here i am! since i haven't been feeling so exhausted anymore, i've really needed to put a lot of time into work and school.

i've been having the spotting too! i spent wednesday night in the ER b/c by the time the spotting started the dr's office was getting ready to close. i'm with you guys, every time it happens i get super freaked out. but, i was told by the ER doc, (whose sister just had IVF triplets last year, and the doc herself is currently stimming and going for ER next week) that bleeding with multiples is even more common than bleeding with a singleton. i just started spotting again a few minutes ago and i'm trying to talk myself down. at least we get lots of ultrasounds...

speaking of ultrasounds, they are sooooo amazing! i could see both babies spines, brains, legs, arms, etc. one baby was trying to suck his/her thumb! i could watch them all day. dh suggested we buy an ultrasound machine, lol!

anybody addicted to "a baby story," "maternity ward," "i didn't know i was pregnant?"

my mother pissed me off and embarrassed me at the ER the other night. the triage nurse was asking me about the babies and i asked her if she had children to see if she could understand the feeling i was trying to describe. she said no. my mother told her how blessed she was that she didn't have kids. the nurse said, "I don't see it that way, but thank you." i told my mom that after all that i went through, how would she think that would make me feel if someone told me what she just told the nurse! i told her to keep her opinions to herself!

Hi all,

Sorry I've been quiet lately. The good news is that there's really not much going on. Yeah! (Considering my first pregnancy was full of speed bumps.) I guess I'm the last to have the NT...mine is on Tuesday. I'm just sooooo excited to get another sonogram!

I completely understand everyone's fear about spotting/bleeding. There still isn't a time that I go to the restroom that I DON'T check my underwear. I guess I'll be doing that up until delivery day.

My m/s is going away and the pounds are coming on. I've gained 5 so far...what about y'all? Still struggling with the desire to nap during the day.

Mjay - I'm totally hooked on all the baby shows. I just watch and cry...And not to worry about what your mom said, she was probably just trying to lighten the conversation during a really hard time. Some people just get nervous and spout silly things.

Anyone feeling flutters from their baby(ies)? I have a few times at night. Such a miracle!

Happy Sunday all!

M/S seems to be wearing off . . . hooray! Still pretty tired though . . . and I am totally showing . . . had to get one of those belly bands to help my pants fit . . .

still have a cough that I can't seem to get rid of . . . maybe it's due to all the mucus in my nose and body . . . pregancy nose, I think one of my friends called it . . . I wouldn't have it any other way! :D

Deftonesmo - What an AMAZING! u/s! Wow! I haven't had 4-D; my OB doesn't have one. whah! I'm hoping tomorrow's u/s will show our little one looking more like a baby than tadpole.

I have a horrible case of pregnancy nose! I have found sleeping with the ceiling fan on to be oh so helpful.

Mjay - I stay constipated. Ask your dr. if you can take Miralax or Colace. I'm sure if you are eating extra fiber and are still plugged, he/she will approve you to take this (they are easy on your system).

Ok, here's a topic that's soooooo TMI, but I haven't seen anyone else with it. With last pregnancy and already with this one, I have (it's hard to even type) vaginal hemmoroids. Anyone else? The hormones apparently cause irritation/itchy feeling with swelling. It's so dang annoying. Anyone else?

Deftonesmo: I love the u/s. Did you get it done at your ob office OR outside. Was it covered by insurance. My constipation is better with colace.

Faith- You out there? It's been awhile, how are the triplets?

How bout you, Fitz?

May- Oh so constipated. My mom suggested I get an enema because i'm that uncomfortable, even just moving around. I've pretty much been backed up since day 1. My uterus is tilted and I think it's tilted in a way that it's making it even harder to go. I take Colace and my prenatal vitamin, CitraNatal has a stool softener in it, but I find that it actually makes me cramp, so I went back to my storebought ones and continue to take Colace, which has been a teeny bit helpful, but better than nothing. If worse comes to worse, I may suck it up and get an enema (ewwww!)

deftones- Love the pic. Boo, I don't get 3d or 4d u/s either! I wish I did now, i'm so totally jealous! Looks like a boy to me! Ha ha, I know that pic was prob way too early to tell and i'm sure it's umbilical cord, but i'm going with it. I would post some pics, but they'd just be the good old black and white ones, no bells and whistles! I agree about the pregnancy nose. My doc says mucus increases everywhere when you're pregnant and gets thicker too.

Cheryl- Not yet for me, but with everything else i've experienced, as far as symptoms go, I wouldn't be surprised if those little suckers popped up soon! No flutters for me yet, but I keep trying to feel it so bad that sometimes I think I make it up in my head!

mjay- Yay! You're back! I'm glad you're okay. I understand the busyness with work and school, that's for sure! Don't give me a heart attack though, woman! Oh, the spotting and bleeding. I seriously hate it more than anything. What you said about multiples makes total sense though and it honestly made me feel so relieved! I felt way better after finding that out, my doctor never said anything. I have DVR'ed all episodes of a Baby Story while i'm at work. I watch them all the time. I steer clear of the scary ones like "Birth Day" because it freaks me out and makes me worry.

Well, I had my NT scan today. Sort of. I saw the maternal fetal specialist, they did the scan and did all the measurements and everything looks fine. The second part, the bloodwork, he told me not to do because I told him that if I tested positive, I wouldn't get an amnio because of the risk of miscarriage and he told me not to bother with the bloodwork then because why find out if something could be wrong and not follow it up with more testing, I guess. I understood that. I wasn't even sure until today that I wouldn't get an amnio, but when he said 5%, that number seemed too risky for me, considering i'm the type of person who always falls into those odds, I thought I better not. He said that there's plenty of other screenings around the 20 week mark that I can do that aren't so invasive, so i'm fine with that. I really only wanted to see my babies again anyway, so I didn't really care about much except seeing those little heartbeats! Anyway, both babies looked good, but when I asked about the sex(es), he took a look and those babies, I swear, knew what was coming and they clamped their legs up and crossed their feet so tight we couldn't get a look in there! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer. I go back to my OB on friday and I go back to the Maternal Fetal specialist every two weeks until January so that he can make sure my cervix is cooperating. 2 more days in the first trimester! Tick tock!

you ladies are so funny. loved the 4D pic! have absolutely no problems with constipation actually the opposite. i go to the bathroom numerous times a day. if i eat vegetables you can forget it! before i was pregnant i used to go only every other day.

jg- that's exactly why i didn't have the nt test done. i knew i wouldn't get the amnio so there was no need.

i'm so relieved to hear about all of us with multiples having spotting issues.

why did i think i was out of the first trimester at 12 weeks. all of my friends who didn't go through fertility think that too! but everything i read says 13 weeks.

I got the 4-D U/S as part of my NT screening . . . actually, I think it was more of a consolation prize since the baby was too small to mesaure for the NT screening and I had to come back . . . on my 2nd appt at the pre-nantal center, Baby was big enough to be measured and I didn't get another 4-D pic . . . Rats! Insurance covered it . . . I get another one around 18-20 weeks . . .

No constipation or hemarroids~yet . . . just a lot of fatigue and a little M/S . . .and my boobs are huge :D

Fitz - How scary! I can't believe how brave you are! I would want to go ahead and check into the hospital - ha. Did you still tell your OB. What is the reason for it?

My darn ticker is on the fritz again and it's a day behind! For some reason, I care about this! Probably because tomorrow is the second trimester!

mjay- I know what you mean, I thought that 12 weeks was the end of the first trimester too. I think that the confusion might lie with the rate of miscarriage dropping. I've heard that it drops at 12 weeks, so I think people assume that it's also the end of the first tri or whatever. I don't know, I could be making that up :-) I'm jealous of your lack of constipation. I feel like i'm doing everything I can, short of drinking prune juice (Yuck, it might come to it!), but still no results in the form of #2. I'm eating healthy, drinking as much water as i can, etc.

deftones- My boobs are ridiculous! I can't even fit into the bras that I bought a few weeks ago. I hate it, i was already "well endowed" to begin with and now I just look like an adult film star :-)

Fitz- Oh gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about the bleeding, it must be so scary and frustrating. I just have a little spotting from time to time now since my first scare a couple of weeks ago and even that's enough to make me cry. Hang in there, at least you can see that the babies are okay and maybe you'll just chalk it up to "I just bleed and that's that!" However frustrating that may be. I wish I had answers too, but i'm glad that you're getting great care. Just take it easy on yourself and take it one day at a time.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been posting, but I have reading. Nothing new or interesting here really. I had my NT scan last week and everything looked good. The identicals are likely sharing a placenta, which sucks...but I'm sure everything will be fine. I've really had no pain, no bleeding, nada. My only issue right now is head aches, which my Dr says is from not enough blood making it to my head. they gave me meds and I'm taking as needed.

I have totally gotten huge over the last couple weeks. I look about 5-6 months along and am only 13 wks 3 days. I think I've been feeling flutters, but can't be sure. I've scheduled a 4D scan for the 21st, which will be 15 weeks. They said they might be able to tell gender at that point. I'm going home to Mn for Thanksgiving and my mom is throwing me a shower in case I can't travel later. I also have my mothering multiples class this weeekend and next. Things are REALLY moving fast! I even had my first dream holding my babies and nursing. it was so cool..although they could talk and stand as newborns....

I hope everyone experiencing issues finds resolution soon and I will try to get better with the posting!!
It's Triplets!
