JerseyGal, glad your tests went well last week and everything is normal. I don't think we'll get the CVS done at this point, especially since the nearest facility that does them is 2 hours away. It must give peace of mind for you though. Oh, and I have a good friend who didn't find out what she was having, but her DH knew the whole time. That would be hard! At least you will both be wonderfully surprised at the same time.
Rinnie, thanks for the paste recipe. Hey I'll give anything a try to keep that from happening again! I think we're going to find out what we're having, just so we can plan like you said. Either way I guess we still have some time to decide. Great to hear your u/s went well today!
KB, congrats on a great u/s for you too. It definitely is like a huge weight is lifted after each u/s and confirmation that the baby(ies) are doing okay.
Marina, I think the screening is definitely a personal decision. We were also told that there are false positives and negatives, so I guess in some situations it can cause undue stress. It sounds like waiting to week 20 is what would make you feel most comfortable. It's such a big decision and we thought long and hard about it.
I just went for b/w and nuchal scan yesterday. It was the most awesome experience! We were able to see baby's face, hands, feet, organs, pretty much everything! And we heard the heartbeat for the first time...we had only seen the rate before. Little one was wiggling around and flipping over, really cute. It truly is a miracle. I can't wait to go back! The baby's nuchal results came back normal but we have to wait for me to get more b/w at week 16 and then find out the final b/w results at week 17. That seems like so long! That's also when we will find out whether it's a boy or girl...I think.
Happy New Year to everyone!
