Suzette Imageyou are very welcome and im sure with all the wonderful ladys here you will fiind all the understanding and support you need i know noone in my life really understands IVF my inlaws try so hard to but from the day of baseline they phone every couple of days asking if we are pregnant yet.. bless them, after my first failed i only told three people i was doing my second i couldnt stand all the not so helpful comments some people feel the need to heap on me.... wow to go form 5 eggs to 23 thats fantastic ... whats a flare protocol? i want one :D and you got a little girl its always so good to read of a positive cycle thank you for sharing that with us, ive never done the nasal spray i always use lupron for my cycles i hope soemone can shead some light on that for you...

Lisa, yeah im a Brit, but no i met my American hubby in england but we got married over here (USA) so all our cycles have been here... i have to say i dont think we could have afforded one if i wasnt blessed enough by my DH's insurance we where covered for three full cycles ... yeah the meds are outragous about $4000 i think maybe more... my ivf costs $12000 each attempt(without meds) so after this time i cant afford it... big fingers crossed for me.. i told my dr i want frosties as back up

Well I have done the first jab of Bruesaline, which I couldn't get to go in to start with. On the 3rd attempt it worked but the area round the site is very red now. So how long before the effects kick in. I have felt really bad since we collected the meds last week but I think that was the anticipation.

Good luck to everyone else. It is lovely to know that there are a few of us going through the cycle at the same time.

Angela

Hi everyone!

Aunty- Yes this is my first and we both are very excited. I had been researching and learning about the IVF process for a few months now, preping my self mentally. But yesterday when we went in for instructions and DH really saw all meds for the first time and learned what we had to do, he was like "I had no idea!". It's alot bigger of a deal than he thought. He realized that we have to pay close attention to the details, because if you give yourself the wrong dose or miss a dose or if you don't get that HCG shot at a precise moment, you could screw up the whole thing.
Speaking of screwing things up, the nurse instructed us to never use the Q-cap with the Menopur because they had found out that a lot of women we're not getting pregnant and it was because they were not getting their correct dose while using the Q-cap.
Anyway, the nurse was very encouraging and I am even more optimistic than I was before. She told us to always think positive "you can get pregnant". She says that when you worry or think negatively, your body produces a hormone (can't remember the name) and when you produce that hormone "things can happen". And if we don't get pregant this time, we will do another cycle with our frozen embies and that they have had alot of success with frozen embyro transfers. She told us we are in very good care and she has worked around the country with other REs and "these guys are the best". I don't want to boast to much because if I get BFN, I'll feel really stupid

Anyway I'm almost looking forward to the shots because every shot that gets done, the closer we are to retrieval and tranfer :D

Hello to all. Sorry I have been really lazy about posting to the board. I am going to have to get better about that. It's the busiest time of year for us as DH is a high school football coach and practice begins tomorrow for the new season. A fine time I picked to start IVF again! Anyway...I consider myself a "coach's widow" until probably December as I will not see him a whole lot since he'll be working ALL THE TIME!!! Ahh, the life of a coach's wife. Of course, I don't think anybody else takes high school football quite as seriously as we do here in Texas! Anyway...I am glad I have my friends here to rely on throughout the fall to get me through this round and the FET. I am so thankful to have the support and encouragement of all of you. Have a good week!

Hi everyone.
Good to see we have a nice long list going for September.
I haven't been on for a few days, had a bit of a rest from talking about it but as my THIRD(!) attempt at baseline scan is this Thursday I'm gearing myself up again! Bad news tho, no AF yet, which I was told to expect last week, so, a little concerned about that but trying to stay positive. This is now my fifth week of downregging with Buserelin so I hope to God we can move onto stimming after the scan this Thursday.
Is it a bad sign that AF hasn't showed up? After 2 weeks of downregging my lining was 7mm and then after an extra week it had gone up to 11mm! So, I've pretty much been going in the wrong direction. They gave me a shot of Ovitrelle to collapse the cyst and said I would have a heavy AF. Worried now that I haven't had AF and things will have stood still/got worse!
Help!

Souris,

Princess, we miss you when you go off for a while. I'm doing ok with the stimms. Felt a lot different this time compared to 3 other times. I have been a lot sicker and had quite a lot of abdominal pain too. They dropped my dose after 2 days this time too, I was 6 days on the higher dose last time so I am hoping this is because there is more action there but who knows. The dose has been dropping every day. I think my scan is Thursday or Friday this week. I am a little nervous this time about the scan but probably bcoz of the sickness I have felt. Last 3 times I only had very few mature eggs. 7 @ 1st time, 9 @ 2nd time and 7 @ last time.
I hope I get +10 this time.

Jackie,

Missing you loads honey. Dying to hear how your weekend went in Canada.

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all doing well and excited about your upcoming cycles.

Hi all.

Great news Ems. Mine never came on time when I was ready to start cycle!

I had a major panic attack last night Image I was out last night gardening, went to bed at 10 then suddenly thought OMG I haven't taken my inj!!!!!!!!! Ran downstairs and took it. I always take it at 6.30pm. Phoned my clinic today and told not to panic - no harm done. Thank God.

Take care Paula x Image

Hi ladies and welcome to islacraig.

I have done 2 days of down regulating and woken up this morning with a wooly head and feel as though I have got flu coming on. Is this one the side effects of the meds? I hope so as I can't face being ill on top of this.

Hope you are all doing well

Hi everyone,

I've been reading how you are all getting on but haven't posted because I hadn't heard from my clinic.

I must admit it got me stressed out, so me and my DH went away camping with a couple of friends, drank a bit more that we should have, had a few crazy nights and guess what - this morning the letter arrived!!

So to cut to the chase, I've to start my nasal spray to down-regulate on 28th of August (day 21 of my cycle) with my baseline scan three weeks later, so it looks as though I'm going to be an August September buddy!

For anyone who doesn't know, this is my first time for IVF. I had an operation (my sixth) three months ago and had a pelvic abcess and both my falopian tubes removed. I'm so excited.

But the first day of my nasal spray is the first day I start art college too!

Talk about bad timing, I'll probably be all tired and emotional - oh well, just have to stay positive. :P and hope the side effects aren't too bad for meeting all those new people.

Good luck all,

Hello ladies....

I am back.. It feels like I have been away for weeks.. We have so many newbies.. Welcome to all of you.. I have to say this group is shaping up so nicely.. We are going to have so much support.... I can not imagine going through this without you ladies...

Jemma
I am with Aunty please dont ever feel like you are interupting.. That is what we are here for... We are your friends and we want to help anyway we can.. If I read correctly you got the ticket all worked out.. You are well on your way to your BFP :D :D

Macca
How are your big strong follies doing.. Growing big and strong everyday.. I am still doing my crazy dance for you.... :D I bet you will have the best follies yet this time. I missed you all so much while I was gone...

Neelie
Don't worry about the being tired and emotional.. You will have a good long 9 months to sort it all out :D Timing is like anything we try to plan it all out and it just works the way it wants too.. :D Good for you though that way you got one last party in before your cycle. It was probably a nice stress reliver :D

Anglea
Are you feeling better? I have heard lots of laides say the meds made them feel a bit ill in the begining. I hope you are feeling better...

Laura
Did AF show up? I am so excited for you to start again. It will happen so quickly.. You are putting in a new med this time right and doing the full bladder? How exciting to be starting.. :D

Souris.
It was so nice to here from you.. You have waited so long for this cycle.. I am glad you are here with us....

Ems
Yeah its about time AF showed up for you... So you had a cyst aspiration(spelling) I have heard lots about this but some docs do them and some don't. I will be crossing fingers and toes and saying prayers for you :D

Paula (Mortisha)
I did that too when I was on my injectibles.. One morning I woke up thinking I had missed the dose all together.. I think our minds play tricks on us.. I am glad your doc was able to re-assure you.. Can you set a alarm on a cell phone or something.. That is how I reminded my self...

islacraig
Welcome and you will find tons of support here.. This is an amazing group of ladies..

Amy (AMD) Even though your DH will be busy with all the football you have all of us for PMA.... My DH is quite busy too lately with work and he went back to school (on line at night) I feel like I am a computer widow... But I feel so lucky to have all of you ladies...

Aunty my dear how are you? I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend of just sunning... Is it still really hot there? Its bad here muggy and hot but I wont complain.. better than winter.. I missed you all and I am glad to be back :D

For me nothing really exciting.. I still have the bloating thing (not really bloating more like weight gain in my belly, thighs and lower back) I just don't get it.. I have read that IVF can bring on weight but my cycle is long over and now I have gained weight? I just hope it goes away becauase for my September IVF (BFP of course) I will be putting on that baby weight so I need this to be gone first....my hubby keeps looking at me and I know he is thinking (is she preggers) but since my doc has acutally laughed at me when I asked if I could get pregnant without help ( I have PCOS and dont ovulate) so this is just mother natures curel joke by saying you are not preggers you are getting pudgy.. I guess I need to start working out.. OH WELL......

I hope I did not miss anyone..
Love and hugs
Jackie
