Hi gals. Thanks for your responses. I heard from the lab today and found out that out of 22 eggs, only 11 were mature, but all 11 were fertilized. Now I guess it's just a waiting game to find out how many embies we get. The frustrating thing is, my transfer is supposed to Sunday and no one will tell me if that is going to happen or not because my crazy high estrogen level.


Steph - I totally understand how hard it is to wait. I have been stuck on the couch for two days and I am going nuts. I am attempting to go back tomorrow -- we'll see how that goes.

Nouna - Thank you for your response. When you had a high estrogen level, did you feel swollen or have a major headache or anything?

do i have all the luck or what. yesterday(wed) i felt great. my dd stayed home from school to be w/ me take care of me. we did some light shopping in the morn came home and watched a movie, i took a nap and when i woke up i wasnt feeling all that great. had lots of cramps. by last nite (wed) i told aaron i feel like im gonna die!!!! so we called after hours to the dr and he said take some vicaden you'll be ok.my other dd saw how much pain i was in and volluntered to stay home w/ me the next day, i seriously could barley walk. aaron left for work at 3:30 am and i didnt want to worry him. i thought i would just take more pain pills. i started to feel sick like i needed to eat, so i slowly crawled out of bed and went to eat some ceral it was 5:00 am. i started to sweat and throw up. i woke my ds and said take me to the hospital.

today was one of the worst days of my life. i was poked so much and my stomach is sore you couldnt even look at it. the x-rays wernt to bad but the u/s had my bawling. i have a very high tollerance for pain, for me to cry it was bad. they put a stincking catheder in me, filled it w/water and took this huge ######( not really but thats what it looked like) and she kept pushing down on the catheder. OMG it hurt. then to top it all off i puked 7 times!!!!! from all the meds they gave me. i was droggy i coudlnt sleep and felt every stickin bump when they wheeled me around.

they didnt give me any "REAL" reasons why i was in pain other than my ovaries where as big as grapefruits (no joke) and they have a theory that they got so big they twisted and caused the blood supply to be limited. they gave me bunch of meds including a steriod, and i follow up w/ my fertility dr tomorrow and to top that i am constipated. HELP!!!

Hello, Ladies.

Of the 10 eggs that were retrieved, 6 fertilized. They will give me a call on Friday to let me know whether ET will be Saturday or Monday. If I'm remembering right, they said if the transfer is Saturday, it's because the embryos are not developing all that well, so they'll go ahead and put them back in because they would have a better chance inside. Also if they put them back on Saturday, they would put a little nick in the outer shell, so that the embryo could attach inside the uterus. If they go with a Monday transfer it's because the embryos are growing really well and by Monday, the outer shell would shed on its own and they wouldn't have to put the nick in it. Does that sound right?

Vickie: I'm hoping your 2 embies are getting really comfortable for their 9-month stay.

EMS: Glad you're gaining that PMA again. I'm sure everything will be fine.

Aunty: LOL that you tried to leave after you woke up from the EC! I'm picturing this groggy woman fighting with the nurses to get up and go home...too funny!

Fed: Happy for you that you received a good report and everything looks good. Way to go on injecting your self; I'm sorry you're feeling crappy, though. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Nouna: Welcome to the board. I don't think there is any need to be afraid of ER. I was nervous going in, but I didn't feel a thing. The doc told me she was just inserting the speculum and was going to flush out the uterus. I felt her put in the speculum and I felt the squirts of fluid, and the next thing I knew the nurse was saying "wake up" and I was in a whole other room. I didn't really have really bad cramping afterward, either. Doc gave me a prescription for percoset, but I didn't have to use it. I only used xtra strength tylenol and that was enough. So, I hope this eases your mind. It should be a piece of cake.

Shantala: I know its disappointing that you can't start now. Just hang in there a little while longer and you'll be on your way.

jodic: Congratulations on the six embies. About your pain and discomfort -OUCH! You were so descriptive in your writing that I was sitting her cringing as I read your post. I'm so sorry you're in so much pain I wish there was something I could do for you. I'm sending you lots of hugs and hoping you're feeling better in a hurry.

Cinny: My what a great friend you have. I don't know that I could say any of my friends would do that for me. You're lucky to have such a person in your life.

Charlie: Good luck on your stimming journey. I'm excited for you!

Jodic, I'm sorry to hear you're in so much pain. I was also in heaps of pain prior to and after egg collection, much more than I expected but I was told it was also because of my massive ovaries and the fact that they had been poked around a bit. It even hurt to walk and speed bumps in the car were a killer! At the time I swore I would never do another fresh cycle. The pain gradually subsided after a few days. I hope that the same happens for you, hang in there!

OMG Jodi that sounds awfull its also sounds like OHSS to me watch your breathing ok if it gets hard to breath you have to go to the hospital as for the scan i know when i got near to EC it was really painful to have a scan so i can imagine what it was like...i truly hope you feel better soon ...big hugs i cant tell you too clearly OHSS in a sever form can be very dangerous so make sure your very careful dont brush anything aside take it seriously ok...done nagging

Silva yep sounds right to me that nick in your eggs is called assisted hatching i have that on my little ones because of my age (might have crusty shells<<<< not the technical term ...LOL) but yeah its supposed to help lazy embies get out of the shell its more of a just incase so cant hurt and if your embies get to day 5/6 then usually they are emerging by themselves....

phx, you had asked if anyone was taking Cabergoline. I've been taking it since November, but I was told my prolactin levels were too high and this medicine was to reduce those prolactin levels (hormone that produces breast milk). I take it twice a week and am supposed to take it until I get a BFP.

Sorry I can't help with your question b/c you're taking it for a different reason, but just wanted you to know that I've been taking it as well. It makes me really stuffy and have a runny nose all the time.

Shantala, I am sorry that you have to wait. Before we started this cycle, we had to wait an extra two weeks, talk about torture. I kept telling my husband, the play by play on what could have been happening that week if we did the first January Cycle at the clinic. The time will be here before you know it, but OMG the wait sucks!

Phxivf, 11 is a great number for fertilization!! Way to go!

wendy1969, the HPT could be valid from the transfer day, not the ovulation date. But the risk with HPTs is that if it inaccurately says BFN, you may stop taking your meds, while all you needed to do was stay on them and then the pregnancy would be supported. It has ahppend at my clinic before and they actually started another cycle and then they found out she was pregnant after the ultrasound to check her lining. She declined the blood test because the HPT said BFN.

We went in for our follicle count today and there are about 24 growing well. We are not ready to trigger yet, but my doctor thinks we should be doing the ER on Monday. I am excited, but I feel like I am waddling like a duck (which I am). It is a bit sad when I catch a glance of my reflection when I walk past mirrors, lol.

I cringed when I read your story earlier. So sorry you are in so much pain. It really does sound like hyperstim. As Aunty says..you must keep a close eye on that just in case honey.

I have 17 at the moment. 12 mature and 5 hanging behind a little. I still have 2 more days of stims to go. I think I will have another scan tmrw (to be confirmed by RE later). I should be having op on Monday but will know for sure tmrw.

i'm trying not to get too excited but... i asked my clinic whether it is possible that if my scan and trial transfer goes ok on tuesday (day 11 of my cycle) whether i can then start downregging with day 21 of the same cycle. originally they said no and then said i would have to check with the nurse manager...well i called them on wednesday and they said they would call me back and they didnt so i just assumed its not possible. however, they called me back today and said it might be possible. they said i could find out when i meet with the consultant (on the 30th jan). i said that i'm doubtful as i would have to start downregging 3 days later (on the 3rd feb) and i guess i wouldnt get the meds in time but she said if they can fit me in then i should be able to buy the nasal spray off them to last me until i get my meds. but it all depends on whether or not they can fit me in.

so......i'm trying not to get too excited but i'm hopeful!! i'm preparing myself for march but if its feb after all then great.
