Mt - Goodluck on your ultrasound monday. I know the wait is horrible. I don't plan on doing much at all this week. I just want the tear to heal. A friend I work with had twins. She had a major tear and was on bed rest for 3 months. I really don't want that to happen.

Ian/Cymplicity - Any of those days in August will work for me. It sounds like fun!

I have been really uncomfortable sleeping too. DH and I went to walmart yesterday and got a body pillow. It didn't help me much last night because I was having a bad headache again so that kept me awake. DH was giving me tylenol at 2am. I really hope the headaches ease up soon.

aims, still getting headaches here too. They've been particularly annoying lately. It goes down into my neck and shoulders. Tylenol is still working for me though. The body pillow isn't working for me because it's still not really supporting my belly. Although I'm not that big yet, it still feels like my belly is pulling a lot if I lay on my side. I think I'm going to try one of those wedge pillows.

cymplicity - I agree the headaches are annoying. I was getting really nauseous from the one I had last night and through this morning. Mine have also been the back of my neck into my shoulders but also in the front. I'm still getting use to the body pillow. I felt comfortable with it except when I want to turn to my other side. Then it was a pain. I didn't think I was that big until today when someone noticed I was showing. lol. Let me know how you like the wedge pillows if you get one.

Tara - Glad to hear your first trimester screening came out good. I didn't have any of those tests but didn't someone say they only do them at certain ages?

tests

aims - though anybody can take these tests, it is mostly adviced for women over 35 since the risks are higher.

Hi ladies! Anyone have appointments coming up soon? My next appt isn't until June 25...3 weeks away! I'll have another u/s and the triple screen (they'll draw blood and run some test to see if there's a need for further testing, amnio or cvs). The waiting sucks! I can't help but feel nervous not knowing what's going on inside there. I feel fine other than a few twinges here and there but it's always so comforting to see the little ones moving about on the screen with strong heartbeats. :D

Oh yeah, I signed up for something pretty interesting yesterday. The University of North Carolina is doing a study on brain development of twins. All I have to do is come in for 2 ultrasounds (one 2nd trimester and one 3rd trimester) where they'll do anatomy scans and measure the babies' brains. They pay $50 and travel expenses per visit. Then once the babies are born I take them back 3 more times (once as a newborn, 1yr of age and 2 yrs of age) for assessments and MRI's. There are no drugs or any type of physical harm to the babies and I get to collect $600 over time :D. They say it's to use the information they collect from my babies' healthy brains to study and help those babies with brain abnormalities. Not sure if any of you are nearby medical university but you may want to look into some of the studies they conduct for a little extra cash. There were 2 different studies at UNC for pregnant women alone.

Well I hope you're all having a great week! I'm definitely looking forward to the weekend!!! :D :D

Hey Cynthia, my next appointment isn't until the 25th either- it totally stinks! I think that is just awesome you have the opportunity to participate in the study, I only wish I lived closer to one- I live about an hour or so from Notre Dame and 2 hours away from IU.

I'm psyched b/c we finally got a sitter for Ian this summer, she will be a senior next year and is up for toting him here and there whenever they want to get out of the house. I tend to be a little OCD, but she seems very mellow, which will be good for him.

Worry never stops when you've got kiddos.

Nicole, that's awesome that you were able to find some help this summer. That's cool that we have appointments on the same day! Do you know when your anatomy scan will be? Do you want to find out the sex?

Is everyone else planning to find out the sex? I definitely am!! I have my anatomy scan on July 23rd and I can't wait!! My best friend is due Aug 4th with her first and she didn't want to know. I guess it would be cool to have that surprise in the delivery room, but I am a planner and I need to know as much info up front :D .

Tara, I total missed your update! So glad baby is doing well AND that you don't have to do the CVS or amnio!

Cynthia: We will schedule the anatomy scan on the 25th... nope, we won't find out until delivery- we think it's one of the last and best suprises we get to enjoy.... I'm just hopeful the tech will keep their mouth shut and not leak it on accident.

Hi Everyone!

So far I think the spotting has stopped. Such a relief. I have my next OB checkup on June 30th and an ultrasound two weeks after that. DH and I plan on finding out the sex of the twins. We should hopefully find out at our next ultrasound. It would be fun to have it as a surprise but neither one of us can wait. lol

Nicole, you're so strong and patient  Like Tara, I'm ready to pick out names and other things. For your sake though, I hope the tech doesn't spill the beans

Oh, I think we're still going to pick out names, we did that last time- we'll try to have it narrowed down to 3 names for a girl and a boy, or just one "unisex" kind of name.... I'm totally NOT a patient person! I just know it will be here before I know it!!!

I was laying in bed this morning on my back and was shocked when I felt my belly and it was almost completely flat! I threw the covers back and told my DH to come take a look. He goes " wha..what happened?!" It was the funniest thing. He's use to my belly looking different everyday but neither of us had seen it this flat in a while. I actually have on some regular jeans today BUTTONED and for now they feel quite comfortable. I guess I'm just not as bloated as usual. Guess I should enjoy it while I can? :) Based on pics I've seen on the net, I'm expecting to really start to show around week 16. We'll see!

Is anyone starting to show yet? Just when I think I am, it disappears. I'm ready for it already! Regular clothes are too snug usually and maternity too big.

Cynthia: I say enjoy it, 'cause once it's gone- believe it or not, you'll pine for it! :) I think it's getting out of the 1st trimester constipation and bloating, etc.... I've got normal pants on, but they're a 10 and I'm an 8, or was! I'm ready for MOVEMENT!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot wait to see who on this thread gets it 1st!

Cynthia - I would say enjoy it too! I'm starting to show a little bit. One person at work has noticed I was showing but usually just DH and I notice. I'm ready for movement as well!
