Hi all. I had my second scan and there are still only 9 follies but they have all grown. My doctor said he's encouraged by the progress but I still feel like this is so many fewer follies than other girls get. I'm having a really down day about it. And the follies are all still immature even though I'm on day 8 of stims. Today they seemed to range from 11-17. I need to go back on Wednesday. This is so hard! I'm just so afraid there won't be any good eggs in there! :(

How is everyone else today?
Brandi, how was your retrieval. I hope you are feeling okay today.
Lynne, congrats on 5 embies...that is an awesome report! You are giving my hope!
Lisapa, Mulligan, and Alex--Welcome!
Jen and Sher...how are stims?

Melanie,

You are fine. Nothing to worry about. Sounds like you are right on schedule with the size of your follies and if there was anything to be concerned about, your doctor would let you know or change your protocol. You will probably be transferring 2-3 so you are just fine. Relax and treat yourself to something special.

Hey Everybody,

I went to the dr. today and I have 22 follicles. Some of them are pretty big. I think the biggest I heard was a 28! Anyway, the problem is that my estrogen level is through the roof! It's a whopping 5078 on day 8 of stims. I don't know what they are going to do, but they may take the eggs on Wednesday, freeze them, wait for my ovaries to calm down and then do the transfer sometime later. I'll be so disappointed if that happens, but I don't want to overstimulate. Do any of you know anything about that? I'm so nervous....

Melanie,
I remember Dr. Hasty telling me that 10 was great and 15 better, so 9 is still a good number. Also, I think the size is pretty good. Stimming can take some people 8 days and others up to 14. So, try (I know it's hard) not to be discouraged. Have you ever read alittlepregnant.com? It's a great blog by a woman named Julie. She never made many eggs, but got pregnant several times. She had several miscarriages, but that has nothing to do with the number of eggs- she had other issues. My point is that 9 is a good solid number. Keep me posted on Wed.

Sher- I started stims Sat. so we are close. First u/s this Thursday.

Hi Ladies, I missed a lot this weekend. I am glad to hear about everyone's progress.

As for me, Stimming is going okay. Yesturday I have been feeling a bit bloated. That should be a good thing.

Mybaby: My next scan is on Wednesday so I will find out how many embies have grown. I keep talking to my ovaries and telling them to grow.

Mulligan- this site has some info on over stimulation. It's a good article on the ivf process and talks about the OHSS. Hope that helps.

Hi,

I just got off the phone with my ivf nurse and we're going ahead with the retrieval. It's scheduled for 10:30 on Wed am. I go tomorrow for my preop and more bw. I'm very anxious to see how many eggs they can get and how the fertilization process goes. From there they will decide when to do the transfer. If I start to overstimulate towards the end of this week, then they will freeze them for a month or so. I REALLY hope that doesn't happen. I've been waiting for this for so long, I don't know if I can wait ANOTHER month. Hopefully, I wont' overstimulate and they put them in on Monday. We'll see what happens.

I'll update as I go along...

jeneden- thanks for the link to the ohss website. I'll check it out...

Thanks Jen! That does make me feel better. I asked my nurse today if she thought there was any reason I'd be cancelled and she said no. My estrogen went up to 930 and she was happy with that number too. They want me to go back tomorrow now instead of Wed though and she said we'd monitor every day now until trigger. She said ER would be Friday-Sunday depending on how the next 2-3 days go. I'm going to check out that blog!

I'm sending growing follie vibes to all you stimmers out there!

Sorry, but just had to rant. I love that I am actually feel things, but it is not fun.

PIO

Post by lynneyd7 »

Hey there,
The PIO is going great!!! Sounds crazy, I was sooooo scarred. But I put an ice pack on the area for 5 mins, and my husband does the injection and I do not feel it at all. I also apply a warm wash cloth afterwards. So far so great. Excited about tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes, bedrest for 24 hours. What fun:)
