Hi! My Pregnancy test will be on October 8th. This time I am going to do bed rest. Hopefully we will get better results. I seemed to have healthier eggs using the follistim and repronex compared to just the follistim! Let me know how your eggs did today. I can't wait!!

Got the call. They did ICSI on all 8 and 7 fertilized. Yay!!! I'm so excited. They'll call me tomorrow afternoon with my ET time for Thur. Donna, since you are testing on the 8th, I'm going to see if they might move my test date up to the 10th, since DH will be home that day. I'm sure they'll say no, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Nerms, we can't wait to hear your news. Is anyone testing soon? I thought someone was testing tomorrow. I can't remember who. Good luck.

Congrats Christie.
How many will you be transfering? I think we will be transfering 3.

Are any of you that had ER constipated? sorry to overshare or overask. I feel like I am going to POP! I am at work, and I think I am going to leave early. I just don't feel good. It is hard for me to go to the bathroom. Driving over bumps hurt!

Good luck tomorrow. I can't wait to find out. I'm transferring 2. We'll see what we end up with on Thur. I'm hoping that we could freeze some too, but I know we don't have a lot to work with. I'm constipated too. Oh my God! After the retrieval, I had the worst gas pains. It was horrible. It's a little better today, but I'm so bloated and it hurts. On top of that, my stomach is sore from the ER. I know what you mean about the bumps. I was yelling at DH on the way home yesterday. I'm going to try to eat lots of fiber. I think the anesthesia can cause it. I remember the nurse saying something about it. Also, the progesterone can cause it too.

Hi girls! Well I got the call, of 21 eggs, 19 were mature and 9 fertilised...I don't quite know how to feel. On the one hand i think 9 is a good number and I shouldn't feel down, on the other hand why didn't as many fertilise??? Like you girls...donna and christie? We also did ICSI I don't know what is normal and what scares me the most is that it's such a similar picture to my last cycle, last time I had 15 eggs and 7 fertlised, of course last time it didn't work and so I guess I'm scared the same will happen again. My rational head says stop panicking and besides whatever I could of done, I have, science is doing it's bit I guess the rest is up to my lord up there...who I really do have faith in...I just don't understand why I was chosen to be given such a hard time!

Anyway I'm rambling!

Congrats to both Donna and Christie, great fertilisation rates! :D We should be doing ET on thursday also, they will call me thursday morning to let me know how embies are doing and then advise me if it going to be day 3 or day 5 transfer....lets pray...all our embies keep thriving and grow wonderfully!

Christie I too am in a bit of pain...same feeling of too much pressure on my bladder and when I do need to pee and hurts initially...hoping all will heal nicely.

My test date is 16days post collection so that would be 10th October.

Nerms, Don't worry too much! To me 9 sounds like a good number. I only had 4 eggs retrieved and I freaked out but miraculously all got fertilized and made it to blasts... I'll keep you in my prayers! Hang in there :D

Don't worry Nerms. I'm sure everything will work out great. You have the same odds that we do. Only the healthiest eggs fertilized, so that's a good thing. You have to stay positive. It's so important from this point on to have a PMA. You can't be stressed or that will affect the embies after the ET. I kept saying all day yesterday after the ER, that our job is done. It's up to God now. There is nothing more we can do, except wait and pray. I'm not very religious, but I've been praying like crazy lately. You can't compare this cycle to your last cycle. Sometimes, it takes a few cycles to work.

I can't handle the pressure I have when I have to pee. I can't wait to get back to normal. I'm dreading the butt shot tonight. They actually asked me to be in a study yesterday. I go to Brigham and Women's in Boston. They do the progesterone shots and would like to switch to the gel, like Boston IVF. She said they were going to monitor patients that do both. It was random and I got the shots. Oh well. I'd be paranoid the whole time anyways, that the gel wouldn't work as well. I get to do the gel after the + preg. test at least.

Nerms - I am so happy for you...like we keep on saying here, don't worry about the figures....after all it just takes one (or 2) to stick in there. Stay positive and that's very important.

Post by PrincessB »

I had a laparascopy done 2 weeks ago and had the same problem with constipation. Drink prune juice. It worked on the same day. Yay!

Hi Ladies,

I hope everyone is doing well today :D

Sorry that I haven't been around much these past few day but I've been so busy running around to all of my appointments

On Friday I went for my US & BW and the have been watching me closely ever since ..... I've been going to RE office daily ...... I have 10 eggs (with my RE says all are a good size) ... we are also going to have the PGD test done (I'm 41) .... hoping that I will have some healthy embies to transfer ... ... I haven't totally decided how many embies (however many I end up with) we will be transferring ..... I'm petite (4' 10") and not too sure about carrying twins :? :? ... definitely not 3.... right?

Tonight will be my HCG shot :? and ER is set for Thursday morning (a bit scared about it after hearing about how everyone is feeling afterwords)

Hmmmm, all this talk of constipation with the ER .... I always have constipation problems (normally) ... I better make sure I have some prune juice on hand .... thanks for the heads up on this ladies

Hi Christie
, I empathize with ya on the butt shot ... {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} :( ... oh, and I will be doing the progesterone gel ... my RE told me that unless my levels are low when they test me the gel will be fine ... I thought my RE was giving me the gel just cause I hate needles so much :D Good luck on your ET!!! 7 fertilized!!! whoo hoo!!!! Here's some Sticky Baby Dust for you Image

Hi nerms, wow.... way to go!!!! you have a whole bunch that fertilized.... good luck on you ET!!!! .... Sticky Baby dust to you Image

Hi Donna, Sorry to hear that your not feeling so well ... ... but a Whoo Hoo for you on your 11 eggs fertilizing ..... my goodness, looks like Thursday is going to be a busy embie day .... Good Luck out to you on you ET .... some more Sticky Baby Dust for you too Image

I wish everyone all the best!!!!!

I must say, I'm feeling much better this afternoon. I had a hard time even walking yesterday without being in pain. I have no problem today. I'm still a little sore, but it is getting better every minute. I asked DH to grab some prunes on the way home. I can eat prunes, but no prune juice for me. I actually love prunes. I've been trying to drink plenty of water. The nurse said that is so important to avoid constipation.

Love, good luck on Thur. I can't wait to hear your results. It's going to be a busy day. I'm so jealous that you get to use the gel. I wish I had the chance, but I'll just have to deal. The hcg shot wasn't that bad. It's after the shot that bothers me. I was sore for 2 days after.

Hi everyone!!!
Been laying low the past couple days, trying to keep my mind off of the whole process. These days of bed rest and house rest (arrest) have been a nice break but considering the circumstances not very relaxing. We test on Sunday 9/30 - fingers crossed. :-)

I wish there were some signs of something/anything happening in there. Just a couple of random abdomen pain twinges but not much else. DH swears that my chest is getting bigger. I think he's dreaming!

Going back to work tomorrow, that'll help keep me and my mind busy.

Getting used to the progesterone shots, they don't hurt as much and now that I'm not taking the baby aspirin there's less bruising. yay! Icing before and after seems to be working for me.

I also had constipation and bloating following the ER but it went away after a couple of days. I certainly felt like i had done a serious ab workout the 3 and 4 day after but then all of sudden i felt normal again. weird.

Donna/Christie/Nerms -- congrats on all the embies. loads of luck & dust to you all!!!!
