Pauline,
I am on bc pills (same effect as your sniffing) and also am spotting oddly along the way. Since this didn't happen the first time until closer to the end, I asked my doc about it. He said very normal and not to worry.

I understand completely what you mean. My cycles have been 100% regular my whole life and now these drugs have me checking my pants on a daily basis. I have to fight the urge to worry about it. Have to trust the docs.

Are you feeling okay, in spite of the spotting? Do you feel pretty normal?

Hi Pauline,

I'm on the same time-scale as you and I only started AF today but it's not as bad as my usual AF. Maybe it will kick in tomorrow? I was worried that I was really late considering this is my third week of down-reg?

My nurse told me that irregularity is normal but it's still worrying isn't it?

Maybe I will have to carry on down-regging for another week :(

Post ET cramping

Post by T.J. »

Hello Everyone. I have been enjoying reading this board since our decision to try IVF. I have finally decided to post since we are in the 2ww. We had our ET on 04/23/05 - (2 8-cell embies). Test date is May 5th. This is our first time with this entire process. I have had menstrual like cramping for the past 24-48 hours (scale of 1-10, with 10 being the worst, cramps have averaged 6 - 8). The doctor's office said it is probably my ovaries trying to get back to normal size (they produced 32 eggs). Has anyone had this after their ET? I know there are different ways to read into this symptom - I would love to hear from anyone who has felt something similar.

It's Great to be an official cycle-buddy!

Hi TJ

Welcome to the site - you will find it a valuable place over the next few days.

The signs you are talking about are very common with a lot of us. There is no definitive list of what you should and shouldn't be experiencing so unfortunately it is difficult to say what a good sign is :x

Just remember take care of yourself, keep full of PMA and stay as strong as possible.

We're all here for you.

I'm doing a list of people testing in May - would you like me to add you to it?

Little P -

Thank you for your welcome and words of encouragement. Absolutely . . . you can add me to the list of those testing in May. We have committed to 3 cycles, if necessary which makes a PMA a little easier.

TJ,
WELCOME! Doubt you'll need 3 rounds with the kind of success you are already having... and at 38 years of age!!!
Getting 32 eggs, plus putting in 2 "8" cell embryos puts the odds in your favor considerably!
I've only been on this board since Feb, but from everything I've read and everything my docs are telling me - you are in a GREAT position!
Please excuse if you already knew that.
Congratulations!

Randa,

Thank you for your optimism. I am so new to this that I am still trying to figure out what things I can be cautiously optimistic about.

Unexplained Infertility - explanation?

Post by T.J. »

To those of you diagnosed with "unexplained" . . .

As this is our first try with IVF, we found it interesting that none of the 16 eggs fertilized which were left to do it naturally (not sure of the technical term for this procedure). ICSI was used on the other 16 which ultimately gave us 3 good 8-cell embryos (we choose to put back 2 this first time around). We are hoping we have just discovered the answer to our "unexplained infertility" after having 1 child/daughter (7 1/2 years old now) and no luck on our own or via IUI since then.

Has anyone else ever experienced this outcome?

Hi Mayflowers,

Randa, Apart from the spotting & being moody I'm fine :!:

Alison, I hope your cycle isn't delayed.

Joy, welcome so nice to have someone else to be on the 2ww with. The more the merrier :)

TJ, wow you are lucky, I only made 3 eggs on my first cycle and only 2 of them fertilised with ICSI. Hopefully this time I will make more, they are increasing my stimming dose & I will be doing ICSI again this time. This will be my last cycle of IVF.

Hi all had my et yesterday went very well after getting only 4 eggs and 3 fertilised I was so worried they would be bad quality but they were grade 2 8 cells the et was v.easy and painless and specialist said we have a very good chance so after all the bad news about numbers off eggs i am so happy.

Hi TJ .. Welcome to the site. You've joined at a critical time. The dreaded 2ww !!!!! You've had a bumper crop of eggs, haven't you ? 32 ! - Gosh. You must have been bursting ? Don't worry about the cramps. I only had 20 odd eggs, and couldn't stand up straight for 5 days. Then day 5-7 really bad AF feeling. Thought it was going to start at any minute but it didn't. On day 8 the feeling subsided. This has happened on 2 separate cycles, exactly the same thing. Don't worry (ha !) and the very best of luck for 5 May.

Tyler ... Good to hear your ET went smoothly. Now, make sure you get lots of rest. Your body needs it after all it's been through.
