Lou,
I have a question of 3D ultrasound. I am looking to get one done and searching for a good place that provides this service.
Where did you get yours done? Was it the one on the link below?
http://www.goldenviewultrasound.com/chicago.html
How was your experience?
Thanks!

I went to Prenatal View in Elgin, IL. My friend went there and recommended it. The tech Michelle used to work at my OB office and she is awesome! I would definitely recommend going there. I was told the best images are obtained at 28 weeks.

A question for the mommas: Did anyone do the Vitamin K drops instead of the shot? I was wondering what the protocol is for the drops (i.e. the frequency). I believe that at my birthing center, they only do shots, but I need to confirm this at tomorrow's appointment. I can't schedule a pediatrician appt until a week after the baby is born, but if she needs drops on the day of her birth, I need to find myself an alternative.

Thank you all for the well wishes!! And thank you Rio for making my announcement for me! :D

Wow...things were a whirlwind for me starting on Friday afternoon when I got admitted to hospital. Friday night I was up all night despite the Ambien with contractions...but they were only 8-10 minutes apart and I was figuring it was because I wasn't taking the Procardia. However, early in the morning, about 6am my contractions got closer together and more painful. They were about 3-4 minutes apart and oweee! so the nurse hooked me to monitor and paged on call OB. OB arrived in 20 minutes and I was 2 cm dilated. She also looked at monitor and Baby B (my Boy) was showing distress--lowered HR with each contraction so she said she wanted to do c-section within the hour.

I had been texting DH to no avail but now I called him and thank goodness he answered! Poor guy was asleep because he had been up most of the night doing work for work so he'd be ready in case the LO's came early. I am so glad that his phone wasn't off!!

I asked the OB to please page my OB even though he wasn't on call because he has been the best and with me every step of the way. Turns out his son had a soccer game, but he said he would try to come anyway.

So I was prepped for OR...scared to death...praying DH would arrive on time. As they were taking me in he arrived! :)

When I was getting my spinal--owwee!--my OB arrived as well.:) He came and literally held me while it was being placed. He is the absolute best OB in the world.

Before he started he pinched my belly and ouch! I could feel it. Anesthesiologist didn't believe me at first, but I insisted. I ended up getting 2 spinals because although my legs were both completely numb, my belly wasn't. I kinda think that is important before a c-section.

So...Baby A...my sweet girl....Sofia...came out first. At 33w3d she weighed 3lbs 9 oz. Then Baby B...my boy...Levi...a bit more difficult, he wouldn't come head first so had to be pulled out by his feet. Then my OB scared me with a somber "see that?!" to nurses. Turns out, he had a true knot in his cord. Gulp. It wasn't tightened, but as it was later explained to me, if I had tried to labor or if the pregnancy had continued it could have had tragic consequences if it had tightened. I get choked up when I think about it and how blessed we are that I went to hospital when I did and that they were delivered when they were.

He was 3 lbs 6 oz....he had always been about a week ahead and always weighed more than baby girl. So either the Pre-E was affecting him more, or the knot was decreasing his supply.

I am recovering well--in fact, in a lot of ways I feel better than I did while pregnant with Pre-E. I had been so nauseous and vomiting the last few days, headaches, swelling, etc.
Don't get me wrong, my incision hurts and I have weird "gas" pain in my shoulder, and my legs and feet are like elephants etc. but I am feeling so happy and so blessed to have my LO's!! :D :D

They are doing great for 33 weekers. They were on the CPAP (forced air) for less than 24 hours and now are on just room air. They have IV's, and tube in nose for feeding but they got their first 4cc each of my colostrum last night and they tolerated it really well. And today I got to BF them each one time!! They are doing fine with breathing, O2 levels, temperatures, etc. No A's or B's as of yet and we are getting to kangaroo hold them which is such an amazing feeling. :)

They are the most beautiful babies!!! I am so happy!!! And so glad that my OB was cautious and careful and got the best care for me and my LO's. I have been told to expect them to be here for about 3 weeks. I will try to post some photos.....again, thank you all for your support and well wishes!!!

This all feels so surreal to me...I cannot believe that I am at this point. I have so many tears of joy from even posting. This has been such a long and difficult journey and now I feel so blessed beyond belief. This has been a journey of 3 years for me at DH. Tears of joy are what I have that I cannot even truly express. Thank you everyone for all of your support during the time I have been on this site--over a year. (((HUGS))) to all of you.

Margi. Congrats again. That is an amazing story. It just is such a wonder to me how it all works out for the best sometimes. Sounds like early delivery was truely a blessing for you. Sounds like the little ones are healthy and string, they just need to grow. Great news that you can nurse some already and that your colostrum, milk is coming in nicely. Remember to check insurance to see if they will cover your breastpump due to premies. The one thing i wish i would have been better about is journally their nicu stay. Write down accomplishments and milestones, you will want to remember later.

Margi- I'm so happy for you. They are so adorable!! It's awesome to hear how well they are doing and how you can even breastfeed them. This is such great news :)

Ashley- Your next right?? Hopefully none of us cut in line again

AFM: On bed rest and in lots of pain off and on. Went to hospital yesterday. They think I either pulled a stomach muscle or since I've had so many surgeries that with my uterus stretching and growing so isn't the scar tisssue. Ouch. Sometimes I'm in agony for over an hour straight and can't even walk or move. I'm going to meet with my MFM tomorrow for US. Lucas is active and doing great. They gave me Tylenol with codeine as I refused anything stronger because I just can't stomach pain pills and even the Tylenol doesn't make me feel so hot. So I avoid taking it. I will talk to doctors tomorrow as it really hasn't helped and if it is a pulled muscle I would think a muscle relaxer would be better since it will rleax the m uscke and keep it from contracting. I know there is one safe to take for pregnancy as when I was trying to get pregnant a few years ago my back went out on me and they prescribed me something saying it was safe. So frustrating. I just wanted a nice easy pregnancy. Is that too much to ask?? Just one uneventful pregnancy!!

I hope everyone is doing well. Thinking of you all.
