hrobinson...baby aspirin helps thin the blood. In my situation, my blood was clotting, therefore the placenta was not getting a good blood supply or oxygen. So it is a preventative matter. I am on Lovenox, which is similar to baby aspirin or heparin. I don't think it would hurt an IVF cycle...hopefully help!!!

Hey girls

Hrob- I am taking 2 very small doses of Lupron, one at night and one in morning. I am on the flare protocol and I guess that is how my clinic does it. I responded poorly the first time on the long protocol so this is her new plan for me to get more eggs. Hope it works!!

Hrobinson - The menopur is a follicle stimulator. I'm on the flare protocal also so I don't downreg AT ALL. I have Antigon (ganirelix) on hand to prevent any unwanted LH surges. I go Thursday to see how many follies I have growing. I hope I have enough, at least 3, to do IVF. That's the minimum RE requires.

Good evening / afternoon / morning lovely ladies here are some more pick me up thoughts to perk us up for the next few days

•Walk bare foot in the sand this summer with your hunny. Draw hearts in the sand with your initials in them! We do this and it feels good on your toes and the soul!

•Get DH to give you a relaxing head and shoulder massage

•Grab a couple of cards and send a note the old fashioned way to a couple of friends of family – make their day.

•Listen to a good cd with headphones and just really try to relax. That is what I do and it blocks out all other things. Not like heavy metal or something just nice relaxing music....

•Plan a night or 2 away part way through your cycle (or just a night out together to a movie or dinner) – it will give you something to look forward to – or even better make it a surprise for your DH. Pick him up after work and give him some clues to work out where you are going. Planning the “surprise” will be a great distraction and doing something that isn’t IVF related is a great boost.

•Send your DH a card and a quirky gift – something fun that is going to make him smile and remember some of the things that are special and fun between the 2 of you.

•Chocolate – lots of it

•The fact that I have family, friends and a dh who I love and who love me whether I get a BFP or a BFN.

•Plan a few days away in the middle of your treatment – something to look forward to and a bit of time out for you and your DH

Does any one else have some ideas to add to the list this week?

Have a good day everyone

Hugs to you all

Just a quick hi from me,

My blood test was good and I get to start my stims tomorrow night then a blood test on the 9th and a scan on the 11th. Sorry this is short and sweet – I have a horrible headache so I’ll do some personals tomorrow.

Have a good day everyone,

Hello ladies!

Well, I'm back home! :D And it's GOOD to be home! I have TONS of things to do today, but it's okay. One at a time! I started the Lupron injections today... lol, sometimes, I have the impression that the injections never stopped and that last one was yesterday. I did it on automatic pilot! ;) Not looking forward to another AF due to Lupron, nor to the fatigue, but that's really nothing.

And by the way, my honeymoon was in EGYPT! Not in France! ;) My husband is French and we spent a few days with his family at the end of our trip, hence why I wrote from France last time. I'll leave the photos at the drugstore this morning so hopefully, I'll be able to scan them and put them on the net this weekend. I'll let you know.

Quick, let me post some personals, and then the list!

A great THANKS to Shantala for posting the list! :D It must not have been obvious with that new job and your DH's health, poor thing! You did a great job! Thanks!

Literatriz: Congrats on getting your meds! Makes it all more real!

lwalker25: it's a bit on the late, but you're welcome! Glad you'll be staying with us! :D Congrats on starting the bcp; we'll be awaiting your calendar eagerly with you! yippee!

Jenn: good job on the meds! I'm glad that you find helpful people! They really seem to be a blessing! :D Aw, so sorry about the scary pain and the trip to the ER! I hope the stones, if that's what it was, passed and that the pain will never bother you again! :) *hugs* I've had one trial transfer. The purpose of this is to determine the size of your uterus so they know exactly where to put your lovely embies when the real transfer happens. The norm, I think, is to put them 1cm away from the upper wall of your uterus... just as if it had emerged from your tubes and was about to right through with implantation, to make it as natural as possible. Some clinics don't do blastocyst transfers (days 5-6) because they think the best place for an embryo to develop is always the uterus. My clinic did blastocyst transfers before, but given that their studies showed they did not get better success rates like that, they stopped doing it and they usually do day 3 transfers. However, depending on your medical and IVF history, your clinic might still decide for you to have a day 5 or 6 transfer. Some have a lot of abnormal embies, and they need to wait to see how they develop, for example. Some embies need to be tested, as well. There can be many reasons. But if you're a "standard" IVFer, if that exists, doing a day 3, 4, 5, or 6 transfer should technically not make a difference in terms of success rates, according to my clinic's studies.

hrobinson: strange that your body should get accustomed to the pill... *puzzled* you're supposed to be able to take that stuff for years and years without having to change brands. My best friend was on Alesse, the lowest dose on the market, for over 5 years and she sure never had to change brands due to being accustomed. Either way, I really hope it works for you and that your IVF is not delayed! If it is, well, think about how that month(s) won't matter once you have your little bundle in your arms! And really, acupuncture is no big deal at all. Best way to get rid of your fear is to confront it! ;) Glad that you got your meds! It's always as scary as it is exciting! ;) I'm so sorry that your DH was not feeling well! Fortunately, when those things are diagnosed early, they usually heal pretty quickly. Hope he's doing better! *hugs* And yes, you should begin taking prenatal pills right now! Doctors all advise to take Folic acid supplements at the very least, 3 months prior to trying to conceive. Folic acid greatly decreases the risks for your baby to develop neural tube problems (like spina bifida). It's not too late, but you should really make a trip to the drugstore and talk to a pharmacist.

Jul1e: welcome back! :D Are you still in ovarian vacation or are you on the BCP? And about booze and caffeine, I would advise to give them both up right now. My acupuncturist told me that drinking alcohol has been shown to reduce women's fertility up to 50% in several studies. As for caffeine, tea can actually have much more than coffee. I wouldn't drink more than a cup a day if I were you, but that's just me. ;) Congrats on the water intake, though; it's my weak point! :)

So Jen! How was your cruise sweetie? Had fun? CONGRATULATIONS for getting the final okay with your doc! Yippee!!! But AW, MAN! AF is really a beoch! I'm so sorry that she came too early! I strongly believe there's a reason for this, though... maybe it was not the right time for you. I know it really, really s**ks to wait till the end of the month to start... :( but all that won't matter once you hold that baby in your arms my sweet! At least you can stay with us! :D Which is awesome!

ltaylor: I'm really sorry that your lost your friend at work... :( I know what it is: I had someone who really listened to me at one of my jobs for my first IVF, and she was SUCH a blessing! But there's the phone, and emails, and I'm sure she'll still be there for you if you keep in touch.

My:  WOW! Poor thing, what a scare! I'm SO relieved that your doc was understanding and that you were able to keep going! PHEW! Take a good rest, you poor thing... how are you doing now?

TansRN: WOOHOO! Grow follies, grow! Aw, this is SO exciting! You're really ahead of us my darling, and it's great! I'm keeping everything crossed here! Sorry that the meds sting so bad... I'll soon experience the same thing with Repronex! LOL when the docs, nurses or pharmacists tell you it stings "a little bit", you know it means a LOT! ;) Burn, baby burn! Bring those follies! And you wandering ovaries, calm down! LOL! It looks like they're turning into grapes, and that's VERY exciting! I totally get you on not telling. First time, I told only a few people, very close friends, hoping that they would be there and remember my apt dates and ask for news. All they did was wait for me to contact them all the time. Very disappointing. I didn't tell my family or other friends for the same reasons you mentioned. This time? Nobody knows. Better that way! And awwwwwwww! Thanks for saying that you missed me! I sure had a thought or two for you during my trip!

Carolyn: ooooooh I'm so sorry that you had to push your cycle to July... :( But congratulations on the opportunity in Dubai, though! You're very brave my sweet to keep your PMA up like that. You'll sure be missed here! *hugs* Good luck for your next cycle, sending lots of baby dust your way!

jolis: hello there! WELCOME! Thanks for joining this thread; it will be lovely to have you, even for just a very short time!

Souris: phew! glad that the move is over! Now you can start to make that nest your own! :D Congratulations!

mommytobe: congratulations on getting your meds! Always exciting, isn't it? We'll be very close in our treatments; I started Lupron today! :D

jovigal: congratulations on starting stimming! You're right ahead of us with Tanya! :D Grow follies, grow!

arizonakiwi: I'm really glad that the meds aren't giving you too much trouble, dear! :D And that "feeling" you have is certainly important! And also important is the fact that it's keeping your PMA up and that's priceless my sweet!

So sorry if I missed something, but I had a lot of things to read! :D But I'm back now and I'll stay in touch! The list will be posted once every one or two days!

Take care ladies! It's good to see you again!

Okay lovely ladies! Here's the list! Shantala is probably on her cruise right now (and good for her! :D), so I can't ask her to send me back the updated structure of my list. However, I've taken notes while reviewing, so I'll take my last list post and update it the best I can.

PLEASE, if I've made mistakes or something's missing, make a post JUST ABOUT THAT and let me know so I don't miss it. ;) SAME THING if you see question marks (?) in the info I posted about you, please confirm or infirm! Thanks for your help! :D

Hey girls!! Welcome back Sophie glad you had fun. Starting Lupron already!

I am feeling not good. I have been working in a school this week and I'm pretty sure I got the cooties. Sore throat, tired. If I have a cold can I still do IVF?? Oh what a horrible time to be sick!

On a more positive note i think I may have landed a job for the next school year. Just waiting to hear back from the district's HR department. Third grade yippy!! That is what I taught for 5 years before my 1 year retirement! Also DH and I are planning a trip to Italy this summer. I am soooooo excited.

I am going to take meds and go to bed. I'll write more tomorrow!

Later gators!
Jenn

Hello lovelies!

Just a note before I turn the puter off.

Jenn: Calm down sweetie! :D I, too, wondered how many things could possibily affect or cancel my first cycle. I think that reaction is normal, but just look at some ladies here. Gosh, My2LnT had all those health issues much more serious than a cold and she still got the okay from her doc. I also saw a fellow IVFer, Becleo, get super sick during her 2ww. She had bronchitis... and is now due in August! ;) Because those cycles mean so much, we tend to believe anything could happen and cancel the whole thing or make it fail. But it takes a lot for your docs to cancel a cycle.

Jen: I had a great time indeed! Learning all those things about Ancient Egypt and seeing what those people were able to do, invented, created... VERY humbling. I was humbled far before I was impressed or amazed. The pyramids were the climax, of course! :D I'll manage to post pics on photobucket and post the link here. And well... spending 4 days in a 7 stars Mariott was not bad either, lol! Talk about luxury!

My2LnT: thanks for your comments on the list! :D And CONGRATULATIONS on the AMAZING follie count! You embie-maker! ;)

I'll make sure I update your info on the list tomorrow.

Take care lovely ladies! And good night!

Hello May/June buddies,

I have been lurking around the site for a while and waitng until I recovered a bit from my last neg to start writing again when I could be a good buddy and have some PMA to spread. I would love to join your buddy list and realize it has grown quite long! My AF is due May 23. I'm getting a scan tomorrow to see how the lining looks (was very thin for me last cycle) and will then start a short cycle again. (I assume anyway).

Jovigal - my old friend from April. How fast time goes. Your already having your first scan. I'm so glad that prolactin started to behave. Sending you a terrific follie fairy!

PMApsy - What a wonderful trip. If I could turn my dh french I'd do it in a heartbeat. (he wouldn't mind, he loves France) Good choice! We haven't been to Egypt since 95. Wow, aren't those nice hotels great. I'm guessing not much has changed. No new pyramids?? Did you see the "light show" on the pyramids...feels like you're suddenly swept back to an American theme park! I so understand the feeling of never having stopped the injections. They are so second nature. What is life without a vial of Lupron and some Follistim in the fridge?? Not to mention the homey effect of needles, syringes etc. Quite the child friendly environment! BTW, Thank you for making such a beautiful list.

Angela - Congrats on starting the stims! Sorry about the headaches. I've had them this week too. I think it's allergies for me. Are you from Arizona? My dad is in Phoenix. (total golf fanatic)

Jenn - I totally agree with Sophie. I was very sick with the cycle that I had my dd with. My RE was not concerned about it affecting the cycle. Only if you have a sustained high fever do they start to think twice. Keep plently hydrated and rested. I remember getting plenty of hard hitting cooties from those kids when I rotated on a peds floor. Congratulations on your new job. I love 3rd graders. They're still sweet at that age!

Jen - (my poor soft brain may ask you about your trip to Italy and Jenn about her cruise!!!. Please forgive me in advance for any mix up I may have!!) Your trip did sound so nice. Did you get to scuba?

Steph - Can I reserve your follie fairy when your done???? I think you'll be well into 2ww by the time I need her! Fantastic count! You must be on cloud nine.

Carolyn - I was so hoping to get to know you. You write such thoughtful notes and have impressed me as such a wonderful person. (am I right that you have been on the board since before I started 2 years ago?) Oh, this is a trial of patience to say the least. Many prayers to you. We are going to get there. Even if we take the long road.

OK, I have to finish personals later as dh keeps calling me to go to Lowes to get a banaster for our stairs for upcoming house inspection! The fun of remodeling never ends....

I'm sending tons of babydust to everyone and am really looking forward to gettting to know all of you. I do not mean to leave anyone out of personals, I am jsut so far behind and have to leave before the store closes!

Good morning ladies!

I am DEVASTATED! De-vas-ta-ted!

When we woke up this morning, someone said at the radio that a study recently confirmed that eating any form of nuts during pregnancy multiplies by four the risk that the child will develop an allergy. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! What will I do without my peanut butter? :? :(

Ah, well... less than a month left! ;) I'll make sure I make the most of it, haha!

How are you doing ladies?

TansRN: I can't wait to hear about those lovely follies again! This is such an exciting time! I'm so glad that it's going perfect, follie-wise!

Daly: WELCOME to the nut house! You can mention Carolyn, but it looks like you make very thoughtful posts as well! I'm sure we'll have lots of pleasant discussions together! :D Thanks for sharing a little bit of history... I was really thouched by what I read in your signature. What a horrible shock it must have been... I am truly sorry about what happened with your sweet little angel... and about your subsequent BFN. It must have been a very rough time. I sincerely wish that the future has something in store just for you that involves loads of lasting happiness! And I'll be glad to share that cycle ride with you my dear. Nope, no new pyramids in Egypt, but lots of new discoveries. Each time they do renovations or build a new city, it's the same story. They bump against something, usually a temple or a tomb and everything stops... until the government gives them enough money to fully explore the site. Last time it happened, they discovered 200 sarcophaguses made of solid gold... 24K! Just that! ;) Thank you so much for your comment on the list; I'll add you right away! ;)

Well, take care lovelies! Gotta rehearse a lot today... I have the day off so I have to make the most of it. I'm really hoping that my turista goes away today. It's been going on and off since Monday and I really don't need that right now! ;)

*sigh* speak of the devil... gotta run! Have a great day ladies!
