Sara – Oh, I am sorry that you are having such a difficult time right now. But, I am confident that even if they take them at 35 weeks they will be fine. My high risk OB says as long as they are pass 32 weeks they are usually fine. Most babies born at 35 weeks don’t even have to go to the NICU and even if they do it will be a very, very short time. So no worries ok? You are so close right now, just try to think positive thoughts because your babies will be just fine!

Franca – Enjoy your fun time with your DH. Just make sure you aren’t experiencing too many contractions afterwards. Yes, there are several times throughout the day when I don’t feel her moving because she could be sleep or just resting. All of us feel that at one point or another. But, you are still too early to feel her constantly anyway. I remember at 22 weeks that her kicks and punches were still not too strong. Of course, now it feels like she is trying to play soccer with my bladder … lol. It might be helpful to purchase yourself a fetal heart Doppler on-line or in the store so when you are worrying that something is wrong you can use the Doppler to reassure yourself. They aren’t too expensive either but can be a life saver for sure.

Katie – I have to agree with everyone else. You will be just fine during your delivery. I will agree that it is scary but I know that you are a strong woman and will make it through just fine! I had so much anxiety before I delivered Ashley but I made it through and you will too. Just keep thinking of the first exciting moment when you will finally meet Savannah and it will all be worth it.

Ronda – I know exactly how you feel. I remember when I returned back to work after every miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and the loss of Ashley so late in my pregnancy, having to explain time and time again what happened to my baby. The first time I thought I would just die and I started crying right in front of them, which made them feel like crap. But, it honestly does get better … I promise you. I think eventually it helped me mentally to talk about her because it kept her memory alive. Believe it or not I talk about her more during this pregnancy then I ever did because the first question everyone has is, is this your first baby. At first, I didn’t know how to answer them but I thought Ashley is still part of my family so I just tell them that I lost her last year at 21 weeks and that Gabriella is a true blessing for us. I think about you often and I am sorry that you are going through such a tough time but we are always here for you!

Gi – I am going to try to work up until I delivery if possible because that will give me more time with Gabriella after she is born. I get 6 weeks for a vaginal delivery and 8 weeks for a C-section and I also have 4 weeks’ vacation from work that is paid. I can take an additional 6 weeks unpaid if it is absolutely necessary but I will only use those if it is medical necessary like I am put on bed rest, etc.

Stephanie – I am eagerly awaiting the beautiful pictures. I hope you were able to go home today…

AFM – It’s Friday!!!! I was going to stay home for the day but then I realized it is the 15th and my mortgage is due today so since I had to get dressed I went to work only for a few hours only and now I am back at home resting. I got to see my DH and I brought him lunch which was nice before I came home and now I am just going to sit back and relax just like you ladies suggested!

Steph - I cant wait to hear how and those two precious babies are doing! I hope that you made it home and are resting and healing. just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you and Andrew and Alex, Ethan & Angelina too! much love twin mama - xoxoxo

Angela - Yippee for passing your GTT with flying colors! Its good that you'll almost a 3 day weekend to relax and rest up, Now go relax - Gabriella said to hit the couch, mom! haha

Babyluv - I hope that your u/s went well today. I'm glad my oblong belly pic made you laugh, it makes me laugh everytime I see it. I think its crazy looking and makes me wonder if she'll look like Stewie fron Family Guy - hee hee. Yay for a hair appt, can you believe how fast your hair grows while pregnant? its out of control, and nails too. I was telling Chris about your maybe Halloween costume and he thinks its a riot too! How are you feeling? -xopxo

Claudia - How are you busy girl? Oh it would be great if you could go to part time when Flick arrives, I hope that your pay wont be cut too much and that you can take advantage of their offer. I have a feeling that once these babies are all here, we arent going to want them out of our sight for a moment. I had that lopsided look a few weeks ago, she was totally on my right side - it looked ridiculous! Dont stress your GBS ( group b Strep) its just a vag/ rectal swab and they said that 30% of women carry it, all it means is that they'll run IV antibiotics while you're delivering. I got my neg results in a week, but make sure you get your results so just in case you dont need an IV for hydration, you wont have one cause they werent sure of your results. They have told me my results like 3 times already, so I guess they expect we wont remember them? jeez! How are you feeling? - xoxo

Hope - its been a long time honey, how are you ? i'm glad to hear that they've labled you boring as well. I was boring til last month , but then needed BP meds, now I'm back to boring also, but thats fine by me. UGh, the name game is so difficult when your DH vetos almost your whole list - it happened to me too, I'm glad we finally agreed on a name, but now I'm wondering about back up names, just in case she doent "look" like a Savannah. - Fun, yes? Whats on your short list for names? You're super close too - how are you feeling?

Sara - Oh honey, I'm crossed that your Peri gives you good news on the babies weights today. As Angela said 35 weeks shouldnt be a problem for them at all. I cannot believe you got this far working on your feet all day with 23 students to look out for! Bravo twin mama! I'll keep checking in to hear what your peri had to say today - wishing you great numbers!

Ronda - Thank you my friend. It means alot that you check in on us, even though it must be hard sometimes. I'm sorry that your dentist's receptionist sent you reeling with one careless comment. It happens, sometimes people just dont think before they speak. And, well some people are just completely clueless sometimes too. How are you doing? Are you back to riding your horses? I hope that you're doing well and dont you have a vacation coming up soon? I do hope that you never close the door entirely on your dream, because you just never know what the future holds. A year ago I was getting over another BFN after attempt #5, gearing up for #6 and had no hope that it would work, and it didnt. I never expected in a thousand years that my RE would come up with a solution, and if I remember s correctly your RE is super caring also, and theres not too many like that. Much love to you - xoxoxo

Gi - Aw honey, i'm sorry that today is a sad day for you both. I think that littlle Kayla will put a smile on your face before the day is through, by kicking you and letting you know that she'll be in your arms soon! Ack, hope your cold clears up, the waether here changed too, last night it was 40 degrees!
And, umm, about the stinky and snoring pups? Yeah, i've got that too + Gracie drools on everything! now theres some fun cleaning - ugh. - xoxo

Franca - its totally normal that you might not feel kicking or movement every day - and especially as early as you are. They do sleep alot also - up to 18 hrs per day - so dont worry, when you're a little farther along, you'll be getting those big kicks that make you wonder if you're growing a gymnast in there.

AFM - I'm not up to much today, just waddling around slowly. I have had 3 reflux free nights though! I still have killer heartburn, but as long as it stays in my stomach, I'll consider it a good night. No signs whatsoever that Savannah is coming anytime soon. And other than having to do EVERYTHING really slowly, i feel pretty good. Oh, heres some weird thing - Gracie just loves the squeaky toys, and the noisier that better, of course, so she was squeaking one right on top of me practically and my belly went nuts! Savannah was like a hummingbird in there jumping all over, I guess she likes the noisy toys too? Oh boy wont that be fun? I've been trying to cook some easy dinners to freeze so when we're totally sleep deprived dinner wont be an issue, but whew! I've been in the kitchen all day and made bolognese sauce, mac & cheese, and shredded bbq chicken, and now that I've been around food all day - I have no appetite? How did that happen? All I want is to go sit down and veg on the couch - so thats where I'm off to. hugs & prayers to us all - xoxoxo

Sara - I agree with everyone else...35 weeks is great for twins, the average actually. Totally sucks that they would have to take them because of pre-e, but I too think you've done awesome and working this long? Amazing. The babies will do awesome. How was your peri appt today?

Katie - Tomorrow is 39 weeks! It's crazy because a few weeks ago it seemed like it was a race between Steph and Hazel (with Hazel winning) and now between you and Sara. I think we're all rooting for your little Savannah to come first, but they could all be pretty close!

Angela - YAY for passing your GTT! I had no doubt you would...most women do, especially being so close with the one hour. Glad you are taking it easy today. I DID get all of Darren's stuff done which I am thankful for!

Claudia - Part-time sounds awesome! I know so many women who would love that. Hopefully you can get it worked out and DH can get his new job/promotion to even things out.

Hope - Wow, another mama almost there! Can't wait to hear about your little one!

Rhonda - It's really great to hear from you. Hope you are doing well.

Gi - Ok, looking at your age and how long you've been together, it now makes total sense that it wouldn't be a wedding anniversary!! lol. Glad Kayla is helping you through today.

AFM - U/S went well today (and my NST was boring as usual which I'll take). Amelia has finally surpassed Juliette in weight by an entire oz. She's been smaller since 11 weeks or so, but now she's measuring 4lbs6oz and Juliette is at 4lbs5oz. I know the measurements can be off, but I'm hoping if they are then they are actually bigger than that not smaller! At any rate, they are measuring perfectly. Looks like a lot of hair and they are practicing their "breathing" in there. Juliette is still breech and there is just no way she'll flip. I asked the dr if he had any concerns and he said only if I was going to attempt a vaginal...then he would be concerned about Juliette being breech. Since I"m not, then there are no concerns for him. We made my next u/s for three weeks from now. His comment was "if you make it that far." It's funny because my OB and midwife think I'll be able to make it another 4 weeks, the people at maternal/fetal aren't as convinced. Ah well, we'll have to see! Either way, at least I know it will be a c section.

And just for fun, here are a few pics from the pumpkin patch. Couldn't resist because my kids are so darn cute (not that I'm biased).

Katie-So please tell me how it feels to skip the acid reflux for a few nights?! I am patiently waiting for that! The heartburn and acid constantly coming up make it hard for me to eat-agh! The food you are making sounds so good-I am eating hospital food and I KNOW it is not as delicious as your food. That is a great plan because it really isn't one of those things you want to do when you're sleep deprived and just enjoying baby time. 39 weeks today?-WOOHOO!!!

Angela-Are you enjoying the 3 day weekend? I always love when I have the freedom to eat lunch with DH and just kick back for a while. I can only imagine how hard it is when someone asks if this is your first child but you are so strong and Ashley will forever be a part of your family. You and all the ladies that experienced that loss encourage and support others through sharing, even when you don't know it.

Babyluv-Glad to hear the NST and u/s went well. Your children are so adorable!! I love the pumpkin patch pictures-they look like they just loved it. Did you get pumpkins to paint or carve? Fun times-we always like to play around in the goo together-my daughter pretends she is making soup ;)

AFM-Well, at my perinatologist visit he said the babies were both about 4lbs10oz. Their abdomens both measured small-in the 9th percentile. My BP was 158/102 so I was immediately admitted to the hospital. I bawled like a baby-just so stressed out and overwhelmed, which I'm sure did wonders for my BP  I get to chill out here, do lots of testing/monitoring and wait until they feel they have to take the babies. They are still hoping I can making it to 36 weeks-which would be 8-14 days. I am so bored but thankful I am under a close watch. I told my peri, that I was scared because the babies were so small-he told me that they were great and small is okay because they come out like marathon runners ready to fight. If they were "big babies" they would be too comfy and not able to work so hard. Whatever that means (the guy is very interesting to say the least  ) I have to remember that everything will be okay and that this is very temporary. Thank God I have a great DH to take care of my DD and keep everyone sane! I just love him to pieces

Take care all!

This week has been soooooooo busy so here goes trying to catch up. LOL

Steph- Congrats honey!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see pics. I'm so happy they didn't have to spend time in NICU. Actually have I already posted a congrats???? I can't remember.

Katie- I think your belly is beautiful! Savannah is just being all comfy and ready to make her appearance. MMMM squeeky toys? Ick! LOL I didn't register for any noisy toys however I have bought MANY noisy toys in the past for friends and family so I have a feeling it is going to be like payback time for me. And what is up with kids loving the loudest toys best???

Sara- OH NO about the pre-e but I'm happy you are where you are in your pregnancy. I understand how worried you are since my protein just went up on my last visit too. You and the babies are going to be wonderful!!!!!!!!! I have complete faith that everything will be fine.
EEEKKKK we were posting at the same time!!!!! I'm sorry you got admitted to the hospital but for piece of mind at least you will have constant monitoring. We'll help keep YOU sane! :) Big hugs momma. You are almost there!

Angela- Yeah for passing your glucose test. I'm sorry you felt sick.

Franca- Earthshattering??? Yeah can't say I have...at least not lately. LOL Although they are better pregnant. Something about all the blood flow down there. Woo HOO! ;)

Babyluv- Your kids are soooooooooooo cute! I can't wait until I have my own pumpkin patch pics. Fall is my favorite time of year. That's why we got married in October! Actually my house is mostly fall/warm colors. LOL

Gi- Sorry about your cold. I had a bit of one a few weeks ago too. My condolences for a sad one year anniversary of the loss of your baby but I'm happy Kayla is moving around a lot.
And ICK for dog farts! They are the worst!!! I used to have a dog that would fart. It was so loud that when it happened she would turn around a look at her butt like...where did that come from???? It was so funny!

AFM- Thanks for the concern about the protein elevation. I guess they aren't monitoring me closer because it wasn't that high of an elevation???? That's just my guess. I guess I will discuss it with the peri when I go in on the 27th.
I had a major milestone this week...for me. Yesterday I went to the mall and I bought our daughter her first dress. If she's big enough it's what we will bring her home from the hospital in. I got so emotional buying her this cute tiny dress that I started crying. LOL Also I found her crib sheet at Pottery Barn Kids. It was on my registry but online it says that it is on back order until Jan 15. Um yeah...that's just cutting it a bit too close. So I bought her crib sheet. :) It's the "Hailey" design on the PBK web site.
That's pretty much it for me. Just busy week getting ready for the shower next weekend. Also taking care of my mom. She fell this week and could not get up so she called crying and we had to go over there at midnight to help her. She refuses going to the Dr and I will never put her into a nursing home since we can't afford private care. I'm really kind of at my wits end. Not sure what to do.
Anyhow...I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. XOXO

Babyluv your kids are absolutly gorgous!!!! Gonna be heartbreakers when they are older. Ha had to laugh when you thought j and I were married at such young ages acually we were due to get married 22nd Dec this yr but thankfully decided on a 7th ivf!!!!! Someday we will get married but its not important suffering from infertility makes you realise whats really important in life doesnt it.

Ray you are in the safest place poss now even if it means been a little bored. Your little ones sound great weights but hopefully will cook for just a little longer.

Angela i really have pregnancy brain cause looking at your answer to my question i realised i asked you that before!!! Katie – 7 more days left whoo hoo! I am so excited for you! I am still suffering from terrible heart burn it seems like 24 hours a day. And, yes it wakes me up often. I had acid reflux before I was pregnant so now it is ten times worse now. So Savannah likes the squeaky toys huh? You will have a great time with that I think.

Babyluv – I have to agree with the other ladies that boring is good sometimes. I am glad the babies are growing, growing, growing! So the staff thinks another 3 or 4 weeks … it will be interesting to see when they will arrive.

Sara – Thank you so much for the kind words!

I am actually glad that you are in the hospital as you have all of the care surrounding you that you and the babies need. I know it is not as comfortable as your own home but it’s necessary. Yeah for your DH taking charge and keeping everyone sane! I think times like this are when we really appreciate our spouses for being there for us.

PA_FA – That is so exciting that you bought your daughter’s first dress! I know how you feel … when I bought the first baby item for my daughter I cried also. Well, that was after I felt completely terrified…

I am so sorry about your mom falling. It sounds very similar to what we are going through regarding my grandmother right now. She has fallen several times of the last few years and now getting to the point where she is having a memory problem but she refuses to go to a nursing home. But, now it is becoming life threatening for her and we have to make a decision pretty soon regarding her living arrangements. What about checking into assisted living places where you live for your mom? She would have her own apartment but with 24 hour nurses available in case she gets into trouble. I just worry about her when both you and your DH are gone for work and she needs someone’s help. I have worked in several areas of healthcare as a nurse, which includes assisted living places and some of them are so very nice. They also have planned activities and someone there to cook her food for her as well as company from other people who live in the same building. It is just a thought…

GI – I agree … I wish we had longer maternity leave available but I should be happy because several companies do not provide paid leave at all and the mommy needs to take their leave unpaid. So at least I will have 10 or 11 weeks paid and could take an additional 6 weeks if I want it. After 12 weeks, my job can be posted to be filled by someone else. On occasion, with the approval from your manager, they will extend it longer than the 12 weeks.

AFM – Well, I have been lounging all morning but eventually I have to go to my storage unit and have my DH pack the boxes up that I want to throw away because I want all of my work stuff out of the house when Gabriella arrives. I hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Angela - Glad to hear you are taking it easy today! I was actually thinking about you this morning and hoping you were sleeping in :D

PA - I LOVE that feeling of buying the very first outfit. I remember when I bought one for Alex. It was a 2T because I wasn't sure how old he would be, but I couldn't resist. The funny thing it, I think he wore it like one time! By the time he fit into it, I didn't like it anymore :P Now I know what clothes I like for the kiddos!

Sara - AHHH!!! I am so, so sorry about being the hospital! I've heard the same thing about small babies. Yours sound like they are actually growing well, just a little small in the abdomen. My friend was told the same thing about her daughter, and she was absolutely perfect. They will do awesome. I am more concerned about your BP, but you are being monitored and soon won't have to worry about it. I totally hear you on having a great DH. I don't know what I'd do without mine.

AFM - Thanks for the compliments on my kiddos. They are awesome kids (except when they're not  ). Last night I was pushing on Juliette because she was sticking her knee out, so I had DH feel it. He was a little freaked out! HA, it's so funny because I'm so used to it, but I guess he's only ever felt kicks or rolls, not actual body parts. Good times. :D

Hello mamas!

I have been trying to catch up, but I admit I have been bad at it. Thank you everyone for the congrats! I am going to attempt personals and my update.

Pa - Sorry about your mom. I hope you can come up with a solution that is best for everyone. As for you crying about the dress, how cute! I think we all have those moments. At least they are happy tears. :) Thanks for the congrats. Not sure if you did congratulate me earlier or not, it has been hard to keep up. lol

Sara - So sorry you had to be admitted! You are in the best care there though and so are babies! I have heard about the smaller babies being better fighters than bigger babies. It's kind of like putting two adults to run a marathon, one is thinner and the other is heavier. The thinner one will go farther faster where the heavier one will give up a lot sooner. I also was told that stress releases a hormone that actually helps the baby develope faster so it's like they are already preparing for a marahon before it begins. :) No worries, everyone will be fine, you will see! I am glad you have a great DH to help keep you sane.

Babyluv - Glad your appt went well and babies are measuring on track. What was funny in my case was that Ethan was head down, during surgery he moved to transverse, then came out butt first. Did you get anything scheduled for your surgery yet? It is nice to have a date to look forward to. How are you feeling about the surgery? I hope you have a better experience than me. I suggest not waiting until the following day to walk! Get up the same day because the meds will help! lol That's my advice. :) Your kids are simply gorgeous! I love your pictures.

Katie - So Savannah is quite content huh? Soon enough you will be on the congratulation side! Now we are all waiting for you! I am glad that your reflux has been better. It is nice to not have any issues with that. It was immediately cured after delivery. It was horrible just before too, so glad that's gone. Not too much longer, omg, can you believe it? Are you ready for this? Any day now. I think Savannah and Gracie will get along just fine if she likes her noisy toys. Any clue on how to keep Gracie away from chewing on Savannah's toys and Savannah away from chewing on Gracie's toys? How can you be in the kitchen cooking all day and have no appetite? You are carrying a full term baby in that belly of yours. lol Love the belly pic by the way. I read that the bellies get oblong towards the end. Mine was too but then the last week or two I was lop sided. They liked my left side so I had a lot of baby on one side of me, well at least their tooshies. :)

Gi - Forgetting your anniversary, priceless! lol I keep track sometimes of how long Andrew and I have been together. We don't really celebrate though. I am glad that Kayla overrides your sadness. They do say that everything happens for a reason and although we may never understand it, there are always things that come to show us that we wouldn't have this miracle if we hadn't lost the other one. Then it becomes a little clear. Your dogs farting though made me laugh. Great transition from one sentence to another! Reminds me of Andrew passing gas while he was sleeping in the hospital and the nurses would come in in the morning and ask about me taking a shower when I had just had one. I think they smelled the stank and assumed it was me.

Angela - My scrolling doesn't go back far enough to give me a good update on you. I am glad you are enjoying the weekend though. How are you feeling lately? I hope you have found some energy and Gabriella's room is looking more and more complete.

Karen - I am so happy that you are going through this cycle. I have nothing but high hopes and baby dust for you! You have a bionic cervix now and nothing standing in your way. This is it for you, nothing but success!

Ronda, Lou, Tammy, Carolyn - Thank you all for stopping in with your kind words! You are all awesome.

AFM - Twins are a handful but honestly, it is better than I thought it would be. We did all come home yesterday by about 4pm. The first night went great. Andrew has been doing so well at getting up and helping. The only bad thing is that before we left the hospital we had to feed them formula because they just weren't eating enough from me. They were pooping and peeing ok, but not latching on long enough to make the nurses happy. (It was like my boob made them sleepy, they just wouldn't eat.) So when I got home I tried to pump and the pump tore up my nipples and areolas. The skin was (is) peeled off. So that made us have to go out and get formula. They are doing great with it and sleep longer and better. I know at least that they are eating well. We go for a two day check up tomorrow so I will ask how I can heal and get back in the game on the breastfeeding and pumping. Andrew likes being able to feed the babies now though so it isn't all so bad. :) We have been co-bedding and it works out great. They keep each other nice and warm and sleep well together.

I am healing as to be expected I suppose. I can't believe how cut open I was. We measured my cut and it's about 8.5 in long. I had a spinal and boy was that a different experience. Quickly I felt my body fall asleep from my chest down. Just like when your arm has falling completely asleep and it is touched, same feeling I had during surgery. It was so strange to feel all the tugging and pulling, I just wanted it over. From start to finish I think it was about an hour in surgery. Andrew got to see my guts. lol He thought that was pretty cool. They took out my entire uterus to look at it and put it back in. I didn't get up to walk until the following day. That was painful! Took me over 30 minutes just to get out of bed and make it to the toilet just 5 feet away. I was shooting for the shower but I just couldn't do it. The nurse had to bathe me on the shitter. How embarrassing! She said it happens more times than you would think. At least I am not completely alone out there. lol I have been telling people that I can't understand how someone would elect to have this done. I rather go through 36 hours of labor than another c-section. lol Maybe it was all the tugging and pulling to get twins out, maybe it was the bigger incision, either way... I am glad I don't ever have to do that again. The pain is worth the result, but recovering is pretty hard. Not sure how long it will take to be back to normal, but I know each day will get better. Today I was able to change my first diapers! :) I haven't been able to get up and do that till now so it was actually pretty exciting for me.

As for the in-laws... well they stayed long enough to see the babies and left. We had no idea they were leaving either till we got to my room. They were suppose to stay for another 2 days. So, the twins were literally just about two or three hours old and they were gone. We got home yesterday and Andrew about went postal. He spent a month working hard to get the house ready for the twins, worked hard to stay on top of their messes while they were here and we come home to a dirty mess. I don't know what they did to the floors but it took Andrew a while to scrub all that up, garbage all over the place, it was just bad. I could never leave anyone's house in that condition and they knew damn well we had two brand new babies to bring home. I am just glad they are gone!!!!!!

I am going to post pictures. I have no idea how big they will be and there are quite a few I am going to share. :)

OMG Steph- I agree with Franca. I'm just kind of amazed. They are just so awesome! You guys looked so happy...well you looked a little sleepy. :) I'm so excited for you both. And on to the drama....HOW DARE THEY! I can't believe they left your house so screwed up! And they didn't even stay to help or anything? Isn't that kind of the point of coming down when the babies are born???? At least they don't live closer!
