:D  :D Eleven Weeks and One Day :D  :D

Had all this cheerful funny stuff to say to you all but it doesn't seen right now.

Kia I was going to tell you that I have got my second scan booked for next Wednesday at 3.20 will be very relieved to see my twins. Hearing what has happened to Lola makes all the fear seem necessary.

Reward I am sure your baby is very well protected but I understand why your panicing. Not long till Friday xxx

Steph I too can't wait for second scan so I can tell people been avoiding everyone just in case they ask. Just want to be sure.

Sarah that is great news, i hope you get VIP treatment now.

Lisa Mrs B, Its great when you have just got married and you get to use your new name - I felt like I was playing grown ups and was supprised when people believed me.

My Sisters Kids are coming on our wedding hoiday now - so please and relieved that they are not being left behind with her husband.

Mama Welcome on board honey - nice to see you over here x

Hazel the books I have been reading are

Double trouble Twins and how to survive them by Emma Malony

It s a really positive book for all of us on the twin train, very funny and informative. I'd buy this again.

Conception Pregnancy and Birth by Mirriam Stoppard

Bought this four years ago when we first started trying. Bit stoggy and only one page on twins but at least I can read on from page one now!

The blokes guide to Pegnancy by Jon Smith

Bought it for my dh. It is so annoying written by someone who it seems to be constantly worried about how the whole thing will affect his wallet his late nights and his pulling power. Suppose to be funny but both of us want to slap him. Nothing on twins!

Everything You need to know about having a healthy twin pregnancy by Gila Leiter MD

Only just got this much more medical than my other twin book - think it might be full of the things that might go wrong. My attituide is its too late now. I am having twins and they will be heathy so lets focus on that please.

Take care everyone xxx

Just wanted to let you all know that my first "normal" doctor's appt. went well yesterday. He was able to find the heart beat with a Doppler. Did take a minute though. I kept getting all excited but then he'd look at me and say "That's your hear beat, not the baby!"

Anyway, all looks good. Baby heart beat at around 165. We are oficially telling everybody we know and it feels so great!!

I won't go back for 5 weeks and won't have a scan until mid-July when I am 20 weeks

Although if we choose to do the first trimester screening I would have an ultrasound for that. What do you all feel about those? I know tehre is a 5% chance of false positives which means potentially worrying for no reason. I don't know what to do...

I had a little spotting last night and called the RN this morning. They found a blood clot outside of my baby's sack. The doctor said that since the placenta is forming and hooking up sometimes the amnion and chrion can knick a blood vessel causing the bleed. It is measuring 1 cm. She said they most of the time get better and go away. I see my real OB Friday, I will ask about it then too. I am still on baby aspirin, she said to stop by RE said to keep on... not sure what to do. I have another ultrasound on the 30th, but Pep, I may have the nuchal scan just to see the baby again. This is nightmare... Please everyone keep us in your prayers!!

I may post a general topic out there to see if anyone else has had this and continued with their pregnancy...

hi all

sorry been missing for a while, but its been work, eat, sleep. i really feel as if i have no life at the moment, haven't go the energy to even switch on the PC when i get in from work, which is so unlike me, even DH say's i must be having withdrawal symptoms cos i have been on line for a while!!!

Quita - totaly hear what your saying, i'm still numb with shock about lola. wed not far away honey it will be hear in no time. as for the book "blokes guide to pregnancy" i got DH it a few weeks ago, and i really want to kill that man, DH keeps on laughing but it just irks me to death!!

Reward - sorry to hear about your fall, i'm sure all is well, your little one is well protected with all the fluid thats surrounding him. but also do hear your worries.

sarah - wonderful news about the scans you must be thrilled.

mama - so nice to see you on this side honey.

as for me, seen my midwife today, she done all the usual bloods, urine, BP ect, and apon talking about the birth she has agreed that if all goes well during the pregnacy we can have the home birth i so much want. so finger's cross that the next 7 months will be trouble free.

hope everyone else is doing ok, i know i have missed loads out and i'm sorry but i'm fighting to stay awake her.

love to all

Lola, I am so sorry.
It is so unfair, after everything that you've been through. At this time the whole 'at least you know you can get this far' is of no comfort at all. I can still remember how I felt after my m/c - make sure you treat yourself nicely, spend some time with your dh, just the two of you, no-one else feels it the same way. Don't beat yourself up, there is absolutely nothing you could have done to make a difference. Thinking of you

Lots of love
Tams xxxxx

psI know its little consolation because everyone's different, but a close friend of mine also had a m/c at 9 wks following IVF, she found out at the 12 wks scan, she now, after 4 rounds in total, has a little girl and a little boy. It will happen.

Sorry to have been MIA for a while, we were supposed to be in Portugal this week but having been grounded we decided to get away for a couple of days to the English countryside! The weather wasn't up to much but we had a lovely relaxing time. Well, as relaxed as you can be in the circs. I am so upset to hear what happened to Lola. I know three friends, one following IVF, who had the same thing at 9 wks, the baby stopped developing. It seems to be a precarious time.

I am fretting, as ever about my on and off symptoms, I've had terrible nausea for the last 10 days but suddenly yesterday it stopped (I am only 8 wks) I am hoping this is because baby B has faded away, which seems so heartless but we are expecting it, I just hope that baby A hasn't also stopped. It seems a very long time until the 29th when I have my next scan. I know it seems silly to wish for m/s again but it made me feel better. I guess it was the double dose of hormones which made it worse. Has anyone else had a similar loss of symptoms after one twin didn't make it?

I had a scan through all the posts for the last few days, the comments on the Jon Smith book made me smile. I bought the book for my dh, who promptly put it in the kitchen drawer where's its been every since. Should I actually be very pleased about this and lose it somewhere?! I had a quick look at one other blokes guide I saw in the book shop, and the first chapter talked about morning sickness being a case of 'mind over matter' - I dropped that one sharpish. Are there any good blokes guides which we can trust to be on our side?

Love and hugs

Tams xxxxx

Tams, I really feel the same way. I saw the baby yesterday and I have nothing today but a twinge here and there and wonder if that isn't the blood clot I have. I am sorry about Baby B. I wish it would have picked back up, it is so disappointing. I am glad Baby A is hanging in strong. When do you go back?

Reward 74, this is such a worrying time. I think we live for the next scan, mine is on the 29th May which is a week next Tuesday. Did they say when they next wanted you to go back and what they hope to find then? Do blood clots usually shrink back? It sounds as though they are more common than you might think? You can do no more than make sure you really look after yourself and rest, rest, rest. It won't be for ever just until you're through this crucial first 3 months (which feels like about 3 years, I know!).
It is very sad about baby B, but we were told right at the first scan that it probably wouldn't make it, I didn't ever think of myself as pregnant with twins - strange how your mind deals with things. I did find myself rooting for baby B before the second scan, but it seems it isn't meant to be. And if thats the case I'd rather know now. I just hope that baby A pulls out all the stops and hangs on in there.

Thinking of you

Tams, it is crazy how you deal with things and prepare yourself. I saw my OB today for my first official visit. All they did was listen to the heartbeat (which they heard with the doppler!) :D It took forever to find, but they did. My OB said the same thing as the other doctor. It is common, relax, congratulations-- it will absorb or it will come out. Prepare yourself. That's what he told me.

I want to know what happens to Baby B? Have they said? Baby A will hang on, I am praying for it!

I go May 29th too. I am having the Nuchal Translucency test done and they'll check my Subchorionic Hem. then too. He told me anytime I want to come in to hear the HB I can. He shouldn't have said that... seriously. We all need a home doppler...
