Thank you ladies for all of your kind sentiments and condolences. This week has been a challenge. And, just when you think things can't get worse....(Meinemo, I wish you were right about "no more stress")....

My OB is worried I am developing Pre-E. Apparently I had some protein in my urine on Tuesday so he had me return today. Now I have "a lot" although my BP is still normal. He says it could be "atypical Pre-E". I have been really nauseous this week as well and have not eaten much at all and vomited a couple times. He considered hospitalizing me today (AAAAAGGGHHH) but instead decided to have me do the 24 hr urine today/tonight and got me an appt with MFM for tomorrow to check on the LO's.

As it is I cannot sleep--between nausea and contractions and general discomfort. But he wants me to stop the Procardia to make sure it isn't masking a higher BP. Now, with not even a break from them I am sure I will not sleep a wink--not to mention the worry. OB says babies should be "fine" if we need to deliver them soon, but I really wanted to make it to 35/36 weeks minimum. Sigh. We shall see what things look like after tomorrow's appt. At best, he wants to see me nearly every day for monitoring....hopefully I will not end up in the hospital or worse, having to deliver soon. Prayers and good wishes accepted!!!

Margi, you are a trouper! I'm so sorry about the pre-e and now these complications. This pregnancy has really put you through the ringer! I'm glad you have this board to talk about your discomforts. It's a lot to handle on your own (even with your husband's support). I can't imagine what it's like.

All I can say is that you're lucky that you have such great medical care and that the babies are being so carefully monitored. Erring on the side of caution keeps everybody safe.

Once you see their sweet faces, all this will be water under the bridge.
Sending all my support to you.

Margi- I am so sorry to hear you are going through all of that. Im sure the added stress didnt help with things. Hopefully when you go back today both little ones are doing well and decide they can stay in longer. Even though hospital bedrest stinks its worth every day knowing they are going to be healthier. I know your goal was 35/36wks but youve done a great job so far so keep up the good work. Keep us posted on how things go today and how you are feeling.

Mamaboo- Glad that the appt went well and they are going to let you go to 39 wks- you will be meeting Denver in no time!! Im hoping I can keep these girls in another 7 wks and deliver around the same time as you.

Dallas- I am not sure about BH's....what I had originally thought were just BHs were apparently contractions which started happening around 20 wks or so. Luckily they had been monitoring my cervix and when there was a dramatic change from 3.0cm to 2.7cm down to 1.1...within 2 wks time thats when they decided to admit me to the hospital for observation. Glad they did because it turns out I was contracting every 2-3 minutes and was in PTL. I was admitted at 24wk6d.

Kat- Sorry to hear about the frustrations with your friends showers but Im sure they understand you cant be in two places at once. I never got a chance to comment on your pic but you are so teeny tiny!! That little belly is adorable!

Lou- Don't worry about the BFing. I think just trying is all you can do. Dont beat yourself up. I know you will still be the best mother to Chloe!! My heart palpitations have gotten better...still contracting but think they are under control for now. I really do need to post a pic of my huge belly...since ive been in the hospital Ive definitely slacked on my weekly belly photos.

Barbara- Brooke is getting sooo big!! I love how cute she looks with her little hands behind her head. Glad she is doing well.

kjm- So glad those babies are doing well. They were so cute and tiny in those pics.

Rio- How are you and Lizzy??

Ashley- Still hanging in there? You are getting so close to meeting Athena!!

SD- Not much longer for you until you meet the little one!!

AFM- Hit 29 wks yesterday!! Slowly but surely we are trying to make it to our next goal- 32wks!! Still having contractions that like to get close together and then spread out every few days. Last night we had 5 hours of every 7 min, so they upped the procardia and waited for them to spread out again. Girls both got an 8/8 on their BPPs yday, but other than that not much going on here. Hope everyone is doing well.

SD -- Thanks for the reassurance on the BFing. I still can only get a drop or two of milk. We are going to be feeding formula exclusively from now on as it isn't worth the stress at this point.

Kat -- Ah, so the "no milk" thing happened to you too? Then I guess my OB wasn't feeding me a line of BS...lol. Glad your kids are healthy. Makes me feel better about my decision to stop trying to BF. Sorry you couldn't hit up both baby showers for your friends... but I think your solution is a good one. She will appreciate your effort for sure.

Mamaboo -- Glad Denver looks great... hooray for a 39 week cs!

Margi -- I'm sorry you're having a rough time. But you're almost there. I hope you do make your goal of 35-36 weeks but take comfort that even at this point, the babies are likely to be quite healthy and require little assistance in the NICU. I'll be thinking of you!

Ashley -- Anything happening over there? You are FULL-TERM mama!!!

Blair -- Thanks for the kind words on BFing. Glad the palps are better now if only the contractions would ease up a bit! You're doing great though. The 32 week milestone will be here soon.

AFM -- Just home enjoying my little princess. I call her "my boss" because everything I do revolves around her... when I eat, when I shower, when we run an errand, etc. DH's parents are babysitting tomorrow evening while we go to the wedding of some close friends. I wasn't sure I'd be able to attend but I'm glad I can. It will be nice to get out and I think my in-laws are pretty excited about spending time with her. Chloé is a great sleeper. I feed her at 10:30pm and put her down and then go to bed at 11PM. I set an alarm for 2am to feed her and usually have to wake her to do it. Then we're both back asleep by 2:30am. I do the same thing at 6am and then I get up for good at 8:30am, in time to shower and dress before her 9:30am feeding. We keep her up in the afternoons for at least an hour between her last two feedings of the day. I think that's what makes her sleep so well. Let's hope this pattern continues!

Lou,
Like your new ticker. :D
I am happy to know Chloe sleeps well at night. That's great so you can get good rest.
Don't worry too much about the BF. I don't know whether I will be able to breastfeed as my nipples are too small. My mom said I need to try pulling them a little daily but it hurts so I stopped doing it. Anyway, I have a friend her son just turned 2. She never breastfed and used formula from beginning and her son is so healthy and active... :D

Kat - what an unbelievable story!! That's amazing, and huge kudos to her for delivering her own baby! Just a couple days ago, the birthing center I'm going to be delivering at just delivered a baby born en caul (inside the intact bag of water)! I didn't even think that was possible. The lady did not even make it inside the birthing center and gave birth to her baby right there on the porch! Crazy.

Barbara - Brooke is gorgeous!! Love her little arms/hands behind her head pose! Too cute!

Margi - gosh, it's one thing after another for you, huh? So sorry to hear about all the difficulties you've had to endure lately and pretty much throughout this pregnancy. Congrats on reaching 33 weeks though! I hope you can bake those little miracles in there for a few more weeks - you're almost at the finish line, mama! But don't get there too soon! No cutting, okay?

Blair - Yes! I'm still hanging in there. I might be hanging in there for a while though, who knows! Congrats on reaching 29 weeks! I know how crucial each day is for those babies to stay snuggled in with mommy. Sorry to hear about those contractions. How far apart are they now? Are they painful? I'm not even sure if I've ever experienced BHs or if I'm just mistaking them for my baby moving, but I imagine the contractions you've been experiencing are no fun.

KJM - How are you handling the little ones? Getting into the swing of things yet? I know it'll be much different once DH goes back to work and your parents leave town, but I'm sure you'll be able to tackle it all. =]

Lou - Look at you! Already a pro! Glad to hear your little Chloe is such a good sleeper and you've got the schedule down! Hope you have a good time at the wedding! How is your incision/stitches? YES! I am officially full-term as of today! Now if only little Athena figures that out and plans to make her big debut.. More in AFM.

AFM - 38 weeks today and yes, still pregnant! Doing pelvic tilts have really been helping my back pain and I'm happy to say I'm not in a lot of discomfort, but boy am I ready to welcome her already! My mom just called me last night to give me the good news that she'll be able to visit me for a couple weeks after all! She does have some neurologic pain going on with her knees and feet, but her next doctor's appointment is not till November 1st! So assuming baby girl does not go past her due date, I'll have my mom to help us with our princess till at least the 31st of Oct. So.. I'm prayyying she does not go past 40 weeks! Drinking my red raspberry leaf tea and taking evening primrose oil all day, everyday in hopes of softening up that cervix! I keep telling DH that I need his *stuff* to help speed up the process, but I'm not sure he's up to it, lol. I don't blame him though, but still.. I want her out now more than ever so mom can see her and help us in transitioning to parenthood.

Just wanted to post a quick pic of my huge belly. Please excuse the fact that I didn't fix myself like normal given the hospital circumstances- I did shower but have been in bed all day.

Hi guys,

Sorry for lack of personals....I am currently in the hospital and will be here until the babies are delivered. :( At my appt today at MFM my BP was 170/88. Also the babies have grown very little since our last scan with them at 30 weeks. I was quite upset when I heard that. It clinched the decision to admit me however. They are still quite active and HB's are good, so we will take everything day by day. Delivery will happen when either I am in distress, or they are. It will most likely be c-section given the new complications.

So here I am. Feeling totally sick--nauseous, vomiting, can't eat anything and having contractions several times an hour that are often quite intense. My cervix doesn't seem to be "bothered" however as it is still 2.7!

Well, I just was given an Ambien to hopefully help me sleep so I better log off before I say anything I will regret.

Glad that I have wifi here!

Margi, I'm glad you have wifi too and can stay in touch with how you are doing. Most importantly you are in a good place where those nurses can look after you and those twins. Keep us updated and I will be checking back on how you are progressing. Just think soon you will be a new mother and those precious ones will be in your arms, embrace the moment. :D

Dallas- i never had BH with my twins. But my water also broke without me feeling a single contraction. So it all varies. From what i read BH can start anytime in 2 or 3rd trimesters.

Barbara. Brook is so cute!! I cant beleive how big she is getting.

Mamaboo that is great news about being able to go to 39 weeks! Good luck. Glad to hear dallas is doing great.

Blair. Congrats on 29 weeks. Keep baking those little ones. You are doing great. You look wonderful in your pic!!! You are still small and all belly! I hope the contractions have gone down again.

Lou. That is great that chloe is sleeping so well. So glad you are doing well at home. Have fun at the wedding.

Ashley. Thanks for your confidence in my abilities. I had a go at it for three hours tonight by myself during their "fussy" time. I did alright. I found that the crook of your knee works just as well as an arm for holding. As both wanted to be held but one was nursing so the other got held by my knee. Even managed to take pic for my dh. You figure out a way i guess. Anyday now you will be holding your little one. You have done a great job esp with all the stress of the move and dr, etc... Good luck! I am so glad to hear your mom is coming out to stay. It is wonderful having your mom around, there is no replacement. I did pelvic tilts my whole pregnancy and still do them everytime i pump. I never had back pain and my abs are starting to come back!!

Margi. Sorry to hear about the turn of events. But your babies are doi g well and they are taking good care of you. Hopefully you can keep the babies in atleast a couple more weeks. 34 weeks is really good from my nicu expierence. I know your goal is 36 to 37 weeks, mine was too but just know 34 is great. Also i dont know if you are going to bf but if you have premies your insurance may pay for rental or purchase of a breast pump. You may want to call and find out now so you can get that arranged. Im still mainly pumping and bottle feeding my twins! Good luck and i hope you. Are getting some better sleep. Sorry you are in hospital but sounds like the best. My you have had one exciting pregnancy. Hopefully that means smooth parenthood!

Kat, Rio and everyone else - hope all is well!

AFM. I am awake when should be sleeping. No good. I am just listening to my babies grunt and coo. We are doing well. No more spells for ella which is great. Hunter sometimes has a hard time whenhespits up clearing his nose and throat but is getting stronger. I still worry too much and sleep is limited but i try and nap during day when my mom can watch them. DH and i are going to go out tomorrow while my parents watch the babies. That will be nice. I still have a time limit due to having to pump. So all you moms that couldnt bf that is one big bonus for you! I will post new pics soon. Oh, ella is 6 pounds now. Hunter is around 5.5 pounds.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

I just re read my post. I hope i dont offend anyone with the comment on the good part of not breastfeeding. I know you all wanted to but for reasons you couldnt. I just always try and find the good in something even when overall it is bad. Hope that makes since and sorry if i did offend, i didnt mean it that way.
