She's here! After a visit to the doctor last Friday we were sent in for an induction due to low fluid levels. They induced and I labored for 21 hours before she finally decided to join us. She was stuck and they were planning to try the vacuum before doing a c-section. After a break from pushing we tried one last time and she was born! I lost a lot of blood because we couldn't get the placenta out for over an hour, but it all worked out in the end.

Stella June was born on Saturday, April 28th at 9:26 am. She was 7lbs, 4oz and 19 1/2 in long. She is perfect!

I'll post photos on photobucket today. Rittie, your girls are beautiful, thanks for posting photos. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their little ones. Will write more soon... time to feed (again).

Hi ladies, me again. Just wanted to let you know I posted pics of Stella on photobucket today. I saw Xavier and Isaiah Dione, they are so precious! How are they doing?

Stella has had trouble getting to sleep after night feeds, and she is struggling with latching on as well (she had it and then seemed to forget how to do it). I am so exhausted I can't see straight. Both my mom and DHs mom were here this past week, but as of today we are on our own. I almost expect it to be better, having fewer people to worry about. Now we can really figure out our new "normal."

I hope you are all well. All of you that have had your babies, please share some pics if you can. We should also think about moving our little group over to the parents pages I guess...

Take care,
Lucyluna

Big congratulations to you Lucyluna. Stella is absolutely gorgeous. I am so pleased you suggested posting pics on Photobucket. It is amazing that we're able to see the babies that we have been talking about and now delivered. Let us know how you're getting on.

Anna, did you enjoy your pub lunch with hubby? Can you recommend a babies friendly place to go round Surrey?

Lots of love
Rittie

Hi to everyone - I have been a lurker for the past few months but have been following everyone's progress and am so glad to see that all deliveries have been going smoothly for the most part. Our little Leonardo David was born about 10 days early on April 23. I had no idea that I was going into labor and went to work thinking I had gas pains or a bad case of diarrhea coming on! Everyone at work but me seemed to realize that I was in labor and I went directly there from the hospital. Leo was born at 6:48 in the evening - I almost had a vaginal delivery but at the last minute sort of went into a panic and was so exhausted they did a c-section. I have been recovering pretty well. Adjusting to being a parent is a big change but both DH and I are thrilled (although definitely sleep deprived). I'll be following everyone along through their journeys through parenthood. Congrats to everyone!

Hello ladies, how is everyone today?

Lucy, many congratulations on the birth of Stella. Well done you. Hope you are Ok and all is going well.

Well done Claudia too. Congratulations to you.

Just thought I'd ask the ladies here if they have heard of the Dunston baby crying language? It was on the Opra Winfrey show in the USA. A girl from our nct class bought the DVD and it has been shared round the group ever since. There are many people who think it is all a load of rubbish but I think it is fab. It has literally changed our lives. After watching the DVD we found we were confusing Matthews cries for 'burp me' for 'feed me' so we changed what we did. It also distinguishes between upper wind pain and lower wind pain. There are also lots of ideas on how to hold and sooth your baby. Maybe other mums knew instinctively what to do...I didn't!!

Anyway Matthew is a different child, so much more settled. Maybe this period won't last forever but for the time being it is great. I feel that I can meet his needs so much better. Would love to hear what other new mums think.

Hugs to all here, take care

Hi ladies,

Happy Mother's Day to you all! It has been a rough couple of weeks here, but it is all worth it. Stella is great and I am hanging tough. Stella is a sweet baby, but she needs to be held much of the time. She has a really hard time falling asleep on her own and can get overtired easily. I resisted rocking her to sleep in the beginning, but caved when she was screaming in the middle of the night. We also had some trouble with nipple confusion due to the early use of a pacifier, but we are working through it. I think breastfeeding has been the hardest thing I have ever done in my life (and I thought labor was hard).

Anna, I saw that Oprah episode and was facinated. My mom bought me the Dunstan baby dvd and we watched it when Stella was one week old. The only thing we got out of it was that Stella is a windy baby, and needs to be burped often. We can't get any of the other sounds from her crys! We are hopeful that in a few weeks we can hear more of the sounds. Maybe since she is still figuring out why she is crying, all of her crys sound the same. How old was Matthew when you watched the dvd? I am so glad it has worked for you!

Claudia, congrats to you! I hope you all are doing well.

Just a note... I started a new thread on the Parents board so we can all stay in touch now that we have had our babies. It is called the Spring 07 Babies. I hope you will all join me. See you on the other side!
