Bodie - how did I not see that you also did PGD? I am expecting the same rate of normal embies, 50% of those they test. A week is great turnaround! They have been telling me 2-4 weeks. Do you know if it was partial or full chromosomal testing that was done? I know my clinic has to send the cells to Reproductive Associates in New Jersey to be biopsied. I see you are in NJ so maybe that helped your turnaround time if it's the same type of testing. Once you get released to your OB it should hopefully be smooth sailing!

Ninde - had no idea of the huge limitations you have on adoption there in Ireland. How very frustrating.

Neffi - we could be doing our FETs around the same time. Boy, do I hear you on the medical debt. But you know what? In a couple of years you will have your sweet little one and your debt will be diminished or gone. So very worth it.

Sunshine - look at it this way. If it's a BFN you'll be at work instead of having it ruin a day off. But....we are pushing for a BFP! I miss my grandmother every day. She was special in so many ways.

Blessed - if I said months I meant weeks. 6dp5dt is still VERY early so keep your chin up!

Maria - so glad you have a date set for your procedures. LOVE the wedding pics - so grand!

Blue - your eyes are blue indeed! Love the red as a nod to his Chinese traditions.

Leora - so, so sorry to hear about the continued disconnect with your father. I just can't believe he didn't contact you after losing your boys. I have a very slender connection to my father as well. He and my mother didn't marry when she got pregnant - in fact my mother broke up with him before I was born. The rest of my father's family didn't even know I existed until I was 13 years old. He has made occasional and often feeble attempts to connect over the years. I have thankfullty built a solid relationship with his mother (she passed last year) and sister and her kids though, and when I do occasionally speak to him he is very loving. I think peope say you are crazy because they know you - from the little I can tell of you here so far, you will NOT repeat that mistake of your father's. I LOVE your story about dating your DH at 17. Lucky you were such a poor college student eh?

Gina - sorry to hear about your DH. Back issues are really the worst.

Jayne - OMGosh what a handsome family! I didn't realize your DH was Indian. An adopted Indian daughter will just fit right in then!

Rosie - What a great argument for a 5dt! If you had transferred the 2 best on day 3 I bet you would be looking at a BFN, and possibly losing additional during the freeze/thaw for FET. Hope they can freeze that morula too!

SamanthaRae - I'm with Hope, that sounds like a late beta.

JenMink - yippee on the beta, boo on the wait! Bring on the pregnancy symptoms!

Blessed - I know that commercial. I think they definitely targeted hormonal women! I hoping your BFP comes soon.

We - good luck with the tests. I've been though the gamut of those and it can be unpleasant, but I hope you get some answers. What a beautiful place you got married in.

JenMink - YAY!! That is such a long wait, ugh!! I feel so lucky my FE does U/S every week after the beta.

Kerpuppies - I actually go to RMA of New Jersey - that is where my RE is out of. Maybe that does help with the turnaround time - no travel time. I'm pretty sure it was full chromosome testing that was done. I don't think they gave me any option though. I did PGD on my last 4 E/R and ended up with 3 frostys, 2 of which were transferred last month Can't wait to hear your results!

Leora - will be thinking about you tomorrow and hoping it goes your way!

AFM - thank you all for the well wishes Oh, and I told my mom today. Was agonizing and kind of wanting to wait until the next u/s but thought she would not be happy that I waited so long. Tough call!

AFM-Not much to report. Going back to RE's office for pre-op labs on Monday and then procedure on the 18th. Started BCP last night, hate it but what can I do. I always find it so ridiculous that we are all trying to get pregnant yet we have to on BCP. Had another Math tutoring session tonight. Feeling better about the whole Algebra thing. I think that I will be ready to take the Math CPT exam sometime next week. Meeting with the advisor next week to pick my classes. I am nervous yet excited which is a really good feeling to have. Other than that, working a lot. I have some clinical audits coming up so trying to prepare for those. Spending lots of time with DH and the kids which is really nice. Trying a new medicine tonight for my migraines. Hoping that this new medicine will work better.

I know that I have left some friends out and I am sorry. Trying to get into the swing of doing personals.

Quick update... Only 4 of the 8 eggs fertilized, so that means transfer on Friday. I don't know what to think! We were really hoping for some to freeze this time, as this is our last chance. I know it only takes one, but it is so hard to be hopeful right now. I am so thankful for you ladies!

Well, 4th beta test tomorrow morning. My last doubling time was 68 hours. Hoping for at least the same this time. I calculated it out and if this beta comes out over 1400 I think it should be fine. Opinions girls?

Gina, I wil pray for your husband, hope you don't mind me asking but why does he have to wait so long and go back in a year, but your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Michael's mom called tonight and they had a very lenghty 2 hour conversation and he told her we are planning on coming back up to AL sometime in December before Christmas.

Hope, this sounds like alot of betas going on with you, the numbers are strong, but also wondering how far along you are, when do you think an ultrasound will be scheduled to measure? I am certainly praying for you and cannot wait to hear more updates!

Ninde, Nevertheless I was glad you had this encounter with her, you need to be able to express your emotions too and I know it's so hard at times to be able to do that because you try to keep your focus on the patients' needs in advocate care. My husband felt a connection at work too when all his colleagues found out we m/c. They came up to him sharing with my dh their own personal stories, by the end of the day he felt it was good for him that he was able to talk to others about what he was going through. He needed someone who understood what we were going through and it made me feel good he had his friend's support. God has a way of bringing us together. xoxo

blessed, I know the feeling, I still haven't tested yet my BETA is tomorrow and thankfully I'm off. Annabelle will be coming over that afternoon and you have no idea how much I've missed her! She will certainly bring aray of sunshine to my emotional day tomorrow. Today I had a very productive day at work and it really flew by, any distraction to me is always good. I learned a long time ago not to get too wrapped up in anticipation, because time can only tell. Having a back-up plan always helps too.

Julia~ Oh my. Thinking of you. Loved your dream about the sheets. The progesterone does give you some crazy dreams, huh? Me too. And as far as the anesthesia, I was convinced that I was gardening my backyard when I woke up. And the nurse said no. So I was like... you mean to tell me no one weeded? and she said... yes. I followed by saying "damn". See... I was crazy too.

Gina~ sorry about your husband's results. Back pain is the worst. Thinking of you both.

Ninde~ I did acupunture with my first IVF cycle and not with my second. I find all of the appts so hard to manage. Maybe I will try to do it again.

kerpupples~ I am so happy that you were selected to wait for your transfer. Sounds like it could have been bad OHSS if you would have been pregnant right away. OHSS is no fun. Been there, done that. I honestly could not walk 10 feet without feeling short of breath. It is such a bad feeling. Oh my... 16 blasts. What a great report. Rest up. You may have some great blasts to transfer really soon.

Bodie~ I'm confused. Why was your call to your mom hard? I may have missed something.

Maria~ I'm so sorry about having to start the BCP. They always give me headaches and I know what a problem you're already having problems with migraines. I hope it is OK for you. Glad to hear the math is turning around for you. It's so hard to get back into the school groove.

Kiminish~ Trust me... I know what you mean about the freezing. I've never had anything to freeze and it always makes me discouraged. Hang in there.

Leora~if you don't mind me asking... how much did your boys weigh? Loved the story about meeting your husband. I find your stories funny about your upbringing. I grew up in Utah (not mormon) but I know more than most people about that religion. Religion is such a funny thing.

AFM~~ bad news. The beta was negative. I knew it in my heart so I was OK when the clinic called. I'm actually relieved that I'm not in beta hell like I was with my last cycle and I'm relieved that I don't have to take all of the hormones tonight. It has been a long process for us so I'm always relieved to be hormone free. I'm not sure what our future holds. We meet with the doctor on Tuesday. I feel sad. Life seems unfair. However, I'm actually OK at the moment. I'm truthfully distracted with the adoption from India idea. I feel like there is a girl waiting for me to come and get her. Crazy... I know. So for now, I will start that process. And I may eventually do the last IVF cycle that we paid for. They are all big decisions that will take time to figure out. In the meanwhile, I plan to go to the Charger's game tomorrow night, drink a beer and be grateful for my DS and DH. They are so great.

AFM, AF is finally here. Wow it's been so long I forgot what it felt like. Anyway, assuming everything goes well on my baseline appnt on Friday , my calendar has me retrieving the week of my 40th birthday and transferring back the week before Xmas. Woohoo. I am only going to be on BCPs for 1 week then Lupron right away for 2 weeks, then stims right after period shows up. We are planning on fresh transfer but if things don't go well we will freeze all.

Anyway, I am excited to get going again. And especially now when my schedule is relatively light.
