Hi Everyone,

Jomae - I didn't have any pain in my colon the first time around or this time. I did feel a lot of pain in my lower back and of course the ovaries and tummy. IGlad AF came along and things moved up a bit earlier for you.

Neffti - I'm glad those levels are falling. I remember that happened to me in July and like you, we waited and the came down in about a week i think. Soooo glad that you get to to do the shared risk program. Nobody needs to worry about that part when doing IVF, its a big stresser all by itself!

LB - Oh sweetie, so glad that you got to transfer your precious bean. How are you feeling?

MLB - We are in the same boat. I am praying to have a couple of frosties. Last IVF, we had 5 embies (just like you). We transferred 3 and we were able to have 1 frostie. So don't give up hope....you can have 5 perfect embies there. And WE all know, it only takes one but I kinda like to have a back up plan too

Michele - Awesome..two beautiful embies put back. Praying so hard for them to stick. And I love the pictures that they give you before transfer. I still have mind from the first IVF. You and DH are in my thoughts.

Tali - Goes without saying, but please take care in the snow. Here is something for you to laugh about. I am in Atlanta and everyone is complaining because we just hit the 40s...so you see I come from a long line of wussies :P

Esperanza - Tell DH I was petrified when I got my big box of meds too, and I knew what was coming. How did the shots go? Thanks for updating me on the list.

As for me, I am feeling much better today. Still a little crampy though. ET is tomorrow morning at 10:30. Hopefully, they are still busy dividing like good little embies should do for mommy. I did my first PIO shot. Like true wussie fashion, I got a prescription from my RE for EMLA, numbing cream. I slap some on and cover it for an hour. DH does all the sticking, in my bum, and then I put the heating pad on and rub it in. I also let the PIO sit out for at least 15 for room temperature. Didn't feel nothing...mission accomplish. Seems a bit much but I'm kinda sick of being a pin cushion. :D

To all the rest of the ladies, hope time is moving swiftly for you and I can't wait to cheer you on. Snuggle up to those in the north!

Good Evening Everyone!

I wanted to post and let everyone know that I am reading on these boards constantly, but just haven't posted since I don't have updates...nothing really to say about me during the 2ww, just sitting around waiting! I did want to ask people about progesterone. Has anyone every used the vaginal supposetory? What about shots? Do they work the same? They said when I go for bw on wednesday, they will test my progesterone levels and if they aren't high enough, I may have to switch to a shot. Just curious about peoples thoughts.

Hellokitty- good luck tomorrow morning. We will all be routing for you and then you can join the rest of us in the torturous 2ww! Did you get all of your scrapbook supplies for 2ww? By the way, I have felt crampy since I started this entire process, now I just wonder if it is because of something else, like my embies implanting!

Neffi- congrats on that program, it sounds fantastic! I didn't even know they existed. I, just like Tali, am very lucky insurance covers it. My dh and I could have never even dreamed of affording this without insurance. That's one of the reasons we still live in CT. I know CT is super expensive, but when we saw they were passing that law, we knew we needed to stay for a while.

MLB- good luck on your et. I have read and been told that you do not need to give up caffeine. I guess up to 300mg is fine. I am definitly trying to be more concious about it though. Even if I cut down, I know it will only help.

Esperanze- Congrats on starting shots! How did that go for the first time. I remember it took me and dh a half an hour the first time because we were so afraid of messing up, by the end it took no longer than 4 minutes, including clean-up time!

Tali- Where are you located? I know esperanza is new england too, so we are right in the middle of the snow with you. Thank goodness I am not near Rochester, NY, my brother lives there and was expecting close to 24 inches!

Wunnam- hope your feeling a little better- keep us updated on what the dr says

Pumma, ScheL, LB- How is the 2ww for you going? What are you doing to keep busy? I am doing homework, shopping and a lot of visting.

To all of our january ladies- hang in there, you are almost there! It is creeping up soooo fast. Hopefully I will be BFP while reading about all of your wonderful experiences.

Talk to you all soon! Enjoy your week! I know this is going to be the longest week of my life. The kids at school will be crazy because it's almost christmas and I will be crazy with them just thinking about a BFP!

Michelle,

I am in Northern VT and we have already had enough snow for the entire season. I am not a big fan of the really long winters and since this one is starting so early with so much snow, I am worried i will be miserable :)

I did the supposetory my last cycle. They are really not a lot of fun and even though I have heard the shots hurt, I think I would have preferred the shots. Oh well, I will be doing the supposetories again this cycle, yuk. Which are you doing now?

What are you doing to keep yourself occupied during 2ww. I think I will go nuts during mine. since it will the first of the year and things will be quiet after the holidays.

xoxo

hey ladies--

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Good luck to those who are having ER/ET this week! And more thoughts to the ones going through the 2ww!!! I am very excited about our shared risk program...but we still are spending alot of money...I thought that it was very rare for insurance companies to cover IVF, but it seems like alot do! I wish mine did....hopefully when I am planning our 2nd child insurances will have changed here in PA. Anyway it is what it is! How many people have coverage?? I am lucky I guess becasue my meds were covered! A little is better than none at all! Hope everyone has a good week!

Hi everyone,
I have been posting in the other thread mainly but wanted to jump in and say Hi and see how you all are doing. Im currently in the 2ww with out FET transfer. Im hoping to get a BFP as a christmas present and be on our way to starting our family. Our clinic is in the middle of a transfer positive boom right now and twins seems to be the baby boom which is even more exciting. So I'm hoping we continue that tradition the rest of this month. Good Luck to you all!

Tali- I am doing the suppositories right now. I don't mind them really, but I worry about not getting it all in. The dr said the progesterone was really important, so I hope I am doing it right. I guess I will find out on wednesday. I agree with you, I think it is going to be a long and harsh winter in new england this year, but hopefully we will be bfp to keep us occupied. I am doing a lot of family visiting to keep busy and finishing up with finals. I am spending a lot of time online, reading as much as I can about ivf and early pregnancy. I even finally broke down and went and bought a pregnancy book. I already read a good ivf book, but was holding off on the pregnancy ones until I got a bfp....but I couldn't wait, because, technically I am pregnant, right? PUPO- pregnant until proven otherwise!

Neffi- A lot of states now have laws passed requiring insurance companies to cover it. I am suprised PA does not. A lot of the northeast states offer coverage. It really depends on insurance too, up to this point I have just been paying co-pays...we are extrememly lucky. The only thing we had to pay for out of pocket was freezing my dh's sperm, but the lab cut us a major deal on that due to finances.

Mrs G.- Welcome- I have read other threads, but I really like this one (no offense to the others). Everyone here is soooo nice and supportive. Congrats on making it to 2ww. I am there too and we are hoping for the same christmas present as you.

Yeah Im not very used to this board yet so I haven't made my way around. So when is your testing day or blood drawing day? Im thinking that if I might test a few days early because that would be such a great christmas gift. Im due to have my blood drawn on the 28th.

hello my dear friends,

sorry it has taken me so long to come back, but i was on bed rest for 2 days and today i just felt really dizzy.
anyway, i had my transfer on friday and out of my 12 retrieved follies only 5 were mature :(, that was a shock for me since during my last ivf cycle 12 out of 16 were. i was also really bummed when they told me that 3 looked good and 1 looked average (scaling is: grade, good, average, poor); they ended up transferring 4; last time they also transferred 4 with one being a grade and 3 being good and none of them made it. the doctor on the other hand was very positive, saying he thinks it will work out this time (he also thought that last time), but i am not sure, perhaps they all just say that, to make us feel better. i don't know, what do you girls think? sorry to be so down right now, but i just really want this to happen, especially since i just found out that my 40 year old neighbor just got pregnant. why can't it happen to me??
my first test date is 12/24 and then i test again on 12/26. i am sort of scared, since at least during the 2ww there is hope, but if i get a bfn, then there will be nothing  again, i am sorry to be so down, but i'll probably be better tomorrow.

hi girls,
hang in there 2wwaiters...! congratuations on getting this far! think happy pregnant thoughts and keep drinking lots of water, get some fresh air, too!

pumma - hey, remember how you thought you'd have to wait, then you got the green light to go forward and now you are PUPO! congratulations! it's an emotional rollercoaster, I know....and if it can happen to your neighbor, it can happen to you, too! try to relax, think positive and think about your 4 embies snuggling in to give you that BFP for a beautiful christmas gift.

ct-michele - thanks for thinking of us girls who are still waiting-- enjoy your pregnancy book - great attitude - keep up your pma! when do you test?

to the ladies stuck in that awful winter weather - remember to let dh do the shoveling this time around!!

best of luck to everyone going through er/et this week!
hope everyone cycling now is doing well with their shots! any method that works for you to make it less painful is the one to use.

take care ladies! looking forward to reading about lots of bfp's on this thread! you guys are great.

Hi Ladies,

Michelle - I got my scrapbooking for dummies kit. I'm starting on it tomorrow when DH finally goes to work. He's watching me every second, especially the computer time. He makes me put a pillow on my lap for some strange reason....gotta love him. I'm doing the PIO shots. They are going much better than last time. I using numbing cream and the heating pad later. I'm sure it works the same as the supposetories but I think I like the shots the best because I know its getting in there. I would be goofy enough to screw it up.

Tali - Hope you are keeping warm up there. I read online that they closed down some businesses and the schools. How were you affected? Hope you didn't have to go out.

Neffi211 - I have insureance coverage for IVF too, so does my dh. Whatever my policy doesn't cover, my husband's policy picks it up. For meds, I think I paid $250 each time we did IVF. But can you believe neither policy cover for putting me to sleep for the procedure!!! What the heck is that all about. It is not like I am going to say, hey I'll just do without it. So, my RE gave me a discount and I paid $350 out of pocket.

Welcome Mrs G. - Glad to see you are in the 2WW with some of us girls. I giving PMA to this cycle but I do have 1 frostie so far and I will be doing that next if this doesn't work out. Can you tell me what meds you are taking?

Pumma - So good to hear from you. Sorry you are feeling a little dizzy. I'm doing just a little bit of saltines to help with that or ginger lollipops. Do not count yourself out on your BFP. I know we all have to blow off some steam because this is a huge rollercoaser ride of emotions. My first cousin is 40 and due in February. Can you imagine me going to her baby shower? I will be happy for her because she tried for over 10 years but I don't want any helpful comments from anyone else. We will have our babies. So you have all the righ to feel a little down but don't give up hope, sweetie. And don't apologize for your feelings. I can assure at some point all of us have gone through it or will do so.

wunnam - When I was cancelled before, I had 1 leading follie and was told that I might be able to ovulate on my own. But that is my whole issue, I don't O. I did get light spotting after I was cancelled. So, it could happen but I would stay on the cautious side.

Hi Amy - You are an awesome cheerleader keep up coming.

As for me, we ended up with 6 embies making it to day 3. We transferred 3 and waiting to see will any of the rest make it to blast. My transfer went much better than last time. I was too full of water so I could actually rest the 10 minutes that they asked me to do. The Xanax really help me out. But DH had to make 2 pit stops before we got home :P !!! I'm officially in the 2WW

Baby dust and sticky vibes to all.

Well for the FET cycle I started Lupron on 11/24-12/7 with low dose aspirin(through entire cycle). I started zithromycin (antibiotic 11/25-11/29) Also started Estrogen Patches on 11/26 and am still on them. I started with 1 patch every 2 days then slowly increased to 4/every 2 days a week before transfer and decreased back down to 2/every 2 days which i will continue on until 12/27 along with my progesterone.

What is PMA?

I have 2 frosties as well, and the implanted 2 this cycle so Im hoping to have a success with this one. ::fingers crossed::

He girlies -- Just wanted to update you. We have injection class and was scheduled for Mock Transfer tomorrow. AF came on Friday while I'm still on BC so not sure if they will still do the Mock with this all happening. Has anyone else started their period while on BC. I wasn't supposed to even start yet but have been having my cycle for the past 4 days and it is as normal as they come. Nurse seem to say that is what they call break through bleeding and didn't seem too concerned. Advised me to keep taking the pills and she told me that I may not have another period after I complete the BC. This is all so screwed up to me.

Also I got my meds in the mail on Friday and boy was I overwhelmed. Some of the needles seem to be 2-3 inches long and the sheet of instructions I received stated that the needles must be injected all the way in.

On one of the other boards someone told me that the larger/longer needles are for draws and the smaller ones are the ones you inject. What is a draw. Can someone please explain these needles to me.

I start Lupron on Saturday 12/22 and am scheduled for my first ultrasound and B2 on 12/28. Can anyone tell me whatto expect next.

I do know that they have me on Bravelle and Menopur. Are these two drugs taken together. I guess what I thought was that you only get one shot a day and it seems that there could be three. Also when does the Lupron injections stop.

I hope to learn alot in tomorrows class because this seems like alot to keep up with. I just want to make sure that I am doing all of this stuff right.
