Babyluv – I am feeling ok but of course in the evenings I am pretty sore. I am just so anxious to finally meet her! I can’t believe that you cooked for 14 people after just having twins. I am going to call you super mom!

Stephanie – I am sorry that you still aren’t getting much sleep at night but how precious is Alex? I think we are all going to wish for an Alex at our houses … she is such a big help and I am sure great company to have around!

You are so right about young girls and their self-esteem. I mean it is ridiculous what some little boys and girls have to go through and they never ever forget it. I am so happy that she has you as a role model because you have such a positive outlook on life, which we really need because life can be so cruel sometimes.

Thank you so much for the advice about the hospital bag and breast feeding. I forgot that my true milk supply will not come in for a few days. It was so cruel after I delivered Ashley last year because it came in about two days after I went home. It was just another awful reminder that she wasn’t at home with us.

Jamila – Thank you so much for posting that information about what to bring the hospital bag. I read those same things on the internet too but sometimes there are little things that they don’t mention that might be helpful. I am glad that your nursery is coming along. It is so very exciting isn’t it? I just loved putting Gabriella’s nursery together and especially buying everything for her. I just can’t wait for her to finally come home … sometimes I walk pass her room and just go in there and sit for awhile and imagine her finally in her crib.

Katie – Yes, you are right too. House cleaning isn’t included in the modified bed rest list … lol. I get sooo impatient waiting for my DH to do it that I say forget it, I will just do it because it will be easier. I should have hired a house cleaner … darn it.

Claudia – CONGRATULATIONS! You delivered just one day before you EDD … I hope that is a trend that will continue with me. Actually, since my OB is going to induce me a week early, I too will not go past my date. Oh, how I wish is was Dec. 16th already!!!

Franca – I am glad that your DH was able to answer your questions. Yes, as long as your symptoms go away I think you are just fine, which applies for round ligament pain and Braxton hicks contractions.

AFM – I made it one more day … lol. I am so eager for my appointment tomorrow. I just hope I can get some more answers. I can’t believe I only have 18 more days until I am induced … whoo hoo!

Claudia - YAY for Flick having a face and a name... Madelyn Eve is a beautiful name, eve fits perfectly with her arriving one day before edd! So I have officially been thrown off on my prediction. lol Not a bad thing though. I can't wait to hear your story. Sounds like things were difficult though with the fever and her being in nicu because of it. I am guessing that she is perfect and that is is just to be safe and give her some antibiotics. Pictures.. I hope to see lots of beautiful pictures of the perfect family! :)

Franca - Thank you for asking DH for me. I still wonder what it is. lol I bet it is really nice having a doctor for a husband! Even if he isn't a ob/gyn he had to go through that rotation at one point and still would know enough to help you. :)

AFM - Ok, get this... Andrew had the idea that the twins sleep great while in their car seats in the car. We can go out and they will sleep for up to 8 hours if we let them. So, after a bunch of crankiness and it going on 2am, he hooked them up in their car seats and toted them upstairs. Sure enough, they slept 6 hours... 6 hours of solid sleep, not if they would have gone to sleep after they ate they would have been asleep 6 hours. lol It was nice to go longer than 3-4 hours. I know we can't do that every night, but I want to try it one more time tonight to see if it really works or if it was just a coincidence. On another note, we got a new bedroom on Black Friday so that will be coming this week. I couldn't stand the new cali king memory foam bed that we got anymore. The memory foam is just way too hot. It was killer while pregnant for sure! I also couldn't put up with the indent anymore that I call the sink hole. Both Andrew and I have one so the center of the bed is raised which doesn't make it easy to cuddle. Since I got the bed while I was pregnant and not able to sleep on my belly, it created the sink hole based on that. Now that I am not pregnant and want to sleep on my stomach again, I can't. So, I had Andrew put our old queen back in the room. Now that he was so use to the king, he hates it. Hence, the new bedroom. lol It started with just needing a bed and turned into the whole set. I made the salesman laugh when I told him that one of my requirements was a headboard with padding. We are back to play time now and though we are taking it easy, I know what is yet to come. lol Anyway... now that we got the the king bed suite, our queen bed set goes to Alex, Alex's dressers go into the spare room with the cali king, the desk in the spare room downstairs and the daybed to storage. Basically... a rearrangement of the whole house minus the nursery. It's been fun. At least any guests who stay here will be welcomed by a king size bed. :) Speaking of guests... My dad and his wife aren't coming for Christmas now, it is the 3rd year in a row that they have stood me up. I am more than a bit bitter about it but hoping my brother still is coming. I have yet to meet his wife and see him since his cancer scare.

CLAUDIA- CONGRATS ON YOUR BABY GIRL!!! rest up momma

Katie- I named him monkee =). He climbs up my clothes and jumps crazy in the cage so we thought monkee was the perfect name for him. I hope we can potty train him too. but i thought it was cute that he'll grow up with nataliah now. he'll be about three months when she's born.

AFM- I had my 4d u/s this afternoon and it was great to see nataliah moving like crazy. since we haven't had a u/s since we were 18 weeks back in the first week of september. she was moving like carzy though we saw her sucking her fingers, yawning and kicking. she was opening her mouth and covering her face so i didnt get a good pic of her face. so we are going back next sunday and hopefully we can get a better shot in 4d. they tried for like an hr to get her to move out the placenta. but good news they looked and say its a girl so thats the 3rd opininon i got so hopefully they are right since im putting all the baby clothes away and just set up her nursey.

Jamila- I'm glad you liked the outfit. I wanted to share my find with all of you. I really thought it was perfect.

Stephanie- OMG you are totally my twin. I have a memory foam cal king. I hate it....let me rephrase...HATE IT! We have made our indentations and live in our separate valleys. It is very hard to snuggle. About a month ago I was having such a hard time getting out of my valley to pee in the middle of the night we moved into the guest room to the queen bed. LOL So yeah...girly I feel your pain!
As for being teased by my pilot...LOL We used to work for a small airline. 1 flight attendant, 2 pilots and 32 passengers on every flight. We were all very close when we worked there. When ever I would fly with DH we'd end up teasing each other. One time he announced over the PA that it was my last flight for a while because I was going to be on American Idol and if they were nice to me maybe I would sing for them. Well payback is a biatch because the next flight we had with a lot of women on it, I told them that it was our Captain's last flight because he was going to be the next contestant on the bachelorette. And maybe they could catch his eye before he was off the market for good. LOL So every woman old and young walking off that flight was sticking their head inn the cockpit telling him bye in a flirty voice. It was too funny.

Claudia- OH honey!!!!!!! Yea for flick having a name and face. I can't wait to see HER cute little face. I hope the trend continues for babies being on time.

Franca- I have been having the same pains you are. I was told it was normal and probably round ligament pain. That was after freaking out and going to the hospital a few weeks ago and being hooked up to monitors for a few hours. Yeah I felt silly but better safe than sorry. Now it feels like there is a head sitting on my pelvis and it hurts really bad some days. Oh and every time I roll over in bed, my hips crack. UGH...I sound like an old lady.

Karen- Congrats on your great beta. I can't wait to hear about your u/s this week.

AFM- I am sure I am forgetting people. I have a bit of a head cold. I started getting sick on Saturday and it's just getting worse.
My mom is getting out of the hospital on Wednesday. We are meeting with a social worker on Tuesday to figure out how to get her signed up with a home nurse for PT and someone to assist her. They assumed I would be able to be there every day taking care of her. HMMMMM...no. If she fell I can't lift her. I can't clean anymore because it makes me have asthma attacks. I don't even clean my house anymore. I had to hire someone. So I am sure the social worker I talked to thinks I am a selfish ***** but I've waited 11 long years to have this miracle inside of me. I am NOT taking any chances.
I think I forgot to tell you all that at my peri apt I had them double check the sex. She was laying there spread eagle like she was a porn star. Yup....girl parts. Saw them in 2D and 3D. No penis at all. So it's a go to continue painting my girl room tomorrow. DH is trying his best at his first attempt at painting. He only ruined part of the ceiling with purple paint....GRRRRRR. Now I have to repaint that.
OK time for sleep. Last night my nose was so stuffy that I woke myself up twice from snoring. I do not normally snore. OOPS. LOL XOXO

I'm being a bad, bad, Mummy and have plonked George in front of baby TV to try and get five minutes to post, because I had to get on here and say a huge CONGRATULTIONS to Claudia. What an absolutely beautiful name! I can't wait to see photos, and hope you're recovering well from the delivery. I know that you and DH will be over the moon to be getting to know your little miracle!!

I'm so sorry I haven't been on here in ages -I'm reading but never seem to get the chance to post. I feel so guilty about that, because it feels like I'm neglecting family! All is ok with us, things are starting to settle down after Dad's passing and I've now got most of the work done on the estate. George is now 10 weeks and doing well - he weighed 13lbs 6oz as at last Friday and is still growing like a weed. He has started sleeping through the night, which is fantastic (I think that has nothing to do with anything we've done and everything to do with the fact that he's a greedy so-and-so who pigs his 24 hour's worth of formula during the day and is then so stuffed he can last overnight until the next feed). Although he is great at night, it seems with each passing week he gets less snoozy and more alert (and demanding!) during the day. He still refuses to nap for more than 20 mins at a time, and that's only twice a day!, unless we're out in the car or walking out with the pram. So when we're at home I spend all my time having to carry him round the house showing him things to entertain him (which has caused me to hurt somthing in my shoulder and back!), else he spends the entire time screaming! So we go out A LOT, because it gives him different things to look at and listen to. I swear, this baby has a better social life than I've ever had, what with baby massage classes, music classes, walks in the park, meetings with the antenatal group and their babies etc!

Healthwise, I'm pretty good now, other than the aches and pains from carrying George about - I had some problems with the episiotomy but that started to get better at about 9 weeks. Still 20lbs overweight though... George is ok too, he has a blocked tear duct in one eye which will hopefully resolve itself at some point, and he had an umbilical hernia which had to be burnt off with silver nitrate over the last few weeks, but otherwise he's good. Oooh, come to think of it, he had a nasty few days after his 8 week vaccinations with a high temperature and being quite out of sorts, so be warned Katie and Steph, and anyone else with babies who are coming up for jabs due soon!

Right, I have really pushed my luck because George is now screaming his head off, so gotta go. Will try and post again soon, and do proper personals...

Hi ladies,

So really far behind i wont be able to do many personals.

Its great to be back!!! Got home from hosp. sat a day earlier as both Kayla and I were doing so well. Ah what an emotional day that was esp. when we got home, jason showed her our home and nursery we were both just stunned that she was finally home safe and sound. I am feeling good still have lots of pain but as long as i stay on top of the painkillers its ok, Yes Katie i too let it go too far once and was in tears with the pain never again!!!! So Kayla had her 1st checkup by health nurse who visited us this morning and she now weighs 9lbs 10 ozs we were all surprised as i was expecting a little weight loss or just stay same from birth but she does love her food!!! Touch wood she is a really content baby who likes minimal fussing, feeds every 3 hrs usually poos during her feed then likes a quick cuddle and back to bed it only takes about 30 - 45 mins. How weird is it that i am enjoying night time feeds  I am normally a very light sleeper so i dont mind getting up though jason is great, i just love those moments at night when the house is quiet and its just me and her in the nursery she just stares up at me during her feeds and it melts my heart. Jasons brother did a picture video its just her and jason (will add me in it next wk when feeling a bit better and less bloated lookiing!!) everytime i see the pics i just tear up.....hmmm dont you just love those hormones!!!
I am gonna say it again though ye will think i am mad but truly i cant believe we did it and our precious little girl is here to stay never in my wildest dreams when i went thro. my 2nd heartbreaking miscarriage did I think that a year later we would have our miracle in our arms......dreams really do come true.

Katie how nice of you to remember my mams birthday!!! So little Ryan is keeping you busy at least his night feeds are starting to get longer soon hopefully he will start to sleep thro. Is he sleeping in his crib lately??

Steph how sweet of Alex to let you sleep for a few hrs the other day, its great to know you can fully trust her.

Claudia Big Congrats on baby Madelyn at least one of us made it to due date and not over!!!!! Sorry to hear you caught a fever and she went to Nicu i hope ye are both recovering well. Sounds like birth wasnt too easy, take care.

Karen Yeah great 2nd beta, i have been thinking of you over last few days best of luck with u/s all my fingers and toes are crossed.

Franca oh girl you were not the only one with the constant worry hell i dont think i Ever relaxed but when you go thro. what we did its too be expected. Yep i too had lots of niggles and period type pains, i used to say to myself right get to 28wks, then 32 wks then 36wks and after 36wks i completley changed and every niggle i got excited and was thinking is this it!!!! For so long i tormented myself over pains then suddenly was wishing for them! You will never truly relax till she is safely here, sure i was so terrifed on Wed going for the fetal trace even though she was kicking away.

Angela oh honey i am so happy to hear that everything seems to be ok with Gabriella though i was very surprised over your OB's lack of concern given your history. You had me in tears thinking of what you must have went thro. with Ashley having your milk supply come and no baby to feed, i just cant wait for the day you post that baby Gabriella has finally arrived safely into the world and your family is complete. Believe me its a tremendous relief lifted from your shoulders to know that everything worked out ok.

Natasha so your girl likes to show off her bits, Kayla did that once and jason said that was the only time she was allowed to pose nude!!

Jenice Ah thanks thanks for the message, i cant believe you are 26 wks it doesnt seem that long ago when we both were going thro. the 2ww little did we know how things would turn out. Best of luck now you are heading into the 3rd trimester.

PA what are you and your hubby like!! your message cracked me up oh i could just imagine me and jason doing that its great to hear ye are so close. Your baby is getting big! We were told average baby too around 7.5lbs hmmmm got that wrong!!!

Sorry if i have missed anyone but hugs to you all and thanks for all your support it means so much.

Quick post here to say:

CONGRATULATIONS!

to both Gi and Claudia on the birth of their baby girls. Much love to you both!

AFM: DH had a varicocele repair that seemed to go well last week. I had an HSG to "check" my tubes (as plan B since IVF isn't going so well for me anymore) and showed a complete blockage on the right. Could've been a spasm but my OB says that the only way to know is to do a laparotomy and check 'em out. That is scheduled for 12/13. I plan to cycle in Jan/Feb but if that doesn't work, we'll be trying on our own until we can afford another cycle. Miss you all so much!

OMG Gi, I've just realised that I kept reminding myself at the weekend that I had to post to say congratulations on the arrival of Kayla so many times that I think in the end I thought I had actually posted. Can I still blame baby brain 10 weeks afer giving birth??? I swear, you are all going to vote me off this thread for being so rubbish at posting since George arrived... Suffice to say, I am delighted for you and Jason and remember just how precious these days feel. Holding your baby and quietly bonding with them, even in the middle of the night when you are absolutely knackered, is such a joy. Make the most of the days of Kayla being snoozy and spending a lot of time sleeping - unfortunately that doesn't last too much longer than the first couple of weeks and once she's awake and being much more demanding you may wish you'd taken more advantage of the opportunity to rest in the early days!!

Lou, thinking of you and rooting for you still.

Angela, hope you are being a good girl and resting properly now!

PA_FA - oh honey, I feel for you so much with the situation with your Mum. I hope you manage to find a good solution soon, to get some peace of mind.

Steph - how funny, the car sear works wonders with George too, sometimes he can be screaming his head off and when I put him in the seat and pick it up, he can be asleep by time I get to the front door! Are you getting some rest? What an angel Alex is!

Katie - are you feeling any more rested or is Ryan still keeping you on the go? If it makes you feel better, the bigger he gets the better it will become, as he can feed in bigger quantities and settle better. George started off taking 3oz or so of formula every 2-3 hours through the day and overnight, but is now on 7 or 8 oz five times a day, with all five feeds being between the hours of 7am and 8pm. He was pretty demanding too in that he'd be crying and shouting a lot, and much of the time I couldn't work out what on earth to do to settle him down, other than standing in front of the tumble drier for some white noise or dancing to MTV with him in my arms like a mad woman. That amount of crying also gets better, around the 8 week mark for us, when George seemed to decide that I was competent enough that he could trust me to tend to his needs without him having to cry and scream all the time! He still starts having a few meltdowns in the afternoon and evening though, once he gets overtired and overstimulated. Getting him to nap during the day so that he doesn't end up in that state seems like the holy grail at the moment!

Right, I'm struggling to keep my eyes open so must go off to bed. Lots of snow predicted overnight, wonder whether it'll look like a real Christmas scene when we wake up!

Lou - I really hope trying natural works for you. That is definitely the more fun way to go about it. ;) Jan/Feb cycle worked last year, maybe it will prove to work again if natural doesn't happen? I keep sweeping up under the twins and sending all that dust your way! :)

Gi - Girl, say it as much as you need to... she is home and in your arms! It's perfect! You definitely worked hard for her. She will grow up knowing exactly how much her parents love her! I am glad Kayla is gaining weight nicely. I hope the pain isn't too awful for you. I know it isn't nice, but keep doing what you are doing and stay on top of the meds. Soon enough it will go away and you will be back to normal.

Ronda - How are you hon? How was your Thanksgiving? Any Christmas plans in the making? I think my brother and his wife are coming, if not I know the next door neighbors are coming. We went there for turkey day. Her husband is deployed and she doesn't have the money to go home so she really needs a friend.

Hazel - Good to know you are healing well even though you had an issue there for a bit. George really does demand a lot from you huh? I bet he is going to be a little genius! So curious already and wanting to take everything in like he is a little sponge. :)

Pa - That is such a funny story! I think that is a great one to tell people. If I sum mine up with Andrew it sounds romantic, but really it was a mess when I go into details. lol As for the memory foam, I really wish I would have known better. I really thought it would help with the pregnancy, but I was so wrong. Being big it was close to impossible to get out of it on my own. We should have switched while I was still pregnant. lol I might have slept better?

Natasha - Hopefully the next one turns out better. Can't wait to see!

Babyluv - I have used your experience on the snacking and it works. If I let them cry a little or try to sooth in other ways (other than a bottle) it gets them to their next feeding. It isn't always easy, but easier than feeding babies all throughout the day and wasting so much milk! Thanks for sharing! lol

AFM - I have an appt on Wed to check my stuff. My bleeding apparently isn't normal though I didn't get any feedback on it whatsoever. My doctor wasn't in today and the nurses at the office are not informative. All I know is that they want me to see my ob asap. I guess it's bad enough that I have to be seen soon but not bad enough to be informed to go to the ER? I am thinking I might call L&D just to get some feedback on it. I have now been bleeding for 8 days and it's getting worse. It is too heavy to be a period, not a normal period for me anyway and is very fresh where normally it would look more like old blood. I didn't even bleed like this during the 4 weeks I was bleeding after surgery. I only went a week of no blood too. They didn't tell me if that was normal either. UGH! I can fill a pad in just 60 seconds. It isn't constant though, but I have gone through many pads, more so in the past three days... so it is getting worse. Scary really. I don't think I posted about Ethan's u/s, probably because it turned out normal like I knew it would. He is great, no hip displasia! We tried the car seat trick again. It was just a coincidence. They didn't sleep any better last night than they normally do. I think it does help a little with the angle though so I made the angle on their crib higher. That seemed to work well for the morning nap time. They slept for 4-5 hours I think.

Stephanie – I love the idea of the twins getting comfy in their car seats. It actually makes sense because it helps elevate their heads and probably mimics them being close to something so they believe they are being held or have company around them. It is funny because I read something similar to your post over the weekend online! Ok, so I just read your last post that it was just a coincidence … oh well, you tried right? I am glad that you made the best out of black Friday! I was told to do all of my shopping online by my OB so that is actually what I have been doing or will do. I am going to buy some new dining room chairs, another flat screen for the dining room, and maybe another recliner. I told my DH that could be our Christmas presents but I don’t think he is going for that idea … lol. He likes presents, so I will probably get him something for his truck that he has been wanting.

Natasha – I am glad that you enjoyed your 4D u/s! Gabriella didn’t cooperate too much for her three sessions either because she was already too big and her face was right by the placenta. I hope your next appointment goes a little better so you can get a good view of her.

PA_FA – I am sorry that you are getting a head cold. I certainly hope that you feel better soon. Yeah for your mom getting out of the hospital on Wednesday! I was so happy that you will be working with a social worker because you definitely need some sort of help and I think she can guide you in the right direction as to what options you have out there. They have been very helpful with my grandmother. And, “NO” I don’t think you are selfish because you aren’t helping your mom 24/7 because you are 7 months pregnant for crying out loud. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad because you are doing what is right for everyone involved and I know your mom certainly understands that! I think it is very smart of you to think realistically and know your limitations … I don’t blame you one bit!

Hazel – It is great to hear from you again! I think we certainly understand that you have been a busy woman with George and taking care of your dad’s estate. I am glad that you are doing great and George is growing, growing, and growing!

GI – I am just so very excited for you and Jason. Yes, you have been through a lot to finally get to meet Kayla but she is here safe and sound and that is fantastic news! I am glad that she did well for her first appointment and yeah for gaining more weight! She is doing just wonderful since her recent birth! Thank you so much for the kind words and I can’t agree with you more … I can’t wait to finally have Gabriella in my arms too. You ladies just give me so much inspiration that keeps me going!

Lou – It is great to hear from you too! Good luck with your laparotomy on 12/13. I am glad that you have a backup plan and I know it will work out for you too.

AFM – My NST went ok today but of course she played all last night so she was very hard to wake up for the test. So finally 45 minutes later I was ready for my AFI and blood flow check. The tech had a hard time with the blood flow study once again and I thought it would be a complete repeat of last Tuesday but after talking with the doc and the tech, they said the problem is that she keeps practicing her breathing, which is good but she doesn’t stop when they are doing their test so they can’t get an accurate blood flow reading. So then I went across the hall to my OB appointment and I begged and pleaded for her to be taken early. The doctor said you have worked so hard over the years to get here, so I understand you being fearful but she is doing just fine for now. I asked him what criteria it would take for them to take her early and he said after my next complete u/s, if she doesn’t weight at least 5 pounds or 5 ½ they will take her, which was scheduled for next Thursday but I moved it up to Monday. I will have to admit that she didn’t appear to be in any distress at all today. As a matter of fact, she was just playing around in there, so I decided that I will not panic and I will wait until my next u/s to see her progress. After the next u/s, I am scheduled to be induced the very next week anyway (Only two weeks left)!!!!!

*** Oh, I have been meaning to tell you ladies that I heard about this spray that hospitals normally provide for women who have vaginal deliveries. The spray is called Dermoplast and it provides some pain relief from the itching and burning following the vaginal birth. Some hospitals just provide a water bottle or sitz bath but this a great option that I have heard from several other women that it works very well. I bought me a can today and it only cost $8.99 … I thought it is better to just have it in case the hospital doesn’t provide it!

Have a great night ladies!
