Thanks Debra for all the answers (or attempts). I'm still in for Thurs, and like you, I'll still do moderate exercize.
And thanks Traci for all the great details and tips about bean soup and what to expect with side effects. Smart idea on the soup. I'll do that too.
BigJ - cool that you're joining us! You have no bad habits but wine, so this should be a cinch for you!!! And you are a tower of strength for staying off the cigs!!!! I have so much respect for anyone who can kick that habit. I know many, otherwise strong people, who couldn't do it. You da bomb!!!
And, since Traci was the originator of this detox frenzy, maybe she will be gracious enough to help lead us too?????
Oh, and one more thing... Sandra, thanks so much for the tinnitus info. YES, I should at least learn to spell it right if I have the condition.

Ok Girls - tomorrow is the day! In regards to exercise I think the issue is that your body will be going through changes so the no exercise tip is to not stress it out. I think moderate exercise is OK...I still did a lot of walking last time (up and down hills). The wine is tough but you will feel better. I also found dairy to be a tough one as well...I love cheese.
Just remember ..although it is difficult..it is not that long and visualize how your body is getting better -internally.
I am driving back to Munich tomorrow so will do my shopping there...hopefully the Autobahns aren't closed so that I can actually get to Munich
Any suggestions on how to keep each other motivated?..I suggest we focus on the positive side of things.
have read Debra post on another thread, so have come for a gab.
I have been eating Zita's FSH diet for 3 days....Cabbage, onions beans and pulses...DF says I absolutly stink of GARLIC!!!! (I have been roasting full cloves them in the oven with onions..)
Have had no alcohol since Frid...this is the hard bit cos I am going away for 4 days next week a short break in the borders of Scotland.
I haven't managed to cut of coffee yet but have 1 cup a day the rest of the time hot water with lemon. I still have banging headaches from the down regulation 6 weeks ago.so don't want to cut coffee out as the headaches are bad enough.
This liver detox sounds good.... will give it a go...sorry that sounds negative ...i'll re-phrase... would love to take part in this with you girls if that's okay?
The exercise bit will be a bit of a problem as I have multiple sclerosis... will do what i can though.
Girls
You all make me feel guilty as I keep meaning to do this detox and it would be great to join in and have some support. The only trouble is I am going away today until monday so not much chance. I would love to hear how you all get on and naybe you can give me some tips on the best way forward when I get back!!!
Good Luck to you all it looks tough
Ellie - It is really tough being away and doing the detox..so I don't blame you at all...in fact it gets almost impossible. You really need to do it when you know you will be home with no social engagements.
Wel I've nothing but admiration for you guys - I don't think I could do a detox, exercise is ok. You must let me know how it goes. i've still got a bit to go to trmt so may pluck up the courage to do it
Good luck to those on the detox. Not sure if i'm ready for that yet, but the healthy eating thing is going really well, even DH is doing it and is feeling the benefits. I'm sure other people must think we are really boring, as we are sticking to the no alcohol, no caffeine thing. It is worth trying right?
Hi there, yes Yvee - it is definitely worth trying!
People not sure about detoxing now, why not just join us in a week of healthy eating and tell us how you're doing.
I've spent a bomb today stocking up on beans, brown rice, lentils, cabbage, fruit, spelt museli, all salady bits, whole oat porrage, soy + rice milk, detox tea, organic apple juice, dates, walnuts, white fish, lemons, organic yoghurt. DF has watched with amazement as I staggered out of shop after shop laden down.
But having said that, I've just had a bomb dropped on me. DF has organised a fabulous meal out on Saturday, with DD staying overnight at MIL's. Each course (5) comes with a new wine. We've been twice before (a once a year treat). I need to be practical here. I will do the detox to the letter except Saturday night, I will add an extra limited list food day to help balance out the over-indulgence. Trouble is DF wants this meal this weekend before I start downregging as he knows it's another worst case scenario, 2 months or best case, 18m until I'll have a glass of wine again.
I'm going plan my food tomorrow to help stop reaching for the usual food.
hugs
Debra.

oh and Smita, the pool is 25m so 50 lengths is only 1.25kms. No swimming today but I had to jog at the physio's and later helped DF take down an interior wall and then carry all the lumber down the garden stairs to the garage...more than enough exercise!

just updating having read the Zita detox I am going to join you, but we have visitors from the Uk this weekend, an old work friend of mine and his wife. I am sure I am not going to be able to resist alcohol for the whole weekend, so I am going to start with you all tomorrow, and like D take some time out at the weekend, re-join properly on Monday. Why not wait til Monday ?? no, I want to get going, and although it wont be "pure" I am sure I can adapt what I eat accordingly....
Anything that involves being healthier can only be good..and I would so like to lose another 5kg before the next cycle.
Love and hugs to us all

Debra, you inspire us all. I like your grocery list, I think I'll use it when I go today. Too bad about the special evening clashing with the detox, but sounds like you've found a sensible way to do both. (Our dhs need and deserve our flexibility during these IVF years - they have a tough role to play.)
Jen,
I feel like I've been missing something. So on top of everything else, Zita has a specific fsh-level reducing diet???? I really need to quit stalling and just get the book!. Can you share the highlights of that?
So who's in on the detox now? Is this correct:
Debra
Traci
BigJ
Jen
Randa
Did I miss anyone?
Woo Hoo! Roll on detox week!
When I start to think how hard it will be, I stop and think "It's only a week for goodness sake!" And I think about how good I'll feel a week from now.

Randa, Zita doesn't have a specific FSH diet as such but does make some recommendations. Get the book honey! I can't live with it. For reducing FSH she suggests (one day she'll log on here and sue Sandra and I for copyright infringements lol)......
* detox
* see a herbalist
* take a daily B-complex supplement
* take 1000mg essential fatty acids daily
* eat pulses, onions and garlic + cabbage
* eat pulses, linseeds, alfalfa sprouts, oats, cabbage + (bean?)sprouts.
+
* take regular, gentle exercise
* lose excess weight
* meditate + use deep breathing techniques.
re. the detox. I think it should be relatively OK except for the wine, which many of us find HUGELY enjoyable and thus a pain to give up. I'm lucky I don't do the coffee thing but I do love my tea, bread, cheese and yoghurts. I've pushed the boat out already tonight - champange + sushi + sex + chocolate....I'm ready for a week of purity!! Bring it on.....

Hi Debra, Tracii, BigJ, Randa, randarandolph are we the 'The Detox Demons' ? What do you think?
Big Hi to Eskavon, Yvee, Ellie, Sand, Smita and everyone else being fit.
ready to start dextoxing??
I bought all my supplies too. porrage oats, oily fish, onions cabbage, peas, cod liver oil capsules, lacto acidophilus capsules and loads of alfalfa sprouts, which are great in a salad. I've been wheat free for 6 months so been on rice cakes and oat cakes don't know if i can still eat them .
randarandolph: it was Debra that told me about it so I bought the book on Amazon and 2 days later there it was. On pg 128-129 of fertility and conception Zita talks about raised FSH levels. She states that' the diet is very important as well as lifestyle factors. In summary:
1. DETOX PROGRAMME- min of 2lrts of water ( bottled or filtered) , cut down salt. avoid coffee, tea sugary and carbonated drinks. DRINK HOT WATER & LEMON INSTEAD.
2. Constult a qualified herbalist. to regulate daily supplement of Agustus castus which help lower elevated FSH levels.
3. Take a vit B complex 50mg B6 and zinc supplement to regulate hormones.
4.take 1000mg of essential fatty acids evening prim oil or fish oil.
5. Eat pulses onions and garlic to break down E2 (oestrogen). cabbage to increase the rate the liver converts E2 into waste.
6. Eat foods containing PHYTO-OESTROGENS- such as PULSES, LINSEEDS,ALPHLFA SPROUTS, OATS, CABBAGE, and SPROUTS.
this balances hormones.
This fsh diet is very similar to detox diet. and after re-reading the detox diet it SOUNDS LIKE IT'S VERY MUCH FART FOOD TO ME... DF is sooo gonna be making my farty bum sleep in the spare room.
The things we woman go through eh?!!!! Just keep thinking of that bundle of joy at the end...What we do today is gonna help the FSH and eggs then so be it.....GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
Also will check in with you all later tomorrow night or friday morn. Am having a meal at friends thurs night. No alcohol!!!! They were ok about the diet gratefully they are cooking me grilled fish and brown rice with broccolli.
