 30 mins ago for his week long business trip. We'll see how it goes. I will try not to stress so much.

Take care!

Suga, at 2 mo, 2 weeks, they are probably too young to STTN...
You'll see the gradual sleeping...mine 'hit' the mark (slept from 8 or so till 7 a.m. one day...freaked me out, actually!) around 11-12 or 13 weeks...from then on it was like clockwork.

Now, I've spent 1.5 mos with them waking at 5, sometimes 4:30, instead of 6:45 or 7. I blamed it on solids...being hungry, transitioning...now they're back on schedule (somewhat, at least will wake between 6 and 7)...
Now daylight savings time will get in the way.
grrrrrr
always something!

Congratulations Liz35 and welcome! It's very special to have twins and we are all so lucky. Best wishes for pregnancy and hope it goes smooth! We are here for you if you have any questions or want to vent out!

Hi Woodcliff, how are you?
My twins also started to wake up at five at one point. It sorted out on its own but I was worried for a little while! Your little ones must be getting big. Mine are 8 month already. Both of them sit up now and amazing they do things with wills.

Suga, how is it going? Mine slept through the night at 3 month-old. It was a long journey. My DS slept longer than 5 hours at 6 weeks of age, but he was a full-term baby. Did you find out about the formula? Hope Mckenzie feels comfortable in her little tummy. Poor little thing.

Well, my DH will come back this Sat and just cannot wait. I am tired but my kiddos slept well last night so I feel more energetic now. I asked my mgr if I could do half-days this week and I got an approval so I work until 9 am everyday. So, that helps. When DH's gone, I really appreciate his existence and all he does.

Hope everyone's doing well.

Congrats Liz! Welcome! Twins are great but a lot of work! lol. Prepare yourself mentally!!! lol. They are great though! They will be your biggest loves in the world.

Well I suppose I will update you 0n the girls. They put the girls on Prilosec. So they are on Zantac, Reglan, and Prilosec! All for reflux! They are hoping that the Prilosec does the trick and they can come off the Reglan and Zantac. So far it has help Mackenzie TONS! She wants to eat again!!! She eat 4 oz at at least 2 feeds a day! She is a happy spitter now!!! Brooke on the other hand is still bad. I think she just has it a ton worse. Not as many vomits but you can tell she is still in pain. She spits up a lot and it still hurts her to do that. Plus she has a hard time farting lol. Mackenzie just lets em rip but Brooke I think is going to give herself hemorrhoids. But they are gaining weight steadly. Brooke is 7lbs 11 oz and Kenzie 7lbs 6 oz. I think Kenzie will catch up now that she is eating though.

Also!!! They sleep 4 - 41/2 hours at night!!! Brooke can go for 5! It is wonderful but interesting at the same point. It still takes me an hour to feed both of them so it does not help me that much. PLUS Mackenzie will sometimes decide it is time to play after the first feeding. I had to let her cry it out for like an hour one night! It was horrible. She just needs to learn though. Last night she cried it out for like 15 min?? They are staying awake longer in the day which makes it better at night. I can not wait till they are going 12 hours!!! It will be a life saver!

Thanks for the welcome messages! Slightly nervous, but mostly excited. I guess because I'm only 7weeks. Ask me in about 7 months. LOL. I keep having these crazy dreams of me feeding 2 babies at night, 2 babies in high chairs, carrying 2 babies in car seats and I wake up going...Is this really going to happen. BUT then I start getting so excited. I would think that being a twin is SOOOO cool.

Hi Girls,

My DH finally came home on Sat. It was very difficult to care for three kids by myself and also get up at early in the morning for work. He says he has no business trip for a while, so I have some break this sime. Now he has a jet lag and he's off schedule. We went to a pumpkin patch on Sun and carved out my first pumpkin. I've never done it before. I roasted the pumpkin seeds, too, and it turned out ok. Sean's afraid of Mr. Pumpkin. He won't even go near it. He's two after all!

How's everyone else? I have to take my kids in for flu shots before they catch one and I have to get one myself. Did you know there is a vaccine for Rotovirus (sp?)? I am thinking of having my kids get it because it reduces the chance of getting a stomach bug by 70%, I've read. Even if they catch one, they say it is much milder.

Anyway, I am working right now so I shouldn't stay here, too, long. It's 5:30 am and it is very quiet. I just had to say hello before I start my day.

Take care!

Kimi

Hi ladies! Sorry to be absent...but boy, this new stage of teething, solid foods, rolling...yikes! Has me hopping.
Buckeye, it was so good to get your email! Thank you...hope all is well...your teaching schedule sounds good...I'm impressed you can pull an outfit together every day of the week

I have a question, and I thank everyone in advance...I don't know what on earth to buy...

OK, I need new car seats! My babies are 28 and 29 inches long, too long for the Gracos...
Any recommendations? I saw a Britax that was $309 or something and went up to 65 pounds...but then someone talked about 'booster' car seats and I got all confused.
If I buy a good Britax, can I use it for the next 3 yrs or so?
Are there travel systems attached, like the snap n gos? Or do I just bite the bullet and buy a good car seat and keep my stroller separate?

I really appreciate any help...I always follow your recommendations...
OK, wee ones are waking up...will come back, promise, for personals...

Hi Woodcliff, we have Britax, too for my first-born. It's very comfortable for him and he likes sitting in it. We are considering buying Britax for my twins as well. $300 a piece is quite expensive but it is worth it, I think. Babycenter.com was doing a free-shipping sale for Britax but not sure if they still are. Let us know what you ended up buying.

Well, the girls have another appt tomorrow. I am afraid they are going to say to put Brooke on Rice Cereal in her milk because she is still spewing at least once a day if not more. We will see how her weight is. Hopefully she is still gaining enough to where we do not have to do that. Other than that they are fine! It is so hard to get them on the same awake/sleep schedule. At night they are almost the same and sleep pretty well but during the day at least one is awake and the other asleep. Dont know how to fix that yet.

I think I will take the advice on Britax...at least look into them!
