Good afternoon!!!

babyloves~ So glad to hear from you with such good news. I'm sure your fertilization report will be good! I can't wait to hear from you again. Good luck.

Mztia~ I'm really sorry that AP is so painful! I don't think it should be that way though. Once in a while she inserts the needle not quite in the right place and it gets painful. But then she removes it and inserts it again and then it's fine. It should be a good experience for you, not one that stresses you or worries you. Don't feel like a baby, those tiny needles can be painful! Does each needle hurt? Because if not, I would ask your AP to reinsert them for you.

Kate21~ Sounds like IVF is going to be lots of fun for you. It's wonderful that you have such a positive person by your side. I'd love a trip to Sweden as well :D

jharris~ You're doing so well... :D Lots of follies that are all in the same range. What more can you ask for at this point?

As for me, you can see that I'm home! Ahhhhh! this rain is driving me insane. Got a little bit done but torrential rains drove me away once more.

I use 3 Bravelle and 1 Menopur in the morning and the evening. They all get mixed in 1 cc of solution. That's why so many vials. I seem to be a poor responder and so they're starting me at a higher dose from the beginning. Last cycle they started at 2 bravelle + 1 menopur but they did not like the numbers. I'm hoping for a little better response. I'd be happy with 5 or 6 follies. We'll see what happens.

to_have_fun~ The menopur is not hard to mix at all. It dissolves on contact. You can't shake the vial, just swirl it around and using the Q-cap is super easy.

hoping~ How are you doing? getting close to your stims?

I'll check on all of you later.

Babyloves-Great numbers. Cant wait to hear your fert report.

Jharris- Wow lots of follicles. That is great.

Valerie-hope that rain cleared up for you, as for me, need the rain, our well is almost dry!

To_have_fun- I am paying out of pocket for my meds this time and so far I have spent $6,000 on meds. I am using microdose lupron and follistim. I am using 300u of follistim in the am and pm. That is why it is so pricey.
Hopefully for a good cause!

Kate-your trip to Sweden will be here soon enough. Can't wait to hear your about your adventure.

As for me, I had US and BW today. She counted 10 follicles. I guess that is good for baseline. I had 3 around 10 and the rest 7. I got back again on Friday. I didn't get my E2 though. I am assuming everything is fine since I didn't get a call to change meds.
Thinking about you all, have a headache again tonight.

Hey everybody! Hope you all had a great day!

kate21: Sounds like your organizer is fantastic! Your holiday, I mean EC should go wonderfully!! :D

JDC: Thank you!! Glad you are still checking in! Hope you are doing well!

babyloves: Can't wait to hear that fert report! 8 eggs is a great number! ET will be here before you know it!!

valerie: YAY! Thanks! It's dry again here, sorry you got rained out again. Wow, that just seems like a lot of meds! I hope it produces tons of eggs for you!

hoping: Sounds like you have some nice follies growing yourself!! Sounds like your RE is happy with your progress. Sorry you have a headache. Get you some rest, and hope you feel better.

As for me, my E2 was 605 today, so my meds stayed the same, and I go back in tomorrow for BW & US AGAIN!! Looks like I will be going in every day this cycle. I'm glad my boss is undersanding! I'm finally starting to get some side effects from meds. I have been so tired! And I'm gassy, too. Not the best side effects! Anyway, time to watch So You Think You Can Dance! Talk to you ladies later! Have a great night!

Valerie- About the AP. my Ap also says it shouldn't hurt this much either but there is a small grp of people that are hypersensitive to it. She has recommend things like eating before I come in and fish oil to help with it. The eating does help. Not every needle hurts but my feet are exceptionally sensitive and almost always hurt so we rotate with needles and acupressure. Thank goodness the pain does subside almsot immediately after they are in. The poor AP tries so hard not to hurt me ..uses smaller needles goes in real slow and stuff. But I am so sure it will help so I am seeing it through to the end. Heck I have gone through like 10 sessions only 12 more to go .

Babyloves~eight eggs is great! I am thinking of you and hoping for a great fertility report. Let us know when you find out how many fertilize.

JHarris~So glad to hear you have so many follies growing strong in there! Excellent progress.

JDC
~Glad the etrace is smooth sailing so far. You will be stimming before you know it!

Hoping~Sounds like you are off to a good start with 10 follies!

I am feeling a bit down today. I think I told too many people about our IVF and now I am finding it hard to relate to people who are fertile. My college room mate emailed me and said how sad she was about my failed cycle. Then she asked if we are thinking about adoption. Then she went on to tell me how her 6-month old ate his first sweet potato today.

The whole thing just made me sad. Of course I've thought of adoption, along with many other scenarios, when I lay awake thinking and cant sleep at night! I know whe meant well--but it just hurts cause I feel jealous of her and her baby and I know she will never understand what I am going through. I think adoption is a beautiful thing--but Im not ready to give up on a biological child yet.

Hi guys,
I didn't have the best report: 6 of the 8 were mature enough, and out of that only 4 fertilized...but i'm waiting for more info today. Do the ones that didn't fertilize do the next day? I'm hoping for 2 good eggs and hopefully 2 to freeze, but that's wishful thinking which is all i have...its so outta our hands at this point while the embies are in the lab...can't wait to have them back...
jharris and hoping...sounds like you guys are doing well with stims..grow follies grow!
hoping: i used to go to drexel then PCOM - so i lived in philly for about 6 yrs...have good memories esp the restaurants..buddakan, tangerine...Nothern Va and DC don't come close.
Val: have u started stims yet..good luck!
Sue: I can feel your jealousy too...my DH's cousins are all in the mid-20s, have no-stress lives, and have like 2 kids a piece...always wonder why things didn't come so easily for me...oh well...this may be our time :)
Have a great day ladies!

SueQiwi - I feel your pain. My sister and I started TTC around the same time. She is now PG with her 2nd child and her 1st child will be 2 next month. I went to her house for the 4th of July. Her neighborhood has about 50 houses and there is about 40 kids. Most kids are 8 and younger. They had a 4th of July parade for all the kids and it was really depressing seeing all of them. Here I was at the time on a cycle which had been delayed for the 3rd time because they couldn't suppress me and I get to see all these kids everywhere. There was even a set of twins that were only 2 months old. Sometime when I see children it doesn't really bother me, other times I just want to hide in a corner. I just try to get in the mind set that IVF will work, weather it is the 1st cycle, 2nd, 3rd or 5th cycle.

Hi all,
I've been such a lurker, I do read every post and try to keep up on where everyone is at.

I'm thinking of you babyloves, let us know how it goes.

SueQiwi, you'd think that just knowing people who are going through this would make people more sensitve, but it just doesn't, hang in there.

I've been pretty down lately too. Last week we got bad news about my DH's SP and motility. On our retrieval day they made him go in a second time to give a sample because there was nothing viable in the first one. Over this past year his SP has fluctuated from 200,000 to 2.1 million and motility from 0-10%. I talked to the lab tech on the phone and she said on the day of our retrieval 2 techs spent 8 hours looking through a microscope and they only found 8 they could use. This was from 2 frozen samples and 2 from the day of. They threw in some that weren't moving and somehow they fertilized a few more...does anyone know anything about this? Or anything about male factor in general? It just all seems so strange. I know we have 9 frosties but they might not all make it out of the freezing process and I'm so scared that we might not ever get any more.

I did go in for my first AP appointment last week. It went well but I've already switched to someone else. I read someone's post on here a while back about how important it is to have an AP with a background in fertility issues. The one I went to last week really didn't, so I found one who did. I've also been trying my meditation DVD's.

It's also very helpful to read all of your posts, so I thank you for that.

Take care, and I'll try not to lurk so much.

Bell-02- We have have male factor issues as well. My DH's sperm count is only 7mil with less then 5% motility. He has been on clomid and drinking ProArgi for the last 10 months and his count went to 17mil However it did nothing for his motility. The embryologists said he had to pan out him sperm just to be able to find anything at all moving. We only needed to find 3 sperm since I only have 3 eggs to fertilize. What we are doing is freezing, freezing, freezing. Is your DH on any meds? I know that some other DH's are on some type of vitamins. My RE said it takes 3 months of meds to affect the sperm. Also, my AP said she would like to get her hands on my DH cause AP can help with the sperm issues as well. Maybe ask you AP and she what he/she says.

Hello, ladies i believe i found where i belong. A little hx. I have 2 kids from a previous marriage. Now my dh and I are trying to have children BUT my tubes are tied! So trying ivf, gone through all the pre-testing now on the birth control awaiting my app. on the 25th of july to recieve further instructions. I am in a test study so my medication is free :D So my doc. is telling me i will not be taking lupron and will take only injections. I guess the next step is taking the meds and monitoring. Good evening ladies,

What a busy day for me! Finally the sun showed its pretty face today and I managed to get a lot of work done! But I came home late and had so much to do!

Busy day on our board too! I like to see that.

Welcome JJJake ! Lots of great ladies on this board and we're ready to help you !

babyloves~ Don't get discouraged about your embies, it's still a good report! If you'll have four in the end, it will be great! As they say, you only need one, sounds cliche but it's so true. Good luck, you're in my thoughts.
I had major pain after ER, on a scale of 1 to 10, I was at a 12 ! Un-bear-able. I do believe mine twisted on itself and it was pain like I never had before. I dread the next ER because I don't want to experience that again.

jharris~ Still doing terrific! Grow follies, grow. Wow, that's a lot of visits to your RE! Sure keeps you busy and updated!

SueQiwi~ I'm sorry you're feeling down...maybe you can talk to your friend and explain to her the way you feel, she might understand. But now that the cat is out of the box, you're unfortunately going to have to deal with those sorts of things. it just twist your heart inside so bad and no way to prevent it, it seems. I think we're all like that...just super sensitive to all of it. It's still a good thing to have opened up, you won't regret it because those same people can offer you great support!
Hang in there and if they don't understand, you know we all do!

Bell-02~ Good to hear from you! You've got a lot of frosties!! Surely they will be fine once they're thawed. Don't worry about another cycle now as you surely do not need it! You'll be just fine...talk to us and maybe you'll feel better! So stop lurking and start talking  I'm glad you changed AP and went to one that specializes in infertility! Very important!

JJJake~ What medications will you be on? Do you have a feel for when you will start your stims? I'm starting stims on Aug 7, so I'm not too far behind you. Ask all the questions you want and we'll help you!

As for me, my AP substitute came to my house today and we had a good session, I liked her and I feel in good hands in the meantime. So that was a relief for me. Otherwise not much new going on.

I also watch So You Think You Can Dance. I like it a lot and choreography would have been something that I'd like to do. I often hear music and see dance at the same time. I've got 2 left feet except in my head. There are some beautiful dancers on the show and some pieces have brought me to tears. I melt for contemporary...the expression of feelings through movement, that's just too gorgeous.

Coco, Rinnie ~you girls are still missing in action! Hope all is well for you and you're in my thoughts!
To all the other girls, keep in touch!

Have a good night and talk to you tomorrow.

hi all, haven't posted much lately..finding it hard to keep up on this busy site ! (that's a wonderful thing though). and been trying to keep my life 'simpler', as i'd been having trouble sleeping, winding down after work, and closing down my busy brain. so less time on the computer helps although i miss being more involved and up to date on everyone's happenings.

sue and a few others- i so relate to the jealousy! sometimes it feels like an absolute evil that quickly surfaces in me. i'm normally such a kind person, but when hearing about 'those fertile normal folk' , i can get enormously pissy and bitter. it's awful! and some people are just not sensitive or just can never understand. for me, overall, it's been a good choice telling more people about our struggles, as i just got sick of pretending everything was 'fine' and pretending that as a 36 yr old i wasn't that into kids...but sometimes i regret others knowing.

bell- glad you're lurking...

baby loves- my last cycle i got pregnant with only 2 mature follies, the RE's suggested i save my $ for a donor cycle and not even go to retrieval!! so i sure showed them! (even though i m/c'd at 12 wks).. so you just never know what will happen. of course, the more the better odds, but you just need 1 good one... i just kept telling myself "miracles happen all the time in this world..and i'm available for a miracle". so i'll be sending miracle energy your way.

hoping and jharris- looks like wonderful progress..i'll be thinking of you as things progress.

to everyone else- all the best..sorry for no further personals for now..take care, karen
