sorry to drag up a topic that seems to have FLOWN by - but about FETs and the fear of having only one frozen...

I have 2 blasts frozen. Since I lost my twins at 22 weeks last year, we had been doing single embryo transfers. But since we had 4 frozen 3de from BEFORE the twin pregnancy frozen in PAIRS, we didn't know what we wanted to do with those. For our first FET, the dr recommended thawing a pair, growing to blast and transferring the better one. So that's what we did. I HATED it. I hated discarding an embryo that was still growing, but not good enough to re-freeze. I hated the days the embryos were growing in the lab and Ididn't know if EITHER would make it or I'd even get to trasnfer. So the second FET, we transferred both 3de.... both FETs were BFN.

So when we did fresh again this summer, we grew all our embryos to blasts. We transferred one (missed miscarriage at 8 week) and froze 2 - individually.

Now I want to transfer BOTH blasts. My doctor thinks I'm crazy to risk twins again. There are some major considerations. At this point (a year after losing my twins, 3 years TTC, 2 years of back-to-back-to-back IVF) I'm willing to risk twins over risking not getting pregnant. Also, one of my BIGGEST fears is to do an FET with 1 frostie and not have anything to transfer after defrosting.

I'm actually amazed that y'all are being allowed to transfer more than 2 embryos. Weird that I keep being told that I'm being extreme when transfer 2. Different culture I guess....

We have until transfer day to decide how many to transfer. We are both leaning towards 2, even though the dr is saying 1 (in the past, I've wanted 2 and both my husband and the dr pushed for 1. Now even my very conservative husband is saying 2).

Hopefully, we'll be getting this (exceedingly stressful!) show on the road soon. Tomorrow is my last dose of progesterone - COME ON AF! Hopefully I'll get my period Sunday or Monday and start my FET meds on CD1!

All of you going crazy in the 2ww or stimming parts - just remember how jealous us waiting are! Of course, y'all are in hell.... but there are several of us DYING to join you there!

annashope - I really really hope that's a realy BFP. I agree with Sonya - post pics! :D

leorira; Where are you from - you mentioned different cultures. In Canada they will only transfer one (MAYBE two) if you are under 35 years old. 35 - 40 they will transfer two (MAYBE three) and if you are over 40 they will transfer three or even four.

Young uteruses and eggs have a much higher chance of success. I know you'll make the right decision for you. Do you mind if I ask what happened to your twins? That's heartbreaking and I am so very sorry you had to endure it.

I understand the only having one to thaw out. That's my worry. I only have one frostie and I'm worried about it making it through thawing out but there's nothing I can do about it so I'm trying not to worry about it; however, I'm not doing real well with that. :-) I think I'll feel better after my appointment w/ RE on 11/24.

I know I've said it before, but I'm so sorry for the loss of your twins. I can only imagine how painful that must have been.

As for how many to transfer -- I think most clinics base it on age and quality of embryos. We transferred three (two grade Bs and one grade C; however, the doctor call them good, fair and poor in general terms) They were all a 5dt and none of them stuck so we ended up w/ a BFN.

Anyway, you have to what you think is best for you and your hubby. If you want to transfer two, then go for two.

I'm here! Just haven't had much time to post anything. We had the Marine Corps birthday ball last evening and today I had my ultrasound. The RE moved it from the 15th. :D I'm so glad I went today because we saw the little heartbeat!!!!!

It was beating away at a very rapid rate which the RE said was great! I'm now released to an OBGYN!

Of course, I still have some critical weeks left but I have hurdled some obstacles and I am truly blessed. I thank all of you for your support and love during this time.

How are you, Sonya?

Oh hon I am so happy that you got to see the heartbeat! You've moved into an entire new area of pregnancy and should be over the moon. :) What is your next step with the obgyn? Getting an appointment and just being normally old boring pregnant? Does that actually happen to people? LOL Big Hugs... hope that you keep us posted --- I want to keep in touch all the way through!

Freckles: Oh congratulations!! It is so nice to hear that you heard your little bean's heartbeat. :D That must have been such a wonderful sound. And you will be going on to an OBGYN...that is so amazingly fabulous! Keep checking in with us here and there! We'd love updates. :)

Jennie: CONGRATULATIONS on being PUPO today!!

Crystal: OMG! What a fabulous beta! Congratulations! Please take it easy and take extra special care of yourself.

Karian: Resting up and drinking your gatorade?! Take it easy....how are you feeling? Fert report come back?

Ester: Triggering tonight! Woohoo!!! 15 mature follies sounds great--sending hopes and prayers for good fert. report. Get ready!! Crazytown in around the corner, and you are already an "emotional wreck"?--I will be close behind ya.

Amanda: YIPEEE!! Excellent 3rd beta. Are you starting to relax now? Can we ever relax? Can't wait to hear when your u/s is scheduled.

ChelleDe: So glad the hysteroscopy went well.

Karin1: I'm doing the grow follies dance for your ED!

Ryann: Hope all goes well with your supression check tomorrow...I have everything crossed for you...

Karenthescorpio: Glad you are feeling less bloated, hope you are taking care of yourself and hoping for a fabulous fert report tomorrow. Rest up!

Rio: Sorry you are feeling so tired and outofit. :( Remember, it is all for a good-I mean-GREAT cause. Hang in there and take it easy. Your body is telling you to rest as your embibabies snuggle in.

Tammy: How are you holding up?

Osi: My friend. Let us know how your appt goes tomorrow and what you decide about your frosties and next steps.

Leorira: What decisions. Wow. Not one single piece of this process is easy, is it? I guess the fact that you live in a country (Israel) that has different rules, helps to limit some of your options, but still. No one can really "tell" you what to do. You and DH need to stand by what your experience, and gut, and heart tell you to do. Sounds like you are both feeling "2".

Krys: So glad to hear that you are back on track with a plan! AF can be so unpredictable during IVF. I just am having the WORST AF pains ever--and with IUI. I would never had expected it? I am wondering if it is from being on the Crinone? As this is my first cycle with that...who knows...but it is glad to hear that you are moving forward before the holidays!

Annashope: I am going to post this on both threads. LOL. I am soooooo happy that you are seeing a line!! This is it my friend….can’t wait to see a photo tomorrow..you gotta get a photo for us!! I can’t stop smiling with joy for you. I know things are early, but you have to make it to this step to make it any further.

AFM: Not much to report...stimming....going to acupuncturist tomorrow, sns on Monday and then hopefully trigger Tuesday or Wednesday--if things move as quickly as they did last cycle. Feeling bloated--leftover still from last month. SO sexy.

Baby dust to you all!!! Such good positive energy on this thread!!! I love it!

Hey great news on your FET!!! Your babies are most likely very happy to be warm and growing again. :) POAS is not an easy thing - you gotta be prepared for the downs if you want the possible ups... myself... I still pee on the occasional IC just for the sheer thrill of it. If you do want to POAS, it's always best to test out your trigger... I personally start testing on 7dpo - 9 days after the trigger. I know there's a chance my trigger will still be there, and it's very unlikely (impossible?) to get a bfp at 7dpo. so any line should be counted as trigger. Test the next day and see how that is - it's normally a stark BFN. After that, if the line comes back, you're pregnant, if it doesn't - you keep testing until your beta and don't take and bfn's too seriously as we all metabolize differently and you can't compare yourself to others, or even to other previous pregnancies.

Good luck, Jennie!!!! Congrats on being PUPO! :) :)

Hi all!!

LIke others have said, if you miss a day you're so far behind on this board.

Ryann - Hope you are fully suppressed and get the go ahead to start tomorrow. I know how frustrating the wait can be.

Klinger - awesome 3rd beta. I'm sure each great result makes it that much easier to enjoy your pregnancy

Sonya - thanks for the advice earlier. I try like crazy to keep my mind off things and stick to my hobbies, but it gets crazy overwhelming sometimes. Add to that, my control freak tendencies and my concentration goes out the window. I think its great that you have stuck around and helped so many people with their questions after you have your BFP

Jennieswa - congrats on being PUPO!!

Lauren - all of your symptoms are sounding good. Yay for the faint pink line!!

Crystal - congrats on the amazing beta!!! Definitely sounds like multiples.

Karian - WOW!! You must be exhausted! Get some rest and prayers for a great fert report.

Margi - glad to see that you are back. I hope you had a great time and had some time to enjoy yourself so that you are all rested and relaxd for your next cycle.

Rio - Im sorry that you are so tired, but hopefully its for a good reason!

Tammy - I hope that you are doing well

Ester - YAY twin!! Your numbers are fabulous!!! Thinking great thoughts for you for an easy, retrieval and awesome fertilization!!!

AFM - Trigger tonight and ER on Saturday at 8 AM. I have about 18 follicles - not sure how many of them are mature. I guess I will find out in a couple of days!!! I have never heard of the trigger beta/hpt test. Should I be asking for it?
