Gina- that is amazing they can predict that. But sorry they were not able to keep you from going into labor. I went into preterm with my son and I wasnt feeling my contractions and I was dilating and thinning so I have to have cervical checks for this baby. I still think it was because I was 17 and young, beause with Angela I had no issues. Praying no issues with this one too.

Margi- Glad your appointment went well and the babies are doing well. Sorry about the swelling :( Can't wait to see your pics!!

AFM: Appointment went very well and the doctor was very happy with everything. Lucas is measuring ahead still and he is measuring 22 weeks. He also weighs 1 pound 1 ounce. He was doing a sucking motioning with his mouth and he kept putting his hand to his face. The doctor wants to see me back in 3-4 weeks. ARGH 3 weeks??? I bet she is going to have me come in every 2 weeks sooner than I thought.

I'm going to try and load a picture.

Margi- Congrats on 28 wks!!! You keep trucking right along to get those 2 babies big and healthy so you can bring them home with you. You definitely need to pick out carseats sooner or later so you can bring those babies home eventually. Glad you passed your Glucose test- mine is the 16th so fingers crossed. So glad you and both babies are doing well (despite the swelling, aches etc). So crazy that Nov 9 is the latest you will go!! Cant wait to see photos of that little belly so you better get DH to help you soon!

Kat- Your belly is absolutely tiny!!! And Lucas is so handsome already! Glad he is still measuring ahead and seems to be doing well. Even though it stinks you are going back in 3 wks, its always nice to know that things are still going well and you are on track for everything.

AFM- Went back to MFM and had a horrible not nice US tech. She did the US in about 2 seconds and I didn’t even get to hear their heartbeats- she just put them up on the screen without sound. She checked to make sure they were doing ok and then wrapped it up. Only pic she gave me was one of both of their heads still face down and side by side. As for my cervix check…MD said not to freak out but she wanted to see me again next week to check. It had previously been measuring 3cm and yday all her measurements were in between 2.7-2.9cm. Though its not a big change its starting to get a little shorter and she said she would rather be safe than sorry and check me in a week. I obviously agree that I would come in whatever day she suggested. She said if my cervix has continued to get shorter in the next week we would have to consider limiting activity and maybe doing steroid shots just to be safe. So..back on Sept 7 for another check. On the plus side- both girls are doing great and I hit 24 wks today!! I will post a new pic later tonight after I get home.

HI LADIES!!!

I never know how much time I have to post during nap time... but here goes!

Blair - BOOOOOO for not nice u/s techs! My last one the week before I was induced the tech made some comment about how if there weren't heartbeats, then "game over"... It took all I had to not scream at her that my babies weren't a friggin' game. Who says stuff like that?!! All prenatal u/s techs should be gaga over babies and make the mommies feel warm and fuzzy. Otherwise, they can go sono a colon or something! Can't wait to see the girls' heads!

Kat - Very cute bump pic! You're so tiny! What a cute profile pic, it won't be too much longer!

Gina - Will and Wyatt are getting so big! LOVE the smile on Will's face, he's such a happy fella! Praying for little Wyatt to get rid of those strawberry patches.

Ryann - How friggin' cute are your babies?!! I finally scheduled Brady and Jaxon their pics for Tuesday @ 11am... I'm praying they cooperate! Browned flour, huh? I wonder how in the world someone discovered that remedy for baby bottom sores.

Margi - YAY for heads down! They can still turn, like you said, but it's such a good feeling to think a vaginal delivery is a very real possibility. :D

Lou - Could you be any cuter of a pregnant woman?? You look great honey!

afm - What a crazy, hectic (and wonderful!) life I live, especially now being back to work! I'm going to start a campaign to rally for more hours in a day!

The boys are smiling and cooing up a storm! It's such a beautiful sound when we have little conversations.

Just got my BeFit-Mom DVD in the mail and can't wait to start it! I got the Bounce Back Fast! Post Natal Core Conditioning video which got 5 star reviews every site I checked. I'll let you ladies know if it's as good as everyone claims. Lord knows my tummy needs it to be!

Also got a surprise gift from Enfamil on my doorstep this morning. Four 4-packs of 8 oz ready to use cans of the formula Jaxon's on! I was thinking about calling to them to find out if they have those in the soy version... maybe I can get some samples of those, too.

DD and DS's football and cheerleading practices were cancelled due to a heat wave here in Illinois, so my schedule cleared up some this evening, so I'll post some new pics.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend!

Thank you SD!

Blair- Congrats on hitting 24 weeks :) Soo sorry you had such an aweful us experience :( I had that the last time I went in and I didn;t get any good pics either. The one who did it this time was awesome and I got more than enough!

Baby-Blu It's so great to hear from you. You'll have to post some pics of the boys!! I can only imagine how little free time you must have with twins. God love you Moms with twins! I'm freaking out about one.

Question when did you all pick your pediatrician for the baby? I've always done it before delivery but I can't remember when I made the call, I think it was when I hit my 7th month. With both my kids I was in differant states as I've lived in 3 these last 20 years. Angela stopped going to one when we moved to Boston and oddly hers was in NH and we had her in Boston and I hated that he wasn't involved in the beginning when she was in the NICU and he just plain sucked so we switched her when she was 8 to a general practicioner. Since this baby is going to be a preemie I really want to stick with a pediatrician at first preferably one who has worked with preemies. I have a few I want to check out that shows they have had experience and is associated with my hospital, but wondering when I should make the call. Don't want to do it too early.

Alisa -- Shower plans and registries --- how fun! Haha, tell me about bending at the waist... clipping my toenails is a HUGE chore at this point. Just wait...lol.

Kat -- Sorry about the 2 week heart monitor. Sounds like Lucas is healthy and lively in there. You look great. Love the u/s profile pic of him as well. We have our short list of pediatricians and are going to call offices the week of 9/12 when I'm 35 weeks and make our final pick. If I had to pick now, I know who I want though.

Ryann-- Gorgeous babies! What exactly is this flour miracle diaper rash recipe???

Blair -- Oh what I wouldn't give to work from home! Awesome your MIL got your car seats for you. My in-laws are nice but sorta cheap (they aren't poor or anything). For my shower, she made a small quilt, which is very nice and I love it... but not exactly the high chair, stroller, car seat, or big ticket item from my registry that I was hoping for. Oh well, they are going to babysit one day a week for free so that's nice since I don't have any family. I'm an only child and both of my parents are deceased. My mom's parents are an hour away, but they are sickly and both 86 years old. I go there once a week to do things they can't do for themselves. Sorry you didn't get a nice u/s tech this last time. Maybe next week will be better. HOpe your cervix check goes well.

Ashley -- OK, those supplements sound nuts to me. You either have Group B Strep or you don't. None of those are going to "prevent it". In my opinion, may do more harm than good. Acidophilus and other pro-biotics have recently been in the literature for CAUSING infections. My advice... don't just trust her and take them, ask for medical literature to back up the claim she's making. If there isn't any evidence based literature from a reputable source, then I wouldn't trust that advice. What do I know? I'm just a hospital clinical pharmacist. :)

Anton -- Thank you! Yes, Chloé will be here in my arms soon. I'm excited and scared all at the same time. You will get your miracle baby too hun... I have really strong positive feelings about both you and Ester and so far that's come true.

Margi -- Yay for 28 weeks! And for passing the GD test. Bring on the chocolate!!!! Glad the babies are doing so well. Did you pick out names yet??? Care to share?

Stephanie -- Thanks! I get told all the time at work how "cute" I look. What will I be after the baby when I have that "post-partum" look? How'd you get the Enfamil samples? Do tell! That's awesome though. Let us know how you like the DVD.... we can all get back into shape together!

AFM -- I repeated my 24 hr urine protein, it was 324 mg :? . I know they like to see it under 300, but my BP hasn't been too bad (138/88) so I'm hoping it's not a big deal. My kidney function is also really good. Maybe the OB office will call me tomorrow, otherwise, I'll have to wait for my appt on Tuesday to hear. Since I'm "AMA" (advanced maternal age), my doc doesn't want me to go much past 39 weeks. If Chloé doesn't come on her own, then she has planned for me to come in the evening of 10/9/11 for an induction. I have a wedding to go to on 10/8, so I'm really hoping she's here a little earlier so I can go or we go to the induction date. She's a big and strong little baby. She kicked off to my left yesterday and I was in a chair with no arms and lost my balance and nearly fell onto the floor! Literally my whole stomach moved several inches to the left. WOW! Who knew?

Hello All!! Sorry I have been MIA. you would think I would have tons of time being off work, but somehow I stay busy or I seem feel too down to respond. I read most days and still cheer you all on. For those mommas that have been or are on bed rest, bless your hearts. I am not but just not being able to go to work or move around as much gets to me.

I will attempt to catch up sorry if I miss some of you.

Ryann - Your twins are so cute and are getting bigger everyday - love the tux/tutu outfits. Did you or DH go to purdue? That is where my DH went, but several years before you. So glad to hear you found some comfort for little Dylan's bum. Good to know some old tricks still work - I will have to keep the flour in mind. Is your dizziness better? Was it anemia?

Rio - DS and Lizzy are so sweet. I can't believe how perfect Lizzy's skin is. I do plan on BF but know it will be very hard. Maybe planning for the worst will make it better. I hope so because I know the benefits are so good for the babies. Thank you for your encouragement. So glad that Lizzy to growing and doing so much better. Thanks for article on hip dysplasia - I made sure my DH read it as well.

Margi - Sorry that you are still having so much pain and swelling. I hope the wrist supports have helped with the wrist pain. Congrats on 28 weeks - another milestone! Good job on the glucose test. Welcome to the anemia club - I think all twin mommas are anemic. Eat lots of fruit (esp fruit with pits - peaches, etc..) - It has really helped keep me regular. At about 28 weeks both of mine were head down too and they have not moved. I really dont think they have the room to move. I went to the childbirth classes and did find them helpful, esp on the nights we had an instructor that had twins herself. She always pointed out how thinks may or will be different for me.

Lou - Great question about what is needed in hospital bag. I am getting mine ready as well. You are still looking great - all belly! I hope you get some news on your urine test soon - like you said hopefully all is well. It must be nice to have an exact due date - atleast you know that you will not go past then.

SD - love the family pictures. DS is so cute!

Blair - great deal on the dresses. I have found that they are the only thing I am really comfortable in anymore, everything else just bothers the belly or the bladder. Glad taht your nursery is coming together. We are still waiting on the furniture - it should have been here 2 weeks ago - now they say Irene held it up - my patient's is running out. Congrats on 24 weeks. Sorry the US tech was mean - I am lucky, I have a history with the US tech at my clinic so she always spends extra time and effort for me. But it is great that the girls are growing well. I hope your cervix holds - glad they are keeping a close eye on you.

Alisa - It is so great that you are feeling your LO move - It makes it so much more real - I just sit and watch my belly move and laugh at some of the movements they do - my belly really moves all over the place. They knocked the tv remote off my belly the other night. Glad you got your registry finished - to me it sounded fun until I started then I realized how much I did not know.

AFM - Well I have had some changes. Lost my mucus plug yesterday. There was no blood or even pink in it so I wasn't too worried but decided to call dr office anyway - He told me to call with any changes. So I saw him today and they did a cervix check. I am 80% effaced and 1 cm dilated. I need to limit my activity for the next 7-10 days. After that I can likely go back to normal as I will be far enough along in the pregnancy. I still have not had any contractions or BH, unless I am clueless on what I should be feeling. I feel tightness at times but the babies butts are also sticking out at the same time so I think it is just them stretching everything. What do you think? I would know a contraction, right?

Attempting to post while bfeeding ;) pardon my spelling.

AFM Well I went to OB today and he looked at my incision and said yeah that's not doing so well, so he got some gauze and peroxide and scrubbed the bejeezus out of it, talk about adding insult to injury. Fudgesickles! I told him that I am still in quite a bit of pain when sitting down, getting up. So I am now on anitbiotics and he told me to take it very easy, not do anything, lay down all the time. That should be a piece of cake considering DH goes back to work tomorrow and daycare is closed tomorrow!!! I just don't know how this resting thing is possible but again I only have 2 weeks left to feel better before going back to work. Argh. I might have to take more time off. My two german shepherds are like extra high need toddlers so keeping everyone happy should be interesting. I know the big picture is that we are very happy and Lizzy is healthy but I am just sick and tired of being sick and tired and my healing taking so long, very frustrated, had a cryaing spell and bought me a milky way... ok 2! On the bright side miss Lizzy is doing great and getting some cheeks, she is losing some hair which makes for an interesting hairdo! Lizzy is quite strong for a little girl. and the other day during diaper change managed to pee on her face and on daddy which for a girl is no small feat! I guess I also did not realize how big DS is getting but now comparing him to her, he is not my baby anymore which is sad, but he is my very smart and funny big boy now!

SD - are you reading big brother books to DS? We got 3 of them and they were very helpful in teaching him what to expect. THanks again for the tips and woohoo on 30 weeks! Are you taking time off before delivery? I love your pics and DS is so gorgeous and you look amazing!

Stephanie - your boys are so handsome! So which car do you have to fit everyone? I hear ya on not enough hours in the day!

KJM - take it very easy now that you lost your mucus plug with twins. I lost mine but still nothing went on as far as dilation. You could not know contractions, they are not as painful as I thought and it was more of a gradual tightening and you feel a hard ball cause your uterus contracts and I kind of got a warm rush heading up, some took my breath away but not in a painful way, sometimes they can be mistaken by baby movement, I think your tightening might be BH.

Lou - AMA - Grrrrr, don't you love it when they say stuff like that... we don't feel advanced thank you very much!!! Make sure your OB thinks that she can make it through ok, our son was so big and his head was of a 1 week newborn at 37 weeks so I opted for csec, he was also breech, but I was nervous he was going to get stuck and need an emergency csec. Hope your BP stays well and Chloe lets you go to the wedding!!!

Kat - you look amazing and waht a cute profile on Lucas! We let them know 2 mos ahead as far as pedis. I hope he ends up not being a preemie! Sorry about the monitor but hopefully there will be nothing and you can rest easy!

Blair - take it easy too my friend, glad they are checking you again! Those girls need to hang around mommy for a bit longer! Congrats on the big milestone! Post nursery pics!

Margi - glad your appt went well, yeay for 28 weeks! So glad they are both head down and you might have the option of not getting a csec! We never took classes, I rented a laugh and learn series and really enjoyed them.
gina - cuteness attack - how adorable!

Bliss - yeay for feeling the baby! Kicks will come soon!!!!
Ryan - OMG the outfits and your babes are just too much, so adorable! Glad Dylan is getting better!

Sunshine - glad you enjoyed the pics, gives you something to look forward to since you will be posting yours soon, fingers crossed and baby dust to you!

Anton - so happy to see you stalking us! I can't wait for your BFP in October! We are all cheering for you!

Hope - those supplements made no sense, did they swab you to check if you had Strep? I would question.

Quick post...

Rio: Sorry that you are struggling with that incision site. :( At least you have some antibiotics now....do your best to rest although clearly not easy given what is on your plate. Glad Lizzy is getting chubby cheeks though :D Hang in there....don't worry about the "extras" like house, etc. You gotta heal.

OK...ok....long overdue....here is my ginormous belly....

Jumping in to say a much belated hello!

We've been learning all about each other (Brogan and I) these last eight weeks (oh my how the time has flown by!) and haven't had much time for socializing at all....

I've had a really difficult time coming on the forum with Leora's heartbreaking news.... the loss of those two beautiful babies has had a profound impact on me - I feel guilty for having Brogan here and being so grateful when there are other parents who are just as deserving and going through so much pain. Can anybody relate to this?

I've been trying to exclusively breast feed but the little guy eats so much I was having a LOT of difficulty keeping up. Even with one to two formula feeds (about 4 - 6 oz a day) he's still gobbling up a much breast milk as I can produce. I'm not sure what his weight is but he's already out of newborn, and 0-3 month clothes and fills out the 3-6 month clothes... will be weighed and measured on the 8th.

I love stalking when I can, and all the amazing bellies are so beautiful... oh I can't wait to hear more birth stories and see more adorable photos!
