Ok Tracii, I'll take your advice. Right now I leave the boys in all kinds of places unattended for short periods of time...swing, bouncy seat, bumbo chairs, recliner, etc...and I run to the bathroom or run to a different room to grab something, etc. They haven't showed any signs of getting out of anything, but it sounds like it's just going to happen one of these times. I bet you felt horrible when Isabella cried after hitting her head. You poor thing. It probably scared her as much as it hurt. I know you are not the first mom to have this happen, so don't feel too bad. Just give her lots of hugs and kisses and maybe you'll feel better! Hopefully you can rest tonight.

KristiA - Isabella is doing fine this AM. It definitely happens when you turn your back for a second and when you least expect it.

HI guys!

Was talking about the exact same thing to a friend the other day. We were saying how easy it is for things to happen - in other words Tracii don't beat yourself up about it. These things are bound to happen.
Good to keep reminding ourselves though just how mobile they are getting!
Glad to see things ok.

Take care

Hello all,

How is everyone doing? We are doing great. Colin is 18lbs 26 inches. He is doing the army crawl and getting where he wants to go. He has both of his bottom teeth showing and in pain. Just wondering if any of you are going through the teething stage and what are you doing about it. I have been giving him baby oragel but doesnt seem to work to well. It seems to help, but I feel there is more I can do and dont know what. Any suggestions? Hope all is doing well.

Hi Madiva - We have a lot of teething going on too, although nothing has popped through yet. Tylenol seems to help. I've also heard from a couple different people that there are disolving tablets you can give them. I don't know the name of them, but have heard that you can get them at Walgreens.

Tracii - Hope you and Isabella are both doing ok. I'm sure it was much more tramatic for you! Glad to hear she wasn't seriously hurt. I think we've all be dreading the moment that something like that would happen. Hendricks has tipped over backwards a couple times when sitting, even when I am right there with him. Of course he screams which sends me into tears cuz I feel like such a bad mom. But things happen and we just have to do the best we can.

Cla - Hope you are getting along ok with the chickenpox.

All is well here. The whether is finally getting nice and we LOVE being outside. The swing at the park is a great new distraction. Plus Hendricks loves to watch the other kids playing. I think if he could he'd jump right out of my arms and go join them.
:)

Good morning 8) Isabella is still sleeping so I have a little quiet time to write. Someone had asked awhile ago about AF - well after my attempt to BF (with nill coming in)..I stopped after 4 weeks, 2 weeks later AF showed up and has been spot on time every month..also there are rumors that after child birth your cramps aren't as bad..well all lies..my cramps are just as bad as pre-Isabella.. in fact now that I can compare it...it is like giving child birth every month

We are off for shots today...hopefully she doesn't get a fever this time. We are still waiting for teeth to cut through...we thought acouple of months ago she would get something..even midwife thought for sure she would get a tooth..but nothing..she is drooling tons and looks like something should be happening but I wake up every morning and check. Isabella has started the 'drag'crawl..she can get herself across the room when she wants something..it is pretty funny because she gets this look on her face and off she goes..her favorite things are...baby wipe bags, magazines, and coffee mugs...how do children know they shouldn't have these things?

Afternoon all!
how's everyone doing? Had a lovely weekend - my sister and Mum came to stay. Was fab! Took a walk into town, bought salads and all had lunch by the River Avon (even Charlie - although he had milk!!). Was such a nice sunny day, the street entertainers were out and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!!! Shame they had to go home and I've had to come back to work!!!!

RE: teething - we use the powders (the ones I use are called Nelsons). I suspect Charlie's next tooth is coming as we have a VERY dribbly baby, plus the sniffles, a cough and LOTS of snot (sorry if TMI!). Also been a bit unsettled for a few days. Can't feel anything yet, but then I couldn't with the other two until BANG - they were there!!!!

Hope you are all doing well!!!!!

CLA - I was glad to read your post. Hendricks cut is first two teeth this morning. I could visually tell on Friday that they were about to pop out, and they finally made an appearance this morning. Besides being the drool king, he's also had the runny nose, watery eyes... I thought maybe he has allergies, but I'm hoping it is the teething. My little devil, umm ANGEL, was up 6 times last night. Poor thing just couldn't settle himself. I'm hoping now that the teeth are throught that he's happy again, until of course the next ones show up :D Sounds like you all had a terrific day

Anyone else working on drinking from a cup? Hendricks just laps at it like a dog, or latches on and starts sucking on the rim. I don't want him to use a sippy cup so we are trying to get the cup thing going so that we can start to phase out the bottle. Most of it just dribbles back out, but he gets so excited that it is fun to keep trying even if it makes a mess.

Hope you are all well. Anyone heard from Charlie and Richard lately? They seem to have disappeared

:D Hi Ladies

It's been a while since I've posted...the boys are keeping me so busssyyy...but I love it. Demari is crawling and Anias is trying to crawl...they weigh around 20lbs each now and eat baby food 3 times a day. They lay on each other and take pacifiers out of each others mouths. To our surprise they say mama and dada.

Way to go Hendricks and look out Cla, EYCI, Madiva, KristiA they're coming.

Traci, Demari fell off the bed once and the sofa once....he's ok though.it scared me though.

Hey Julie, why don't you want Hendricks to use a sippy cup? I'm assuming there's a good reason, but I haven't heard not to use them. So I was curious. I've been giving a sippy cup to my boys to get them used to it but they just play with it so far. PS...congrats on the two teeth!!!

Hello all, glad to hear all is going well. I posted new pics of Colin on Photobucket. Colin is doing great. He has two teeth at the bottom and loves to bite my fingers with them lol. He is getting everywere in the house so we have child proofed it. He is not completly crawling yet but real close. That is when I will hopefully loose the rest of my 15lbs lol. Hope to see more pics and continue having fun with growing ones.

Hi All -

KristiA - The only reason for the sippy cup is just a personal one. I don't like the idea of kids dragging them all over the house and sucking away on them like they are a bottle. I'd rather teach him to use a cup, and if he is thirsty, his cup can sit at the table in the kitchen for when he wants it. I know it sounds weird. A friend of mine did this, and it worked really well. I'm also trying to go the route of no juice, just water or formula. I'm just a big sugar freak so of course I'm going to impose this on my kid too. ha ha ha

On a more serious note, I found out last week that I am having thryoid problems. It has lead to some extreme fatigue and post-partum depression, no AF (not that I mind that one), which is why I went to see my OB. She tested my thyroid level and it came back that I am hypothyroid. I'm in the midst of a bunch of in-depth tests to really pinpoint what is going on. I'm seeing an endocrinologist for this. I had an ultrasound yesterday to see if it appears cancerous and I find out the results on Friday. I'm trying not to worry and am trying to convince myself that it is a good thing as it explains why I've felt so crappy for months. I guess it is not un-common for women to experience post-partum thyroid problems and many of us just attribute our symptoms to motherhood.

Well - I want to wish you all a well deserved very happy Mother's Day. Even though we were all preggers last year, I think actually having my baby to hold on Mom's day is just going to be wonderful.

I will try to post a new pic on photobucket... can't do it from work as they have now blocked that site. :x

Madiva, Colin's baby blue eyes are gorgeous!!!!! What a cutie! I just posted a couple pictures also. I had pics professionally taken of me and the boys as a gift to myself for Mother's Day.

Julie, that makes sense about the sippy cups. Sorry to hear about your thyroid problem. I'm sure you didn't love to hear that, but also maybe it helps make some sense out of how you've been feeling. I hope the results show it's not cancerous and you can stop worrying!!! Keep us posted!

EYCI: I have problems with my thyroid also and have for years prior to me being misdiagnosed. I had ultrasounds and a biopsy 2 years ago, now I have to go through this all over again with hypo and hyperthyroidism. I know that I will have to have my thyroids removed and soon. The biopsy was painful and a bit scary. This time I asked them if they could sedate me. I may have Grave's Disease, I have some of the symptoms.
