Wow, suga, I hope the insurance comes through for you! You're lucky though....my insurance didn't cover ANY fertility treatment. It sucked at the time, but so worth it in the end!

Today our girls are four months old! Hard to believe! (Well, they are technically 2 months!). I can not believe how far my little ones have come! They are both smiling and Mackenzie is talking now and Brooke is more of a squealer but trying to talk. Brooke stands up and bounces up and down and they both are becoming quite the sitters! It is just amazing! It took so much to get them here and now I can not imagine my life without them.

Next week they have their 4 month appt. Are there any shots? Anyone know? Hopefully not. I was looking at their two year old shots I believe (could be wrong) and there are SO many. I am going to get those spread out for sure! We are having a long chat with the pedi about getting Brooke on a different formula. I think she is having a hard time digesting it and it is giving her BAD gas that she has a hard time passing and tummy aches. So I want her off it. Hopefully they let me this time (preemie formula).

Suga~ Good luck at your appointment! I can't remember what shots they did or didn't get but if I recall correctly that was a shot free exam. It's hard to believe how old they are already. Seems funny but I remember always thinking of their "Corrected age" as well and now I can't remember when I stopped but mine are 15 months and every bit of it!

I saw your holiday pics on your blog and they are soooo cute!!!

Good luck!

I need help! lol. I just can not seem to get Mackenzie on a schedule! Brooke is great! She is following babywise to a tee! She naps right and eats right, etc! She goes to bed on time! Mackenzie on the other hand....she wants to nap when she wants to nap she does not want to go to bed till like 9PM sometimes 10pm! She cries and cries in the crib so I have to get her or she wakes up her sister (they have to share a room) so last night I put her in our room to cry it out...after 45 minutes of it I got her. Today I am not letting her take a nap after 4PM feed to see if that helps.

Also, when did yours start sleeping through the night?! Mine are over 11lbs now and still eat at 7:00 PM 10PM 3AMish and then 7AM to wake up. When do they drop that 3AM feed?! I looked through my baby book and I was sleeping through the night at 12lbs as was my sister.

Suga~ Well, let's start off by saying YEAH Brooke!!!!!!! Now we may need to have a little talk with Mackenzie? The only things I can think of to help may be napping them in different rooms. Do you have a pack-n-play you can set up ina different room. We had to do this to Bodie when he thought he was sick of our schedule and it only took a few nights and he was back on track. My only other thought is if she is at all gassy or needing better burped? Just keep plugging at it and it will work. Don't let her get over tired though because mine never slept well if they didn't nap well.

As for sleeping thru the night, maybe they just aren't quite there yet. My babies were sleeping thru at this point but it's hard to compare. Mine were 6 weeks early and still really little at four months. I just looked in their baby books and they were 9.3 lbs. and 10 even. I'm a mean mommy though because I just cut out the 3 am feed early. The first time they did it on their own I thought WHOOHOOOO and I didn't let them turn back. That was at about 2.5 months. I would just go in and put a passy in, calm them and go back if I needed to. That's about when mine started to do 8 hours straight and I just saw that I wrote at 4.5 months they did the 12 hours every night now. It's probably just around the corner!!!

I may not be making any sense right now because I'm all hopped up on a Dairy Queen blizzard!!! I only craved fruit when I was pg with the twins and overall really healthy stuff. This pg is not the same! I NEEDED that ice cream!!!! YIKES!!!! It's not looking good for me!

UGH! They need to go through the night! I mean I feel bad because they wake up screaming wanting that bottle....I figure when they hit 12 or 13 pounds i will make them go the night because then I think they are big enough. Everyone I talk to says 11 or 12 pounds was the magic number....

Kholtan--you crack me up! Dairy Queen was my little vice when I was PG. I kept it fairly under control, but every once in a while, I felt the NEED too! How's your pregnancy going? Feeling okay?

Suga--Be patient. Don't get too caught up on their weights. It's also a developmental issue too. Your girls are still very young. 2 months, adjusted right? Mine slept through at 10 weeks, so I bet yours are getting very close. Do you have the book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child? That's another book that I used religiously. It really helps explain how their development effects their sleep schedules. Just keep working at it. It will happen! (until they start teethin! )

Our Christmas tree is up and still standing! It's been 24 hours, and they haven't knocked it down......YET..... :D :D They also helped me put sprinkles on sugar cookies today. They had a blast and made a big mess, of course! It's so fun to see what they can do these days. I'm going to try and post a few pics on the bucket tonight.

Kim!!!!! I CANNOT believe the hair your two have! Ellie Bellie has a little whale spout and everything! I am patiently waiting for more hair around here but it's a slow go of it! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her hair!!!!!!! It's so pretty too! Cute pics BTW! Good luck keeping that x-mas tree up! Ours is going in our gated off formal living room. It's only gated because the fireplace is in there that we run 24 hours a day but I figure it will keep it safe and free from fall over. My MIL cannot figure our why I don't want to put it in the family room???? Are you kidding me! I don't have the patients to keep them out of it all day EVERY day. Maybe next year.

When did everyone take their babies in for their 15-18 month check up? I'm on the fence about waiting until we are closer to 18 months but then again I like the confirmation about how they are doing. Bodie has been chewing and then spitting out a lot of his food lately. ANyone else have this issue? Not really worried over it but I surely don't want it to go on for too much longer. Any suggestions?

Better run. Have a great day everyone!

Kimberly--We had an appt. at 15 months, and we have our 18 month appt this Friday. That's the way our pedi sets things up...he spreads shots out, so maybe that's why? I'd check with your pedi and see what he says. I checked out your blog--LOVE LOVE LOVE the play land you went to! OMG--I would be there every day, if it weren't so $$$. We have a couple of cool places around here to go to. One is the Children's museum of discovery. I'm hoping to get a family pass for Christmas so we can go all the time. It's free for the kids, but it's $8/adult. And, due to my crazy children, two adults have to go with them. You are so lucky to have so many neat activities near you for the kids to enjoy. I haven't tried story hour at the library yet--probably out of sheer fear....my kids love books, but I don't know if they'd be willing to sit with the other kids around, kwim?

For all you mommas worried about Xmas trees. I got some great advice, and it seems to be working SO FAR! We use the rule of "one finger" with the kids. They are allowed to touch the ornaments with one finger and one finger ONLY! Mine are old enough that they seem to get it. So, their curiosity of touching the tree can be satisfied without them being able to rip ornaments down! ha! Now, we'll see if this works long term. So far, so good.

Well the girls had their 4 months appt today! According to their scale Brooke is 12 lbs even and 21 inches. I think they said 38 on the head? I do not remember. Kenzie is 11 lbs 9 oz and 21 1/2 inches and I think 39 on the head? lol. But Brooke has GERD and the pedi said there is nothing else we can really do other than up her dose on the Zantac and the Prevacid. So hopefully that helps a little. She does not want the milk to be thicker more than it is cause they are gaining weight faster than they are growing.

So hopefully they grow taller here soon so they can hit the growth chart. Everything else they were in like the 10% which I think is normal for preemies. But at least they are on the chart now!

She wants me to start putting them in the crib to sleep instead of their car seat. She said that as long as I prop up the crib it should be fine. Other wise they are going to get really used to sleeping in the car seat and have a harder time adjusting and sleeping through the night. So pray that it goes well! I am going to have to go out and buy more sheets cause I am sure there will be lots of spit ups!

But the girls are exhausted cause they missed their nap entirely so they are napping now. So they are a little off schedule today and not feeling well from their shots.

Otherwise they are in good health! We start rice cereal (like spoon fed) in FEB!!! And that is their next appt too. Hopefully they are ready to eat solids cause she said that should help a lot with the GERD.

Suga~ No time but I thought I would quickly say. . .don't buy sheets. Just buy the little waterproof crib spit up things. That's clearly not the technical name but they have what I am talking about at Babies'r'us. That way you can just change those quickly and not the whole bed. Sounds like an overall good appointment! :)

Suga--yeah on the good appt! I was going to say what Kholtan said....buy sheet protectors. I actually got some at Babies R Us that snap around the poles of the crib...Let me try to find the link:

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.js ... Id=3188798

It's called the "ultimate crib sheet"...I have 2 for each crib!

hi everyone i guess i need to join this board. we saw 2 heart beats today. i am excited but overwhelmed not sure i am going to be able to handle two. could anyone out there tell me when they started having morning sickness with twins? also how fast did you gain weight. i sure have alot of questions because i never expected to be blessed with both little guys working out.i have not had any as of yet, at 6 1/2 weeks. i am really hoping it stays that way. also does taking the progesterone shots and estogene patches help with morning sickness at all?

kke: First, CONGRATS! Twins are a lot of fun! I never had morning sickness with my girls. I think I got sick like 3 times and that was when they got bigger and were pushing up on things and the acid build up, etc. So no morning sickness here! I was on suppositories till they were 8 weeks old cause with the shots I had an allergic reaction BAD! I only gained 19 pounds (lost some cause I ate really healthy and not too much hungry) BUT I delivered at 30 plus 6 days. So, congrats again!!!!

Ok, I need to ask opinions. When should I take them out of their car seats? Next week I think I am going to sleep out in the living room with Brooke only and get her to go longer than 4 hours at night. I need to work with her! Kenzie I think could go longer. So, maybe we will not wake up Kenzie out here in the living room so she can go longer stretch.

I was thinking that once I get her going longer then I would put them in the crib? I have the little incline wedge to go under the sheet which I will use but I have to get things to hold them up there cause they slide right down. And I will need to buy those protectors. Are they plastic so you can just wipe them off? No where here sells them in stores so I have to order them offline.

Did anyone else have to transition? Did you just do it and not get a lot of sleep?? I love sleep! lol. Also, how did you get them to do through the night? Should I stop the 10:00 feed at night and just see when they wake up? They eat at 7PM before that. Or should I do the 10 feed and just make them wait till 7AM? I mean they are both in the 12 lb range so they should be able to go the night right? Help! lol.
