CT Michele; How long did it take for you to get AF while on Lupron? I know I have only been on it for a week but I feel just awful. I am exhausted and I feel so bloated. My face is breaking out and all I want to do is stay in bed. RE said I shouldnt have to be on it for more than 2 weeks to get AF but time is dragging for me! I guess I should be thankful I dont have the horrible headaches that I have read come with Lupron.

Hey Everyone,
praying- I was also on bcp's. I started bcp's way back on May 7, then started lupron on May 21, stopped bcps on May 26 and af showed up May 31, so I think it had more to do with me stopping bcp's than it did with taking lupron. I hope af shows up for you soon.
morningglory- welcome to our thread. So sorry to hear about your bfn, it is a very crushing and emotional thing to go through, I just went through it myself in april. I put you on our list, right into the stimming section. We will be keeping our fingers crossed for lots of follies. When is your estimated retrieval?
hjw- Hazel! I am so glad to finally see you here...you know how much I will be praying for you. I am so glad you skipped the waiting list and we get to do this together again, but hopefully this time, we will have a better outcome.

July cycle
Hi everyone! This is my very first post to a message board regarding IVF. I've read and read and read posts from others, but never replied before....
DH and I have been married for 4 years and have been TTC for 3. We were diagnosed w/ unexplained infertility in 2007 and went through several unsuccessful months of IUI before we made the jump to IVF. We did our first IVF cycle in January '09. I didn't know what to expect, but was surprised that my side effects weren't as bad as I had feared, even though DH would tell you otherwise! We transferred 2 embryos and got a BFP to only find out 2 weeks later that the heartbeat was irregular and would end in miscarriage. By the time I got to the D&C, the heartbeat was already gone.
I had not thought about our July cycle until I took that first BCP in May. I tried to keep it out of my mind and HATED it when people asked questions or wanted to talk to me about our second cycle. I would have just given up all together if DH as well as our doctor's didn't give me so much encouragement.
So, here I am, weeks away from going through it all again and scared to death. We've agreed that this will be our last shot before moving onto adoption. I'm trying to remain upbeat and positive about things. I think I was lucky for my first round to work at all and hope that bodes well for success this time around.

Morningglory- I fixed you on the list, I thought you were stimming now, I just listed your dates and that your on lupron and put you on the waiting list. I move people up to the other section once they are actually stimming.
marymeg- welcome! I remember when I first joined, I had read a lot too, but never make the plunge to post, but I am glad you did, it will be the best support you have found, and you may end up addicted like me! If you don't mind me asking, how old are you and dh, and where are you from? What kind of protocol are you doing this time? I am so sorry to hear about your m/c, I can not even begin to imagine what that is like. Hopefully this time will be successful for you. If you give me your estimated dates of stim start, ER/ET, I can put you on the list too.

I am 34 and DH is 33. We are currently living in Alexandria. I'm assuming that my egg retrieval will be mid July, but am not sure of the date. We're at Walter Reed in Bethesda and they only do cycles in July, October, January, and April. I have been on BCP for 17 days now, paid our "big bill" last week, and expect to hear from my nurses in the next couple weeks for my scheduling. Last time I did Lupron along w/ one other med that I can't remember at the moment, Ovidril, and Progesterone. My body responded well to all the medication and I had 11 eggs retrieved. Of the 11, only 5 fertilized, and the best 2 were transferred. I'm going to request 3 to be transferred (if I'm lucky enough to have that many) b/c this will be our last go at it.
I'll post my "exact" dates when I get my schedule from the nurses. I hate this holding pattern.

CT_Michele - I got AF 5/31 also. But now you're ahead of me on the schedule. I wanted to wait until 6/26 for my FET because my RE will be the one doing it. They have so many there and I haven't had him do it yet. Maybe he does it better! That's what I am hoping. Also, are there things now that I should, shouldn't be eatting or doing? I read different answers from everybody. Some people say to do things as you normally would. But I drink and eat a lot of sugar free and fat free things - with aspartamine in it. Does all that really matter? - Just want to know your opinion on this.

Marymeganb- I am guessing alexandria VA right? That is suprising to hear your clinic only does cycles four times a year. My clinic does them about every 3-4 wks. I will put you on our list for mid july.
mikeandjess- wow we are on very close schedules. I just talked to my clinic today about some things I should or should not be doing. I am going to a neck dr tomorrow and I just wanted to check with the clinic about meds they might prescribe. They told me I should be doing only tylenol for pain, avoiding the ibuprofen I normally take. As far as foods and such, I also eat a lot of sugar free foods (I'm a low carber) with aspartame in them. I don't think it is of concern yet, I will probably ask when I go on thursday. My guess is that we are fine with that stuff up until date of transfer. I will let you know if I hear otherwise.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center only does 4 cycles a year. I guess the reason is b/c everyone is military and they have couples from all over the country who come here for their services b/c they're really good at what they do and although military health insurance does not cover the treatments, we do get a sweet deal.

I'm doing a fresh cycle in July b/c none of my embryos were good enough to freeze. I don't mind, though, and am actually kind of glad that we get to start w/ a fresh batch.
