Jackie: so glad to hear that you are on track for Feb. Sending you an AF jig!

Lisa: thanks for the slide show link. It is beautiful. have no one i need to show it to now, but saved the link for a later time. Congrats on your ER, i am sorry that you were disappointed with 10. I am hoping good fert #s for you tomorrow!! You have been through so much, and i am hoping that your perfect little baby/babies is/are getting fertilized as we speak.

Mom20: glad you went in and got it checked out. You never know what could be happening considering all we put our bodies through!!! Glad to hear it is nothing serious.

Ange: Glad you took some time out to spend w/dh. sounds like it was a very good thing for you! Feelin' really dense here, but i am wondering... i know you had your baseline today, but everyones timetable is different. So when do you start stims? Just trying to get straight in my mind exactly where you are in cycle.

Arizonakiwi: wow, you have had quite the delays... and have emerged with a great attitude, and probably tons of patience. Brava! I doubt i would have been that strong. Also... "the first shot is the hardest, baby, i know, the first shot is the hardest"... ok, not exactly sheryl crow, but true, no? Well done (and giving it to yourself!)!

Shantala: gl tomorrow on baseline and trial ET. Hope you "slide through" w/o any problems!

Nouna: oh, and the bloating begins  . It means good things are happening! As for your stim days question... on my cycles i stimmed for 11, 10 and 8 days, not including day off btwn trigger and ER. From what i have read, most women stim 8-10 days. happy stimming!!!!

tc: your response to your "knocked up" fish made me giggle  !
Thanks!

charlie: lookin' good! Your #s look great. What did RE's office tell you, did they increase your meds?

Aunty: what is MIW? That is one i haven't heard before. as for your fish tank water... could you bottle it for me????

Fed: so lots just under 10mm? So 2-3 days of stims left, then day off? Like someone already posted, the follicles grow 1-2mm per day. In addition, RE also told me that the HCG can give them a little surge. so pretty good odds that a number of them will catch up! Good luck!

EMS: Congrats on your 3 healthy ones!! We are both ET'ing on Thurs... i am feeling good vibes!!!

Phx: congrats on your ET today! I can't seem to remember if you said how many they were transferring? Enjoy your "princess status"!

Cook: how are you?? How was ER today. Hoping you are recovering nicely.

As for all you british lassies... what do you all think about big brother? been hearing rumblings about it over here. Do tell!

As for the EIGHT of you w/snarky dhs.... just don't let yours near mine... don't want it rubbin' off  ! Hoping their "PMS" ends soon!

My bw was good today, just waiting for call from RE re: how my frosties thawed overnight. Question... my ET is scheduled for thurs, but apparently they thawed them last night (frozen on day 2). So do they take 24 hrs to thaw? o/w not sure why my ET wouldn't be sooner. I am assuming they consider today the continuation of day 2? Having not done this before, have no clue. Will ask RE, but in meantime, anyone know?

Hoping everyone is well!

This is a long one…

As for my ER today, it went very interestingly. I found the name of (yet) another condition that I have, that I did not realize that I had. It is called Noctournal Vagal Syndrome. Basically what is means is that when I am in extreme pain, my heart slows down and sometimes stops. But the kicker is that it is related to cervical pain for me only. In general, I have a very high tolerance for pain, and I am a pro at getting injections and giving blood, but if my cervix is touched, even if gently, I am sent in a tizzy.

TMI warning….
I start to salivate, sweat profusely, I have to urinate, defecate and vomit (TMI, I am sorry). I am unable to remain conscious when it happens and all I need to do is sleep, even if for 5-10 minutes.

END TMI Warning… :?
So the good news is that I will be seeing a cardiologist after we complete the IVF procedures, the bad news is that I may need a pacemaker. So of this, I will keep everyone updated. But to be quite honest, I am glad that we decided to go through the IVF, because if we did not try this, I would have no clue about why my cervical pain response is this extreme. God works in mysterious ways…

We did the ER and I felt nothing during the process, but after I recovered, I passed out in the bathroom. We cannot figure out why because my heart rate did not drop nor accelerate.

The embryologist called me this afternoon to tell us that they were able to perform ICSI on 21 of the eggs. They got 29, 7 were immature and one did not survive the wash. So we will be getting a call from them tomorrow morning letting us know how many survived. Sorry it took so long for me to put an update, but I just came home a slept the whole day.

Lara312, Mom20, Tcbalgord, Beachbaby, Becleo Thank you!

Shantala, I am glad for you, I hope it all goes well tomorrow!

AuntyPebbles, strangely enough I dream in color, but there is usually one dominant color.

Macca8, that is great to hear that it went well today for you!

Ems1971, it sounds like they did something right by getting one more, that is great!

Macca8, Ems1971, I prayed for all of us today and will keep doing so until we give birth :D

Fed7281, if all goes according to plan on my end, we will be recuperating at the same time! Congrats on the follicles!!!

Nouna, I was stimms for 10 days before they triggered me.

Phxivf, congrats and have a stress free 2ww!

Hi Sassy,

I started stimms today. I'll be taking delestrogen, ganirelix, follistim, menopur and a suppository over the next 13 days. Same protocol as last time with a minor adjustment of adding Lovenox which is a blood thinner. Dr. said my protocol is pretty aggressive (my age ugh!) So excited for your ET on Thursday. hugs! Not sure the rules for frosties, I have one frozen which I will be using with the fresh cycle this time around. Do you know if they can do pgd testing on frozen? Are you doing pgd testing?

hugs,
Ange

Cook OMG wow you did really well on your eggs way to go, as for your condition i take it your going to have to go in very early and have a Csection can you even imagine what would happen if you went into labour but at least you have a solution to it
how did you know about this was it after a pap test?, as for TMI i think we pretty much talk about anything so no need to appologise
i hope you dont have to have a pace maker with it being so narrowly related to your cervix surly everyday life wouldnt effect you sending prayers and sweet dreams tonight really looking forward to your Embie count tomorrow

I don't think we've spoken before but I have to say that that is a most exotic sounding condition!!! I think you should win a prize for that one... It is amazing what IVf can unearth vis a vis our health....but definatley much better to know about the health probs than not.

Well done on your EC, sounds like a great result to me...Fingers crossed for excellent fert rates.

Hi Ange hope you dont mind me replying but i looked into PDG was thinking about it for us...and from what i read you cant do PDG either on embies you plan to freeze or on previously frozen embies

Sassy i will send you some water no problem...as for your embies i think they would consider today day 2 for your embies, maybe frozen ones dont start to progress for a day after thaw, so you will be having a day 5 transfer it sounds to me like they are looking to transfer blasts? sending prayers to your little ones lets hope they are doing really well...oh yeah Mommy In Waiting MIW

lots of love to all Aunty

Aunty..

Of course I don't mind you replying sweetie!

I meant to ask my Dr. today about testing frosties, but completely forgot. Thanks for the info, I might just ask him anyway for grins and giggles. I guess if it survives the thaw, I can only pray it's healthy.

cook: wow, 21 eggs! You go girl! 39 follicles was it? The waddling was worth it, huh? Hope you'll start to feel a little better soon. I'm hoping you get many healthy embies as well.

I'm confused on how you found out about the Noctournal condition...It sounds like you found out during EC, but how in the world did they figure that out? You are correct that God works in mysterious ways. I'm glad you found out about this when you did because it sounds really serious, especially since your heart can sometimes stop. At least you know about it now. I'm thankful for that for you.

Take care of yourself and I can't wait to read your embie count...

SilvaCharm, it just so happened that an earlier incident a few months ago at the clinic, (the ultrasound with the catheter and my extreme pain response), made my Dr to talk to other people about it and by coincidence, my anesthesiologist’s daughter was just diagnosed with the same thing. She basically told me all of my symptoms when it is bad and it is the same thing her daughter goes through. Weird, huh?

Since the anesthesiologist was confident that that is what I had, she had to do a little different protocol, they actually sped up my heart a little and during the ET, they will give me different meds to help with my blood pressure and heart rate. Other than the fainting at the end, I had no problems with the EC.

The waddling was very well worth it! I am glad this part is over for now, I just am looking forward to getting the ET over with!

Cook: glad to hear things went well egg-wise. Scary about the passing out! So great that anesthesiologist was familiar w/your condition and was able to tailor your tmt. Very cool! I am hoping that you are feeling better now.

Ange, Aunty: We have decided not to do PGD this time. i asked RE about it a few weeks ago (feeling like i couldn't take much more of this, and was looking for ways to possibly spare myself any unnecessary disappointment). I was thinking that i wouldn't be able to do pgd since they were frozen. RE sounded like we could do it on our 2pn frosties if we wanted, but he strongly advised against it. He said he would make a lot of money if we did it, but his goal was to get me preg, and as a result, he felt that the risk of losing nl embies was too high. Having done pgd before, we know that the vast majority of our embryos are abnl, and do not grow well. In our case he had a good point re: just letting them grow, as we have yet to have any grow strongly to blast. I think we could do it only b/c our embryos were frozen at 2pn, not as blasts. Anyway, blah, blah, blah. (at least through all this i found out that i have a RE that will really be honest w/me and isn't just out for the money  ). So ange, guess it would depend on if your embryo was frozen at 2pn or as a blast.

aunty: you are right! (not that i am surprised  ). just talked to RE and he said today is considered day 2. That now makes sense as i am to have a blast transfer.

RE says that 8 of our 12 ferts survived the thaw. he seemed pretty happy w/it, but i was not expecting so many would be lost. DH says he is sure that those that were lost must have been the weakest ones... i am trying to hold on to that and it is (kind of  ) keeping me calm. The big test will be how they do tomorrow... as it is at day 3 that we have lost nearly all embryos in the past.

Well done Cook - what big day for you yesterday. Rest up now and look forward to hearing about your embies.

Ange - good on you for starting stims - will be waiting for your updates.

Arizonakiwi - just wanted to say thanks for reminding me that the guys do find it hard too. Sometimes I do lose sight of it. DH and I had a bit of a heart to heart last night - he is hurting although he buries his head in the sand. There is male factor involved in our IVF treatment and he hasn't quite got over this. Not sure what I can do about it as he is not keen to speak to anyone/counsellors .... still we will soldier on.

Sassy - good luck matey - posted on the other thread for you.

Well ladies - I have given myself the afternoon off and I am off to try acupuncture for the first time - - thought I'd better jump on the band wagon - so many of you ladies swear by it!

Morning all...

Well, surprisingly I slept well last night - I am sure they gave me more sedative yesterday, I wasn't like that last time!! It was only when I woke up about 6am that I started to feel sick with nerves!

Anyway, clinic have just rung and two out of our three fertilised. One just didn't take. I suppose I have real mixed feeling this time. I had hoped so much all 3 would fert and we would have a bit more of a pick this time, but on the other hand we still have two, which is no less than the last time, and like you lovely ladies keep telling me' (altogether now....) IT ONLY TAKES ONE!!!! Seriously though, it IS good news isn't it...?
(Think I need some encouragement...) I read about lots of you getting all these eggs and I suppose I feel a bit inadequate... :(

Lisa - can't wait to hear how you got on honey....xxx

Cook - OMG! You poor thing...! What a massive day for you yesterday. I hope you are doing ok and getting your rest. Let us know how many embies you get. xxx

Will post again soon ladies.

Love to you all

Emma - I've been waiting for you to reply! 2 ferts is great - way to go! Sending you lots of sticky baby dust to you for ET. And you know it - it does only take one!!!!!!! LOL.

Sassy - keeping everything crossed for you that all your ferts make it past day 3! Hopefully they will be snuggling in back home soon! TC LOL!

Cook - OMG you poor love! better to find out now though! Good luck with ET - sending you lots of sticky baby dust.

As for me, doctor didn't ring so carrying on with same dosage (4 amps of menopur) I have another appointment Wednesday so maybe if they still haven't grown they will up me then! I had my sacn yesterday in the room where they will actually do the EC/ET which freaked me out a little  . Getting quite nervous now - I know a lot of you have said that it is a breeze but I think I have read too may other horror stories on other websites!
More encouraging stories would be greatfully received!
