Lostgirl- I'm so very sorry about your little bean. We understand the sadness, frustration and hurt. Know that we are thinking of you and are here if you need anything.xo

Babyblu- Please tell your friend I'm so sad to hear of her loss. I really do know how she feels. I don't recall or missed whether or not she had a vaginal cerclage. My point being, for her next pregnancy...if her doc is like most, he/she will want to throw on a vaginal cerclage around 12-14 weeks. This is a huge mistake. Please tell her that if they tell her she needs a cerclage (which Im sure they will and she does if she has IC) to pleeeeeeeease look into the transabdominal cerclage (TAC). For some irrational reason, most MFM's and OB's use this cerclage as a "last resort" (after a failed TVC) simply b/c it requires it being put on via the abdomin vs. vagina. It's like why settle for a hamburger when you can have a steak. I find this completely irresponsible and unethical. The most important factor in getting a TAC is the surgeon i.e. making sure it is put on properly. There aren't many surgeons who do them often or with high/nearly perfect success rates. I'm happy to answer any questions she might have when the time comes. Please just tell her for me...there is a cure for IC. It's called the TAC. Also, she can find a wealth of support and resource at a group I belong to called Abbyloopers. They have an official website, but also a yahoo group. The only requirement to join is having a loss to IC. This group saved me after losing my twins. And informed me about the TAC and that's how I found my awesome surgeon. I see newcomers weekly with nearly the same story as mine and/or hers. It's sad, but atleast there is an answer now to helping us achieve our dreams of having a healthy, term baby.

Lostgirl I am so sorry we went through the same thing last summer and its so unfair and sad.

babyblue tell your friend we are so sorry to hear about her loss but I agree with Keren (TAC) is the way to go.

Leora I must admit I am a bit jealous...lol DH and I have been on pelvic rest all these 16 weeks and while its for a great cause its really hard sometimes. I keep dreaming of when the baby is born and we can resume and it seems forever away
Try not to worry although I know it is easier said than done but you are right we have all been 5 weeks along at some point. My next cervix length check and ultrasound is this Thursday so I am hoping for awesome news for both of us.

Justlikehannah 4 more weeks sounds amazing you have made it so far girl!!! hang in there. Oh and can I just say you look amazing...did you gain weight anywhere but the belly

AFM My sister is due Thursday and of course my mom is away on business for 3 days so now I am constantly paranoid that she will go into labor before my mom is back...I think her husband and I can manage but my mom had helped deliver the babies of all her friends and I have only my personal experience so I am a bit nervous that I won't be enough for my sister

JustLikeHannah- Good news-they will let me go home today! I will return next Thursday for an induction. Due to my pre-eclampsia, there are few benefits and many risks to my staying pregnant much beyond 36 weeks, so next Thursday should be the day, assuming availability. My condition is mild and has stayed mild so far, so they see little reason to keep me here until the 17th. It will be nice to spend some time at home for a few days before coming back. I'll be on bedrest. I got the Strep B test today and my second of the two steroid shots to help their lungs develop. Had a growth scan yesterday and the boy is 4 lbs 14 oz and the girl is 5 lbs 7 oz. Although, I have heard that the weight measurements from these growth scans are not always accurate. Anyway, there is only a half pound difference.

Hello Lovely Preggos,

Karenthescorpio -- Awesome belly pic! You look sooooo adorable. I can't wait for my own belly. I think I'll start taking weekly sideview pics this weekend.

Justlikehannah-- Wow... I bet that 4D pic is amazing of your sons face. I'm sorry you were so uncomfortable on your back though. I'm glad to hear both babies are doing well.

LostGirl -- I'm so sorry. I do hope you will try again. I've been on these boards for a couple of years now and I've seen many blighted ovums and nearly all were followed up with a BFP and a baby. I pray your next cycle will end with a baby as well.

Leora -- I know... I can't wait until my little gummy bear looks more like a baby. Only two more days until your u/s! I'm excited for you.

baby_blu -- I'm so terribly sorry about your BFF's little sisters baby. My heart goes out to her.

Sonya -- Oh yeah... I have heard of the Vagina Monologues but haven't been to see. I think there is/was a prodution here in Chicago even. That's cool that you told the story of a Bosnian woman. One of my BFF's is Bosnian and fled in the early nineties during the war.

Reenie -- Hooray for going home! St Patty's Day babies must surely be lucky.

AFM -- Physically I feel good. Emotionally today is a tough one for me. It's the anniversary of my mother's passing. I've been thinking of her a lot today. I've also got my first OB appt tomorrow. I'm excited I've made it this far.

Lost~ I am so sorry, my heart feels heavy for you. Know that you will be in our hearts and prayers. Hang in there, honey.

Stephanie~ Your sisters friend is going through quite a storm...the emotions come at different times..I'm not sure what makes us so strong in the beginning, I think it's a defense mechanism. As far as the funeral arrangements...the hardest part is planning, but then being blind sided by the costs up front. Last year when we lost our son, I was sickened by how little they did, and how much they charge. We kept it simple, and I am thankful we did, but oh my what a horrible thing to have to go through. My heart hurts with hers. We are coming up on a year in just 4 weeks, and the emotional side of it is beginning to hit hard again, in a way I never imagined. It's a roller coaster, and there are no right words to help her, just hugs and a hand of friendship. Will say a prayer for her.

Lost...I'm so so sorry. Sending huge hugs your way.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in about the stroller. YesterdAy while waiting 2 hours for
my ob I started calling around. I found a store downtown Chicago that sells the easywalker duo, which is the $700 stroller that fits 2 carseats side by side. They sold me the floor model (perfect condition) for $300!!!! I am so excited. I got the stroller I wanted at a reasonable price!!!!Get to see my little buggers in 3d tonight! Let's hope they are still Ethan and Isabelle!

Just for fun!

Try the Chinese Gender Predictor and let's see how many are right. This particular one converts your age and date of conception to the Chinese Lunar Calendar which is required to use the chart. If you already know your childs gender, I'm dying to know if this is right.

Try it and post your results, I'll see if I can make a list and see how accurate it is. Maybe there's something to it if it's much more than 50% right! I guess it will be right for those of you having B/G twins anyway... haha.

For me, it says GIRL But I clearly won't know if that is right for a while. I did try it for my last pregnancy which ended in m/c and it said BOY, which is correct because I had genetic testing done on the fetus.

Lou - Apparently, I'm 27 (huh?) and conceived in June (again, huh?) -- and I'm having a girl. I hope it's right! I kinda have a slight girl preference. David has a slight boy preference. A few years, we would talk about which we wanted, and now the focus is EITHER, as long as s/he is here!

funny story - with my twins (our first IVF, and our first BFP ever) - we went for an u/s at 5.5 weeks (when we found it was twins). DH asked the technician if it was boys or girls or boy/girl --- in his mind - an u/s was for determining sex of the baby! :D Now he knows a little better!
8 IVF+6 FET=6 BFN+8 BFP =

-b/g twins 22w (12.09)
-mc 10w (9.10)
-Micha (7.19-24.11) & Asaf (7.19-28.11) born at 24w
-mc 5wk (2.12)
-no HB at 18w (10.12)
-BO (4.13)-
-mc 6wk (9.13)

last attempt - donor sperm - baby girl born healthy July 2014

Hi Lou - I checked the Chinese Gender Prediction when I first found out I was pregnant and it did say girl so that was correct for me. My SIL tried the needle on the string thing at Christmas and the results from that (boy) were wrong. I'll always wonder though what the twin that didn't progress would have been.

Lou, it said girl for me, which is right, but after entering in dates twice, it said I was 28 & conceived in February (wrong!). When I looked at my actual info on the chart (25 & conceived in September) it was a boy.
