Leora: When I look at the test quickly and without thinking, my eyes see a very faint line. When I study it, I don't see it. How odd.

yeah.... 2 more tests since coming home from work -- definitely BFN. Damn. I'm trying not to get too disappointed. My eyes play such evil tricks on me.

I'll test again over the next few days.

Will Thursday (8dp5dt) be too early to get a blood test to definitively say BFN?

Leora- you are too stinkin' cute! I would think Friday would be ok, I don't know, I've just heard that 14 days total is the right time to test. Plus, I heard that beta levels are lower with FET's than with fresh IVF's....not sure if that is true, but I've always heard that and if it's true, then the longer the better to wait, but still keep peeing all over your sticks at least 2 times per day  Good times! So at first I was looking at the place where the plastic was, but then I still swear I saw a faint pink line.

Gina- I'm praying for you and your family. You know, grief can be so weird. Everyone deals with grief differently, and sometimes, the same person can deal with it differently depending on what their life is like when they are dealing with it. just be patient with yourself and everyone else and know that it's ok to deal with it anyway that you deal with it. I know when my Grandmother died 3 years ago (dec 22nd), it was strange, I cried, but not like I thought and it was almost a shock thing.

Maria- I am keeping you and your whole familly in my prayers as well. How are you feeling since your procedure?

AFM- So I totally can't do the shots on myself, but after a wonderful and great conversation with my husband yesterday, we are taking that stress off of my shoulders and he is not going to go out of town for Thanksgiving, he's going to stay right here with me. He really didn't want to leave while we were going through all of this, but I thought he did, so I was pushing it. Oh well, it's all ending the way it should anyway :) Now, question for anyone that has been on Lupron.....did it give you headaches? I've been a little more emotional, but not crazy looney emotional (yet), but dang, I've had a headache(not horrible, but still, I'm not used to constant headaches) since Friday. I'm just assuming that it's the Lupron since I didn't add the Menopur until Saturday and the Follistim never gave me headaches last time and we didn't start that one until Saturday either. Anyway, other than feeling a little woozy right after my shots, but it goes away within 5 minutes, and then the darn headaches, all is well. I have my first SnS tomorrow. Oh, ok, other side effect, EVERYTHING that usually gets on my nerves, WORSE.....there are things that typically make me nuts, but I can deal, but now, nope, not dealing....

Hi everyone! Image

I am so glad you guys remember me still! ...By the way, my country’s name is CYPRUS and not Cyrus or Cypres! Or Cypresa  you girls really got me laughing though!

Rosie- HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! That is an awesome beta my friend! I am SO happy for you!! Image

Leora- Thank you for your wishes. Oh honey! I really hope you get a darker line tomorrow! Keep on poas! You have so many cheerleaders here!!! Including myself of course!...7yrs to wait for adoption! That is wayyyy too long! Why does it has to be so f**** difficult! I wish you get your biological babies so you don’t need to adopt. I always get my beta 15days after ER counting day 1 as the day following ER. But I don’t believe that you can’t get a beta on 14th day. I am really hoping for a positive beta for you my friend! (hugs) Image

Sunshine- Thank God we are nothing like Greece situation! About the kids shop, I was just helping a friend to get it open. She will be running it with her MIL. The name of the shop and the french brand is “Petit Bateau” (little boat) You can search it on the internet if you want to! Cool baby stuff. I went there last thursday to buy the cutest raincoat ever for one of my Godsons, Nicholas. He has turned 7 on Friday :) ...about adoption, I don’t feel we are there yet. Even if DH agrees on that I, we are not ready to take that step. If is God’s will, I would like to give it a couple of times more with IVF and then look into other options. Is not an easy decision to make but If I ever come across this being my only option then I will take it. but then again with a newborn and not a grown up child...sorry if I sound bad with this but I would love to have that experience of growing a baby from kinda day one of coming to life.....I am SO sorry that Belles is going to move away. I know how much you love her and you two have a special connection. Let’s just hope she doesn’t get to move too far from your place. I would throw her a big fair well party!

Kerpupples – How was vegas?! Visiting Las Vegas is one of my wish destinations! DH got his first degree in Tampa Florida and he has been to Vegas, so he promised to take me there sometime soon... Image

Kala- Yes I do live in Cyprus. We are currently on a break from IVF and hopefully we will give it a go in 2012. After 7 failed cycles my DH and I just couldn’t face another BFN and so we decided that we give it a rest. After all, we have been trying nonstop for 2yrs so I guess my body can take a little time off from the meds and needles. We are paying from our pockets so that doesn’t make it easier. There is NO insurance that covers IVF in my country. My DH was taking a supplement called “Wellman Conception” it is an advanced formula including Lycopene, Maca, AminoAcids, Zing, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid etc, etc. It is known to help maintain male reproductive health supporting conception. It was prescribed by my RE and it costs only 15euro. (30 tablets) So, about my clinic, I have used 2 fertility clinics and even though I haven’t got a BFP so far, I can only say the best words for both clinics, starting from the doctors to the nurses and the rest of their team. Clinic No.1 is called “ISIS” and Clinic No.2 is called “Pedieos”.

Julia- I am sorry about your cyst...my RE spotted one during my last IVF and he just removed it on the ER day. It wasn’t something to worry about he told me. I hope everything goes well for you.

LauraN- Don’t you worry about the needles. You will get used to them eventually you’ll see! :D I was afraid too at the beginning and even though my DH wanted to do them (it was his way of being involved to the procedure) but there were times that I had to do them by myself and it wasn’t as bad as i expected. It is mostly the idea of the needle rather than the injection it’s self

Bodie- I am so happy that the twins are looking good! Hearing those heartbeats must have been the best thing ever! What an experience! ...try not to stress out and live the moment! You are pregnant with healthy babies so just lay back and enjoy the ride mama! :D Image

Ninde- Yes! My carrot cake was amazing and that picture I posted on my last post shows an amazing cake BUT It wasn’t my own cake’s picture. I just copy and paste it from photobucket! He! He! But my cake looked very similar to that one! :D ....You finish your Xmas shopping! Seriously!!! WHO are you! Santa! I haven’t even made my list! You sure prepare wayy ahead girl! Good for you! Image

Amanda- How did your appt go today? I hope you got some good news from your RE! I don’t think they will say no to you for not paying right away your next FET. All clinics make easy payments when asked. Both clinics I’ve worked with made things easier for us. And they even suggested it not us. Good luck! Image

Blueeyedreamer- I hope you already feel better dear and the cramps have stopped. Hang in there. Good days are coming your way! ((hugs)) Image

Maria- I pray that your son recovers and find peace soon. You are both in my prayers. I am glad the surgery went well. Take a good rest now. ((hugs)) Image

Blessed- WOOHOO for a rising beta!!! :D Congratulations on your pregnancy my friend!!! :D Image

Neffi- We don’t have a black Friday in my part of the world, nor we celebrate Thanksgiving but I will go ahead and celebrate with you guys this year! Why not! Cooking and shopping are two of my favourite things!....even though my DH believes that these kind of holidays have losts their meaning and now is all about Consumerism! ... I heard about Viagra giving a boost to the endo lining. Hope it works for you girl! :D I have asked my RE last year when I first read about it and he told me that it is used in cases where the lining is way too thin. My lining has always been 11-12 so I didn’t need it.

Hopethisworks- Those are fantastic news honey!!!! Looks like it did worked! “...a little heart flittering...” sounds wonderful!!!! Keep up the good work mama!Image

Kiminsh- Don’t you give up yet! I am crossing my fingers for you!!! Image

Gina- I am so sorry for your loss! :( My grandmother (mom’s side) died at the age of 94 and it is SO hard not having her around. She had total control of her body and mind till the day she died. She died from pneumonia...it’s been 9yrs now and I miss her so much...may she RIP...looks like your cousin has no courtesy of others people feelings. how unthoughtfull! :x That is sad. I am sorry you have to find out that way... ((hugs)) Image

Fruit- Hey girl! How are you? I have sent you a PM a couple of days ago have you seen it? I hope I have answered all your questions. Good luck with everything! :D

AFM- I was digging out my Xmas decorations today :D ...OMG! I forgot how much I’ve got! And to think that I was thinking of buying a few more stuff...I am planning on decorating my Xmas tree on Friday and I am excited! I just LOVE Xmas!! A colleague/friend of my DH is coming over for dinner and to watch a football game on Wednesday night. Saturday night we have friends visiting over and I need to have my Xmas deco on to the last detail! Ugh! Sometimes I hate being a perfectionist! Two of our friends are visiting from another town and they are bringing our 9 month Goddaughter Zoi. They are staying over. Also, two more friend couples are coming so it’s going to be a pre Xmas gathering around the fire place. It is exactly what we need right now to start celebrating Xmas. I need to think of the menu....hmm!

Baby dust to us all!

Hello my long lost friends,

So after taking a break because of our crazy donor egg cycle (to recap, $12,000 gifted to us by a friend, and only 1 frickin embryo with a BFN) we have had 9 beautiful grade 1 and 2 embryos donated to us through our clinic. The donors conceived twins 5 years ago and are finished building their family. So we're scheduled for a FET with donor embryos for sometime mid - late Dec. So we're back on the emotional roller coaster again.

I'm sorry I haven't kept up with any of you. I really needed to distance myself and give myself a break. We also just found out that the known sperm donor who we were using, who is very close in our family, is expecting. Well his girlfriend is expecting. So it's a double whammy in that it wasn't planned (can you believe people actually still get pregnant the old fashioned way?) and I was supposed to be pregnant with his sperm, not her. I guess the "let's make a baby energy" landed on her and not me. So that's been a tough pill to swallow too. And trying to be happy for them. I love him fiercely...so trying to be excited for them, when I'm crushed on the inside is really difficult. And of course because I'm studying to be a midwife, they are asking me all kinds of questions.

However, I think the timing is perfect. Because of this drama my husband and I said to each other to take him off of the table as a sperm donor. And we weren't sure which direction to go in next. We decided we needed some 'us' time so we both scheduled last Wednesday off and we spent the entire day in bed together. I highly recommend this form of healing ;)!!! We were really loving each other, and at a break in the fun, we both had to check email to make sure there were no work catastrophes, and that's when I got the email that there were 9 embryos available for donation. So in my own spiritual kind of way, I think that spirit was called to us through our love for each other, and has found a way to us. I know the things we tell ourselves to give ourselves hope! But it's working for me.

So now the question is, do we transfer one or two? I really don't want twins, too risky for my situation. But I want to increase the odds. But I am soooo grateful to this anonymous couple who wants to give another couple a chance.

I'm looking forward to catching up with all of you and seeing where you all are in your journeys! Hoping the BFPs have been rolling in. I'll have to check the latest roll call!

Sending love and baby dust to all,
Indigo

I'm trying to figure that out too? Today we are 28 days after a 5 day transfer. Logic would tell me that is about 33 days pregnatn or almost 5 weeks... Doctor told us on Friday that we're about 6 weeks??? He knows when the transfer was! To calculate how many weeks, is it simply the number of weeks since ER?

But, on the day of transfer, aren't you automatically 2 weeks prego? So then it would be 7 weeks....geez, it's all too confusing...ha! Go to one of those calculators and it will tell you how far along you are, but do one that is an IVF calculator...don't they have one on this board? What was the day of ER?

Hello ladies

Leorira: thanks a million for your photobucket help :D Maybe fri for a definitive test? Will that be 12 days?

LauraN: I know I didnt use lupron as we use a nasal spray but its similar and i got headaches. Drink lots and lots of water it will help.

Sunshine: oh those abs :D black fri sounds absolutely crazy!!!

Anton: oh I laughed when i read your post :) I love christmas but i hate crowds so I do things early. And it sounds like you are going to have a very business social whirl before christmas :D

Indigo: hello again :) That sounds like absolutely wonderful news. When will you transfer? And is it ok to ask why twins would be too risky?

Hopethisworks: my clinic counts thentwonweeks prior to transfer as the official start of pregnancy

Maria: how are you?

To all the other ladies: neffi, kala, bodie, rosie, julia, jayne, lyd, amy, fruit, gina, kiminish, blessed, blue, amanda - I hope you are all doing well

Hi Leora, damn I was really hoping you'd be seeing a BFP by now. But frozens betas are slower, so it's too early still. The blast needs a little more time to get going after freeze. I hope you see something towards the end of the week. Damn, I am really wishing this cycle was the one for you. I kinda felt that if you could break the curse on your frozens, I could break the curse on my fresh ones. Come on, the guy upstairs, give a girl a break already!!

I think you'll see it on Thursday

I don't know much about the beta rate for frozen or fresh. I had an FET and got my +hpt at 5dpt, BUT I had twins. I think that may have made a difference. Regardless, Leora, I am hoping and wishing hard for you!!!!! I want to see a BFP!

Here is the link for the due date calculators. http://www.ivf.ca/duedatecalculators.htm
It has options for FET 3 and 5 day transfers, etc. I found it informative. It breaks down the entire pregnancy.

LauraN- I had RAGING headaches with Lupron.

Indigo- Congrats on getting the embryos! That's super exciting!

Maria- Thinking of you.

Gina- I'm sorry for the loss of your grandmother.

Sorry for those I missed. I have to head to bed. These early mornings get me. Who decided that middle school should start so darned early?

AFM- The cramping has lessened significantly. It peaked Friday and I needed Vicodin. Now it's a dull achy cramp. I never did get a full on period like they said I would. The spotting stopped today. I'm very confused. I will be calling in the morning to see if my test results are back. They said they should be back in a week. I can't believe it's been a week already.

My sign language teacher gave me a lovely card that she made. It was heartfelt and almost made me cry in class. She is very sweet and told me that her mother had several miscarriages and one still born.

DH hasn't told his parents yet that we lost the babies. He isn't quite sure how to do it. They will take it very hard. Plus we have the language barrier. I don't know how to translate miscarriage into Chinese other than to say the babies didn't make it or that they died. Any ideas?

Gotta get. Catch up later.
