Raquel....I have a question for you. I am new to this thread. I am 6wks 5 days and had an episode with bleeding yesterday. I have been spotting for since about 5 weeks. I was extremely worried, so I did a beta level @ 5 weeks and it was 5139. Later that weekend, the cramping and spotting got heavier. I just knew things went bad. My RE got me in for a scan the followign tues. I was 5 weeks 6 days. That was when we got the wonderful news that we were expecting 2 babies! It was the first time in the past three years that my RE used the word spectacular when he was talking about something to do with me. Both babies measured the same and were great for their gestational age. They were also both in great places. I left the RE finally with some peace of mind. I was thinking "ok, so I am going to spot...no worries". Low and behold yesterday while we were out of town...my spotting turned into bleeding. I was frantic. My RE had me go to the emergency room there. I gave them all of my information and told them to call my Re before deciding what to do. Of course, they tried to do a pelvic exam without asking my RE, luckily, my mother is very persistant and we made sure all things done were approved by my doctor first. They did a beta level check and after 11 days it was up to 31275. Ok...so I thought things were supposed to double every 48hrs, but my RE told me after a while it takes more like 3-4 days to double. Then they wheeled me to U/S. I am used to going to my RE because when they do and ultrasound...they are able to tell me exactly what I am looking at, etc. Of course, in a hospital it is different. I am trying to stretch my neck to look at the screen. And I saw both babies. I asked him if they both had the sacs still......he demanded he was not able to give my any information. I hated every minute of it. I saw him measuring something but I didn't know what. The doctor in the emergency room told me that both babies were fine and still in the right place. They had seen their heartbeats but could not hear them. I asked the RE nurse why that would happen. She said...many times their equipment is not like theirs at the RE's.

My question is.....sorry about all the info. could you tell me how they found the clot and how far along were you? What were the symptoms when you bled? I am still spotting today...it has turned more of a brown color. I do not go back to my RE for 6 more days. I am completely freaking out. I stayed home from work today to try and take it easy.

Thanks
Michelle

Hi Michelle

You really have been put through it haven't you.
I'm afraid I don't have any answers for you but I think you are doing the right thing by resting up as much as you can.
Hopefully your RE will be able to put your mind at rest, although it's gonna be a horrible six days for you.
Try to take it easy and I'm thinking of you.

Chelle, you hit 35 weeks today!! Another big milestone. Of course each week lately seems like a milestone to me.

Michelle, I'll be thinking about you as well. Hopefully Racquel can give you some info you were looking for. Keep strong & hang in there!

Kareen, you probably won't get much relief from your backaches. Sorry to say that! My side pain & my back pain haven't gotten better over the past few months...only worse. I've learned to cope with it...some days better than others.

I had a baby shower this past weekend and got lots of nice stuff. The cutest things are the coordinating boy outfits/clothes.

I have a scan tomorrow with a technician from the hospital, so they will do an in-depth check on the babies. I'm looking forward to hearing their measurants & weight at this stage.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hi Kristi

Excellent, a scan tomorrow. It will be lovely to find out their weights etc. You may even find out that baby B has turned around now.

We have found it's not been worth getting a photos the last couple of times as they are too big now.

I can't believe I only have three weeks to go... eeek. I am still very excited but anxious too.

Have your babies movements changed over the last few weeks. Mine have. Alot less kicking now just alot of pushing and joints sticking out. I love it.

Have fun tomorrow and let us know how you get on.

Chelle, I feel like Baby B has been moving sideways, so I was wondering if he was trying to turn. Usually I can feel his head sticking out right below my right breast. But now there's a big bulge way off to my right side. Either he's sideways with his head, or just sticking his butt out that way. We'll see! I would love for him to turn like yours did.

Yeah, definately different movements lately. Last week I keep saying that it's more like body parts sticking/pushing out as opposed to just quick movements.

You mentioned 3 weeks to go...which would be 38 weeks. Are they planning to induce labor if you haven't had them by that time? Or would they let you keep going to 40 weeks. My doctor won't commit to that at this point.

HI EVERYONE :D , Well i had my scan today. everything fine both babies measuring the right size. i had a more detailed scan today i was in there about 40 minutes, it was great watching my babies play for nearly an hour. well the thing you have all been waiting for.......did i found out?..............yeah i did :D 2 little princeses. She was certain of one girl and couldnt see any obvious boy parts on the other. She said she thinks 2 girls :D Things can change , i no they arnt 100% but one girl is good enough for me. ive always been desperate for a girl, so 2 girls i feel like ive won the lottery :D . we'll see. i go for another scan in 3 weeks i'll no for sure then.
The only thing that concerned me today. She told me i have one low lying placenta. She said it wouldnt harm the babies so thats good. she did say it would mean a c section cause obviously its blocking the way out. maybe it will move, but there isnt much room in there. oh well i was set on a section anyway.
im not to lift anything heavy, and no sex, oh well :D
im glad they are fine,
hope you are all fine too.
im on such a high today i cant believe all my dreams are coming true, even my dreams of two little girls. i hope there right :?

Kristi

You will have had your scan I guess before you read this message, but it sounds to me as if Baby B has turned. I could also feel her head under my right breast but now I feel her bum (butt definately feels larger than head) sticking out to the right. Also her feet keep poking out quite high now.
Can't wait to hear from you.

My Obs has said that if there is no show by 38 weeks they will induce me and not let me go to 40 weeks.

Hayley, really pleased to hear all is well and that your scan was fantastic. It does put you on a high, doesn't it. I have always found that I am on a high for about three weeks then, about a week before my next scan, I get all nervous and start to worry, then after the scan I feel great again. Our bodies and minds are facinating I think.
Wow two girls too. How exciting.

Love to all

Chelle, yep, you & I were right. Funny how I had that feeling Baby B was turning based on where he was sticking out. Well, he's not completely turned, but he's sideways now. Doc said "it will make for an interesting delivery because if he stays that way we won't know what way he'll want to come out after Baby A is delivered". Maybe he'll keeping flipping the full way before then like yours did.

Doc said the boys are "perfectly average". Baby A is 3 lbs 11 ozs and Baby B is 3 lbs 9 ozs. Seems weird to think they will each be 4 lbs within a week or two.

Hayley, congrats on your little girls!! I can tell you are thrilled. I really wanted at least one girl. Oh well... No complaints here. Have fun buying all the pink/purple frilly things!

Kareen, sounds like you may need to be off your feet. My job is behind a desk (which is good for my feet, but kills my back). I have been working from home 2 days a week for awhile (not relating to pregnancy) so that's been helping me cope.

Haven't seen a post from Raquel in awhile. Hope she's ok with her blood clot problem she had.

kristi... glad everything with your scan went well.....by the time babies are 'due' they will be great weights.... you will have to take things easy from now on..... plenty rest ......

i really dont know what to do about work.... i was hoping to finish around 28 weeks... but doctor said i would be lucky to last to 24 weeks.... i work in a restruant so its impossible to sit down and work... except when im on a break... which is only 15mins... :( ... after 6 hours on my feet my back kills me...

hope everyone is well....

Hello ladies! I just posted my 32 week pic on photobucket.

Kareen, I got my haircut last week too and went short! I told the lady I needed an easy short haircut that wouldn't take long to do. Of course it's so short that it sticks up after I sleep so I'm hoping I don't go into labor in the middle of night or else I'll look bad in my hospital pics. Ha ha. The things I think about!

Lumi, glad to hear from you again. Glad to hear you're doing well too.

Hayley, have you bought lots of girlie stuff since last week?

Chelle, where are you? Your close to 36 weeks and you haven't posted since Wednesday. I'm beginning to wonder if your big day arrived!?!?

Kristi - I have just got back from having a scan and guess what? Little Madam has turned again and now breech. I can tell, this little one is going to the naughty one (just like my mum said I was... payback time she calls it  ) and little boy is gonna be like Daddy - nice and calm.
Obs said there would be every chance even if both babies were head down that after the first one comes out, the second may could still possibly turn breech, so there is no saying what will happen. Only time will tell on the day.
Both babies are now over 6lb which pleased us but if I carry on for another two weeks, I could end up with a couple of 8 pounders
I have been getting period like cramps all over the weekend so I am hoping that maybe next weekend, will be time. Otherwise, they will consider inducing me at 38 weeks!!
Not sleeping very well at all now. Was awake with excitement at 4am this morning.

Love to all
