I finally got my results today--BFP!!! :D :D Beta of 246!! This news is definately worth the wait! My next appointment is Monday and hopefully my beta will double. It's one hurdle after another--but in the meantime, I am so relieved! Hope there is more news to come--especially for those who also tested their beta today. Thanks for everyone's support--definately made this journey a lot easier!

Thank you for all of the support....since the news I continue to feel worse...which doesn't make sense to me. I guess the reality of it is setting in and now I don't wonder "maybe I am" rather "I know I'm not." We've planned a trip to see family in NJ and although I think it will be good I'm not sure about being with my hubby's cousin who has 8 month twins. I just want to crawl into a dark space and ache. I didn't realize how painful it would be with bad news b/c doind IUI wasn't so tough. Why is it so hard this time?

Congratulations are in order (again!!) This is proving to be a room of really sticky embryos and super strong baby dust. Luckily there is a lot more baby dust going around.

tburks Your numbers sound great! Now more waiting. Hopefully this time the wait won't be as agonizing as the 2ww.

Kikie and Brit1612 Yipee! Congratulations on the BFPs. I think Brit1612 is carrying multiples. That's great 2 for the price of one. As for the progesterone, there are certain numbers that doctors claim means healthier pregnancy. Progesterone is something the ovary normally makes after ovulation to sustain the pregnancy until the placenta takes over. However, because the the process of IVF only mimics the real thing sometimes the levels aren't up to par. Luckily it comes in a bottle and the pregnancy can be sustained with extra shots in the rear. However, different clinics have different protocols my first RE didn't check levels AND he didn't use estrogen supplements, either. But he has a fairly high success rate. My second RE does. What you should focus on is staying stress free.

Siouxsie I don't know if I want to name names on a public forum. I didn't have a good vibe with them but that's just my personal experience. Someone else that I know is 3 weeks away from delivery using the same clinic. I actually loved the doctors -- they were very personable and seemed very confident. However I didn't like that I got scanned by a nurse practioner and that she made the choice of when my next scan was. They would get together in the afternoon and do a "chart review" with the doctors to see who needed more medicine. My new place I got a scan every fricking day during the stims. Only the RE did the scans and they decided what meds needed adjusting on a daily basis. I'll just say that the clinics are located in San Diego.

Congratulations!

Your new clinic sounds much better. For the prices we pay, we sure deserve first class service. Are you still on bed rest or are you up and about?

Jgoch
Your reaction is totally normal. It’s okay to be angry and sad. It feels like it’s such a simple thing to want, and so impossible to get. Nothing seems fair. Let yourself grieve as long as you need to.

Certainly it’s up to you and your husband, but I wouldn’t rush into spending time with other’s babies until you’ve healed a little more. I know I didn’t want to be around any one and it took everything I had to even go to a wedding of friends we’ve had for over 20 yrs . Even seeing a pregnant lady was incredibly hard. The babies won’t know the difference if you don’t visit right now. Maybe you could plan your trip to do other things in the day and visit his cousin at night when the babies are sleeping?

She said we are about 5 weeks. So we are pretty excited.

Hi everyone.

Congrats to the newest BFP! Every night I say a prayer for all my friends on this message board. I hope everything continues to go well for everyone that got BFP and for those with negative tests you are all in my thoughts and I know it will happen at the right time.

I had my first ultrasound today. We saw the gestational sac and the yoke as they call it. They said everything looks good for 5 weeks. I go back in a little over a week on March 3rd and they said at the ultrasound we should see a heart beat. I am so excited everything looks good. I was also told we can stop all restrictions. So I can do some light exercise and we can have sex. I know my husband is excited about that but I am nervous. I know it can't word the baby but I still am nervous.

Ert- congats on the good ultrasound! If your doc says it is ok then I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Barbd- congrats on your ultrasound also, I can't wait to go to my first. It seems like you wait forever for the test, then for the ultrasound, then for the heartbeat.... it is never ending

Siouxsie- when do you go back in?? Is the nex visit an ultrasound or will you continue to go for blood levels?

ionlywant1- I am trying to stay stress free, I am more curious than anything. I feel very positive, and the least stressed out of all my cycles.

Kiki- congrats on your BFP!!!

I think this is the most bfp's in one group that I have ever seen!!

I go back in Tues for my second beta and hopefully the prog. levels will be back up. Then on Thurs. I will have my first ultrasound! It is only less than a week away and I wish it would hurry and get here.
After 7 attempts (2 negatives/3 miscarriages), we have TWO miracle boys!! If you would like to hear our story, please visit http://www.ivfsuccessstories.info. Never give up, it can happen for you!!

I am 34 and husband 37. We did iui 3 times. Neither of us have children. We are on our fist IVF cycle. We love our doctor and all the staff at the center we go to so that is a plus. Anyway, looking forward to heaRING FROM YOU.

The wait is excruciating! I know that all of you can relate. BarbD and *Ert* congratulations on your ultrasounds today. Looks like you are both were you need to be in terms of the developing baby. BarbD I'm still holding out for twins for you. Carmen had an early ultrasound and a week later they found twins. I would like twins but that would be a miracle since I only had one embryo. Just as well, I had a friend who measured bigger around than she was tall. But she had a nice set of 8lb twins in the end (spontaneous) and vaginally to boot (ouch!)

Thanks for updating the list Siouxsie. There has been a lot of positive activity on our board recently. Hopefully as we are entering the ultrasound phase, that trend will continue. Thank you for inquiring about me. I'm officially off bedrest and are more up and about. Will be going back to work and hopefully no more bleeding. I'm just a little embarrassed because one of my symptoms is bad bloating and (sorry to say) gas!! At home its no problem but I'll just have to find a way around it at work. I tried cutting out gassier foods from the diet but it just finds a way out. Thank god DH has sinus problems.

JennLB I hope your mom is doing better. I pray for a speedy and complication free recovery.

Brit1612 I'm glad that this is not stressful. Heck, with the number that you posted on the beta I'm sure all the frosties took.

Jgoch The word I used to describe my mood when my cycles failed was: empty. It wasn't a permanent empty because my world is very full despite the IVF. It just took time and acceptance. I used a journal to put my feelings into words. I don't let anyone read it but it made me feel better. I agree with Siouxsie that it might be premature to visit a relative with young babies given your current state of mind. They might be even livelier to visit when they're a little older.

Welcome Mendy to our little virtual family of sorts. Eat lots of ice cream and stay as free from stress as you can.
