Hope everyone else is doing well. JB have a great time with your dh on his birthday.

Phantom of the Opera last night with my niece was really excellent. GP sorted me and dh out for blood group this morning and was suprisingly supportive of us - even though he was not my regular gp. So we will go to the hospital and try to get that done again tomorrow. He even said that they would do the scans if I needed them doing. AF is fully here but not too bad. Book on Egg Donations is very good. So all in all my mood is much better than a few weeks back.

Almost the weekend!

Lots of Love
Carolyn

Eggheads,

So much is going on!!!!!

BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO REBECCA!!!! I am so happy with the news it makes me tear up. You have some really high numbers. My fingers are crossed for twins.

Gill - THIS SUNDAY!!?? That was quick. That is a lot of stuff to get together in a hurry. You asked if that was all you should remember on your list - don't forget DH. I wish you the greatest of luck with the transfer. Lots of prayers for good sticky embies. Guess this is a silly question, but is Sunday the actual transfer or is that when they get the sperm to fertilize? Did you have sperm already there? Excuse my stupidity.

Anna - Happy Birthday!!!! Hope you have a wonderful and special day.

Jen1 - Wow - #10 You can't do better than that. Only one week! It will pass in no time. Hope you are still taking it easy.

Carolyn - great to hear you finally got your last book. I received 3 of the 4 books I ordered this last weekend. One of them was a mistake on my part, but has turned out to be pretty good. The title was "Helping the Stork: ?? Donor Insemination" It addresses donor sperm issues only. But I started reading and applied the issues to donor eggs and it has given DH and I some very serious thoughts and ideas to discuss. Seems that the issue of telling or not is more of an issue with sperm donation than egg donation. Men tend to have a much tougher time facing the issue of disclosure because of the male ego. That they are infertile, why they are infertile, etc. DH said that if the tables were turned he would have a much harder time with this than I am with the eggs. I read a bit from the "Hot Flashes, Warm Bottles" and it is going to be helpful to me with my age. Still have not received my 4th book yet. Couldn't get to it anyway.

BigJ - Sorry to hear your at the bottom of that roller coaster ride at the moment. It is great that you are looking foward. Big old hug from me. I think I cried more before I went under for my D&C than any other time.

JenB - you skinny thing you! Beautiful too!! I saw your pic on photobucket. Broc too!! Boy, is he a camera ham or what? Looks like he was posing just for your shot. Do you have to pay to put stuff on photobucket? How often will you have acu until ET? I've been giving it some thought. Sounds like AF is working just like it should for you. DH and I went to ER yesterday for paperwork, med orders, money (of course their not going to forget that), and they did another mapping along with the swabs (bacteria, yeast, etc.). Said it had been more than 6 mo. so I got to test out the stirrups. You would think that as much as we do this it would get less embarrassing, but not so much for me. Hurt a bit yesterday but ER said he would rather it hurt now instead of at ET. Expecting AF this coming Monday, but wondered after the probing yesterday if it wouldn't come early. This is a long weekend for those of us in the USA. Monday is Labor Day. Yeah, paid holiday. We will be traveling to DH's family in Illinois this weekend. Hope you had a pleasant day off today. Tell DH happy birthday!

Work has been a bear last week and this one. I had to work about 4 hours this last weekend. Not pleasant because I was having to fix a complete mess that our new clerk made. I tried to do as much as I could at home and broke down crying when I realized Saturday how bad it was.

Time for me to check out. Hello to all the rest of you eggheads!!

Love and hugs to all,
Kim

Hi to all you wonderful eggheads.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to introduce myself and then disappear again totally. Thanks for asking after me Jen. The past 2 weeks have been so busy with visitors over the weekend, more friends to stay since Monday and a hectic time at work trying to get my work done before my holiday. I’m exhausted and so looking forward to getting away from work and being able to concentrate on just us.

Our friends left yesterday, the first thing I do when I’m home is to turn on my notebook and see the Rebecca’s BFP!
Rebecca – that is simply fantastic news. And maybe it’ll be twins too! If I had more time and was better on the computer I’m sure I could come up with a wonderful flashy glittery message but I hope your fine with these => :) :D    I’m thrilled to bits for you. Not long now til your first scan.

Jen – congrats with the embie quality. Will be thinking about you over the next days… Take good care of yourself xxx

Gill – yeah, ET is so close – wishing you and DH all the very best and that all runs smoothly on your very important mission to Barcelona.

Hi Caroline – I just love your sparkly posts. Thanks for all the reports on the books too. I should have ordered some for my hols. Good luck with all your preparations and hope time goes by fast until your first flying visit to Barcelona.

Happy Birthday, Anna!!!! Hope you had lots of fun on your birthday night out with DH.

JenB – congratulations on starting treatment. So we can both celebrate, I’ve just started on meds too. I knew we’d end up cycling together. Sorry to hear about the course of antibiotics but I think you’re nearly finished, aren’t you? ..and glad the acu is doing you lots of good.

BigJ – Sorry that you’ve been having such a tough time. Hope you are doing Ok and can soon start focussing on your next treatment.

For Caroline, Anna and all those interested in why we chose the clinic in Poland, the main reason was a recommendation from our consultant here in Germany. The Doc who runs the clinic is very hard-working, dedicated and really “fights” for each pregnancy. After reading some reports and getting all our remaining questions answered at the first visit, we’re even more confident about our choice. The clinic has a very good reputation for treating male factor problems so the donors are young women who are going though ICSI and agree to donate some eggs at ER. So it’s all a bit different to Barcelona or donor egg treatment in the US.

Glad to hear everyone is enjoying the acu. I’ve got 2 appointments per week sorted for when I’m back from holiday. By the way, has anyone heard of drinking raspberry leaf tea to help the lining develop?. I read about it on a German web site and have been trying it over the last week or 2. Tastes a lot better than the Chinese herbal stuff. On the packet it says it’s recommended for pregnant women just before giving birth.

On Tuesday we got our final go-ahead from the clinic to start on the meds(yesterday). AF should arrive in about 10 days and then I’ll be on the transfer cycle. I’ve got a big box of meds to take away with us. We’ve rented a little house on the north coast of Germany for some serious relaxing before the real stressful time prior to ET begins….

I’ve got the day off work today and just had to post here first. Must get a move-on with the packing now though, else we won’t be leaving tomorrow at this rate.

I’m not so happy about being away from the boards again for the next 10 days or so (!!!!) cos it’s my lifeline, especially with me coming up to the final run, and I’ll probably miss the next BFP (JEN!!!). Will be thinking of you all lots and lots, and looking forward to catching up with you again around 15th Sept.

Sorry to all the people I’ve missed. There’s so much going on and so much to catch up on. Love to everyone and lots of luck.

Sonia

:lol:Hi

Just a quick one

Feeling ok so far. Not feeling much except a bit of af feelings this morning. I keep thinking about the last 2-3 days, which would have been implantation time but i have had no cramping and no spotting :?: :?: Just getting a few little tingles above the bikini line.
I'm sure there are lots of girls who get bfp's and dont feel a thing and others who get every symptom going so i'm still trying to be positive. Am i right :?:

Love to you all and thanks for you kind wishes

Rebecca, how old was your donor? Did you get 2 embies put in or 3? It didn't say how many on our list. A friend of mine in Tennessee (who is 45) went with egg donor last fall. They implanted two and she has beautiful twins. When DH & I went to ER Wednesday we signed paperwork that stated we understood that we had a 50% chance of twins and a 15% chance of triplets. I asked why such a high percentage, and the nurse told us that these statistics were based on the age of our donor. Sorry to ramble on, I am just so tickled for you. Hope you are still on cloud nine. Hugs,
Kim

Hi Jen

That is so out of control. I just p***** myself laughing at my desk at a client when I sneaked a look at your last post!

Love it. Hope that it is distracting you & giving you as much fun as me.

This must be the most out of control thread on these boards

Hope that you all have a really good weekend. We got blown out my friends this evening so dh and I will get the supermarket shop out of the way and then thinking of seeing the Bourne film. Will see tomorrow if not this evening.
Love
Carolyn

Kim - those odds are so amazing. Certainly beats the low/zero % chances with our own eggs. You must have a really youthful donor! Are you planning on having 2 or 3 back? You must be getting so excited

Carolyn, First of all I envy your graphics and the total blast you guys are having with that stuff. I am on my company's server, so if a graphic has to be downloaded, I can't use it. I can only copy url code. Yes, my donor is 24. It is getting closer and I am really getting excited. I am shooting for 3 embies back. No more. My ER is very aggressive and I hope he doesn't suggest any more than that. If it were my own eggs, it wouldn't suprise me for him to suggest 6 if I had ever had that many. Oh Carolyn, I still grieve the loss of my own eggs. I visualize them now sitting in rocking chairs or wheel chairs with a throw over their laps. Image

Have a great day,
Kim
