Kim

Good to hear from you and to see that you're feeling a tad better.

I can't believe how close you now are - it seems to be coming round really quickly at the moment doesn't it?

It's amazing how much we've got done already, just the final touches and we're ready for Little One!!

Got a few of my cravings back at the moment and a weird one - I usually hate chocolate as it doesn't agree with me, but suddenly I can't get enough of the stuff - has chocolate always tasted this good I wonder!!!

Anyway, hope you aren't too uncomfortable and that you are managing to get some rest.

Hugs

Little P

Hi all

Kim - can't believe you're so close - how exciting - I haven't been on this thread until now so I'd lost touch a bit with how far on people were. Best of luck with the exciting event ahead.

Lil P - how are you? I've not been been too well - I'm anaemic and exhausted and I've had a bad cold too! Are you on iron tablets or anything like that? They sent me a prescruiption through post following my blood test and just told me I had low blood count which sent me into blind panic cos I didn't know what it all meant!

Smita - hope you had fantastic time with DH over New Year. How are amniotic levels? All good I hope. I was reading in my baby book about levels of fluid cos I was worried about you and it was saying that it's very common and no danger to baby, just needs keeping an eye on. Are you feeling okay about everything? Are you getting lots of good reassurance from doctor.

Jacs - sorry to have raced ahead, I suddenly realised that I was 28 weeks so moved across - I'd forgotten all about it after all that waiting! Its lovely to have made it this far isn't it? I just wish I could get some rest, my little ones so active, it never sleeps!

Hi to everyone else - I need to catch up with everyone elses news so apologies for not doiing personals for everyone. I've just had my second attempt at 3d / 4d scan but still no good as my placenta is anterior which means it blocks view of baby. Bit of a waste of money in the end - I didn't realise how touch and go they are - I thought you can do 3d on everyone but for some people it just doesn't work! My baby obviously wants to keep its anonymity until the big day!!

Anyway, I'm off now to have birthday meal with family - I keep getting thrilled about the fact that this is my last birthday before I'm a mummy - hurrah, hurrah, hurrah, can't wait

love to all

My fluid levels will be checked next on the 13th- I'm going to gozzle water and fluids until then.. the docs arent too worried, which is a relief- the iv fluids did help a lot to bring up the levels..

Minnow, I hope youre settled in your new house by now- not long yay!

Cheryl

Sorry you're not feeling top drawer at the moment and that you are having to take tablets - at least you know they are for the right reasons.

Take care of yourself and I hope that the cold clears up soon.

Smita

Great to see you back again - I bet you had a wonderful time with DH and what a special New Year's celebration for you both - being together.

Good luck with the next check up - will keep everything crossed that you get some good news.

Hope you are all ok.

Love and hugs

Hi everyone

I'm not quite ready to be over here yet, but since I don't really know anyone on the 2nd tri thread I thought I would come over a week early.
Sorry I have not been around over christmas and new year but we have moved house and I have been internetless for weeks.
I have a lot of catching up to do but I'm glad everyone seems to be doing ok and apart from Carla's little men there hasn't been any unexpected arrivals.

The next months are going to be so exciting with so many babies due.

As for me, things have been a bit rubbish. i have been diagnosed with SPD and over the last few weeks I am hardly able to walk at all. It is a bit infuriating as having moved miles away I could really do with getting out and about and meeting some new people.

My boy seems to be doing fine but is measuring a bit small. Some days he is really active and others very quiet, does anyone else find this?

Anyway I will carry on with my catching up, to see what else I have missed.
Cheryl - belated happy birthday, I am a capricorn too, My b'day is on wednesday.

Happy Birthday Olivia - congrats on your house move. I also get days where very little movement and others where baby does not sleep at all - sure you're fine. Where did you move in the end? Where will your maternity clinic be? Sorry yuo're in so much pain - I have a similar thing but at the back - some days I can't walk at all. Did you ever have acupunture in the end? I'm still having mine and it really helps with the ligament pains etc.

Hello to everyone else - thanks for birthday messages. I'm really chuffed today cos I've had a letter through telling me I'm entitled to maternity allowance which is a great bonus cos I wasn't expecting anything. Did anyone else give up work to pursue treatment and is UK based? If so you may be entitled to it too - it's £108 a week for 6 months - a great blessing! Hope everyone's doiing great. Has anyone heard from Esther lately?

Much love,

Cherylxxx

Good to see you back in full flow again - we've missed your cheery posts here. Not long now till your check-up - keeping everything crossed that you get some good and encouraging news.

I had another blood test yesterday and got some good news - they've taken me off the final daily injection - so now I am injection free. I am so happy because my GP was slightly concerned about me still being on the anti-coagulation - yeah!!! :D

Off to have a lovely, relaxing manicure in a few minutes and then properly back to bed for some rest later. I seem to be getting very tired in the afternoons at the moment!!!

Big hugs to you all.

Kim,

I'm so thrilled for your approaching due date! It's quite an exciting time I'm sure! I went 5 days overdue and it just surprised us as it just happened without intervention. So get things in order as much as you can and pack your bag if you haven't already. I truly hope the labor goes easy for you. Please keep in touch!

Smita,

I hope you are getting along well. We got lots of neutral colors at our baby shower and I could not wait to get out and buy pink and purple when we found our baby turned out to be a girl. I honestly feel this is a learning experience for both Meagan and I. As a first time mom I have lots to learn. Staying home is a bit of an adjustment. I'm actually going to tell my employer this week that I'm not coming back to work. That will be a bit hard since I really liked my coworkers and I have to get used to idea of being home without an income of my own. This was a decision made by DH and I as day care is very expensive here and we wanted the best for Meagan and that is for me to stay home. Best of luck to you!

Take Care Ladies!

Sounds like everyone is doing well. I had my 36 week check up yesterday and the baby is positioned nicely. I seem to be extremely exhausted lately and don't have to do much to get this way. It was somewhat encouraging to see others are tired as well.

It is nice having something to look forward to after the holidays. DH still hasn't taken down the tree or decorations. :)

I have this feeling that I will deliver later than Feb. 1, but it is just a gut feeling. My girlfriend who just had a baby said to not expect to deliver on your due date so you are not upset when the date passes.

Olivia - Welcome to the third trimester!

Kim - Best of luck to you on labor and delivery. Of course you will let us know how you got along. . .

Little P - Great news on not having any more daily injections!

Christine - Enjoy this time at home and never look back. That is what I intend to do also.

Take care everyone.

Sher

Excellent news to hear that the baby is in the right position - such a relief for you!!

I can totally relate to the tiredness - I just can't believe that doing nothing leaves me exhausted!!! Well, nevermind I'm just going to make the most of this opportunity to rest, rest and rest.

Take care of yourself and good luck with everything.

Kim

Fingers crossed for you - sending loads of hugs your way and looking foward to hearing your news.

Christine

Enjoy this time - Meagan sounds like great fun!

Big hugs to all

Hi all!
Joining you all girls on the 'tired and drained' feeling.. and that too without doing much..
Even standing up seems to be a problem at times and I just want to sleep sleep sleep!!

Sher, Glad your lil one is in the right position.. You know what you said about not expecting to deliver on due date got me thinking as I've been hoping for selfish reasons that i deliver early..I guess I better start getting reconciled that it may happen later as well..
I just want to have this baby, stay for a minimum period and then get back to dh..

Kim,
Any news yet?

LilP,
Hows you doing? We're almost there huh?Congratulations on not having to take those daily injections.( I'm still on heparin daily- wonder if they'll take me off this coming friday..I'm also still on baby aspirin..)
Must be a huge relief to you.. yippee..

Christine,
Not going back to work is probably the best decsion you'll have made for Meagan as I only hear about how much the first 3-4 months with mom help each little one gain confidence..
Maybe if your boss is good, then you can go back when you feel ready in case you miss work lots..

Hope everyone else is doing fine!

Yes - I'm thrilled to be off the injections - after 34 weeks of them it was a lovely surprise to be told to forget about them now!!!

Hope you get to stop them soon as well - how long have you been taking them?

Well, another day dawns - big hugs to you all, take care of yourselves.

Hi everyone

My due date isnt until next Tuesday (17th) so Ill probably still be waiting next week!! Can completely relate to the tiredness everyone is feeling!
I feel really heavy in my pelvic area which I must say can be very uncomfortable! Constantly going to the loo! Had another check with the midwife today. BP is still ok and baby appears to have changed sides overnight, and she says its back is now more anterior, so fingers crossed that I wont have to suffer a back to back labour!

Cheryl - Its a shame about your scans. My placenta is anterior as well. Not had any problems with normal hospital scans, but not had any 3D/4D scans. Just wanted to pass on some tips, if you are interested. I had 'borderline' hb levels at 14 weeks, so they did further blood tests to double check my iron levels and I was ok. I was told (and have read somewhere) that Nettle tea can help with iron levels. I was also chatting with my midwife friend after my blood test at 28 wks about how my iron levels appeared to be ok now and I was expecting them to be lower at this stage. We were discussing how I was eating more chocolate now than I did before I was pregnant and she said this could have helped!! (Dark chocolate is better for Iron I believe!!). The other thing I wanted to mention, I read in Janet Balaska's Active birth book that babies like to face their placenta in utero. This can mean then if you have an anterior placenta, your baby may prefer to have its back to your back, which can mean a more painful labour if it doesnt turn for the birth. I think most babies will turn in time, but I have been worried because mine had remained back to back for a while. Apparently how you are sitting/positioned later on in pregnancy can help. Sitting on a birth (or exercise ball-same thing) all fours positions, moving your hips around (like a belly dancer)-these are all in a yoga video I have been doing. Apparently slouching back on a settee with your knees higher than your hips is the worst position-it can encourage your baby to lie in the back to back position. Sorry its a bit of a long post, but thought you might be interested! Happy Birthday by the way!

Smita - Glad you had New Year with your DH. Wont be long until you are all together as a family! Hope you will still post when you go back home? We will have to all stay in touch and compare parenting tips!!!
Hope your scan goes ok on the 13th. Its reassuring that doc's arent too worried about the fluid levels.

Olivia - Good to see you here and Happy Birthday to you too! Sorry to hear about your SPD pain. A woman in my NCT class also suffered from it and it sounded very painful. I can imagine its very frustrating not been able to get around. Im similar to Cheryl - I have the pelvic pain at the back. Acupuncture is really good you know. So Id second Cheryl on trying it. It helped me with hip pain I had before getting pregnant.
Just to add what everyone else has said re their babies movements. Mine also has quiet days, then when I start to get a bit worried, seems to have a really active spell the next day! The rib kicking can really hurt!
Thats reminded me - I was telling my mum about how the kicking in the ribs could really hurt and she told me she remembered one woman who was quite little, pregnant with a big baby which managed to break a rib by kicking! they couldnt do anything, so she had to cope with it until the baby was born! Ouch! Look after yourself.

Little P - A manicure sounds wonderful! In fact any sort of pampering does! Happy shopping. Im still thinking of things that 'will come in useful', or just cant resist! I can see DH's face when Ive dragged him out shopping and i start saying 'Maybe this would be a good idea for the baby.....' Excellent news on coming off the injections. I found it bad enough just for the short time while doing the IVF cycle. You must feel like a pin cushion!

Christine - Good for you giving up work! Im lucky that I get 6 mths paid maternity leave, then 6 mths unpaid (Which me and DH have worked out we should be able to manage), so dont have to worry about going back (if i decide to!) for 12 months. Im packed and ready for the birth now. Its the not knowing when she will arrive thats the frustrating part! Keep in touch-we will all be relying on you for advice!

Sher - It is nice to have our babies following christmas isnt it? When everyone is feeling a bit down after all the festivities, we have so much to now look forward to! Good to hear your baby is in a good position. Make the most of resting in your last few weeks!

Ill no doubt be updating again next week, unless this baby (hopefully) arrives before/on her due date. Then Ill let you all know how it went as soon as I can. Take care all!
