Sabi - bummer about the hospital stay. Hope things are going better for you. You don't have too long to go now and you'll have your little ones in your arms.

Carolyn - Your babies are doing great! Way to go! Can't wait to hear the news when you deliver

Summer - Anna sounds like a delight, glad you are enjoying motherhood!

Chriss - What a trooper you are ... 4 1/2 months of no driving. You really went through a lot for your little ones, but I'm sure you'd do it all over again. Enjoy your craziness, we'll all be joining you soon!

AFM, we got the nursery painted, picked up the furniture, and got it all set up. Boy did the room get small quick with two cribs in there! My baby shower is this weekend, so now we are in clean up mode, as the shower is at our house ... we didn't know if I would be on strict bed rest when we planned it. So, we figured better safe than sorry. I have my next appt on Wednesday and I'm hoping I don't get put on strict bed rest ... my feet & ankles are HUGE

Hi everyone,

Only have a minute but I wanted to say hi to you all. I've been reading up when I can. Seem to never have time to post. It will get better once we have our routine more figured out. It seems to change a lot. Two babies... no sleep!!!

Hopeful, enjoy your baby shower. You've been waiting for this for a long time. It's a wonderful experience!

Thinking of you guys. Carolyn... is it time?

another eventful couple of days up in Northamptonshire – another false alarm labour early hours of Tuesday morning so been back in hospital – as my mum keeps telling me – you waiting long enough for the embies to stick and get comfy they are too comfy now to come out !! – so am now booked for induction on 12th if nothing happens in meantime – baby 2 has moved again and is no longer breach so going to try natural as that is what they are advising – and am sure if there was any potential risk they would not – so by the 15th at latest i will be a mummy !!

Hope everyone else keeping well xx

Carolyn, how exciting, not long now, you have done so well. Valentine babies would be lovely. good luck!!!

Chriss, big hugs to you, thouse first few weeks are sooo tiring. I don't know if you have tried it, but we found through the night doing a feed each (both babies) rather than a baby each was better as it gave the other person a longer sleep, ie: DH would do the 11pm feed i would already be in bed, then i would do the next feed 2am, then DH would do the 5am feed this gave us both a sleep of around 5 hours. Then once the babies are bigger and doing 4 hour feeds you get a 6 hour sleep. Hope you are all healed now and feeling much better.

take care
Jayne

Guess I'm next to deliver as ... I delivered on March 2nd. I started showing signs of preeclampsia on March 1st at my OB appointment, they found protein in my urine. My OB had blood tests done and was to call me back on March 2nd, however, my water broke while eating breakfast  My DH rushed home and off to the hospital we went. My blood pressure was very high so even though I had just eaten I was fast tracked to the operating room and had my c-section. I was then put in the critical care unit (where I still am as I get my own room  ) and put on magnesium. The first 48 hours I wasn't feeling too hot but I'm doing much better now.

As for my baby girls ... they are 7 weeks early but doing relatively well. We have Sophia who weighed 3 lbs 13 oz and Kaelyn who weighed 3 lbs 15 oz. Sophia has been making great progress each day and we are able to go to the NICU to feed and change her. They think she'll be in the NICU for about 2 weeks. Kaelyn is a little behind her sister. She still needs a ventilator to help her breath and is being fed by a feeding tube. We also found out today she has a duct that hasn't closed properly. This is apparently common in preemies, so they started her on the meds tonight to hopefully close the duct. The nurses in the NICU are absolutely wonderful and a great resource for new parents. I couldn't get out of the wheelchair to change Sophia's diaper the first day but with some nudging from my brother and the nurse my DH was walked through it ... I was very proud of him as it is scary changing their diaper when they are so small and have tubes connected to them :?

Chriss, Sabi and Carolyn I hope you are all able to get some sleep and are enjoying being new mommies!

Everyone else, I hope you are doing well!

Thank you, Sabi. I hope you are getting some rest :D How are your boys doing? I'm sure they are keeping you busy but you are loving every minute of it!

I am happy to say the meds worked for Kaely and the duct we were concerned about closed. Thus, we were able to start bottle feeding her yesterday. Both girls are making progress each day which we couldn't be more thrilled about. Please, keep them in your prayers as the sooner we can get them both home the better. I was suppose to be discharged yesterday but my blood pressure remained high. I was given a higher dosage of meds and observed for one more night. It isn't great this morning, but I think it is low enough they will feel comfortable discharging me. Sadly, I will be leaving without my girls, but thankfully I know they are in good hands. We will be following in Chriss's footsteps and making the daily treks back and forth to visit.

I hope all of you are doing well, enjoying motherhood and getting enough rest.
